Is this Milo?

I can say for definitely that is indeed Milo

Also since I can't into crossboard thread lnking
>>>/vg/26519

is there an age of mythology random map that looks like this?
I'd also prefer having one where the water is replaced with lava and its set in erebus

oh, and I'll add that you can get a map that looks like that sometimes by picking The Unknown
but never a version with lava, and sometimes the circle is broken in one place

Noic, I really enjoyed posting obscure RTSes in the previous thread.

theisozone.com/downloads/pc/windows-games/primitive-wars/
archive.org/details/jurassic-war

I think these two are actually a series

then make your own map, cuck

but I don't know how to into programming
thats how you make random maps in THAT game

why don't you just go play gaia or farmville or something

*crash lands into your path*

That Primitive Wars game seems to have had a Korea-exclusive expansion which kinda looks awesome. and still has an active playerbase

I'll be downloading it for sure, here is a link to anyone interested expect hangul to make things harder
cafe.naver.com/jtr/38195

I keep forgetting what the game is called, even after like 15 years of me looking for it and some random user finding it for me I still cannot keep the name "Primitive Wars" in my head. PW2 is a blatant Starcraft clone in terms of tech trees and unit functionality.

Jurassic World was a WarCraft clone, it only make sense that its sequel would rip off StarCraft I don't hate the clones, I fidn them interesting.

There are other dino RTSes as well
theisozone.com/downloads/pc/windows-games/paraworld-proper/

this one looks okay but it's mobile crap.
androidappsgame.net/rex-tribal-society

God damn old RTS games with digitized 3D models for sprites look fucking terrible every time.
Was Tiberian Sun the only game that managed to make it okay?

Tibsun didn't use sprites for its vehicles.

And are you saying most old RTSes look terrible?

good job ruining the thread right away

If you drive thread into pillboxes early you can't drive stealth tanks into pillboxes later.

You sure about that?

Actually there is and on Age of Empires as well as Rise of Nations. Makes for good naval play. Although don't play random maps in Age of Mythology HD

You are doing God's work user.

Daily reminder that ship was meant to have survivors.

...

it's good that the fire didn't raise then

Tiberium was going to be an FPS/RTS hybrid as well like actual ordering units, structures etc as well as commanding NPC troops

Friendly reminder.

name one good "fps rts" hybrid

Blizzjew was involved on OpenRA development?

No, it was just made by gook click 2 fans.

Shotgun Frenzy, Battlefield 2.

Unvanquished, Nuclear Dawn before it became all cheaters.

are there? what are they called?
and I wasn't referring to HD edition; I play the titans xpack

This is surprisingly accurate. OpenRA was once good when it was just Red Alert with some modern features. When they started adding shit and "balancing" they fucked it beyond measure.

Battlezone for starters
Then there's Natural Selection, Savage, list goes on.
Really the question you should ask is name one FPS/RTS Hybrid "Community"

Savage

Can't remember off the top of the head. Only that it got nicknamed the devil's anus.

One "GOOD" RTS/Hybrid Community.

Zandronum? which is a tower defense game.
Battlefield 2 has no RTS elements in it other then yelling at fuckers to do what you want.
Unvanquished and Nuclear Dawnlooks like NS.
Savage I wanted to play that but couldn't get it to work sadly.

Battlezone, that reminds me we should do another game night of that.

you were correct before, no such thing as a good video game community, not anymore.

I need to get back into that.
FPS/RTS Hybrid communities are some of the worst **Remember the Empire Mod Gamenight?

May as well join (((GDI))) now.

Why are you even here tbh

General threads should be banned on Holla Forums

I didn't even play it because I missed it but I saw that webm, I'd need someone to explain it since it seemed like everyone was a retard in it

But user if I was busy playing I wouldn't be able to post passwords to private servers?

Don't reply to me or my 2 wife's sons ever again.
it was fun for the first two days, really

(checked)
It was fun for the first night but then the spergs outweighed anyone fun and so drove everyone away.
Quite literally Empires is why it is now established policy that unless a community is probed in advanced gamenight servers will always run passworded from now on.

I'm not familiar with that, what happened?

you should be banned for posting this shit on every general thread

Long story short.

Just ignore it though Mark apparently is considering agreeing with him from a previous meta thread so let's see if he will kill Holla Forums

If that's true, then Holla Forums deserves to die.

mark would agree with anything if it's shitposted loud enough or his circle jerk tells him to change shit to their way

How can I get Warlords Battlecry 3 to work on a 64-bit computer?

Yes it did. It used both drawn 2D sprites (infantry) and 3D voxels (vehicles and buildings). You think all those animated base structures with spinning parabolic antennas covered in pinpoint shading effects were entirely hand-drawn?
They didn't make all those 3D models just for the cutscenes.

If most were like SC2, then yes.

Considering Mark banned a few posts that he didn't like in the last thread seriously they were not breaking any rules I have meh feelings on the entire issue. Hence why there's a /vg/ thread now as a backup in case Mark does something retarded again like delete the entire thread.

Technically TibSun used 3D models converted into sprites iirc.

Yes, they're 3D models turned into sprites, as I said. Not hand-drawn.

Ah misread also Titan looks tiny

MENTAL OMEGA 3.3.3 IS OUT NIGGERS
now with save/load function

I never mentioned anything about them being hand-drawn. I know they were 3D models because I remember the anegdote about them having more polygons than most computers back then could handle and way more than they actually needed. I just pointed out the fact not everything was sprite-based in TibSun, that's it.

And you are wrong about the buildings, only turret elements were voxel-based and I was wrong about the vehicles because I forgot about the walkers.

Too bad that after all these years I can't get TibEd to run.

is the OC faction removed?

Really? What OS?

Unfortunately no

Win7 but maybe there's something wrong with my installations after the recent format. No matter, when I'll really need it, I'll get it to run. I haven't been playing with editing Westwood games in years, anyway.

how about those shitty epic units?

Nope
but at least we have save load function now

Really? I played around editing it recently though I think I remember installing a fix for it. Might be worth checking cncnet for a fix if there is one.

how about the trash designs that make everything look like a MCV?

What? MO vehicles design isnt that bad

I remember an angry Frenchman mad about his followers leaving his realm to chase the freedom of our recently public server. I remember when another faggot there posted our server details/password on their shitty forums once we got tired of them. I remember when that same faggot freaked out when people didn't follow his no fun allowed orders. He later apologized on their forums after people bitched.

eeeeeh

it sounds like what happened with /wwew/ tbh

Really activates the almond

Yeah, ever unit is too big for its square and too boxy to distinguish.

Still not as bad as Tiberium Insurrection though.

Insurrection is another case of "I only played Tib wars can't those NODS supposed to be techy and edgy right?"

What do you mean by "techy" and "edgy"?

I'd say they made Nod more Cyberpunkish.

Okay, time to continue the descent into obscurity.

1995: the year apparently only 3 RTSes were released, two becoming instant classics.
The third… well… It fell behind.

oldpcgaming.net/this-means-war-review/

Wanna try some obscure RTS?
Check out "Kingdom Under Fire"
It was pretty good

My favorite RTS and probably favorite game of all time altogether would have to be Empire Earth. I still play it from time to time. I hate EE2 and 3 though.

Yeah, Koreans seem to have made just as many RTSes as the rest of the world and most of them are rather obscure

I like the aesthetic of this one. Seems it spawned quite a few sequels too, none of which are RTSes.
old-games.com/download/6702/kingdom-under-fire-a-war

Wasn't this series brought over to the OG XB as a musou clone?

like you look at Tib dawn and see that Nod is a highly mobile force with an obelisk of light and stealth tanks as the peak of what's out there but then you have to ask your self why the rest of that force is just effectively trash comparatively, the only answer I can think of is that actually due to because it was an invading force of which objective wasn't to wrestle control from GDI but to achieve other such things so it makes sense that their force be as light as possible. Tib sun on the other hand Nod is more on a defensive war after the civil war it had so we get alot more view on what Nod really is capable of and so yeah it does make sense for it to be neat high techy stuffs even though they still have bike/buggie that I don't really get why they're still used but I'm guessing that's in part of the rush job EA forced on Westwood. Tib war they massively fucked up in having one faction of Nod, they should of and it seemed like they wanted to have some kinda Neo-Nod faction where it's just like fighting something like the GLA till Kane comes in and brings out all the hidden houses and boom maybe something more then stealth, lasers and Tib knowledge honestly it really does feel like they just wanted to one up Tib sun in how sleek everything sort of was.

in awe with the size of this lad, what an absolute unit

seems so

I used to play that in computer clubs. It wasn't all that good, but the aesthetic was indeed good.
A shame that every time I google it now I get some shitty asian game instead.

but that's what it was from the start

Yeah, but even then
RTS> that third person garbage attack spam game

Wish he'd just get the GRIDS and die already

>(((Milo Yiannopoulos))) Brotherhood of Nod
I did a reviser image search a found the source of your pic from SA archive.is/xlGsI I'm not calling you a goon, but "we" don't take kindly to goons. The thread premise is good so it going to be commandeered in the name of neo/v/ and for the glory of the CakeGolem but maybe you should go back before things get ugly around here.
>>>/somethingawful/

I was here for the thread where OP's pic was originally posted you raging, insecure autist. Someone commented on how he looked like a character from C&C and some other user photoshopped him in that screencap from one of the .fmvs from C&C 98.

Holy fucking nitpick Batman. Nod's technology is decades ahead of GDI's, and it's always been. It grew exponentially with each title. If Kane ever hoped to achieve his goals, he would eventually have to drop the whole guerrilla composition for his units and get something better to combat GDI and the Scrin.
Were you not around when that user explained why the Tacitus was so important for Nod? It was basically its ticket to all the tech they got, and Kane was the one person left who knew how to use it. Of course they'd be GLA-tier in Tib Wars until Kane's return. Nod is essentially a guerilla without him and his Black Hand inner circle.

These threads are fine, if it was deleted then it must've been a mistake.

Makku, just for future reference: If you get report-spammed be very wary of acting prematurely. This board has become full of shitters who want to win their arguments by moderator.

btw I did not report the thread, RTS threads are fine imho. I was just skeptical about the Reddit tier OC.

yeah, there's people who will shit up a thread because they know it will get deleted and they'll face no consequence.

Probably some newfags, alright then. Thanks for the heads up.

lolno

GDI's high tech puts Nod to shame. Orbital Ion Cannon, Firestorm technology, Disruptors, etc.

At most you might say that they have theoretical tech that GDI can't access (like plasma, and I guess tunneling/stealth?), but at most their theoretical only translates into barely being able to keep up with GDI's massively better refined practical applications.

Now Kane himself probably knows some seriously awesome shit, which is probably what CABAL was using, but Nod doesn't have that stuff.

GDI had:
And bear in mind that they decommissioned all but 2 of those by the end of TWIII

Meanwhile Nod had:

And Nod had all of this before the TWIII, and most of it was acquired from the Tacitus. Nod's armies may be weaker than GDI's but that's because GDI has the funding of all the world's most powerful nations and could afford to invest a lot into conventional weaponry. Sure Nod uses buggies and bikes against GDI tanks, but they have shit GDI cucks couldn't even dream of having, so much that they've actually tried to steal some of it from time to time.

Make no mistake, Nod has the tech needed to win. All it needs is the money and production, which is sort of baffling to begin with because Nod pioneered and dominated Tiberium harvesting around the globe until TWIII, which puts at question why they weren't as powerful as they were in Tiberium Wars in the past two wars.

So no. Nod was always ahead technologically.

GDI has railguns, infinitely better. Handheld railguns in fact. Hell the US army has laser technology right now, it's not difficult.

I said as much. But it's not exactly huge. Heating a substance really, really hot and shooting it isn't revolutionary like destroying things with sound waves is. GDI could probably make a plasma gun pretty easily. Especially in the Banshee's case, why would they make a bomber with a payload weaker than normal bombs? Nod's plasma is a sign of weakness, they can't afford the heavy ordnance to arm their stuff with.

Stealth technology that is detectable by radar. Granted this should probably be assumed to be a game mechanic designed to prevent them being OP

GDI has the same

Chem troopers are just shooting shit with tiberium. The missile was straight designed from the tacitus and not really something with other applications.

We have working prosthetics that interface with bodies today. Stuff like Wolverines, Titans and Jumpjets are way more interesting on a man/machine interface level

Good stuff. Again though, there's no hint that this is something more technologically advanced than any old drill, GDI could probably do it if they needed. They don't because they control the skies.

Ditto as for Chem Troopers. This is basically a dirty bomb, incredibly simple to make.

No reason to believe its more intelligent than EVA. EVA is just constrained because GDI isn't stupid enough to give AI a chance to turn on them.

Actually sound waves are a form of energy, just like plasma is. So fundamentally you're more or less doong the same thing

UNATCO?

No, savage.

they're not though is the thing, three infantry units are the extent of it when we still had super cool highly advanced edgy looking bases, we should have had TWO vastly different Nods and not one that's halfassed

...

in Tiberium sun GDI powerplants are still steam turbines while Nods aren't

U-UNATCO?

Lurk more.

Pretty much this and in all honesty Mark you need to learn to fucking read a thread before acting.

It is hinted at that Nod rarely if ever deploy their best stuff which is scary when you think about it.
Also GDI can't into Combined Arms which makes how they even won a single war confusing.
In Tiberian Sun Nod were originally going to be a much more heavy hitter faction fielding heavy tanks, mammoths tanks, tank destroyers, heavy infantry and far more cyborgs. Pretty much all of this was cut before release.

Good way of outing yourself as the newfag shitting up Holla Forums

that's what I assumed based off things like the tic tank and how GDI has more mobility units but nope we're forever Nod the edgy high mobile advanced tech faction thanks to Tib wars

What, main point of GDI is conventional combined arms. Nod have more specialised units, While GDI have more versatile units.

I really can't get my head round the lore of that one. Nod seem all over the place in unit design there.

Maybe in Soviet Russia? They didn't even get proper artillery till Firestorm.

no no no GDI is just american forces but future! and and Nod is cool like my chemical romance cool, y-you know?

there's alot of interesting bits of it that does sort of work but the fact that the over all product is pretty subpar outside of the gameplay aspect, I really find it hard not to utter hate the game

Man, Empires was a noteworthy gamenight.

Kek
If Nod were sort of a proper tier'd system it would make sense, i.e. as you go up in tech the appearance of their units and buildings drastically changes.
Tier 1 would grant you access to a factory that produced units that have a sort of rag tagged militia look.
Tier 2 you would get a new factory that would produce something resembling a high end mercenary aesthetic.
Tier 3 and you got some sort of science factory that produces a "Oh shit it's from Mars!" vibe units to it.

that's better then my idea of just two different factions of Neo-Nod and Brotherhood of Nod

tfw Original War sequel/remake never ever

I shamelessly ripped it off by mixing Total Annilihation/Supreme Commander mechanics and Act of War's Consortium.
For those unfamiliar with Act of War, the Consortium were a faction that early game had sort of a terrorist/low end merc vibe to it but when they upgraded to revealed status it was "HOLYSHITBURGERS THEY HAVE RAILGUN STEALTH TANKS!" It was done rather well as it could catch players completely off guard and having to completely rethink their strategy dealing with them. It was literally a "YOU GOT ME MAD NOW!" move
It would be like if the GLA in Zero Hour went from pickup trucks with a .50cal to Mechanize Walkers with Laser Cannons.

you monster how dare you, no it's not a bad idea, although the issue is that it can't be put into zero hour/tib war gameplay as it'd be way too slow paced for it

Yeah that's the only problem although Act of War isn't actually that far behind in pacing and allows for fun stuff like placing Tanks on top of roofs of buildings

too bad Act of aggression was so bad that I pretty much don't want to try out AoW

Act of War is Tom Clancy Command and Conquer. You are missing out if you don't try it. Act of Aggression shit the bed because they went with "Muh e-sports" again plus their resource system was good on paper but retarded in practice since if you didn't get a good deployment may as well just throw the game.

I'll give it a pop

What gets me about that image everytime is that even though the people (((GDI))) are beating up are unarmed one of them still manages to die.

this is why Nod is superior

While the taste in that image is questionable I have to ask Was it rape?

oh it's rape alright the game to the IP that is

And it took them 3 Tib wars to finally have something to answer Nod's laser tech. "Not difficult", yeah right.

The plasma technology was highly experimental only fell short because GDI destroyed all the Banshee prototypes before they could be finished. Even so, Enlightened cyborgs still have plasma cannons, on top of having mastered man-portable particle beam weaponry as well, something that GDI still has restricted to their precious Ion Cannon.

Well obviously, it's only visual signature stealth, bending light around the vehicle/person to make them invisible to the eye and normal surveillance systems.

After they stole it from Nod, who've literally invented tiberium harvesting.

Wrong. They had specialized weapons that launched concentrated Tiberium gases at the target with high enough doses to kill near-instantly. You try collecting tiberium gas to make into a weapon, surely you'll have an easy time. *You won't.*
Also, I should note that Nod also pioneered Tiberium-proof suits with the Chem Warriors as well during TWI. GDI only got that tech in TWIII.

Okay.

And? Nod had them in the 1990's.

While I think all are equally interesting, robotics on the level of mechanized walkers had too many flaws to stick around after one Tiberium war, which is why had to end their production (which I fucking hate them for doing) to save money. Also, GDI managed to ruin jumpjets in Tiberian Sun with the shitty-ass useless buzz lightyear infantry. They only became useful in TWIII.

Establishing a worldwide tunnel network where the vast majority of Nod's followers can literally live in in less than 30 years without GDI knowing about it is not technologically advanced?

Which is why GDI didn't even have the skill or the tech to figure out how to push back the veinholes and contain them by inventing their own harvester right? Fuck dude, Nod retrofitted a goddamn tractor and it did the job.

Except for the fact that he was hooked up into the minds of Kane's entire inner circle and was essentially a sapient lifeform turned digital, to the point of calling GDI's EVA a primitive machine.

Also >>14463502

The end of the Second Tiberium War didn't destroy everything Nod had, you know. Even their most advanced tech, such as Avatars and Stealth tanks, were only introduced late into Nod's campaign after Kane instructed his followers how to build them. Nod's most "high tech" units were never given to the player right off the bat in any of the games, and Tiberium Wars is no different.

Like the ones we got in Kane's Wrath? How about those, eh?

The main point of GDI has always been to spam its strongest arsenal available at Nod. They're a defense initiative, so their main tactic is to be a wall of fire and armor. They're mostly Imperial Guard-tier. Hell, the vast majority of cutscenes involving GDI forces has them curbstomping Nod's shit with heavy bombers, mechs and tanks like an unstoppable force.

End War got a Sequal but its a shit Browser game. End War was fun but Ubisoft ruined its sequal

Absolutely savage.

Premise was interesting but the game had way too many flaws to be good. Leveling up system made it so unless you were playing since launch you were never going to have a good matchup.

no but everything was lost to Nod just about so they shouldn't even had their laser tech either, it should have been Nod more presented as GLA and yeah they got their good stuff back when Kane came about but you still had venom's and beam tanks and other such things

KW subfactions isn't what we're talking about because that's after some side shit which explains stuff leading up to kane coming back and afterwards

What's the issue user? I pirated the GOG version and it works flawlessly on Windows 7 64-bit.

Holy shit, I wish I'd been around for that.

Because…? Remember that they still had their tunnel networks to hide in, and the Black Hand was in charge of safekeeping a lot of their tech, even after the end of Firestorm. Nod's laser technology is to them what ballistic weapons are to us. Blowing up every munitions factory on the planet won't make us forget how to make cartridges.

The Tiberium saga came long before Generals, so no. It has its own set of rules, so if anything, GLA would've been the one to be the copycat, not the other way around. Besides, Tiberium Wars was more of a C&C game than Generals.

Then what did you mean by "two different Nods"? If you wanted split factions, Kane's Wrath is by far the closest we got to that.

How many are Commando? :^)

tunnel networks is something that lasts as it's literally just a long series of travel-able holes in the ground. the black hand didn't come around till Kane did and they still fucked up loosing stealth again.
is that why their militant forces have laser rifles and such? when Nod didn't have that back in Tib Sun

I wasn't being literal with GLA being in Tib wars just Nod should have been PRESENTED like or had the aesthetics of the GLA up to the point when Kane came out of hidding.

Two vastly different base Nod factions one without Kane, one with Kane.

has it stopped being bad?

I don't think you fully understand the size and extent of Nod's tunnel network. They're made big enough to house entire underground bases. The Montauk is a gigantic mobile command vehicle and it still has clearance from the tunnel.

The Black Hand was always around. They never left, they were just splintered, and Marcion managed to bring them all back after the episode with Slavik.

They don't. Laser rifles are exclusive to Confessors, Nod's combat priests. Confessors are so fucking off the roof in terms of loyalty and combat ability that I'd need a fresh new post just to fully describe them, but for this specific point, I'll tell you that Black Hand Confessors were largely in charge of keeping Nod's ranks from going to shit and its tech from vanishing. They're essentially Nod's high brass. They make the Elite Cadre from Tiberian Sun look like a ragtag look of bandits in comparison.

By the way, Nod had laser rifles since TWI, as seen in Renegade. Why don't you question why those didn't stick around for Tib Sun?

And they did. Before Kane revealed himself to the world in Kane's Wrath, all you had to use were Tier 1 units in your missions. You only got most of Nod' arsenal back when he brought Marcion and the Black Hand back into the fold.

We have a record of you deleting a harmless reaction pic an issuing a ban for it. Clearly you have issue with these threads.

Does anyone feel that giant mushroom is trying to impart his wisdom on that GDI trooper?
Might explain the state of GDI tactics to be honest

no I get the size but we see nothing of it in Tib war.

I meant come around as in get their act together.

confessors don't come back till kane and the black hand does either.

because that enclave were ion cannon'd into ions, not to mention GDI having hand ion cannon tech, honestly Renegade is abit of a joke in terms of what they wanted to do with it and fucks the timeline abits.

they don't look like it though, their tanks and their buildings look nothing like a rag tag group of pissed off terrorists should.

the mushrooms wise words
traps…. aren't gay
ayy lmao

although that's a interesting premise

also I realize I'm redditposting up the ass, please end me.

Well we all know that Tiberium mutation can do weird and wonderful things to organics. What's the chances are it's a GDI General who somehow got mutated into the mushroom and now GDI Commanders come to him for advise?

Oh you mean how Nod didn't do jack shit between Firestorm and Kane's return? Well they did get their shit kicked in pretty hard after CABAL's bullshit, and without either Kane or the Tacitus, they went underground. Actually, Nod didn't even resume actual base building operations until Kane came back.

By the way Renegade was the knife Westwood killed themselves with.

wewlad

who? dare I ask

yeah pretty much and EA was the hand holding that knife

I think we've started something beautiful here.
Some fag that goes around threads threatening to spank newfags. Opinions on him appear rather mixed.

ah alright

Are you asking to be spanked user?

detel this

Over my lap user!

Can't slap my buns if I'm a fucking skeleton.
Checkmate, atheists.

clearly I'm going to need something much bigger

...

That means that spanks will just shatter your ass.

Kinky user, but you are not going to get any sex toys. Only spanks!

Silly user, I have no ass
Woah

...

I suppose if it goes up his butt it will make it equally harder for him to sit.

Then how do you sit?

...

YOU DID THIS
You

What you want your anus bleached now is it?

I did nothing. You are the one that wanted ended for your terrible post formatting. Now I get to enjoy the show.

fucking fleshbags
i swear on me bones

GDI has railguns in Tib Sun. Never even played C&C3, dunno what you are talking about. I'm not going to pretend that tech we have already implemented in regular defensive units in 2018 is impressive.

OK, and? Nod destroyed GDI's mammoth prototypes.

What? Is this some stupid C&C3 shit? Or are you talking about CABAL's superweapon?

So it's not very good. Why invent something that isn't very good?

Picking up shit lying on the ground isn't technology.

That's the easiest thing ever.

Wolverines don't exist?

That's a level of commitment, not a technological thing. To put it another way, developing a nuclear bomb is a technological leap. Building several thousand nuclear bombs in order to first strike an entire country's military is not a technological advancement in any capacity.

Pretty sure GDI just kills them. Why harvest something poisonous if it's useless for factions that aren't doing the C&C equivalent of violating the Geneva convention?

He was programmed to have an attitude? Very impressive. Both are AIs designed to analyze the tactical and strategic situation and find solutions, EVA merely lacks the ability to implement those solutions except through the commander.

Swinging a stick is just a form of energy like an antimatter bomb. Are you fucking stupid?

Nod is probably still using turbines, just not venting the steam and instead getting rid of the heat through thermal radiation. Not terribly more complex, just better suited for deserts.

You sound rattled.

Not just one user getting spanked in this thread I see.

Yes.
When it's a deadly crystal where even a small particle can kill you then you bet your ass it is. Also, tiberium processing tech. But I don't know if GDI stole that too or developed it independently so whatever. But yeah that user is a fag.

take it from an user who used to do something like this way back in the day, it doesn't end well

I'm taking you with me

reading up on it, there's nothing really said about them other then "they use more advanced cooling processes so they don't need to use coolant or some shit

I think the next thread theme will either have to be "GDI Mushrooms" or "Spank & Conquer" at this rate.

...

Wait you used to bleach your anus? Explain!

Sounds like a plan!

He's probably a faggot.

>2018 (((Milo Yiannopoulos)))

I used to ask people for pics of lips

Definitely sounds like we need storytime here.

I'm not derailing the thread for that

...

Too late tell us.

The thread is already derailed
Don't leave us hanging user

I think it's too late for that user. It could make for good OC and I will see if I can work it into Spank & Conquer.

Wouldn't something like Commnad & Spank-her work better?

That's only for the loli revenege expansion pack.

it's not much of a story, it was a different time where I'm not going to get banned again under rule8 because I'm known

Anons like you are what move us forward.

You can't drop a juicy meatball on us like that and not tell us!

You're such a tease, user.

Are you that autist from a few years back who used to post dogs all the time?

so how about those video games

You are just going to get pestered until you tell us you know that right? May as well get the incoming bully over and done with.

Nah.
Thanks for the dog though

Daily reminder this was going to be a unit in RA2.

Attached: ra2-concept90.jpg (594x525, 76.14K)

I'm going to dogpost until that user tells us his story.

Attached: dog2.jpeg (500x667, 33.17K)

You will be forever bullied if you don't tell us.

I remember once sneaking an attack dog into someone's base in RA2 who was trying to infantry rush me. He never noticed the dog chewing up all his guys till he lost about 30 of them each coming out the barracks one at a time by which time he had no money or army left. Was a fairly quick match.

wasn't this based off of the Americans training dogs to attach bombs to tanks but they fucked up and used their own tanks in the training so it was basically wasted effort, same with dolphins

Attached: Feminize_Mammoth_by_thuzadin.jpg (1000x900, 821.49K)

It was actually Soviets in WW2 who trained dogs to run under tanks with mines strapped to their backs by making them think there was food underneath them. It actually worked surprisingly except for one major flaw. They used their own Tanks to trian so come battle dogs just ran under their own Tanks and exploded them.
Also post story faggot

Dogs confirmed for best unit.

Attached: dog please kill me.webm (1280x720, 5.29M)

Have you ever actually played BF2?

Uprising

oh so it was just dolphins to deal with mines for Americans right

yes, it's not as good as 2142, fight me
looks like battlezone

I remember now it was against a friend actually who refused to play me after that. I just feel sorry for the dog after munching on 30 odd conscripts. Must have been unable to walk and couldn't handle another conscript.

Storytime now!

You should have seen the pigeon bombs
also why no story yet faggot?

They only used it on the Mammoth and the Ghost Stalker, and both were decommissioned for many reasons.
Also, laser technology Nod has is far, FAR beyond our real world's. Right now the strongest laser yet can barely take down drones or burn through the hood of a pickup truck. meanwhile Nod's Obelisks have been exploding tanks with 320mm of steel + reactive armor tanks since 1995. Just because we're barely starting to make it somewhat useful, doesn't mean what Nod has achieved isn't impressive.

And had GDI not destroyed the prototypes, Nod would've further developed it into something like their laser technology.

You try inventing optical camouflage that actually makes you perfectly invisible, then. Not even the US military has figured out yet. Better yet, try figuring it out in the 1990's like Kane did.

But figuring out how to make vehicles that can harvest it and buildings that can extract the minerals from it without killing everyone who works near the fucking thing is.

Elaborate. How are you gonna collect it? Just walking up to a blossom tree with a vacuum cleaner and collect the gases that cristallize anything it comes in contact with that isn't a vehicle or tiberium proof equipment? Good luck.

Didn't exist until Tiberian Sun. Chem Warriors were around in Tiberian Dawn long before then.

Have you any idea how much it costs us to build and implement technology inside underground tunnels for civilian use? Have you ever seen what a mining tunnel system looks like in? A massive network of tunnels that spans and connects every fucking continent in the world, in comparison to real life, where even the transatlantic tunnel isn't real yet, what Nod's managed is a marvel of engineering on itself. And that's without counting their actual boring equipment; give me one country that has a vehicle the size of a bus that can burrow underground and transport people underground and even underwater without even needing a digging crew. Our tunnel boring equipment is so primitive that even elon musk wants to revolutionize it.

True, but GDI actually didn't do much in the way of killing veinholes. The few missions where they actually show up, they have walls built around them.

He had access to actual human minds and all their capabilities, including emotion, the ability to formulate his opinions on his adversaries and to outsmart humans plenty of times with decoy buildings and units. I doubt everything about him was programmed.

STORY TIME NOW

2142 is nostalgia although it had good mods. Is there still PTSD from the gamenight?

Does Impossible Creatures count?

Also, I played Cossacks the other day and I don't remember the game being so fast. Or the AI being so easy. Is the online for it still alive?

Attached: considerpug.jpg (255x255, 16.93K)

Holy shit I was tempted to get that game again. I think THQ Nordic bought that and made a fix for it recently as well?

that'd be fun

battlefield a shit over all tbh

Attached: Eselschreck.png (590x484, 504.49K)

For all of the hostfags and organiserfags yes, we actually worked out eventually that a lot of the crashing was because of the 'give everyone level 1 unlocks' tickbox we had on so people could actually play as a fucking medic (server was unranked so you couldn't unlock shit on it). To be fair BF2 also had unlockable guns but half of them were already in the game for other factions and that's not comparable to having to unlock basic fucking kit functionality.

1942, Vietnam and 2 are all pretty good along with the big name mods (Forgotten Hope 1 and Forgotten Hope 2 mostly).

I never played 1942

You missed out lad but we're probably going to do a gamenight for either it, Vietnam (original not Bad Company) or Forgotten Hope 1.

DOST THOU WISHETH TO JOIST WITH TITANS?!
I could never get into 2142, even with gamenights, OG 1942 will always remain my favorite.

From what I've seen and gathered on Tiberium it was actually going to be more 1vs1 to maybe 8vs8 online. Mainly cause you are playing as a field commander ordering NPC units about.

Spanking General is about to go smackdown on Anal Bleach General unless he tell us a story!

C&C: Renegade's multiplayer and Renegade X?

oh you anons think I bleached my anus? no I was talking about some else which seemed to be lost on people

neither of those are actually good

Attached: 4-Acolyte.jpg (160x350, 40.92K)

Funny enough they just added Commanders to that. Renegade X MP is very much like Battlefield. Quite a lot in game files as well still to be added such as having usable boats and planes
I did test it out to see if it would be good for a gamenight and while the game is decent doesn't have enough content to last a full gamenight. Also has some netcode issues, lack of map variety and that autolink to steam issue

Regardless of anus bleach you will be sore butt user if you don't tell us the story.

Are there any Command & Conquer mods for the older battlefield games?

user, your story about how you asked for lip pics can't be that long. Just give us the short version.
Pretty please.

Also a half-done but functional 40k mod that then got swapped to BF2 and then to something else before dying.

It would have been a better ability if it could scavenge from hostile GDI and Scrin units as well.

Frankly The Redeemer should've had an ability to pickup enemy vehicles and throw them at his target.

A place where lolis come from.

The most important thing in C&C and Tiberium sun (that flew out the window after) is that the Nod and GDI rooster fit the lore of the game and the logic of the universe.

The brotherhood is made of multiple cells but with only one leader (or a small council/autonomous leaders) meaning there can be high focus on specifics tasks while GDI is largely NATO mutated into the armed branch of the UN, meaning they drown in bureaucratic red tape meaning Nod altogether is more rugged and less techie, but for specific things they can have designer shit that is light years ahead of the standard issued GDI gear that took 30 years to negotiate and adopt.

The various UN countries widely forbade/heavily regulated Tiberium research because of how dangerous it is.
Nod on the contrary decided it was the future and heavily invested in it early on, using shell companies and third world countries to hide it, made immense profit and had several technological breakthrough on which they have a total hegemony (while GDI tech is simply normal evolution of technology) which they then adapted to their tactics (crystal based techs: light bending; stealth, lasers, semi-conductors; cybernetic, AI, etc…).
GDI being the official UN military has a tremendous of big heavy units that need lots of upkeep (tanks, then walkers, aircrafts).
Nod was a clandestine operation, with light units that can pose as mercenaries/local military and can quickly move for hit and run style attacks, then it became a global union when the GDI decided to quarantine most of the planet, but it's still largely a feudal/cell system.
In Tiberium Sun it goes further, the GDI and their free reign on the planet have achieved near complete mastery of the skies and space, pushing the edge the ion cannon gave them, as a result the Nod did the opposite and dug below the surface to escape satellite recon and air strikes. As a result, GDI gets spaceborne infantry, flying infantry, all sorts of aircrafts the firestorm tech they developed to keep Tiberium out, etc…
Nod get stealth generators and self-burrowing vehicles.
That's why the last good C&C was Tiberium Sun, because the tactics lore, fit the tech evolution, which fit the asymmetric gameplay.

My favorite experience with real-time strategy games was in C&C: Red Alert, before they fixed the grenadier bug in online play.
Order grenadiers to attack the ground. While they're in the throwing animation, order them to attack somewhere else and they'll throw it there instead. Even if it's out of range and in the fog of war.

You just lob shit near potential starting positions until you see swearing in the chat. Then you know where to keep throwing.

Attached: 4.20am.jpg (264x292, 17.33K)

lol
Tiberian Sun suffered a fucking lot for its lore. Nod is massively underpowered in every regard compared to GDI. This is why you almost never see a Nod vs. GDI game in multiplayer.
Btw C&C 3 was the last good C&C, paired with Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun for the holy trilogy of the franchise. Everything else is chaff.

Command and Conquer has always been filled with fun bugs and glitces like that. Disc throwers for example could extend their range and even bounce their grenades over walls and cliffs.

what's a loli

there was alot missing from Tib sun that I would have liked to seen

it's less that Nod is underpowered but more that carryall+disruptor is massively effective, you'd still have Nod in team games but they're always not much of a factor till super late game

Attached: hXFMptx4.jpg (1024x604, 57.59K)

The thing those FBI guys keep making sites for.
Could write War & Peace on that one.

fun night despite tech hiccups

They are way more technologically advanced though. Not being used because they are too expensive hardly means that they weren't advanced, and wouldn't come back as soon as they could be produced better.

This is just game balance. It's literally impossible to make lasers at C&C levels of deadliness without a nuclear reactor.

So still crappy? Might as well say that had Nod not destroyed GDI's Mammoth prototypes that all Titans would get a railgun upgrade. Except that even after GDI's mammoth prototype was destroyed railguns were still useful weapons while banshees are a joke.

US military doesn't care because being RADAR-invisible is way more important than being visually invisible.

Same way you collect all Tiberium?

We've had space suits and radiation suits for decades. It's not hard to create a completely contained environmental suit.

And yet tanks still did, along with harvesters. Presumably environmental suits existed for GDI.

I know, that's why I said it wasn't a technological achievement. It's an engineering commitment.

Obviously Westwood wanted stuff to show up.

Of course all AIs are programmed. He acted smarter than everyone yet was completely destroyed, so not that smart. Only reason he got out of hand in the first place was because Nod was dumb and willing to give him so much power.

Well I had to get some food and a shower but here goes:

Hey guize did you know there was a lot of things from Tiberian Sun that never made it into the final game?
Did you like Tiberium Wildlife? Well originally there was going to be a lot more creatures out there and the map would drastically change over time as Tiberium would terraform the map.
Did you like the Forgotten? Well they were originally going to be a complete faction complete with their own unit roster and campaign.
Did you like dropships? Well not only were you going to be able to use them but you could order in your own reinforcements that you could decide on before a mission.
Did you find Cabal interesting? Well he was meant to be made his own unique faction in Firestorm!
Did you find the Nod arsenal lacking? Well not only was there going to be a lot more units for them such as Nuclear firing Heavy Tanks and Tiberium Based Tank Destroyers but they were going to get a massive revamp in Firestorm and include a greatly expanded infantry roster.
Did you wonder why there were no boats? Well that's because they were cut out of development early due to time constraints. Originally Tiberian Sun was going to feature naval combat.
Did you like air units? Well not only was there going to be more to play with but they were meant to dogfight each other in the skies.
Did you like the Kodiak and Montauk? Well not only were they to play a bigger role in the campaign but they were meant to be armed and mobile providing heavy hitting assitance.
Did you like cities? Well not only were they meant to be very lively but they were also meant to feature militias either civilian or mutant that you could via diplomacy hire for assistance.
Did you ever wonder why there was no tech structures? Well that's cause they were cut from the game although they are still in the game files. You could capture structures like hospitals and civilian armouries that could aid your forces in battle.
Did you like cyborgs? Well there was meant to be more variety of them added to the game and the ability to transform captured troops in Firestorm into cyborgs.
Did you ever wonder how they developed Firestorm so quickly? That's because the majority of the content added is cut content from Tiberian Sun.
Did you ever become nostaligic for Tiberian Dawn? Well not only were you able to capture Tiberian Dawn structures and produce Dawn era units but there was meant to be a Tiberian Dawn Campaign.
Did you find Hunter-Seekers a bit out of place? Well not only was there meant to be greatly expanded AI for them, they were meant to be a controllable unit and the game was meant to feature a wide variety of drones units.
Did you feel some units were unfinished? That's because they were. Due to engine limitations at the time units like the Harpy had no rotar blades in game.
Did you like the idea of destructable enivronments? Well it was toned down in release considerably and concrete was meant to play a larger role in base construction.
Did you think civilian units were just for show? They weren't. You were meant to be able to hijack cars and use them to sneak troops into enemy bases.
Did you like the idea of the Core Defender? Well not only was the idea of Epic Units going to play a part for Firestorm but Nod and GDI were meant to get their own as well to combat the Core Defender.
Did you think the Scrin ship was random? Well not only was it to be expanded but the Scrin were meant to make an appearance as an NPC faction.

Mind is running out of things but I am sure there is more

Attached: tibchemspray.jpg (541x500, 33.79K)

In the case of the Ghost Stalker, they weren't used because despite being portable, it was too dangerous for normal people to use due to the radiation it emitted, and only mutants could use the weapon without dying. In the case of the mammoth, it got decommissioned when GDI realized their expensive multi million dollar AT-AT ripoff got blown to hell by a handful of """crappy""" plasma bombers.

An argument in favor of Nod's technological superiority. They have things even we don't have yet.

Yeah, because GDI invested a lot into radar right? Look at all those units and base defenses that don't have stealth detection equipment, fighting an enemy that is synonymous with stealth technology! There's a reason it stuck around, you know.

Again, the way Nod figured out and pioneered, long before GDI did. Your point is arguing exactly what it's standing on.

I sure want to know how you make a hazmat suit that protects its user against those 1.5% unknown substances and 29% unknown gases it exudes. I bet Kane has the answer.

If they were any good at protecting the user against Tiberium, there wouldn't be a need to invent Tiberium-proof suits.

Because tanks aren't made of fucking organic material. We're talking about infantry protection.

First created by Nod.

So you're saying engineering isn't technological? If so, you're wrong.

Because unlike computers, humans don't work entirely on logic. They gamble more than they act on rationality. CABAL and Kane didn't expect GDI and Nod to team up against them in and pull a zerg rush on him during Firestorm, and he only lost because the humans went full Imperial Guard on him, spamming armies to hold back his own. CABAL may have lost, but he completely defeated GDI's forces and almost obliterated the entirety of Nod in the process, as per canon. Goes to show how well he performed by himself against the suicidal humans. His mistake was that he didn't silence Nod before his rebellion, otherwise he would've won.

Attached: nod's shitty laser technology.png (1152x398, 687.46K)

Man it makes me wonder if there is a mod for TibSun that tries to achieve that as close as possible. And not that later it turns out it has a shit story like Stalker Lost Alpha which has the freemasons in it for some dumb reason.

cap'd for shitposting reasons

Attached: summery of what could have been.png (1800x890, 440.34K)

Well I just forgot about stuff like Ion Storms and Meteors from space that would bring interesting goodies as well as audio files not being complete cause they locked the game before it was finished. In regards to adding stuff it would better to remake Tiberian Sun using Red Alert 2 engine to be honest since there's not only more you could get easily but more to add as well.
If you want some weird shit Tiberian Incursion i.e. Westwood's version of C&C3 would have had 5 factions in it with it ending with GDI, Nod and Cabal being pretty much wiped out by the Scrin who in turn would get their asses handed to them by The Forgotten.

You got a source for all that stuff, my man?

I never knew about this

Pieces I've grabbed together from old beta screenshots, cutscenes cut from game, stuff trapped in the game files as well as interviews from Petroglyph employees who worked on the games. I'll have to dig out webarchive to find them. Some screenshots were in the last RTS along with concept art.

wrong video although interestingly that's a cut Red Alert 1 soundtrack in case you are wondering
What I meant to embed. Example of a cut cutscene featuring the dropship bay.

Hmm yeah makes sense since RA 2 has boat supports already, so it will be relative "simple" to add TS styled boats.
While I like heavy tonks but wouldn't it a bit too OP?

Considering the game had railguns, distruptors, lasers and plasma cannons probably not?
Also interesting article explaining what went wrong with Tiberian Sun development. The game had massive feature creep.
please use archive.is/view/feature/131595/postmortem_westwood_studios_.php

Now I need to track down Petroglyph interviews. Had them before but lost them

Could you fucking faggots stop replying to WOLFSPIDER and actually get on the DTA or MO lobby to play some games? MO is swarmed by chinese niggers and they kick you instantly from any public lobby because they have 300+ ping against anyone not in Asia and DTA is DEAD EMPTY

Twisted Insurrection tried to bring back most of those features while buffing Nod's shit considerably. GDI can still carryall memes all they want and they even get good infantry to counter Nod's new cyborgs, but it's certainly less effective as Nod has better AA overal and disruptors were moved to capturable-tech structures on certain maps and replaced with Railgun Tanks that double as heavy AA for GDI.
Sad thing is that the art direction makes it impossible to recognize units at a glance and the campaing is filled with Commando Mission Syndrome just like MO is.

Here's one of the threads where Petroglyph devs spoke about what was cut from Tib Sun.
web.archive.org/web/20080215040938/http://www.petroglyphgames.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2554

Which reminds me I forgot to mention lighting mechanics and alert announcements. You know those spotlight towers? They were meant to play a massive part of the game as well as the game being brighter since you were meant to illuminate your base with spotlights which in turn would make units easier to detect but also improve accuracy against them.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for someone to notice that. Poor fag isn't even trying to stir up shit.

Is there some juicy drama going on again?

I'd fancy some DTA actually but can't sadly

what I'd like to know is why hasn't there been a dump all the little cut scenes between missions from tib sun/dawn in webm form?

Wouldn't say it has that problem. If anything it's the opposite where all the missions are ridiculous meatgrinders that don't allow for much of any strategy. Everything moves and dies way too fast in that mod.

because you lack the initiative

1942/FH1 at least.

TibWars exe sends me straight to the vanilla game instead of the game launcher, can't load & play tiberium essence. Any idea how to fix this? Its been a while and I'm assuming something screwed up. As a last resort I will scour the internet for C&C3 iso's on shady sites to find one that will work. This is very urgent and I need to play so thinking through this calmly is not an option. Wish me luck anons

make a shortcut and add -ui outside of the quotations

Fuck, how did my dumb ass forget about trying this out. Thank you user you're beautiful

You owe me now nigger. You have to be my friend and play games with me.

I would make a terrible companion. Turn back before its too late

Stop being a nigger and take the brownpill already.

also nice dubs

You know whats fun that not a lot of RTS games did? Global Conquest mode. Warlords Battlecry 2, Dawn of War: SS, and Kanes Wrath are the only ones I can think. It's neat to be able to switch between a global map and then fight out battles on a smaller scale with persistent bases and strike forces that gain veteranacy.

Come to think of it the best RTS games need only have three things. Easy Mod-ability, a map maker, and some sort of global conquest mode for replayability (especially if you prefer single player and got tired of the campaign).

Tiberian Sun pioneered Global Conquest, actually. In the old WW netplay options you could choose to play Global Domination which was a multiplayer-only thing where both factions fought battles for control of the planet, with resets for when everything got conquered and certain technologies being locked on having active bases on certain territories. Sadly, that was shut down along with RA2 MP servers when EA decided to kill WW over Renedade's flop.

I'm lacking in alot of things

I don't really know how I feel about conquest, it just makes me think that it's usually very lacking. I'm thinking I want some kinda grand strat/rts hybrid ya'know not a pseudo grand srat and just 10 or 20 skirmishes rts wise

Rise of Nations and Rise of Legends also had it. Empire Earth III also had it. You could technically say Total War Series had it if you want to lump them into the RTS bundle.

Unlike "commando" missions which consist of one fucking unit that has to follow one fucking path else it gets instakilled, those require at least 300 IQ and leave room for lots of varied strategies. Wait, no they don't.

It sucks that this Conquest mode is only available for Kanes Wrath and not C&C 3 since the latter has a few more mods. If I recall it correctly Kanes Wrath doesn't even come with a mod loader anymore for some reason.
How many commando missions does it have?

A lot of Yuri going on.

Too many and a lot of them require clairvoyance to complete, i.e. knowing what infantry units are hiding behind trees or where to exactly go in the map at the right time. They are just a chore to play rather than any fun.

RTS id the most autistic degenerate genre. It's all about clicking fast, doing the meta and not actually thinking. Turn based is always supperior.

Damn, it makes me wonder what were they thinking when they did those missions. "Lol I can finish this mission easily. t. mission maker". I bet they didn't even tested it with other players for feedback.

Here is your (You).

For what purpose?

More than likely yes. I used to make a few custom missions back in the day but always got other people to play test them. Golden rule of thumb is that although you can complete it, the fags that don't have the benefit of having designed the map won't.

Kane's Wrath could have easily been 10x better if the faggots at EA had just released a goddamn working mod sdk for it instead of jumping ship to work on the next half-assed rush job game. Sadly many other developers seem to be going down this retarded path of making their game unmoddable.

Thankfully, there is a mod called Kanes Wrath classic that while it doesn't completely fix everything does do a good enough job of fixing the economy and removing the bugs that were present in the unpatched version.

I need a good spanking image that can be related to RTS for next thread. Any /d/egenerates out there willing to lend a hand? I want to make Spankpoclypse Tanks

I'd like to see you play red alert 2 and only do "the meta"

Attached: CC_Red_Alert_2_18.jpg (1600x1200, 359.38K)

Kane's Wrath's devs did release the SDK later on on their own accord, along with a fuckton of XML's.
Why do you think there's so many mods for Kane's Wrath now?

If only they can make MO a standalone like RA1 and TibDawn, would save people the trouble of DLing 2 full games, especially when HD Space is concerned

The "official" sdk took forever to release (long after most people had moved on or lost interest), had very little documentation, and took extensive work from fans to fix it's bugs and write additional tools for it. Hence why I said "working" what we got instead was an afterthought.

Also, kanes wrath only has about three decent working mods that aren't glitch filled messes or "muh lol so randum minor rule changes". And two of those mods are from the same author. I wouldn't exactly say there are "many".

11/10
would crash again

I've never had crashes with PF AIs, did you make sure to install everything correctly?

It was in tech share mode if that matters
The installation didn't have any problem in 3.3.2 and the game automatically updated to 3.3.3, don't think the installation is the problem

tomorrow is hell day anons

Will they turn into MOBA and let it die like DOW III or they don't and make it a good and Fun RTS

Attached: Damnation Comes.jpg (1035x394, 47.66K)

either way kickstarter will ruin whatever intentions they had for the game as the backers will demand stupid shit

Wish Rise of nations comabat was deeper, or more engaging at least. Not autistic levels of micro but better than what it is. What a comfy game to play, I love civ type games where you advance in age, RoN combined that with RTS. Wish they made a sequel or better yet I wish I had the brainpower and skill to make my own RoN sequel

in the unrelated news MO got updated today
I missed the save function

It's just Company of Heroes with mechs.
This…could've just been a mod, honestly.

Wasn't that obvious from the trailers?
Besides Company of heroes is still a pretty good game
I'm hoping it has larger map sizes
do you thinks its easier to mod than CoH?

what do lads?
