I only just now realized that there are slight differences in design between the weapons in the Row IV art. Like the harps in the Elysion art: there's more strings on Gran's harp, the silver part on the top is slightly different, Djeeta's harp is a bit more curvy, and the gold-ish thing near the bottom of the harp is completely different.

The new Class Champion weapons seem to mostly be the versions from Gran's art, save from Apsaras, Nighthound, Warlock, and possibly Spartan's weapons. I can't really tell the difference in Spartan's case.

Mystic and Mechanic. With Mystic you'll hit all enemies at once on auto attacks. With Mechanic you'll be able to customize a robot to do all sorts of things, mainly give your entire party full charge bar or do a high plain damage attack with two button presses.

Razia is weird. She has synergy with Limited Eugen because her third skill is an automatic 100% charge bar, but she is inherently a defense character. Her gimmick is to increase her hostility via her first skill, and when she gets hit, she gains a stack that increases the power of her 2 exponentially as you get closer to 10 stacks. Her 10 stacks can easily hit for about 3mil on a decent magna grid, but at the same time, with Ayer and Eugen also wanting to be targetted, it might interfere with them. Its a tough call, and I don't think I can say what comp you should roll with. She is very good at keeping attacks off Hallesena, though.

Ninty actually and considering I had none when I stopped playing and I am back up to 17570 in less than a week it's really not that bad. Granted we are in the middle of an event, but they come round often enough.

The real shame is you having to wait over nine months before you can get a shot at best potato.

Theres no downside to saving for a spark outside of not having any characters in the beginning of the game besides SRs, SSRs guananteed through the pinboard ticket and random rolls the game director decides to throw at you. You can also buy a suprise ticket for 26 USD if you're feeling truly autistic and feel you want/need a good character. Its an arduous road filled with suffering, but sparking during a legendfest/flashfest and getting the limited character you want is pretty worth it, as long as you can stomach the grind. Most people don't immediately save for a spark because they want workable teams.

the roulette fills you with characters, that's 50 crystals a pop for their fate episodes, plus a shitloads of crystals you get for story missions and free quests, plus a shitload of crystals you get for first timing raids and showdowns, plus the 200 daily crystals for the login bonusses. Also the just gave away 6k crystals and 5 tickets.
Saving for a spark isn't too hard.

SR aren't even that bad in most cases. You could collect all the side story characters to help fill out your roster and those missions don't cost nothing.

Save up, and when the time comes, blow your load and reap the awards. Also keep in mind, that while a whole team of ssr characters is great, your weapon grid is far more important, and having a team full of srs or a mixture of one or two ssrs and a couple of srs is not bad.

Basically maximizing your damage output. You are going to want to focus on building magna quick fast and in a hurry. Look at the new players guide on the wiki. I will have Andi scout you as soon as he logs back in. The pots and charge at the beginning of a battle help a lot.

Just remember that each single draw ticket is the equivilent of 300 crystals, don't go spending those. You can get three from each sidestory, so thats a total of 24/300 rolls towards your spark. Sidequests on every island gives 50 crystals on first completion, doing each difficulty of a raid gives 50 crystals on each first clear, doing story gives you 50 crystals with every chapter cleared, new character's first fate episodes give you 50 crystals, doing each co-op mission for the first time gives 50, there's a fuckload of ways for a newbie to get crystals enough for a spark. The difficulty is gonna be not spending them before you have 300 rolls ready. Remember when you get around to it, that 1) Never spark unless its Legendfest or Flashfest where the SSR rates are doubled and you can choose limited characters for your spark, and 2) If you don't roll all 300 on the same day, they'll be converted into cerulean stones, which are worthless.

As for some advice:
Ignore the roulette, it's a rare opportunity for free stuff that comes around once a year.
Instead, see if you can make enough rupies every day to do the daily rupie draws, there's a good chance you can get R characters and you need them even late game because of R only quests.
Also, you have been doing the daily free draws right? Because of the birthday event you get 3 free daily draws. The ticket and two on the draw page.
Please tell me you finished the event, you get a great free SSR out of it and a great SSR summon too that you should max out since it's still relevant by endgame.
And you should do all the side stories but don't farm them yet since there are many free quests for the next few days.

Events will give you the best income of crystals, but for a new player the amount of quests on the map will give a good supply of them. Do as much of the event as you can to get the crystals on offer. Look into trophies too, as they can give a good amount. One simple trophy to work toward is magna raids give a 50 crystal trophy for kill each a certain amount of times. The best income of draws at the moment are draw tickets, which you can get from events and coop dailies. They are worth 300 crystals each. You can buy 3 tickets from each side story, so there are 24 available to new players in the side stories, and there are 2 side stories planned to be added later this month too.

Magna also known as Omega is the class of damage modifier supplied by Magna weapons. These weapons along with the summons that strengthen them are dropped by the Omega bosses. Omega bosses are stronger versions of the six basic elemental primals: Colo, Yggs, Levi, Lumi, and Celes.

These weapons will form the backbone of your grids well into late game suppassing eve normal modifiers in the case of wind.

The new roulette rates are better than the New Year's one you dinguses. They lowered the chance of you getting a ten draw, boosted 20/30s, and tripled the 100 rate though that ones still really low.
The old roulette had more categories, but all the 50-100 ones had like a .5% chance of landing on them.

His nickname is Eusless for a reason. He's not necessarily bad. I used him a lot early in the game. The problem is he is completely outclassed by other Dirt and building stacks is a pain. If you have nothing else he is a good unit if you have nothing else and when his Para hits it can be a god send. Just make sure not to para lightly on boss battles like Baha where you can wipe easily. You need to save that shit until the right moment. If you pop it too early the boss will develop resistance to it fucking you over when you need it to land later. He might be easier to use now that Mechanic lets you instantly fill his charge bar, but you are still going to need >66% on the next Anti-Social to hit max stacks. The 165% damage cap is nice if you are hitting cap regularly, but that likely isn't going to be an issue as by the time you do you will more than likely have a better damage dealer to use. Also 400% ougi is amazing early on when dirt isn't really a beast.

The paralyze is really nice for early soloing though. You can use that and his max stacks ougi to carry you through some of the speedbump story missions as it will blast through some bosses shields. The cool down on Anti-Social is a turn too long with his already high DATA and Charge Growth. You will end up twiddling your thumbs for an extra turn waiting to get the last two stacks and then rush to catch up for the chain burst. If I was going to use him I would put him on a team with Dirt Vaseraga since they both will exhaust their charge bars on their abilities and Vaseraga can help recover some of that more quickly.
Eustace, Makira, Vaseraga in that order to maximize Eustace Ougi buff. Bring a Chaos Ruler line Gran since, outside of Makira, you are hurting for debuffs.

Stratomizer is a top tier weapon. If you are going in for a long fight and you have Sara or someone to keep everyone alive you can build a ton of stacks of CA boost to help you hit damage cap.

So apparently the drop rate for the new magna II are awful. To get the omega animas from them you need 150 animas and 450 quartz to buy the 15 you need to uncap the weapons. To add to this, to move from SL15 to SL16, you need a weapon at SL10 and another weapon at SL3 or SL4 to get the 100% skill rate up. Here how much the stat gains for just for 5* Tia gun: Atk +100, HP +9.

So I found one with a Tia bolt. Seems the really might be 1% at SL20.

Not even a SL10 to 15 weapon gets that big of a boost unless it's massive.
You are right though. The grind is very disproportionate to the actual benefit.

Since Tia bolts are only medium ATK up i imagine it's 1.25%.
Going from SL5 to 10 is a 5% increase, SL 10 to 15 is 2.5% which logically would mean that SL15 to 20 is 1.25%. Which also means big ATK is 1.50%.
So yeah not great.

Seems the best things to grind from this patch are the EMP rings and the uncap on magna summons.

I got a point: For the amount of shit you are having to throw at it in order to get like a couple extra hundred attack power I would call that a bad fucking investment. There is no logical reason why anyone in their right mind would throw away all those items for something so insignificant. Fuck that. Instead everyone is going to devote their resources to everything else. upgrading their Magna summon,eternals, weapons that fucking matter like baha/atma/coda/ultrafucks or really anything else.

Sorry but the improvement does not warrant the resources.

Did you really expect them to give us a SL10 Lumi or Claw? Nah. You should be like everyone else and give up on those two weapons. I thought we just got fodder trash until i went to the upgrade screen. They gave us a fully upgraded main element weapon for each of the base elements. Dark and Light are like, luxuries.

Look at it this way; Cygames made it so that you don't have to go through hell to uncap the magna weapons.

FLB magna weapons were already in many respects the last investment made on a grid, there's plenty of people who devoted their time to getting a 5* gw character rather than FLB their grid, same with coda weapon, same with atma weapon, so what's the fucking difference?

In the end, if the math tells you that you need those gains to get better numbers, you're gonna fucking do it, even if you do it last, and whether it was 1.5%, 2.5% or 4% gains, you're doing that shit last.

Yes because you might get a useful item. Once you gettinh better grids, you can solo them.

I would suggest getting a friend/crew member to solo your hosted Chev/Celeste raids for you. If your the only 2 people in the raid, you have the 2nd place chance of getting a red chest with 0 honors.

Yes as you're always guaranteed a red chest when you're the host, I suggest focusing on those as support than hosting them yourself, you can join up to 3 raid battles at once compared to only hosting one at a time
Bring bounty hunter and use drops to increase your drop chances, they do make a difference
I also suggest focusing your berries on joining raids of one of the main 4 elements, build up your strength in that one element, and then conquer the others one by one
