It's been over a year since the barrier was erected and there have been quite a few new games in that time, I understand SRW V is worth it to at least one user. Also critical is game patches pushing it to need 3.61+ which force you to remain on older versions of a game in some instances. Sadly I expect multiplayer games to address this again, but it'll at least give access to a few features.

Personally I might give the new Bullet Girls a try but that's not a game of quality.

I personally found them to be decent, but it's mostly a matter of taste, so please take it with a grain of salt. User reviews on the japan amazon are mixed (the second Shin got a better reception in comparison of the first) as people, who didnt like them, complained it wasnt really scary, the lack of voice actors (similar to the PSP/DS titles, so beware if you prefer voiced speeches to understand nippon), or the Shin serie taking a gruesome turn due of the higher CERO rating (Z which allows guro) compared to the original trilogy.

Then again I started this franchise with the Shin serie, and have yet to touch upon the original Hayarigami trilogy. So I'm probably missing some context on the criticism that the Shin titles got.

maidump and vitamin are officially dead. Games installed by either will play but you can't use them to make dumps anymore. Adrenaline and nonpdrm are already supported, people are having trouble with sd2vita.

It's mainly since I have gift card money stuck in there at present. Also, it's the sort of game I'm not real sure which other vendors would be willing to stock it given the content. I know pqube's used Rice Digital for stuff in the past, but given that's apparently a uk outlet (at least going off their storefront being a .uk one), I have to question if they're going to stock it there, unless they're still allowed to ship the US/general EU (assuming more countries don't block it) version through it despite not being allowed a version native to bongland.

Enso's exploit was patched out in 3.67, the only reason we haven't had 3.65 sooner is the chicken and egg problem of getting sufficient access on 3.65, which the installer addresses by starting from 3.60. Also unfortunately now the major problem will be game patches, I'm updating some of the games as we speak but it's always possible they'll be broken in future.

Probably. Deliberately architecting their system for less access would result in them being forked pretty quickly. They just won't be doing any work towards things like NoNpDrm for example.

I wouldn't say it is a bad game. It is extremely clunky, but none of the mechanics work directly against the gameplay and there are no major game-breaking bugs. If you can tolerate things not being streamlined and polished, and this looks interesting to you, then it is a rather enjoyable game. My only complaint is that it is a bit shallow content-wise, but I am also constantly comparing it to EDF which has tons of content, because I really want it to become a mini-girl EDF clone.

Considering media (at least games; I know some anime slides by as "Unrated" for DVDs, Manga Entertainment's Noein boxed set, for instance) needs an age/content rating to be sold here, and while Adult Only (or the equivalent thereof) isn't allowed to be sold retail, it can still be sold elsewhere. In not being willing to rate, they can outright deny it release in a given country. They might use "think of the children" as an excuse (and of course kids still find ways to get M rated games, but that's more a fault with both parents and store employees), but it's really a case of "not in my country" from people with the power to restrict and at times deny. I suppose that leaves such import only (and since the PSP and PS3, Sony's been more or less region free), though I have to wonder if such "RC" media winds up considered contraband or not.

Do you mean if the patch takes a game above 3.65, or ability to access servers to download patches off of, or something? Just asking, since I know with the PS3, some sites that host DLC and the like also host game patches to be installed via USB as well, without needing to connect to the official servers.

It, and it's predecessor, actually wound up on my radar because a while back I'd gotten curious as to what the devs of it (Matrix Software, who had made some prior games I knew about) were even doing at the time, if they weren't still just Square's mobile port bitches. Was nice to see them get out of that hole, but at the same time I was left to assume subsequent games would be never-evers out here (until OLZ got picked up).

Still, as far as any attention being being attention, and controversy being free marketing, that works when a game is still seeing a release in a given language in some format (hopefully a region free one). What I've been wondering about, and hoping doesn't happen, is that constant "Refused Classification" type ratings become the way to push "disobedient" (as far as what they choose to pick up and how they handle it) western publishers into line, and render such titles heavily butchered or outright never-evers. I respect that IFI has stated that any game that would require censorship to release, they wouldn't handle, and how they and Pqube seem willing to write off certain countries like Australia at times, rather than dumb things down to secure a broader western market, but I'd think there's probably a limit to that, where enough western countries say "no" that it might leave them to question why they're even considering bringing particular titles over in the first place. Of course, on the other hand there's plenty of games in the past that have managed to get NA releases but no PAL ones for whatever reason, and not even necessarily due to content-related ones, so I suppose if America allows games like OLZ to still slide by as M-rated (and other games places have refused, like MeiQ, as only T-rated), it's more a matter of balancing the marketing and production to remain profitable even if certain countries have told them to fuck off. Or doing Asia/Pacific releases with proper English scripts as a language option at least.

If fucking only. No the main gameplay is your mini-girls navigating one of three rooms to do various things without being noticed by the full-size girl wandering around. Sometimes shooting them to make them "happy" à la Gal*Gun and sometimes just interacting with some object. Occasionally a proper boss battle of sorts where you are mostly blasting away at them as they do random (usually lewd) things and flood out hearts and other projectiles. All this is broken up by masses of unskippable dialogue, and the expected dress-up and item upgrading.

The camera and the control over your character are both terrible, and particularly bad for navigating narrow or awkward terrain, especially since falling too far can kill you. The camera just makes your life unpleasant in tight places, and sometimes ends up with an object between you and it (quite often in places where you'd wonder how the hell they didn't catch this as an issue, like on sniping points). I'd actually say it's probably the worst camera I've had to deal with, this includes games like Castlevania 64, and makes adapting to the awkward controls even more difficult than it needed to be. For that alone I will call it a bad game since it's core to the rest of it.

I'm sure I'll find more to complain about as I get through it, but in short, yet another cute lewd idea executed badly. In shorter, my thing.

Sadly I have to agree with them, as that's where the majority of Vita hacking and game sharing happens. Even shitholes and fundamentally broken communication platforms can occasionally spawn decent communities. I don't agree with posting on there mind.

Fucking christ this should never have made a comeback for regular games. If you're on a firmware that you can use them you're on one that can apply the hacked 3.65 update.

Some countries don't allow importing of RC games like mine. Not that that's always stopped me but still. Also highest ratings generally do affect where you can sell a game digitally it's not just an issue for brick-and-mortar.

Yeah patches can make the game's firmware requirement go up so it's always possible they'll do that. Notably Minecraft, Terraria and Dragon's Crown had to be held back to an older version so you couldn't play online with 3.60. I was running Crypt of the Necrodancer at 1.03 for a while, finally updated it to latest.

PSVSD here. The only annoyances for me was needing to use my official memory card to do the setup, starting with a clean ur0:tai and redownloading all plugins, and finding that updating Adrenaline nuked all its settings (not saves though thankfully).

I'm installing 3.65 enso and it tells me to uninstall all the plugins. I only have nonpdrm and oclockvita in tai how do i uninstall them? do i just delete them or i have to modify lines in the text files too?

Nobody cared about them before they were announced for localization as if there are no children to protect outside of English speaking countries.

As far as I'm aware just deleting/renaming the config that runs them should be fine but the installer should tell you if you have plugins installed and active so there isn't much of a chance to mess up unless you're a fucktard.

I installed 3.65 enso and tried to copy rabi ribi in app to test it, but it doesn't appear when i refresh the livearea.

Install through pkgj (note the J, the original pkgi is dead). Otherwise just make sure the game is in the right spot, and so is the work.bin. Which reminds me, I meant to try that game out. Not today though.

Also switched over to the Storagemgr kernel plugin instead of usbmc. We'll see how it goes, apparently it's wonky with SD2Vita but not PSVSD.

It's understandable for that mistake since most dungeon crawlers on the Vita don't use 3d mobs. The sad part about the trailer is that it really does show that this would have been a Vita release since it doesn't even look too far off from the original, or it could be Compile Heart being themselves with reusing as much assets as possible.

The installer gives everyone at least 2 warnings to double check and make sure everything is correct, there's not much else that can be done if people mess up and wipe their system.

Neptunia Re;translation 2 is finally ported to Vita for those who are interested. Apparently there's now also a plugin to add a secondary patch folder for games so you can mod them easier for ones with existing patches, and it also allows NoNpDrm eBoot modding.

Is that download there a prepatched game file, or just the patch itself (given most translators/hackers only supply the patch itself directly)? I mean, I've seen some big fucking fan-made patches before, but at that size it strikes me it could be either. How much touch screen stuff did they add to MGS3 on the vita? If it is very little a DS3 can bring up an on-screen pointer.

I don't really give a shit about the special moves they added for the rear touchscreen but my issue is the fact that you need to use it to change weapons/items. I was hoping for some homebrew hack that I never found.

Touch screen is the worst thing about the vita. I wish I could get out of sleep mode without leaving a goddamn fingerpint on it.

I feel like the touchscreen and back touchpads were only added because Sony decided they needed to ape certain features from the 3/DS without outright releasing a Sony3DS to capture that market.
Then they publicized it by releasing a few dozen games that used the touchscreen/pads in varying degrees of success. Throwing shit at a wall and seeing what stuck, like they had just released the first generation DS.
The PSTV obviously, since it has no touchscreen can be unlocked with a button press. Why did they didn't think to backport that or do it on the handheld in the first place is a mystery.

Caligula isn't good mechanically but you can pirate it if you want to try. The story is a big fuck you Persona 3/4/5 though.
