Where do I even begin with KH3D? Everyone who's ever made a 3DS chart has just thrown it on there because it exists and they assume that KH usually has good gameplay locked behind an autistic story. Except, in this scenario, the gameplay is just as bad as the story, which I'll start breaking down first.
The story is about as autistic as you would expect for the series, except it dips into SUPER autism near the end. For the sake of not spoiling the game in case anyone has any interest in seeing the games out to the end with 3 coming out I won't go into specifics, but time travel is introduced and kind of ruins everything the stories had going for them. Now characters legitimately just straight up can't die and can come back at will with 0 rhyme or reason, ruining any serious "tension" the story may have still had to anyone. The game straight up ruins everything all the past games were building up, and without effort. Not that the story was ever notable after the first game, anyway.
And now the gameplay itself, oh boy.
Do you like having a huge variety of attacks to choose from and collect throughout the game, only to have the game center around one specific set of commands rendering absolutely everything else 100% worthless and not worth using at all, at every single point in the game, except for a challenge run where you specifically don't use the game breaking spells? Well you're in luck, because Balloon/ra/ga exists, and it breaks the fucking game and there's nothing you can do about it. It's the only actual option you have against anything, everything else has so much floatyness, so much startup/endlag where you're just completely open and straight up can't guard or respond to enemy attacks, etc.
Regular combos are also absolute fucking garbage, and usually end up getting you killed, which is not something a KH game should EVER fucking fail at getting right. Why do they get you killed? Because enemies and bosses straight up don't stagger and can hit you out of a combo you're in the middle of hitting them with and there's nothing you can do about it. Fuck you for trying. The game removes leveling up said attack commands and melding them together, something Birth by Sleep and re:Coded introduced, and replaces that with a Pokemon ripoff.
Now Dream Eaters are some actual fucking cancer. The "good" ones are locked behind extremely grindy and unfun side challenges that you aren't aware exist fully until you've looked up a guide online on how the fuck to craft said Dream Eaters. The game uses "forecasts" to give you specific bonus challenges at specific times, and you can end up wasting hours looking for the one you need which you only get one shot to do iirc. Did I mention a huge amount of attack and magic commands are locked behind them levelling up? Because they are, and you need to grind up every single one if you want to 100% the game, and that is not a task anyone with sanity would willingly do unless they were under 10 years old and thought Kingdom Hearts was some real hot shit that could release no bad games.
The game also runs a solid like 15 fps half the time as well, which for an ARPG especially is really fucking bad. You also need that huge, clunky circle pad pro for original 3DS systems to be able to stomache how the game plays, because doing it without just hurts your hands. This game was not optimized to run on 3DS at all, but these two issues aren't on PS4's version for obvious reasons.
The only really good things you can say about the game is that Flowmotion is fun until you realize that it's existance negates and and all serious platforming by giving you an easy option to just fucking fly over it, which gets pretty boring. The soundtrack is only okay as well, a lot of the songs are hit or miss. The graphics were impressive for 3DS too. That's really it.
If you aren't a diehard KH fan, you're going to hate it and probably ask yourself 30 minutes in what the fuck the appeal of these games are, because if you're basing it on this game alone, you're going to be left with a sour taste in your mouth and probably pass on some of the legitimately good games in the series.

That ending is fucked, you do absolutely nothing meaningful on the cosmic level and YHVH will definitely return to tear into your ass harder than he did Aleph.

Does the N3DS make a difference with performance at all? Though I suppose with all the other flaws you've pointed out, that's much less of an important point to be worth considering

I would have to assume N3DS may give it a bit of a boosted framerate, because I know for sure the max is 30fps. It dips mainly whenever you're in battle and there's more than like two or three enemies on screen. The N3DS does negate the need for the CPP though, obviously, but if you seriously want to play KH3D, just get the PS4 port on sale for $10 max.

that game was amazing for the first half but the second half happens and it made me want to shoot myself.
the second game was broken in that you can just turn off encounters, save at the camp outside the boss room, turn on encounters, chain farm for exp, heal at the camp, rinse and repeat till you walk over the boss.
they did nothing to fix the stupid damage cap too, making non-multihit classes broken postgame which was one of my gripes in the first game.

Is it normal for the Freeshop fork to constantly crash? I installed it when the fork first came out, it recently updated and now it's always crashing and restarting the system. It seems I have to move slowly through the game lists to download anything. Should I reinstall it or is that just something that I have to deal with now? You never need to update the actual system after CFW. I've never had a problem running the most recent games without updating for over a year.

You chose the wrong save type when making the gba rom and gba games don't support sleep mode.

No, I got the rom off of 3dsiso because I'm a lazy retard. I think what happened was that I had my flashcard in. Sometimes the home menu doesn't load when it's in. The 3ds probably writes the gba save after that point where the flashcard fucks up the homemenu loading.
I've closed the game before and it was fine and I've used sleep mode before without problems.

The save error was cause by the person who made the converted the rom used the wrong save type, which can lead to issues. Their is a database which lists all the GBA savetypes.

So I went out to buy a New2DS since my Old2DS is aging. New2DS is on 11.4.0-37U firmware out of the box. Now here's my question/s. Would it be easier to do the Flashcart method or the Transfer method to hack my New2DS?

I did the transfer twice now and it's a pain in the ass to move stuff over. Just make sure to back up your saves/exdata of things you care about.

You have to enable out of region DLC in luma. YOu might have to update the text file depending on what version you are on.

How new are you?

So I followed the guide, and I was able to get a a NEW-3DS too load the homebrew channel, and run homebrew software. I tried again with another NEW-3DS, one that micro SD card already had a much older version of homebrew, back when the Ironfall hax first was revealed, but I never "finished the process" just got homebrew channel to run, couldn't run roms. Everytime I try to make changes to the micro SD card on the computer it would "reset" all the data and files to what it was before I plugged it in after I unplug it. I then tried writing and saving on it when its in the NEW-3ds, but it does it there too. It can't be stuck in "read-only mode" since its a micro SD card, and I'm pretty sure those don't have that, not to mention the it makes a tangible file that stays there up until I turn of the device or remove power.

Pretty sure the answer is the Micro SD card is fucked and it had nothing to do the 3ds homebrew process, but it was "working" right until I plugged it into my computer. I'm guess the card reader fried it because that thing always causes my other microSD cards to be burning to the touch and I swear I heard something different when I plugged it in to my PC. That microSD card has all my old save files and all my legit downloaded "I hadn't gotten it load roms before". Just wanted to know if this happened to anyone else before.

Something of a similar sort happened to my flashcart, but that was years ago and it's since stopped working for me.

What is actual garbage is the new artstyle which you can just pirate the DLC for the most part and the new design for Eruca.
The situational portraits aren't much if they're fucking shit and the new facial expressions themselves being odd(with the only ones being decent being the Gutrals).Stocke also has it bad where the mouth feels odd and the eyes seem lifeless and too narrow(same with Raynie).Nevermind the cutscenes which are better than drawn than the new portraits but still shit,failing to convey the proper emotion for most characters involvedAlso the DLC band-aid doesn't work for those.
Worst thing is the new ending which removes a lot of the punch the original endings had for a "everybody lives" ending with an annoying extra character that conflicts with everything else in the game and is the center of it to boot,with her super special chronicle and position to boot.

From my point of view the remake is worth playing as long as you avoid the new content and get the DLC for the new artstyle.Otherwise in the far-future go straight for the original if the DLC isn't available.

echoes might not be something to write home about, but vfd having bosses last a few turns is average at best. i even tried to gimp myself by using just 1 rune knight out of 9 so bosses would last more than a turn.
a normal skill doing more damage than ex in vfd is as stupid as the bow with a sure crit skill in echoes.

I can sell you my Gateway. It comes with a DS and 3DS flashcart for running the respective games. You can use the same microSD for both, but each cart only runs its respective games.

So I am playing Etrian Odyssey 1 on the NDS and saw there is a remake on the 3DS. Is it worth it? Is it emulatable through citra? On Citra's cite it is says Great for IV and V as well as perfect for Etrian Mystery Dungeon, but noting for the Untold series.

I can say Both Untold 1 and Untold 2 run, though I didn't get as far as battles. Untold 1 has a slow-down in cut scene, which Untold 2 doesn't. But other than that I would think both would run without a problem, like the other games in the series. Untold 2 and EO IV even have undubbed versions, which is nice.
By the way, I am still lacking that shitty bad word list and I am not sure if this is not going to cause some problem eventually, as stupid as it seems to be. Can anyone help me with that?

Skip the Untolds, they don't add anything mechanically and aren't enough of a graphical/gameplay improvement to warrant your time.

Skip the entire edtrian odyssey series, the games are all shit.

Untold adds some QoL and looks better and better balance than 1 had, purists hate that the story mode reveals something early that you learn later normally, and if you're a completion you can only 100% the game going from story to free mode
Untold 2 is dlc ridden and just about everything became an hp sink because the game was balanced with the new class in mind
Untold is fine and a decent replacement for 1
2 is better than untold 2,

The bosses in the second Untold are also badly designed, in addition to the hp boost almost all of them has hp bloat adds as opposed to the more straightforward versions in the original game. This makes them a slog to fight.
