You must read books to learn

Anyone else never read books yet after learning about x philosopher and his ideas you realize you thought of the same thing and have created similar beliefs before reading a little about them?

Are humans really that stupid that the cant sit and think for themselves? We got a ton of time to think about ourselves, our nature, our impulses, the other people's behavior, their words and most importantly their actions.

Yet i keep seeing people reading books and only then changing and telling themselves they are better by adopting someone ELSE'S idea.

Since i was young i despised reading books, i had my own ideas and my own beliefs, why would i read someone ELSE'S thoughts and more importantly why would i get cucked by someone else's beliefs? I instead when i was bored i would think and create my beliefs based on my knowledge of human nature through careful analysis of my own nature through self awareness and later on through other people's behavior and that way i have created my own beliefs, not by reading books or listening to tv or anyone else.

And throughout life there were multiple times in image boards where i would say something and someone would mention certain things such as kelly's personal construct theory, marx striner's egoism, and when i googled them i realized i was saying similar or almost the same thing as these people or other ancient philosophers.

So after this, why should i not feel good for myself when i see i have a certain level of independence, at least compared to other people since you can never truly escape human nature, even if you try to be "free" by believing you have no ideology that very behavior exists to make you feel better and thus once again you are chained to human nature, even a self sacrifice is nothing more than a petty attempt to feel better about yourself, it isnt something magical or good.

And more importantly, why should i feel sympathy towards the billions of close minded, human nature controlled ignorant delusional morons with no self awareness who live blissful lives and cause problems to the word because their nature is in complete control?

Why not both?

Why would i care about someone else's thoughts when i can think for myself and create my own beliefs?

Not only i am not the creator of that person's thoughts and have no true control over them until i have learned what lead such a person to such conclusions which includes the person's thoughts, behavior and not merely what he says he believes lead him to that conclusion but also i am not a cuck to bend over and be controlled by someone else's thoughts.

Most of the time that i have bothered reading something is to confirm wheneve or not i and that person have said/thought something similar.

And if we talk about other areas such as physics, they might be useful to know, but i have little interest in them to know.

The beliefs i made are my own, i have complete control over them and understand them far more than anyone else, why would i need something else?

...

Other people have noticed things you haven't because they have knowledge you don't have. As well as to learn the history, something you can never know on your own.
All your thoughts all your words are inventions of someone else anyways.

pretty much. it's why I have little interest in philosophy, it's just pointless drivel written by people with too much free time and narcissism

Infinite space will never be explored without preventing low Autism Level invaders from infesting white countries

And am i somehow supposed to trust them? I dont have their knowledge, thus i am unable to confirm whenever what they say is correct or not.

And by "borrowing" someone else's thoughts you have no control over you are not able to create systems and ideas who are your own because you depend on something else, someone else you dont fully control to create that idea and that makes the idea far less easy to control, manipulate and understand.

History is a trap, people lose themselves in history as an attempt to feel in control and as a result close their minds and ignore everything that goes against their "history will always repeat" belief and also become useless in conversations since they cant discuss the new data if it doesnt support their belief that history will repeat itself and thus in a way are in control

Psychology is a superior, a far superior method for understanding humanity and the human species and thus solve its problems, because humanity's problems are often caused by humanity, history is bloated with information you dont know, small events that might have mattered but you dont know about them and more importantly it shows only one tiny scenario compared to the infinite possibilities that could have happened only if a tiny thing was changed.

Psychology lets you see such possibilities, if you understand the human species, then you are a little qualified in creating systems that will work with humans in them and will become efficient long term and are open to the infinite possibilities of human behavior instead of merely "lul that is bad for my system so i ll ban it and call it illegal, that will surely stop it"

Of course, thats how I became a marxist.

But reading Marx really helped me put it into words better, since he spend his whole life writing and researching it, while I am barely an adult yet.

'no'

I was going to respond but then

Yet you use the term "became" and given yourself the label marxist, someone else's name and someone else's ideas.
I have seen this "helped me put it into words", "helped me understand life/open my eyes" and this has happened multiple times on multiple ideologies including nazism. So it really isnt very trustworthy if people can say that shit for many things they just happen to read first and be controlled by them.

I am talking about creating the same beliefs and simply finding out that marx said the same, that means you thought the same way as marx but you are in control of your beliefs, marx isnt the owner of said beliefs and in part you if you accept him as your savior

Age has little to do with this, i had created a big part of my belief structure as early as 16 and merely keep expanding it slowly after the years of experience, yet no matter how many new experiences i see, everything keeps explained by the basic nature of humanity that i have created only boosting my confidence in my beliefs i dont see many people sharing, neither online or offline

Cucked is the ultimate form of submission and lack of dominance, throwing away yourself and accepting someone else's beliefs/morality/etc

You don't need to accept everything in a book to read it. There is a reason there is no Hegel of the middle ages, all thought is based upon previous knowledge, and you are affected by it whether you like it or not. By reading books you may get to think of some things that you wouldn't think of otherwise.

People who adopt any position that is written in a book, and therefore is constantly aligned with the ideology the last book they read promoted are fucking retarded, but that is a poor excuse to dismiss reading in general. You can't have a full picture of humanity if you know squat about what people before you thought.

You're supposed to sceptically analyse their theories and perspectives, not just dogmatically accept them. Maybe they have better examples, on the other hand you might have better explanations. Learning about other peoples theories, especially if they had more time to develop them, will at least not harm you, that's for sure.

But in the end, what does it matter? Why should you care if what you think was your own theory, or someon elses? Do you ever think about eating? Well checkmate atheists, someone else already through about that, so shame on you. And I bet yoi didn't derive all the day-to-day mathematics you use by yourself either.

The last point I'd like to add is that certain theories are particularly hard to develop, if one operates unconsciously within the dominant ideology. Reading and learning from people who lived in different times and different places about their theories, can help put your thoughts into perspective, even if it's only a mental exercise.

Jesus christ mate you sure are one angry fucker. It doesn't matter if you thought of it independently, the thoughts already exist in the world, lots of people already agree with it and they use the name "marxism" because that is historically the first person to popularise the ideas. Its just a fucking name so people now what you talk about you fucking special snowflake.

Because there is no record of someone thinking it doesnt mean same thoughts havent existed
Only if you are reading something new and if you have a brain you already have thought that
A person who thinks has already thought about the things that MATTER to him and his life and about humanity if that is his goal, if it was important and useful you would have thought about it already.

If it is just some minor detail then it doesnt really matter much

I am not referring to those, i was referring to the people whose lives were changed by reading a book or books

Nobody said anything about that, but you cant deny the fact that people's lives are influenced by other people's thoughts aka books, the moment your life is "changed" severely by a book it means you were most likely an idiot who couldnt think for himself and thus adopted the beliefs of the book and became controlled by it, "it makes sense, i agree".
If you need a book to find out what makes sense then you are not thinking hard enough and simply adopting someone else's thoughts.

That is why when arguments start you will often see people stop thinking and throw names around, it is far easier to drop responsibility to someone else than think for yourself.

Once again, those examples are not mine and thus unless i would come to the same conclusion i could not use them, and if it was something that mattered to me, i would have thought of good examples

It will harm me, my time will be wasted

Because one person is in control, is knowledgeable and can play with their beliefs while the other is cucked by them, controlled and owned by the beliefs, you become a tool

That often is a sign of a tool, being controlled by the dominant ideology of their time, being controlled by the beliefs of the current society or even the people close to them.

That is how society sadly operates most of the time, tools follow the norm, some people thought see the norm as being irrelevant and care about more important things

Will never truly be trustworthy, you cant know if what they say is true or not, it is so easy to make up an example and say you show that because it sounds so normal to you, you dont know waht kind of things have influenced them, personal life

Not only you cannot confirm the things that lead them to that idea thus you will never be able to control that idea until you create it yourself, you also cant trust them, especially when some create their ideas based on a political climate that no longer exists or is relevant.
And even if that climate were ever to exist again, it would be far better to think for yourself than depend on others

And like i said before, only a person who owns his ideas 100% if able to think and create more flexible ones instead of be constrained by other ideas you dont truly own

Listen you fucking nigger, everyone "philosophizes" insofar as they lay wake at night and think about the world, everyone has some secret thoughts to different degrees. And that's exactly why you need to read books you dumb cunt. Whatever "clever" idea you thought up has been already thought through a thousand times and refuted a thousand times more. Unless you're a prodigy your ideas are probably shit and infantile.

This phrase is telling a lot about you.

Literally everyone does this. Are you 15 by any chance?

Reading wikipedia is not the same as understanding the content of their ideas

You are 15 after all, aren't you?

YOU are that person, this sort of thing is exactly what that sort of person would say.

Yeah, you're right. Who would want to waste their time reading theory, rather than efficiency discovering it all yourself.

this

Yet most people follow what they are taught, books, society, inner circle.

That is why most people share common values in each community instead of create them themselves

You can pretend ll you want that everyone is equal but reality says otherwise, and based on your emotionally charged response full of insults you feel inferior and lash out in a way to defend yourself, like almost all humans do, always lack any ability to truly have some semblance of control over their nature

That is true OP, the problem is there are some cucks on leftypol who love to dickride philosophers

Just the other day I posted about how Marx was simply the messenger and that anyone with enough critical sense could reach the same conclusion, then some retarded marxists claimed that I was wrong kek

Insults = Inferior
Is that the best you have?
This is exactly what is trying to make you understand. It isn't that simple.

From that logic. I could say that you feel inferior because you are obsessed with not being a cuck. Or that you feel inferior and therefore try to project your own insecurities onto everyone else. So it isn't you who is the sheep, however, everyone else who is a sheep. Get over yourself.

The only thing that annoys me to no end about leftist philosophers is academic culture. Sometimes you read 10 pages on a topic and at the end think to yourself "this could've been summarized within 10 sentences".

i feel the same way user, Stirner wasn't a revelation for me. The labor theory of value wasn't a revelation for me. The people who need to read to know are fucking scum. You shouldn't feel even an iota of sympathy for most people. Empathy, yes. Don't lose your humanity or ability to feel. But, sympathy is unwarranted. I feel the common person's pain, i don't have any intention of alleviating it for them. The people telling you off are mental midgets with no sense of Self or ability to connect with reality using correspondence and self reflection (as you explained, that you do for yourself). Most of the people on this board are waiting for another strong personality to lead them into the abyss. If you have power, use it. Ignore them, they're weak

I read because I have nobody to talk with.

mathematics isn't philosophy, your triggered sperging about "checkmate atheists" tells me everything i need to know about you. weak

what is it exactly that you do "different" from others? Walk on the road instead of the pavement? The only thing you "do" differently, or rather think you've mounted some sublime truth, is see the world through different axioms. Poorly thought out ones no doubt.

The reason people share common values is not so much that they are merely thought but rather accept. Those who disagree move out and find like-minded others, form their own communities, and the cycle begins anew. Just because you decided to "rebel" (limited to your own thoughts rather than actions) against whatever values or axioms doesn't necessitate others haven't been thinking about their life, it just means they arrived at different axioms, which doesn't validate your own, mind you.

>everyone has some secret thoughts to different degrees.
You are a dumb faggot with zero reading comprehension. Read again what I wrote in the original post, all of it.

This is a chan, insults are casual talk here. And faggots like you OP need to be reminded.

this is low energy. You just make blind assumptions about OP's intelligence and then even more sweeping assumptions about how and why people associate. Not even factoring in familial duty, religious affiliation regardless of belief (i'm muslim because mommy and daddy are), sexual propensities (i'm a socialist if she is), laziness, ennui (anarchism sounds fun!) etc. This kind of shallow thinking is characteristic of someone who thinks they already know enough. Because they get their knowledge in servings from people who whipped it up for them. I am only siding with OP because auto-didactic learners are a rare thing in this world.

back to Holla Forums

i just get so easely distracted

I know there's a million leftist books to read, I wish there was some kind of order. There are only so many hours in the day, and I'll gain nothing from reading Lenin's scathing critique of the Kamchatka chapter of the Cadets.

Boy, you got my ol' brain buzzing I tells ya what.

He is clearly spooked by books. So much that he gets angry while reading them. He just thinks he is smarter than others because 90% of the population doesn't care or is incapable of intellectual pursuits.

t. Insecure dumbling

Why should I believe that OP is objectively smarter than everyone else. I don't know him or how smart he is. Just like he doesn't know others or how smart they are. Since he made the assumption that everyone else reads books because they are stupid. I made the assumption that he is spooked by books. I am just following his own logic to make a shitpost. Also, I rather want to be an insecure "dumbling" than a pretentious oblivious fool who lacks self-awareness making assumptions on Vietnamese pottery forums.

There are a lot of people who follow doctrine obsessively, but you shouldn't react to those people by not reading other people's ideas

I'm not one to put any philosopher on a pedestal, but I do realize that other people saw things like human nature from another angle.

Both sides are equally worse, one creates a group of angry reactionaries easily manipulated by what is being broadcast into their world, one can't adjust their beliefs to the 21st century.

It's like the people who were turned off of Marxism by the USSR. You are one of those people, someone just says "Communism, you mean like Stalin" and they instantly abandon all their beliefs.

You're a disgrace.
The very fact that you're capable of writting right now means you've been indoctrinated into "someone else's ideas", the difference is, you'd rather be useful cattle and satisfy yourself with base-level knowledge and perspective that have been deemed necessary for you to participate in society rather than seeking out more in your own volition, and you honestly believe that makes you a better person in any way, i hate this pretentious allegory but pic related.
You're primmie-tier or worse.
Is not something you know, it's not something you've quantified, it's stereotypes that you've developed that ring true either because it relies on circular logic or because you've managed to misrepresent or ignore contradicting evidence.
Lots has been written on human nature by philosophers, artists and nowadays scientists, very little of it fits Holla Forums's slanted worldview.

You're fucking retarded.

I promise I will side with tankies if you guys gulag all the "science isn't philosophy" people.
