In theory the church is built on state owned land, which he "illegally" seized, so at any moment some politician could decide to take it down and destroy his life work, but that's the entire reason he started building. I've been working on a document trying to note all the weird shit that it has, but it's still pretty hard to work out sometimes, since it gives you many numbers like attack damage in only a summed format after each part of the damage has been multiplied. So rather than "this weapon does X physical damage and X lightning damage, and is considered slash for its physical damage" all of the weapons in this game have 2-4 damage types, and damage multipliers are applied to each different type of attack which are also affected by resistance multipliers by enemies' armored and unarmored parts, which do not seem to exactly match with the playable character's armor values. The spreadsheets I have so far seem to imply it's a linear trend, none of this quadratic or logarithmic bullshit Borderlands 2 pulled, but it's still a system of "try X attack with each weapon in a specific class, make an educated guess on which damage types apply to that attack, put the series of equations into a matrix, solve, simplify, and hope there isn't any negative solutions." I'd say I'm being a little nutzo about this but it's been a spare time endeavor over months rather than huddling up next to my computer shouting over the hypothetical instance of a patient zero required for the plot to be sensible. I mean most of the lore shit is like, "here's what caused X. It was probably Y, but it might also have been Z."
