Is there any point to Berserk anymore? Guts already got cucked out of his wife and child.

I get the feeling Miura thinks the same way.
He churned out a short post-apoc story about a wrestler drinking robololi piss, in a normal timeframe, years ago during the boat arc.
Yet keeps Berserk gets less than half a weekly shonen worth of story in between months of hiatus.
Pretty sure at this point he is completely burnt out, and has barely any idea where to go with it.

I think he mostly wrote himself into a corner, as early as the end of the Golden Age. Can't get any bigger emotional response from the audience than Casca getting rapped in front of Gus and the baby becoming a demonic abortion. Where do you go from there? Gus murdering Griffith? How do you fill the time between these two highs?

Berserk works better as a worldbuilding point than it does as a story itself, though the copious amounts of edgy monster rape and pederasty grate.

At this point I'm sure Miura doesn't want to do Berserk anymore but feels the obligation to finish it, even if it takes him centuries to do so. Add to that the frustration from Gigantomachia not taking off, Miura is now a man healed by loli which also marks the shift in tone of the manga, he just wants to be left alone and he's willing to sacrifice Berserk for it.

I guess it's good that he's gravitating away from the edgelord stuff. That said, he ought to end Berserk and make a new series - this time with what he really wants to do.

Might be compounded by the fact that Berserk was started back in the day when rape and mega-ultra-giga-nigga violence were somewhat common in stories and his manga continued to survive. Nowadays no manga could get away with what Miura did in his stories since manga is now as mainstream as video games.

The rape of Casca and scenes like it (AKA the on panel satanic orgy for about 10 fucking pages that included a character kissing a dude's snake dick) simply do not happen with such gratuity in stories today.

Gigantomakhia was his attempt to start something other than Berserk, and probably the only chance he got from the magazine to start something new up. Considering it never took off, I'm willing to bet he has no other potential source of income other than Berserk to boot.

What exactly makes your argument different from that? Every time you take an outlet out of someone's hands, like it's done in other countries, the very supposed crime they set out to decrease increases. in other countries where certain or all media is banned, the sections of crimes it provides an outlet for is starkly worse then countries that have that outlet.
