Why did Nomura's designs go to absolute shit as soon as Yoshitaka Amano stopped doing the character concepts for Final Fantasy?

Because Yoshitaka Amano stopped doing the character concepts for Final Fantasy

How long to you think it takes to fix his hair up in the morning?

Nomura seems to go through phases with his designs, like his most current one is edgy ironmans

No idea.

Because Nomura is a hack who needs someone to base his designs off of.

Well what about brave fencer musashi and parasite eve 1 and 2? To my knowledge, Amano didn't have anything to do with those games.

Is that horns or hair? I'm genuinely confused.

Because Nomura is one of those gay fashion designers deep inside.

Is hard to fuck up designs in Parasite Eve when the only "fantasy" designs you can make are the monsters.

When you don't have a creative director that doesn't do their job of overseeing and monitoring the designs, that's what happens.

It's because his handlers got replaced by retarded suits after the company merger.

Yes,

Why did they have Amano do the character concepts in the first place if they never fucking used any of it in-game?

Because he can't stop drawing trannies the same way Nomura can't stop drawing faggots

I have never played any of his games, how should I know?

I think they did up until the playstation FFs.
It was his character portaits in the menu screen at least.

Is that why Amano did a Sandman comic? Because there's trannies in Sandman.

You answered your own question you dumb faggot.

Those designs seem to be making their way into marvel movies instead.
At least the haircut.

More likely he glued pieces of plastic to his head and dyed his actual hair to match.

This is most likely your answer.
Blame the moe and bishonen culture that japanese suits have been pushing and pandering for years.
Kingdom hearts character designs and even the story is disney fault, they have to be approved by them and this explain the very long delays too.
The recent Xenoblade 2 characters Metsu and Shin were designed by Nomura.

Looks like Wei Yan and one of the FFXV boys wearing a mix of Dark Knight and Dragoon armor. How does Nomura still have a job?

Fact:
lauren Faust, yes even the pony designer, is a better designer than Nomura.
Simply because she adheres to simple and clean rather than overdesigned with 12 belts.

MLP has good designs if you keep in mind it's a show for little girls.

Because it's free money since all of his competent superiors fled the company, if Nomura actually gave a shit about his position he would have left a while back instead of showing up piss drunk showing off Sora with a chainsaw sword to Yidsney about a good decade and a half ago.

...

Son let me let you on a tip of old weeb wisdom. In Japan folks can stay in positions to the highest of their Peter Principles because if you are that one guy associated with that one giant fucking hit, and the old higher ups are still running the company? You get free reign, and nobody, I mean nobody will topple you or fire you in the process because you had those series of hits back in the day.

Tetsuya Nomura is a hack fraud who could never amount to anything without being kept in check by his peers and higher-ups.

He wanted to turn FFXV into a musical after seeing the mediocre Les Miserables adaptation, SIX YEARS INTO DEVELOPMENT. That was the turning point where he was kicked-off FFXV as lead director, and it's rumored that something similar will happen with Kingdom Hearts III soon if it doesn't release in 2018.

That's based off an original Kirby you uncultured shit.

That would have been better than the 15 we got.

Not to mention the colossal fuck up you'd have to make in order to get fired from a corporate job in Japan.
Those guys don't fuck around, they'd take those jobs for life if they could.

Don't lie to me.

It only took them five fucking games. And then they just did it for that one game.

He a Human or Hume/Guado or Tree-Person mongrel hybrid. You can find FF fans who defend his ridiculous stupid hair with dumb shit excuses like that, Nomura is just a hack after Squaresoft and Enix merger without his mentor Sakaguchi reigning in the retardation.

Amano's more of a true artist than a video game character designer, his shit isn't always the most adequate or eye pleasing at first, i also think he wanted to be more of a fashion designer.

I thought Disney just didn't want Sora to have a real sword. Didn't know he tried to push for a chainsaw sword while drunk.

Who cares, Kingdom Hearts is shit anyways.

first Nomura wanted to make a game starring Mickey but Disney said no. Then he pitched Sora
The original design for Sora was a lionman with a chainsaw sword
Then he got a key
Then he was made human

Amano pretty much single-handedly revitalized the art of Ukiyo-e (woodcut prints, which had been outlawed a few centuries prior due to being used to mass produce pornography)
design-wise, he brings western visual elements into his decidedly eastern art process, resulting in something that feels unique and alien
not bad for a guy who got his start on Speed Racer.

Just looked into this; can't see anything about the banning of wood-prints. just some stuff about regulation of political works. You have any facts?

very rare sora

I get that anime hair is supposed to be crazy but holy shit.

You literally answered your own question.

I still don't think he's that big of a hack.
The Bouncer characters looked cool, and amano had nothing to do with that shit.
FFVIII is one of the best games Square put out if you go by aesthetics alone. I don't believe that one had Amano concepts either, and The Bouncer looks a shitload like it. He should have just stayed "there"
FFXV is almost a call back to that era, but everything else is fucked beyond repair.

You do know different artists work on different aspects. Nomura had nothing to do with the aesthetic of environment design. It was all Yusuke Naora and his underlings.

Also FF VIIs characters (i know you were talking about viii), were never conceptualized by Amano. Nomura came up with it with direction by the writers. Amano FF VII art was based on Nomuras design.

Bascially Nomura is chuuni as fuck.

I've heard FF8 character designs were based on Square staff at the time, Squall being based on Nomura himself.

I like his ideas for Batman.

I'd play as it.

I like Catwoman. At least he got out of his belt phase, I hope.

...

He’s off of belts and starting to use more plaid.

is that femto

Like said, you answered your own question. Nomura was, is, and always will be a talentless hack.

What other anime Amano did work for? Aside from Vampire Hunter D and Speed Racer?
