YPG is an imperialist proxy furthering the balkanization of one of the few sovereign Arab states left

Jesus what a waste of time, learn a language that isn't LARPing nonsense and that you can actually use.

...

...

...

Find more people OP. And start a daily kurmanji thread.

Just as the bourgeois were revolutionary in the context of feudalism, nationalism in the global south is revolutionary in the context of American capitalist imperialism

Nationalism in the global south is usually an ideology of American proxies. Assad himself was once willing to torture people for the CIA - though a fat lot of good it did him.

First meeting is concluded. Lot of good comrades on Holla Forums we will be metting pretty much every day from now on at 4PM ET, and we'll continue to grow and expand. also feel free to drop in any other time if you just want to chat or whatever.
If you missed the meeting but still want to learn, study the alphabet (first lesson of Learnkurmanji.com) and the first page of this PDF by tomorrow.

as always, fuck Islamists and tankies.

This is great. I hope a lot more famrades will join in.

reposting link to Baran Rizgar's kurmanji-english dictionary

watch out for the Israeli-British-US trained ISIS rebels and make sure you exchange your illegally seized oil for untracable bearer bonds and not us dollars ;🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

1. Why discord instead of IRC?
2. Why a time-limited gathering on a 3rd party application vs chatting directly in this thread?

In any case, it's a good idea.

...

Because one of the main reasons for group study is to practice speaking.

There's a reason we are learning Kurmanji (Syria, Turkey) and not Sorani (Iraq) akhi

...

...

I'm not surprised tankies don't understand what a state is though

I bet you're one of those """"anti-imperialist"""" retards that think Syrian ARAB republic and Syrian ARAB army is an all-inclusive, anti-imperialist force fighting for Communism

That's even worse, the Kurds have next to no historical precedence/population in Syria and are basically pulling a landgrab while occupying the land/houses of Assyrians, Druze and other minorities.

Learning any dialect of Kurdish is largely a waste of time and mainstream Arabs will look at you like trash for using Kurdish words if you interact with them.

lmao I didn't know Kurds teleported to Suwaydah

Wrong. Only Hasakah is where Kurds has only recently populated.

There's a reason why Jabal al-Akrad and Hosn al-Akrad were named as such. Those areas where formerly Kurdish populated who eventually assimilated to Arabs. Not to mention there's a reason why Afrin is the only Syrian region with native population of Yazidis and that is because of their longstanding settlement in the area

You won't speak Kurdish to Arabs obviously. Not to mention it is in bad taste to cater to their prejudicies

Kurd haters might as well be saying 2+2=5. Don't know why they're so triggered by a fucking study group though. please take your inferiority complex somewhere else.

Kurds for the most part the lowest class and are universally hated by most Arabs, this goes for both Syria and Iraq. Largely they put themselves in this situation by fighting against basically every government in any area they occupy regardless of what concessions are given to them.

There are Druze in north Idlib and Efrin, also i was talking on a larger timescale than just the current conflict. There was no significant Kurdish population in Syria prior to the Armenian genocide and Yazidis =/= Kurds. Not to mention that the Kurds recently have been fighting the Yazidis.
komnews.com/rojava-peshmerga-clash-yazidi-forces/

A fort is not a settlement and Akrad is a term used for nomadic sheepherders from the Syrian mountains and does not exclusively refer to Kurds.

Everyone on this board supports the Yazidis, who, guess what, are affilliates of the PKK.
get lost, nationalist scum.

The only ones in Northern Syria live in Jabal as-Summaq in Idlib far from PYD territory so your claims of being forced out by YPG is bullshit

They speak Kurmanji i.e. they are Kurds. The fighting is only between RojPesh and YBS. Don't forget YBS was established as an affiliate of PKK and YPG (after YPG and PKK saved Yazidis in Sinjar mountain from being massacred by IS).

Your misconception is that we support "Kurds" as a whole disregarding the fact that we only support KCK and view other Kurdish parties as bourgie trash.

In fact I view Iraqi Feds better than KRG since at least they aren't as tribalistic as KDP and PUK

Kurdish is a real language, Esperanto would be LARPing nonsense.

As a PKK supporter I would disagree on Yezidis being Kurds, KDP is trying to forcefully Kurdify them while PKK is offering them self determination. If a Yezidi considers himself a Kurd, fine, if not then fine too. They shouldn't be forced under any collectivist ethno-national identity.

Not to mention that the Kurds recently have been fighting the Yazidis.

KDP's Turkmergas have attacked PKK backed YBS, we support PKK not KDP.

We are starting in a moment. Come in and join

today we worked on introductions, questions, and pronunciation.
Study Tips:
Flashcards, writing out, and labeling common objects around your house with their kurdish name to get in the habit of referring to them by their Kurdish names

also got new learning material, including a book on grammar for anyone who speaks french

If you want to use the electronic flashcard program Anki to study, you can download these pre-written cards
rojavaplan.com/uploads/kurdish/kurmanji_cards.zip

Also, I haven't posted these in this thread yet. We are using these PDFs mostly to study.

Cards are anki2 files. Think you need to export the decks as apkg files so others can use them.

Imma get a Kurd on next weekend.
Stay tuned.

Today's session will start in a few minutes. Newcomers always welcome.

study the first two lessons in Kurmanji for beginners, and try to memorize the word banks, then also read about gender in Kurdish.

Aye.

I'm sorry for not joing up yet, but I won't be able to until next weekend

bokan.de/laperekan/zman u ferheng/Englisch-Kermanji.pdf

Wordlist I found online. Homework will also be posted in this thread.

It's socialist utopia so far famalam

When is this homework due for?

You'd be better off learning Russian and fight for genuine anti-imperialists in Novorossiya instead of an US-Proxy.
Okay yeah forgot this is a liberal board

Tomorrow. It's not much, just practice.

...

...

What's even the point of making these statements in the first place when they wield 0 power and their opinions on whom to support are totally irrelevant?

Tomorrow?
Holy shit, some of us have jerbs, hevalno. Please keep it at a pace where the bar of entry is not too fuggen high

I made some flashcards you all can study for the first lesson.

quizlet.com/193547830/flashcards

Not an argument

learn Kurdish numbers in an hour.
quizlet.com/193712917/flashcards

be aware there are many dialectical differences between Kurdish numbers, for example didu vs du, yanzdeh vs yanzde, Dozdeh vs dwanzde, sih vs sî.

It's 1 page, bruh.

starting today's lesson in a few minutes feel free to join in if you're new, or you just want to listen.
discord.gg/YTyZbFw

I know I haven't joined in on this yet.
I promise I will sometime next week. I've just been busy.

That's fine. over the next few days we're just going to be studying the first 3 lessons of kurmanji to get them all memorized while other people get a chance to catch up.

>in spite of this, the main organization, which holds together all forces fighting for Rojava (which discarded that Kurdish name to avoid any strain of nationalism) , the SDF, is 60% Arab
It seems to me that you have a broad definition of nationalism.

Souns good

we'll be starting a new lesson in about 10 minutes. Join up!

When is the Kurdish guy supposed to be coming on?
