The single most pointless censorship move I've ever seen was in World of Warcraft. During one of the expansions, I think the panda one, there were quite a few low level pants gear that suddenly turned into short-shorts when worn on female characters. This was either right before or right after they added a feature that allowed you to make any armor look like any other piece of armor if you have both pieces. Within a month the shorts were changed back to pants quietly without even so much as a patch note, as far as I'm aware at least, and I've never seen anyone on any WoW related website mention it either.
