It seems like right after all the pushing of the XboxeneX420XSSJ4X the brand quietly died. You still see one or two articles now and then about that shitty 'games as a service' pirate game rares dead husk is shitting out but beyond that it feels like microsoft has finally given up.
Did the xbone X sell far below estimated numbers? Did the rise of the Nintendo Switch and its amazing sales cripple any rise in potential new users as kids would much rather have one for things like Mario Odyssey than a console whos biggest games are "the worst sequel in every exclusive ip" and minecraft?
because i don't know anyone who bought the xbone x, see no adverts for it and dont actually think i have seen them in game stores locally at all.
So are they queitly giving up or just pulling back to their core US audience which seems to be all they have left?
The Switch is set to overtake the Xbone this year, I think. Not console warring, but I wouldn't be surprised if either this or their next console was their last. Microsoft only had one truly successful console and that was the 360, even then it was only a hit because of how hard Sony dropped the ball at the launch of the PS3. When you boil it down, the Xbone is just a worse version of the PS4 with less games, if such a thing is even possible.
Ayden Wilson
A friend of mine is a manager at a gamestop. He says niggers are the only ones that buy Xbones, and they usually come back at the end of the month to trade it back for cash when they realize a bag of weed is more fun.
James Stewart
they built up an enormous install base on the 360 and brand recognition. they then executed Order 66, which was to try to leverage that into taking over the living room set top box market. at this point nobody under 50 had cable and so nobody wanted the product they were selling. it was shit for a lot of other reasons, too, but they really marketed it as
Jordan Wilson
Discussing consoles pros and cons is not console warring. It never was Unlikely, they want the living room space filled with their hardware and software as well and Microsoft has Millions upon millions to throw away. They've successfully cut back down on production costs and marketing and somehow still making a profit. It actually managed to impress me after the 2013 fiasco, then again, a sucker is born every minute. They'll keep pushing their garbage
Gabriel Foster
They're still trying to make waves, like trying to buy pubg and bluehole. But their new, stronger console doesn't mean much when they've got nogaems. And before then they were porting their exclusives to PC due to all the flops, so they have even fewer exclusives to try and market for the new xbox one x.
I think what truly fucked them was the fiasco at the beginning. They lost so much support due to their forced always online spyware shit, that they were unable to recover and catch up. It became a vicious cycle of nocustomers = nodaevs = no games.

it didn't help them trying to push kinect in the beginning then shitting on the people who truly believed then having a much slower console than the competition due to MS's beancounters saying that the price difference in DDR3 and GDDR5 (which was actually almost nil when the machines came out) wasn't worth it then because of that the xbone was much more difficult to develop for than the PS4 due to the stupid last-gen-style eDRAM split memory pools plus the locked down Windows horseshit OS requires more resources than the PS4's and to cap it all off NO FUCKING GAMES the PS4 doesn't have a lot of games but as a PC gamer there are a few reasons I have one and I'm pleased to own it I've considered getting an xbox one S for my family because we own every single rock band DLC song and you can play them all on rock band 4 but ultimately it's just sunk costs fallacy all over again, there are no fucking games otherwise, it'd be a $200 (used) rock band machine
Noah Russell
I thought it did already? That’s why you seeing publish skipping xbone in favor of switch and PS4.

No. You have six hours of pain.
Grayson Lewis
You have this many hours to get on top of the immigrants or I am going to start using your SSNs to send dildos across the world. Get swole or go home.
Juan Smith
I am glad it finally died, the xbox was shit from the beginning.
The profit they had from the successful 360 was impacted quite a bit by rrod all day every day, but what killed the xbox was the xbone and the whole kinect disaster and the fact that is has no exclusives.
If only all consoles would die, that would be stellar.
Leo Diaz
w-wut? I don't get it.
Europe gets rid of immigrants or we're going to be swarmed with a sea of dildos?
On another note, I really liked my xbox 360, had a lot of fun times with it, playing GTA4 online with friends, making fun of Mexicans and blacks who couldn't shoot straight.
Then they had to go and blow it all by saying something stupid like T.V.
Jaxson Long
Go ahead, with the ban evasion. You simpering faggot, that pays no attention to the real problem.

I'm not console warring, PC is objectively superior but if you've never had the experience of a comfy console in your life then I feel sorry for you user.
How comfy the ps1 and ps2 were growing up, playing with my brothers split screen tekken, then on the xbox 360, raiding my younger brothers xbox 360 party while he was playing modern warfare 2 quick scoping snipers only while i jumped in using assault rifles pissing him and his friends off. Ah good times.

This. Microsoft can endlessly throw money at the Xbox until the heat death of the universe. They don't care if they make money; if they get a single console into a home, they win as they have more of their products collecting data and marketing towards you.
I think you're the goon in this scenario, user.

The multiplayer of gta4 was a lot of fun, none of the mmo lite bullshit of gtaV. No grinding for money, it was a lot of fun. I wonder if the PC version still has an active population.

What gets me is the name. What is it with this bullshit of trying to memory hole previous entries in something? In videogames I get that it's because people may feel intimidated to play the second game in the series without playing the first, but in a console? Also let's not forget that the suits thought this brilliant name would get people to refer to the Xbone as "The One". Yeah, right.
William Hernandez
Replaces the past. Like how when people mention Doom, the other person thinks Nu-Doom, not original Doom. And the younger generations will only really know Nu-Doom. This. Although honestly I never really had any comfy moments during the Wii/360/PS3 era. Some games were fun, but I never felt comfy or felt like I was having fun like in previous era.
PS2, Dreamcast, and some PC games at the time was the last really comfy time for me.
Honestly the easy piracy at the time made it feel even more comfy too. No guilt over wasted money and a huge library to download and try and finding great gems.

In an era of Government spying they tried to release the Xbone spy box and when there was a backlash they said OK we will not make the spy camera mandatory but were also going to take all the good things we promised away and just release another 360. They shot themselves in the foot right after gaining a pretty rabid following with the 360.

Xbox isn't even for chads or graphics autists at this point. The PS4 has been stealing that image with their own shooters (as if normalfags really ever cared if was halo or not), sportsballs and cinematic nongames, and even the fucking Switch has FIFA now. And it's obvious that PC is always going to beat the shit out of others in terms of Graphics. It's just a fucking fly-trap for people who blindly buy the console for god knows what reason, as they get cucked by microsoft with W10.
The most baffling part is that Microkikes still think that xbox is such an important hotshit pillar of console gaming that they won't give it up until console gaming completely dies.
Carson Taylor
You forgot the most important part: Friend lists. Xbone faggots couldn't abandon them. Universal cross platform and Xbox would've died this gen. Now they can pull out a new gimmick for gen whatever the fuck we're on now. they should really count PS4Pro and XboneX1Shiggydoowoop as partial gens
Henry Martinez
yeah but its not because nobody makes high end pc games any more because they don't sell. so all thats left is shitty multiplats like battlefront 2.

It's amazing just how engineered these systems are for psychological manipulation. People bitch about lootboxes, and rightfully so, but a lot of the same psychological trickery that underpins microtransaction marketing are baked into the features of UIs of mainline consoles as a means to keep it's users brand loyal and buying more products.
Achievements, all the social media integration, activity feeds - even the act of paying to play online is a sort of retention scheme by fooling the customer into thinking they're actually getting something worthwhile for their money when they really aren't.
Or rather, they are - they're getting a subscription to a shitty game of the month club which is basically just a means of guaranteeing monthly sales to boost attach rates. Yet they flip it around a bit, selectively promote certain services with dedicated servers (while staying quiet about how the vast majority of their services are peer to peer) - leading the assumption that you're paying for a premier gaming network AND getting free games! How can Microsoft and Sony manage to pack so much value into a $10 subscription and still make a profit?! Financial wizardry!
Along with the friends lists, Achievements serve to build up a false sense of investment into a platform - making it harder for customers to walk away from that ever-growing gamerscore (which MS has also deftly turned into a monthly competition on your friends lists - buy more games and beat their goy-score!). Meanwhile the social media hooks, clip sharing/achievement unlocks/etc, are just there to increase the viral potential of games by putting it in front of the eyes of everyone on your friendlist and club roster each time you interact with it.
It's really quite disgusting and impressive when you stand back and look at it.
Brody Morgan
The brand lives on in the land of the brave mass shooters and free to wear body armour schoolchildren.

They aren't enemies. It's a predator/prey relationship. It's really more of an ecosystem that mirrors nature than what many people want to admit. They don't give a fuck about you beyond what they can extract from your wallet, or what they can leverage you to the degree that you can get other people to pay out more.
At best it's a symbiotic/parasitic relationship, and at worst - it's predatory - but in the end, they're just making money and you (for better or worse) are inconsequential to them beyond your utility.
You're not the enemy of cows because you eat beef, nor the enemy of sheep because you use products which contain wool. No matter how informed or oriented towards self-interest you are - engaging with these companies, on any level, makes you the cow - the sheep. The best you can do is to either pirate (which will make you an enemy), or negotiate your own terms for engagement to get the maximum self-benefit out of an exchange.
Funny how that idea, of the customer being wary and judicial with their purchases, has become out of fashion lately. People started taking the "Take my money" meme seriously and literally, and have moralized consumerism to such a degree that the Jews must be getting friction burns on their palms.
Jackson Harris
Gamers are frankly consumer whores They don't do research. They preorder. They buy loot-boxes. Their completion rates for games is 40% on average, constantly going for the next hyped game.Steam sales: lets buy anther 20 games we wont even install!
I've decoupled myself from marketing and advertising and I do not miss it.
Jordan Morris
No, your fellow consumer is your enemy. Publishers make what sells.
Luke Campbell
I don't get why they didn't at least aim to have a decent graphical edge from the beginning. That always seemed to be the selling point of the OG Xbox, in bringing over the crossover PC gaming crowd. With the 360 they kind of lucked out in that 3rd party titles often looked noticeably better, not necessarily through any effort of their own.
This gen though from the beginning the word was that the PS4 had a decent edge. They could have just had that one selling point, even if just for word of mouth that gets talked about by normies at the water bubbler at work. Ideally something closer to the One X, but at launch not years and years later. Of course software is then another matter entirely.
Justin Cook
The best looking PS4 game looks like shit compared to anything on PC. 8th Gen shitters can't even run GTAV or MHW at a steady 30FPS.
Juan Nelson
I want to HEMP the entirety of Microsoft's server infrastructure. Would that even be as devastating for the entertainment/tech (((industry))) as depicted in contemporary mainstream media?
Julian Lee
Hold on, I just realized. Did we ever have a xbone thread that didn't use this exact OP picture?
Brandon Nelson
And that is another reason to raise awareness to normalfags so they start abandoning it all, little by little.
And what the hell is a predator if not the enemy of the prey? "They don't give a fuck about you beyond what they can extract from your wallet, or what they can leverage you to the degree that you can get other people to pay out more." -> That makes them our enemies. Any interaction with companies like that must be done in order to harm and end them.
Not Gamers. Normalfags. They would do the same thing in any other medium.
The mindless cattle are not the enemy. The exploitative companies are. All of them.
Evan Gray
really simple, they looked at the data and saw that more people were watching Netflix than playing games.

Consoles died when they started being online multiplayer boxes above all else (so yes, 7th gen basically). The Switch is really just a specialised tablet/handheld with a gimmick ability to be played more comfortably when at home so it's questionable if it should be counted as a console generation at all I don't mean that negatively, it fills that niche well and all.
Michael Rogers
Nearly all of the Bone's exclusive games are coming to PC. So the Bone is just being treated as a low-end PC.
Dylan Walker
Pretty much 2007 again is the number of the Beast and was the year that truly made console online games mainstream. Installation times, needing storage and a navigation menu just made me fuckoff from the systems for good. The successors of those two being underpowered at launch and having the same trends attached to it with even less games on them just made me fuckoff for good. The Switch is literally a Nintendo branded Tegra tablet with licensing agreements. I'd say it still falls in the console category somehow on
Gavin Gomez
Switch is 8th gen, get over it. Plenty of companies released multiple consoles in one generation before (Sega with SG-1000 and Master System, NEC with TurboGrafx, TurboDuo, and SuperGrafx). Just because Nintendo did it doesn't mean we all have to pretend the next generation is out.

With normalfags, the Xbone X is doing reasonably well despite being last place, PS4 is strong as ever being split between old PS4 and PS4 pro (the pro version is less popular), the Switch is blowing up in a big way, and PC still has generally the same portion of the market it always has, though support for PC tends to grow slowly.
General combos: PC only, PC and Switch, PC and Switch and PS4, PC and Xbone, PS4 only, Xbone only, PS4 and Switch, and some retards who will actually buy one of everything.
Xbone X is for those who are really casual with games and can barely even explain why they chose Xbone (brand and "strongest console"). PS4 is either the sole game machine for a slightly less retarded casual or the person likes games more and will talk about the exclusives. Switch has those sweet Ninty IPs and the portability factor plus decent to strong third party, so its just growing and growing. But no one JUST has a Switch. It's always an additional console, or added with a PC. PC is PC. Nothing new. Often complements a console, or is the only games platform. It's honestly a pretty damn good time for video games these days.
These insights are slightly skewed. I'm at tech school in the Air Force in a cyber job field, so obviously there's a specific demographic here. Probably more Switches and PCs and less Xbones in general, and 95% of people here play games. Also ton of people watching anime.

In high school a friend of mine had a side business making 360s loaded with pirated games and selling them, so we'd go over to his house on weekends, order pizza, and play 4-player splitscreen CoD for hours on end while crammed into an attic too short to stand up in, two of us sitting on a couch a hand's breadth from falling down the stairs and the other two sitting on the floor. I got hundreds of hours of firsthand experience with every mainline CoD game from MW2 to BO2, and playing tonnes of shitty hack-and-slash dungeon crawler games just because they supported 3- and 4-player co-op. Sometimes we'd go back to emulating Mario Kart Double Dash or Fortune Street on Dolphin if we couldn't find anything.
I don't know how many hours I spent being a riot shield low tier hero against that one shitass who'd use nothing but akimbo P90s and Stopping Power the whole time, which was tough because we were on 200% health and I needed 4 hits to kill him. I remember becoming very familiar with the way my character held the shield as he ran and positioning myself so the bullets would mostly graze me, then running in and fucking him while he reloaded for two minutes. Shotguns only on the map Rust was another great time, because after MW2 every "small, close-quarters map" was progressively larger until you got to something like Blops 2's cruise ship map, which was the size of many medium-large maps in MW2 and 3.
Shitty pizza, shitty video games, and good friends. Nothing like it.

I was actually excited for achievements at the start. Finally a record of your gaming accomplishments. Now they can't even be fucked to put in a "complete the game" achievement most of the time.
Basically I fell for the meme and I feel stupid.

There's literally nothing wrong with achievements as long as you're not a retard who buys games just to increase your e-peen. As long as it's a game you like, it's just something to give you more challenges you might not have thought of.
Some people go overboard though. Like someone might not start a game if they're not sure they are going to like it because it will affect their total percentage, or stupid shit like that.

A while ago Yahtzee made a comment suggesting Microsoft are trying to become a gaming PC manufacturer over time, and honestly that's probably what the smart thing would be to do. They already have the connections, the consumer base, and the hardware compatibility, and they made it a point to try and make Windows 10 as gaming friendly as possible. If Microsoft has a future in gaming it is certainly on the PC, assuming they don't continue to completely cock it up like they've been doing ever since 8 came out.

About achievements, I actually remember a lot of Xboxfags who happened to play on PC once in a while defending GFWL because the achievements were shared with their Xbox. "So we go into the meeting and four o'clock Valentine's Day–Bill walks in he's holding a Powerpoint deck and yells, 'This is the blanking insult to everything I've done at this company' and that was the start, so we all looked at [Xbox director and designer J Allard] because we knew Bill's mad about the no Windows thing, because we forgot to 'pre-disaster' him, so J is in shock for a minute and Bill yells at me and shuts me down and Robbie steps up and Bill shuts him down anyway, and then Ballmer goes through and says we're gonna lose a lot of money and he's beating us up about that, hours go by its five o clock, its six o clock, it's Valentines Day! Most of us have something going on!
"So we spent years working on this and looking at each other and convincing them this is the best plan, so finally one of the observers at the meeting just raises his hand and says, 'What about Sony?' and he says, 'Sony is slowly invading the living room with a processor here software there, they could be a threat to Microsoft.' So Bill and Steve stop and look at each other and go, 'Yeah…what about Sony?' And so Bill turns and says, 'I'm going to give you guys everything you want' and Ballmer repeats the same thing. And I turn to Robbie and say, 'That was the weirdest meeting I've ever been in.'"

If anything, food, basic healthcare, and shelter should be free, while you pay extra for luxuries - because you're not going to ease a non-working population into the workforce by providing them with distractions. You need to cover basic survival so that they can focus on being put to work - and use the luxuries to incentivize them into getting better jobs and being more productive as a means of raising their quality of life above the bare minimum functional squalor.
Charles Lewis
I think Red Hat's efforts are overall a clever means to make the Linux ecosystem no better than Windows. And it's very nearly succeeded, too, outside of a few stragglers and Gentoo-based distros.
Gavin Richardson
I don't own either of them and honestly I don't fucking care, my point was that the Xbone is now 3rd place and falling behind Sony and Microsoft fast.
Joshua Gomez
Are you ok with paying for fun? I prefer getting it for free.
Fun must never become a luxury. Having fun can become an addiction to something that is not essential. You start to pay for fun, and sometime later, we have shit like lootboxes, paid DLC for games before they even release, and all other predatory practices. Always have fun for free and never pay for entertainment. As for food and everything else, you only deserve to live if you are productive (as in, producing essential services) and capable of feeding for yourself.
Brandon Jackson
Reminder to stop responding to bait. It's the same user who does this all the time to derail threads.

If you are a useless soyboy, that is your problem. Human beings have work to do. We also get in shape when we aren't working, as well as taking care of other aspects of life, such as family or interacting with friends. Entertainment is a small and completely non-essential aspect of life. Whenever it is available, it must be free because of it's non-essential purpose.
Michael Lewis
Golly gee, that sounds like you are a creature that lives by doing things.
Any and all form of action is you not laying down and waiting for death, user. We don't have to do any of these things, knowing that we'll die one day. All we do is keep ourselves entertained if you will until we bite the dust. Societies thrive by not being happy communist faggots who get everything shoved up their arse but offering rewards to the smart and the strong. Play is absolutely vital and essential for animal and human survival.

The Xbox was been an unprofitable failure for most of its existence, propped up solely because Microsoft kept throwing money at it out of their desire to own the console market. And without them trying to artificially make it succeed in a market that doesn't actually want it, it's going to die pretty fucking fast.
Jeremiah Myers
wasn't manjaro at the center of some recent controversy

Why buy a console if you want graphics?
Chase Adams
I dunno, not being sarcastic I really do not know. The last time I checked was about a year ago, when iirc most of their team decided to become Alpine to avoid or dump poetterware. I run a couple of different distros but for now I'm okay with manjaro on my shitposting machine due the comfort level.
Ethan Walker
The Xbox never really had anything to offer hardware-wise and the only reason it ever had exclusives is because Microsoft paid or outright bought devs to make exclusive games for it. My point is the Xbox succeeds only as long as MS is willing to throw fucktons of money at it without caring whether or not it turns a profit. If they're no longer willing to do that, and it doesn't look like they are, the Xbox quickly fades into oblivion.
Jeremiah Rogers
I am not owning one of the current generation consoles, but I can see the logic behind it. On a console you can see the graphic evolve over the time of a generation, as the developer become more experienced with the hardware. Meanwhile on the PC the transition is more janky, improvements on graphic technology are constantly made but few games actually use them and it takes years for a new game to come out that really pushes the ceiling.
Xavier Perez
Well yeah, that's how console makers usually get third-party exclusives. They should have focused more on that.
Zachary Myers
Why would you want to wait for graphics? None of this shit matters anyway, nowadays most graphics look like shit.
Mason Gray
Once upon a time consoles got third party exclusives because certain games were only possible on certain hardware, or it was more economical or easier to develop for X instead of Y, or this platform was more popular than that platform with the demographic you wanted to reach. But with the Xbox the only compelling reason to develop exclusives for it was "because Microsoft either paid you to or bought your company and forced you to". There was never any organic reason to say "you know what, I'm going to make my game an Xbox exclusive".
Adrian Diaz
most exclusives were done for financial reasons in the past. The industry has been designed this way for a very long time.
Mason Johnson
That hasn't been the case for a long time.

The Xbox/Xbox360 was the Golden Age. It took a lot of effort to build it, from Doom, to Goldeneye, to Final Fantasy, to Ultima, to the original N4S, but when the Xbox/PS2 generation hit, that was the golden era, and it kept going.
Remember the glitz, the glamor? All the excitement when next gen consoles, which at the time were the 360 and PS3, were launched?
Now its gone. All gone.
Cooper Green
A redundant one too, since smart tvs typically have spycams for videochatting.
And it was massive overkill, the 360 already had everything you needed for Netflix/Hulu streaming and downloading.
Henry Edwards
...
Blake Gomez
The Bone failure is a drop in the bucket for them. iirc only the 360 in it's last years was profitable in the whole XBox brand. They don't give a fuck if it fails, since they can retry over and over again until they manage to get their box into every household as a second Windows system that everyone uses for TV and shit.
Xavier Morris
since the 4th generation NEC, Sega, and Nintendo have competed for developer support. Taking on projects and making partnerships. Console manufacturers created technology to appeal to developers and answer their concerns. The Playstation existed because developers were interested in CD technology and 3D, the market was, and Sony assured them their platform would be good to work on (it was) and in order to secure their support they helped fund the development of the games.
Literally all the best games are produced by these platform holders saying "hey, give us a pitch, if we like it, we'll talk contracts and arrange funding." It's why Nintendo had fuck all third party support and why third parties often talked shit about how Nintendo worked, because they generated a lot of baggage for how selective they were with third parties during the N64, dragging over to the GC, and the wii put them into a position that people wanted to develop for it to tap into the market it had.
The industry has worked this way for a long time in order to break it from Nintendo's vice grip during the third generation, and because of it we got a greater variety of games and the best games ever made. We need to go back to it because it gave us the best games. Microsoft broke it during the 7th generation with their multiplatform policies and how they arranged exclusives, how they empowered western studios and funded journalists to discredit Japanese ones.
Andrew Taylor
BTW everyone, the Sega Geneis is for sale for 40$, and it includes over 200 games on the console.

The jews and the leftists.
Such is the fate of letting any industry to spread to all demographics. That is why keeping companies and studios always low and unable to grow too much is the best way to deal with it.

Remember when the Xbox had mech combat simulators with actual controllers that got you immersed and made you feel like you were really behind the wheel of a walking tank? Those were good days.

The Kinect fucking killed that, all those "comeback" games with a shitty motion gaming gimmicks, fuck you Microsoft, it's bad enough you abandoned PC gaming by fucking it up with Games for Windows - Live and gutting all your PC game studios, but you had to ruin everything with Kinect.
Nolan Sanders
It's not like microsoft was a friend of PC gaming before games for windows live, and they didn't make any good games either.
Ethan Brown
They acquired several PC game studios like Ensemble, wasted their time developing games for the Xbox and Xbox 360 only to shitcan them one after the other till they ran out of money and Microkikes just closed them, fucking assholes.
Jordan Diaz
I'm still pissed about Ensemble's closure. Way to kneecap the entire RTS genre, assholes.
And the salt in the wound is they announced the closure during development for Halo Wars, robbing them of any incentive to redeem the Halo license before it was given to 343. Why did anyone agree to make games for them?
Lincoln Peterson
The living room itself is dead though.

You couldn't be further from the truth. You forget normalfags. Normalfags always do things with their friends or in a social setting. Think of how many games STALKER, Thief, etc couldn't work in a social setting, and are more or less unknown to normalfags. Then think of how many shitty games are "fun with friends" everything is fun with friends.
Noah Mitchell
On the contrary, i believe they lost the race when they backtracked. The original xbone concept was a devs paradise. The always online was to go with the could system. That, along with the datamining and the lock on piracy would have won them quite the exclusives. Not to mention that they killed kinect. The voice commands in games like skyrim and me3 were quite fun. Small integrations of kinect comands in multiplat games would have gone a long way. And kinect games were fun, if you had the space to play them.
The original concept would have given devs so much room, the console would have done well on its own, with little investment from microsoft.
But they thrown everything away, devs have no reason to prefer xbone over ps4 and the brand is dead. Microsoft wasn't ready to invest in exclusives, so they ended up empty ended.
There is no recovery from this fiasco. The next "xbox" will be a w10 desktop tower made by alienware.
Michael Wright

I'm surprised Apple still hasn't leaped on what might be the only opportunity they'll ever have to market their PCs to game developers. But then again Microsoft failed to leap on the one chance they had to take back the desktop while Apple were distracted building phones and tablets, so maybe it's a courtesy thing.
Hunter Murphy
Besides the anemic GPUs, delayed drivers, decade old OpenGL, pushing Metal instead of offering supporting Vulkan, hilariously lax updates for their entire desktop line and the fact devs are more than capable of building their own machines for a fraction of the price?
Liam Lewis
If they made their online services free, people would buy their console.
Joseph Young
But technically, the people who worked on your products are being paid, sometimes even the ones behind all the cracking and hacking are on some autist's payroll or patreon.
The idea behind it is to make fun of a particular type of linux-worshipper that treats anything that doesn't have observable source code as sinful (despite most linux-worshippers not even bothering to look into the code itself, expecting other autists to do the work for them) and anything but free shit is acceptable to them. It's not trying to diminish the accomplishments of open source software as much as pointing out that, by its very nature, it can never ever be a finished product, unlike older software distributions behind a paywall or freemium stuff. Obviously in the last 5+ years what constitutes a finished product has drastically changed and increasingly more companies are more than happy to charge full price for pre-alpha versions of their shitcans, or forcing users to switch to their systems *cough*win10*cough* by pointing an imaginary gun at their heads and telling to accept the graciously free offer Michaelsoft created for them. But nevertheless it's undeniable that nine out of ten times shit behind paywalls is more stable than free shit, even if it's in infinitely smaller percentages of "safe".
Half of what you posted was either bought off by corporations or of dubious quality, bordering the free-NSA-pass kind of deal, but you're not wrong at all, there CAN be open source and successful systems, but it's the over reliance of some folks on supporting open source rather than supporting what's good and functional that is being heavily mocked by online communities.
Pajeets are only a tad bit better than Chinks because at the very least they do not pretend everything is working in their products, Chinks will go out of their ways to act as if bugs do not exists and no known solution was known at the time of release.
Lincoln Clark
But it is still fun at the expense of retards.
Nothing wrong with enslaving entertainers and having entertainment always for free.
It does not matter if it is good for the developers if it is shit for consumers. Nobody wants to be spied. Most companies fail to realize that: your specs and approach to your associates means NOTHING when you have some gimmick that is hated by the consumer.
No, they would not. It had no good games for a long time. XBone was born with "TV! SPORTS! LIVING ROOM! SPY CAMS!" shit. Everybody just left, as we wanted video games and nothing else.
As long as it is not with our money, good. Never spend on fun. Have fun for free. As for street-shitters, what you described is exactly what they do, no?
Chase Richardson
Microsoft actually released plenty of games for PC after acquiring companies, not all of them bad, this before they released the Xbawks of course, after that it was the reverse, paying companies and acquiring them to port and make them exclusive to the platform.
Is this some sort of historical revisionism? Always online and being forced to pay for Kinect were the most reviled thing I have ever seen. Nobody, from the core playerbase to normalfags like it and only the most dedicated fanturds defended this shit. Are you for fucking real?
Kill yourself
Oliver Morgan
This. I shared anime, manga, and hentai with a good amount of people on my ship in the navy. This is what happens when normalfags all have interest in the same shit. Same music, porn, movies, and books. In a few months everyone had the same shit and burned through them. Meanwhile I had all this "bizarre" stuff they never seen or wanted to get into. They watched DBZ and One Piece but had no idea what else was out there. Within a few months I would get requests every few days for 2D related stuff and music.
Didn't you hear goy? That seed you're using has a copyright on its DNA so you can't harvest your seeds yourself!
It shouldn't be a replacement for scoring systems either. Scores no one could gain were something worth bragging about. Now scoring systems are usually only found in arcade games.
Lucas Miller
Never endorsed the buyfag mentality. Only retards spend money on things they know won't really enjoy. Buy what you want to actually support, instead of being like Mark, who's desperately trying to relive his yiddish youth by buying more and more Nu-tendo shit. Pajeets are competent programmers and technicians on average. They're also a people that openly defecates, bathes in a river that hosts more dead than alive at any given point in the day and whose role in every military conflict was "play all sides at the same time and side with whoever accepts our specific branch of pan-Indianism". That should tell you enough about their psychology: they can't be arsed to be reliable, but they're cheap and work with very little. Inversely, the Chinese meet all the deadlines and finish all the projects and have a hundred thousand scientific papers, yet they all rely on the fact that they can swindle you long enough to get away with it. I've had the unfortunate experience of having to fix a relative's not-Ipad model from a few years ago, the chinks bootleg industry that manufactured it literally taped the electronics with…duct tape.
Jason Ortiz
That hasn't been true for years, and it's certainly not true with current year consoles all being slightly modded x86 pcs running standardised APIs. It's not like the PSX where you had a huge leap in graphics between FF7 and FF9. Console games today just walk a balance between competetive graphics fidelity, cost, and hardware shortcomings are made up for by dropping the frame-rate, tweaking settings down, and rendering tricks to lighten the hardware load. It's has nothing to do with "learning the system". These machines are explicitly designed so you don't have to waste R&D learning them - to the end goal of making software as simple as possible to port and leveraging that to court/secure third party support.
PS3 and it's cell processor is probably the last you'll see of custom designed hardware in consoles.

Back in the old days, when they got bored of vanilla shit, they used to just start fucking each other in the butt until they got to port and were able to cut loose.

Evan Rogers
Deal with it.
About buying: the thing with entertainment is that it can become an addiction, easily exploited by companies. On top of that, the last decade proved (again, mind you) that when entertainers are given money and get a following, they turn into (or reveal themselves as) leftist that want to indoctrinate as many people as they can, while also scamming everyone and delivering less and less quality products, while also actively being vengeful against their own customers. All of this was possible because they received support from customers in the first lace. Take away any means to support them, while still deceiving some to make them work (young entertainers are easier to deceive, given that they want to show off), and you have good scenario for those that just want to have fun without anything or anyone compromising the quality of the entertainment that they consume. As for street-shitters vs yellow midgets: no amount of costs that you cut is worth having back-stabbers that also don't know how to fix a problem. They can create and program, but that is it. You can see many companies that are having constant leaked information and overall "blackouts" of their services as a result of having hired street-shitters. It is "the cheap that ends up expensive".
And that made their games look like the same. Without clearly distinguishable visuals from one machine to the other, there is no point in having a dedicated machine for games, that also amounts to be a DRM box nowadays.
Navy is a school for communism then?

The original concept of the xbone had a design. Cloud computing and kinect should have given the edge over the competition, and since they are services and hardware exclusive to microsoft, they wouldn't had the need to invest is first party exclusives because multiplat games would have been enhanced for xbome. Investors got scared of the internet raging mob and microsoft had to change the project last minute, fucking everything up. And do i really have to tell you that normies would have jumped in? To be honest, this all is more because consoles as a type of gaming device are dying off.
They were obsolete for at least a decade, but now they are on the road to their death.
Xbone got no exclusives and is shit, so obviously it is dying off first. PS4 is also shite, but it has a small amount of exclusives/timed exclusives that hold it for now. I don't think we will see anything from Sony after PS5, they barely managed with PS4 Switch is a nice idea, and I think this is where the mainstream gayming will move to for a while, since mobage are usually shit, and Switch is basically a non-shit mobile device that you can also attach to a TV.
As long as people buy Japanese games, there will be a demand for consoles.
Grayson Davis
The PS4 is also a Japanese device. The Japanese literally still have arcades, for fuck's sake.
Tyler Brooks
Don't forget also death of local multiplayer, paid online, a lot of games requiring installation and pretty much anything worthwhile being multiplatform.
Sebastian Long
Deal with it.
Correct. The industry had a kind of "ecosystem" during the 90s, with arcades, consoles, PC and handhelds, all existing together and all with a different approach to their games, that delivered different experiences. The moment that the industry decided to not take risks and make everything similar and interchangeable, it was the moment that started the death any dedicated machine. Add to that the fact that more and more people get used to having everything in one single machine, and you have an increase in the speed which people will turn their backs on multiple devices and adopt one that runs all (or most of) things, games included.
Wii sold well and it was rapidly abandoned, to the point that it's successor wasn't able to garner enough interest. Switch is selling fast? Good for Nintendo only. What about the games? What about public interest in it? Consoles are dying as there is less and less reason to own one, and even the ones that have exclusives are becoming unworthy, as the prices are too high for too few good games.
Japan is moving towards mobile and gatcha. And there is even some Gamers adopting PC over there. The bulk of profits for consoles come from the west. Consoles may last longer there, or become like arcades and have a constant space for them that does not grow but does not disappear. But companies are already moving away from them even in Japan, that is for sure. You can see this happening little by little.
Camden Hughes

Not only have 8th Gen consoles sold less than 7th Gen as a whole from all 3 publishers but it's still well below 7th Gen as a whole even with 9th Gen Switch sales. Consoles as they are are dying mate, normalfag casuals fucking off to mobiles and more hobbyist types sticking to PC which has gotten mainstream success and the Xbone and WiiU failing has seen them sell less as a whole. The only amount of success they've seen is thag unlike 7th Gen they were sold at a profit from the very start.
Nathan Moore
Ah, that KMFMS pic. How nostalgic.

Things are much different today. Even far out at sea people can access Facebook and other websites. Porn is not allowed on the ship but it's never enforced and everyone has some on their HDDs. With access to handhelds, social media, and devices that can store 100k books, I don't see how people can get so bored. Yet we still have retards doing stupid shit and ruining everything for everyone.
I know. It has the be the most kike thing I have seen on the planet.
I really don't want the Switch to be considered the only "handheld" (it's definitely not as much as a tablet isn't a handheld) and Sony to not make a successor to the Vita. A lot of smaller devs are able to make riskier, low budget games on handhelds unlike bigger games where they have to play it safer.
Logan Price
Except the fact the entertainment will be shit and anyone with any form of intelligence, aka the quality entertainers, wouldn't step foot near it. But then again I'm talking to someone who's basically taking the proven failed theory of communism and applying it to entertainment.
Charles Bailey
The problem is that a lot of them are deluding themselves with VR now. When they realize their mistake, it may be too late.
You underestimate young autists that use escapism as means to produce good entertainment. There is always young people that can be lead to that path and be kept there until they die. Also, about it becoming shit, it is not guaranteed to What IS guaranteed shit is the current state of the industry. Anything goes to make the current situation improve. At the expense of others that aren't the customers, of course.
Henry Lopez
The retarded news media may call the Switch a handheld all they want but anyone who has ever touched a handheld before obviously realizes why it's not considered one. Nintendo announced that they're leaving the handheld market and the Vita is still doing well in Japan. Sony could dominate the market (though there should always be competition) as they already have most of the console market with the PS4.
The main reason so many avoided the Vita was the memory card prices and the fact the Vita didn't even come with one to make up for the fact that it barely has anything to store data in. Sony didn't even bother lowering the prices to match other micro SDs on the market and got burned for it.
Brayden Jenkins
You're the retard.

I have an Xbone. I like it. It gets pretty much most of everything the PS4 is gets, it has the best controller and it's backwards compatible. I think instead of focusing on raw power and more exclusives, the brand could make a comeback.

Please don't tell me that the one on the far right is from the new pirate ship game that was streamed on twitch a couple weeks ago.

I personally prefer it this way. Vita having a some kind of underground market, with technical support coming only from enthusiasts and games coming from small but competent studios. It had produced way better games than the corporate run industry. If Sony steps in again, it is guaranteed to ruin it in some way. As for the Switch, it was never a handheld. And it began to absorb the industry's policy of "everything must be the same and have the same games", so it will probably be the last truly dedicated device for unique games.
A typical shitskin: a deformed animal.
Cooper Collins
Sea of Thieves, that crappy nu-rare pirate game, but that's also on PC.
Justin Hernandez
As if the Rare corpse wasn't rotting enough. The Golden Rule always applies: check for WHO makes a game. Not what brand name it is released upon.
Logan Murphy
Ehh, some more than others. The third party studios were definitely less sleazy, though. DLC didn't run amok on the Vita.
I am, in part, considering getting an Xbox One as a 360 replacement. I'm waiting for better support, though. I can only play half of my games.
William Myers
Vita being almost immune to DLC is one of it's strong points. As for the incompetent studios, there will always be some. But as long as everything is run by enthusiasts and not by corporate suits, it is still better than what we have with consoles. I would advise you to not buy a X Bone, and instead, save money for a high end PC to pirate the games that yo want from the console. Most are released on PC. And emulation is always a possibility sometime later.
Jose Reed
The leadership at Xbox was retarded and the console was rushed. It looked like shit, it lacked power (which they could have been made up with losing profits which they could afford as Microsoft, not the same to Sony) they focused on retarded features like Kinect, it cost too much and TEEVEE SPORTS. They have been trying to pick it off the ground now and are doing a pretty good job at it, but aside from lower price for Xbox One S compared to PS4 and better performance on Xbox One X for some games there's little reason to get one. Doubly so for PC gamers since Windows 10 will have all Xbox exclusives because of the Xbox Play Anywhere thing they are doing which I think is a big mistake and lowers Xbox brand value. I'm honestly considering getting one for console exclusives and because I know I wouldn't have to upgrade it for at least 2 years as compared to my PC, especially with the current RAM and GPU shortages.
Jaxson Lopez
Could be a valid excuse, and I don't think that reason has ever even been a official response by Bethsoft.
Ian Diaz
Needs a nintendo switch in that picture.

Void is hardly on the radar compared to many of the compromised distros. The war was more or less over when the major projects rolled over for it, and those are increasingly including intrusive "features" independently of Potthead's influence.
They had a link to acquire Microsoft Word bundled into the distribution. It's not on there physically to the best of my knowledge by default but it is rather sketchy to say the least.
Nathaniel Gutierrez
Are we talking about the same Vita here? I passed on 95% of the interesting games on the platform because they had paid DLC. Did I stumble into a different universe here?
Easton Sullivan
Xbox doesn't have the autism crowd that Nintendo and Playstation boast.
Mason Torres
Weird, I can't find anything like that on mine, then again I have not checked what's going on with their team of late.
Hunter Foster
I for one welcome next year's E2 conference.
Jack Allen
It was a recent development, but it certainly raised a few eyebrows.
Jaxson Lewis
I don't want to defend the Xbox One X I don't even fucking own one nor would I ever in my life but supposedly there is a way to run homebrew applications on it out of the box without any mods whatsoever and the only catch is that the applications are sandboxed. Microsoft basically allowed anyone to enable dev mode. So I'll give them credit for that, it's too little too late though and I can't see that saving it
Joseph Howard
I looked a bit further into it. I still have to suss out more detail on it but unless I misunderstand it, it might be related to the 'open file with, and or something to do with a possible chromebooks crossover.
Again, I still have to look further into it and what it really means.
Brayden Anderson
I would get something dedicated for gaming aka a low end pc or a PS4 and a raspberryPi as a mediacenter.
Noah Wright
Mark?
Owen Green
Why not just use a cheap laptop that can do the job just as well?
Carter Diaz
It wasn't really immune. Publishers were just less shitty. There was still on-cartridge DLC in some cases.
Not to the point where blatantly unfinished games were commonly released with DLC to compensate for the lack of content.
That's interesting. I might look into that.
Ryder Allen
This board has gone to the shitter It's no longer redemeable, nothing but cuckchan shills and retards now.
Kevin Davis
Nothing, that's why it didn't go anywhere. It wasn't advanced enough to outperform the PC and it wasn't niche enough to outsell the PS4/Switch.
Adrian Thomas
...
Xavier James
They have completely ruined Halo many times over. Therefore I have no interest in anything they put out anymore.
Henry Brooks
What really killed the XBOne was the Kinect and the fact that Microsoft pushed Malware as the console's operating system and they got called out on it. It was doomed from Day 1.
Carson Miller
At least Nigs of War will have OLd Spice man as the main character.
Grayson Cruz
I still do not get the appeal of this negro, or any negro for that matter.
Connor Green
how embarrassing
Sebastian Taylor
He's pretty charismatic in roles that AREN'T the old spice guy. But for normalfags it's mostly "LOL OLD SPICE AMIRITE I RECOGNIZE THAT"
Carson Garcia
You are a completely worthless motherfucker.
Ryan White
Also, PC Gaming has gotten to the point that graphical updates are basically done. A top of the line gaming pc built in 2002 would be nearly obsolete by 2008. Meanwhile, a top of the line pc built in 2012 is still, barely, but still able to play nearly everything coming out on the market. A 3000$ PC built right now will be excellent in 2025.
So PC Gaming is back, because it can now compete in longevity with consoles. Hell, the consoles now were beaten in terms of RAM by 400$ Labtops in the very same year.
Today, right now, a 350$ Labtop can give you everything the PS4 and Xbone have to offer and more. A 500$ PC with only half assed gaming capabilities will blow them out of the water. You can literally spend the same money on a fucking labtop and get a superior gaming experience.
It it weren't for artificial limitations, the larger tablets would already be competitive in terms of power.
Angel Wood
And Halo Wars wasn't even that bad for what it was.
Camden Hughes
And the shittiest part is that Netlfix and such are purely software addons, they dont take up much space. The entire system could have been dedicated to pure gaming, with a half dozen apps as extra. As a side effect. I mean lets be honest, people have been using their gaming systems for music since the PSone, and for movies since the PS2/Xbox.
There was no reason for the Xbone to be such a shitshow, or for either console to be so underpowered.
Asher Long
WE WUZ
Andrew Murphy
Is this the year of the One?
Ethan White
Crackdown 3 has been "coming exclusive" of 2016, 2017 and now 2018. By now it will have all kind of lootboxes, black tokens and political agendas. It's going to flop so hard.
Blake Edwards
Nah, blacks have been the main character since game one.
Jace Hall
Nothing. Masses were brainwashed into accepting apes as if they were People.
That was the problem. Microshit approached the console as a multimedia device first, instead of a gaming device. The thing is, it was always a game device first. so if they wanted a multimedia one, they should have presented it under a different name. Then, they would still lose the X Box 360 fanbase's interest. They simply chose the wrong path, and bet on a failed option. They wanted to move away from games but at the same time they wanted to keep the Gamers that were the customers for the X Box brand. No one can have both. You either present a new gaming device, or Gamers will move away from it. I still suspect that Don Matrick was a saboteur, by the way that he presented the X Bone, but Microshit surely had their part in those shitty decisions as well.
The correct term is apes, user. Or niggers if you want to be polite.
