How is age of wonders 2? is it decent? i played a lot of AoW1 and had blast with it, played 3 and found it kinda shit.
Also for some reason i have a game called Warlock master of the arcane on my steam library that i didn't bought, but i seem to have all DLCs and everything, never played it either, does it plays like HoMM or Civ?
Also, which age of wonders 1 should i buy/pirate? i only even played the first one without expansions, but it seems like it had some expansions, but they are stand alone? which one is the one i should get? do i need the first game to get it's content or the expansions come with it too (with the exception of the story campaign)?

There is only one, there never was any expansion. There was Age of Wonders 2: The Wizard's Throne, which is a whole new game, and Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, which is the sequel (or standalone expansion) to Wizard's Throne.

I wouldnt mind more of the same, every new game sort of brought tiny bit of "new" in the mix, mostly just new troops and a few spells and new hero gimmick though they are all kinda similar still, the Chest of Rage, Dragon pet, Valkyries etc.
Shame King's Bounty: Darkside was a bit lackluster, the idea was neat, playing the evil side and all but especially later on many of the maps felt empty and lacked "charm/soul" ie felt rushed and overall it seemed to bring even less than the earlier games.
I dont even remember what gimmick it had with the heroes at all!

Masters of the Broken World was just a buggy 3D remake. Genesis is where it's at. It also has better mods.

Shadow magic is good. I'd say get that and AoW 1 from GoG if you want to buyfag or IGG to pirate, because they have the GoG installers on IGG.

Eador: Genesis is good too, though I can't vouch for the quality of any of the sequels.

AoW 2 has a better campaign than Shadow Magic but it's pretty imba gameplay-wise. Like, there's no real reason not to play Cosmos sphere.

Even at the time, I realized that this game was inferior to mom or even homm. Pretty buggy on release, no internet at the time, the real time battles were glitchy/badly balanced etc. Still, I played it all year long and had fun roflstomping everything with my dark elves. I think the excellent soundtrack might have something to do with it. Also I was maybe 9 or 10.
