Just finished Illusion of Gaia, how was this game?
Terranigma
Amazing.
Better than Illusion of Gaia but not as fun as Soul Blazer.
Abstract piece of shit with decent gameplay.
Better than zelda.
?
Superb. One of the rare instances PAL got something good that NTSC didn't.
Main character is essentially the wandering Jew, walks through all of history from the end of the ice age to the present, interacting at key points. It's done in a pretty understated way.
What was that game even about? Anime jesus fighting against planet's evil alter ego while teaching people how to build space ships?
That game's story was a whole load of bullshit.
It's fun if you're into history and Zelda like gameplay. I'm almost done with it and I'm having a blast
It was actually worse, especially in the story and character department.
Terranigma is one of the games that made me a gamer, because it showed me that games could be more than arcade style challenges. Especially the ending left a deep impact on me.
Its not the best game ever made or the best story ever told, but what I love about it how much the world grows during your playtime and the constant changes that happen to it.
Also the real time combat is pretty good, even if magic is most of the time useless.
You accidentally or symbolically end the world that has gone out of balance. Its your job to restore it and guide its growth to avoid another apocalypse.
During that time you have to deal with the People you come into contact with and deal with your own reason for existing.
The default name of the player is "Ark" and you are not wrong with your bible comparison, as you reanimate the world in the order it happens in the genesis.
It's really damn good, a very underrated game.
Combat is fun, soundtrack is amazing, and the story and thematic is very interesting as well.
Easily in my top 10 SNES games.
My favorite SNES game probably. Visuals and sound are great (one of the last games the SNES got, so no surprise) and gameplay is fun, although a bit on the easy side. Pretty dark story in places, little 8-year-old me was crying at the end IIRC.
Why do we save worlds we can never be part of?
Good game in my books, the ending will break you though.
The true ending is a bit more upbeat though. At least you get to see everything mankind could accomplish thanks to you and maybe even see the image of your loved one again. Yeah, you're a bird but it's better than nothing
You come back to life though and go fuck ur bitch.
Pretty good.
wtf i hate gaming now
Fuck, I'm now listening to the OST and getting misty-eyed. Forgot how great the music was.
Yeah, but you're a bird. I'm not into cloaca sex
...
After you're done, play the fourth game of the trilogy.
What's up with the retards in this thread?
He finally got to rest. No more worries, no more responsibilities. He just got to enjoy the fruits of literal millenia of labors.
Just as shitty as Illusion of Gaia if not shittier. An awful game with bad action-stat mechanics and tedious puzzles only held up by retards obsessed with atmosphere and who want to feel like astute special snowflakes for liking a game not released in North America.
It's classic hipster game
I couldn't keep playing after jumping into the hole, it was not good. Gaia was a lot better, even though Terranigma has better combat.
...
Good but overrated. It's a 7/10. Gaia is better.
So true. The music has stuck with me more than anything else.
That sounds really butthurt, did Terranigma beat you as a child and fucked your mom?
There is nothing hipster about Terranigma, its just a really good atmospheric game and its a shame you burgers didn't get to enjoy it when it came out, as it is easily one of the best RPGs on the SNES.
