Need for speed

Which is the best NFS and why is it 2?

I'm torn between III and High Stakes.

i feel like the series both peaked and jumped the shark on ps2.

Need for Speed Underground 2
Open world, customization, during Xbox's golden age, putting it down only to play a bit more of Halo

...

I don't think the series ever got any better of a balance than 3.

Because it got fast cars, nice progression, fun maps, has an option to turn on traffic and is playable on split-screen even on computer.

Had so much fun with that one, going off tracks by so many different ways with the T-Rex.

I think Porsche Unleashed/2000 had the perfect gameplay balance for a simcade. But it only had Porsches.

...

what about NFS Burnout edition?

To which are you refering?

If its not

Hot Pursuit 2 was my jam.
What a shame.

NSF3

Best not be heading for a breakdown then. I'll have to fix you up.

I remember it running well on my PC.

borked in what way?

underground 2 and the original NFSIII (the FIRST hot pursuit game) were my favorites, but hot pursuit 2 and high stakes were good too

...

borked in it's a completely different fucking game that's straight up inferior to the ps2 version

w-what, really?
wow, you ain't shittin' (embed related, not my video, just googled it)
I only had the PC version but I still enjoyed it for a few reasons (not least of which being the selection of more real-world cars rather than the lambos and other nonsense that made up the car list in older games)
but yeah the PS2 version is CLEARLY superior even just judging from that video

Worse visuals with entire effects missing and worse physics on the cars. The port was outsourced to another studio so the PS2 version ended up being the best even when compared to superior platforms.

Why would someone bring up Need Speed, for? If it didn't make you drive defensive and necessarily aggressively. You didn't spend enough time on your father's lap when you were a wee one. I'd say Driver is the best NSF game. If you can't drive yourself, you need someone who can dust up cut roads outside the highgays. Suspension is key, forget brake pads. It's all oiled so well as it never gets to clot up.

I really enjoyed the career mode it had back then, but that was a long time ago.

The non-PS2 versions also have less alternate routes and are even missing a whole series of tracks.

MY NIGGA

NFS2 is also the only NFS game with the Ford GT90. I don't know if it makes it the best NFS game, but it puts it up there.

...

i liked prostreet

NFSU 2 for PC if you Anons want it. Includes proper widescreen fix, "region unlocker" so you can use the European cars on the US version, patches and trainers for all versions, controller dead zone issues, and optional visual reputation remover so you won't be forced to use ugly as fuck RICED.COM body kits and shit on your car.

Think he means Hot Pursuit. Drifting in it is ridiculous and everyone gets shells and bananas to use basically. But over all it's a return to form.

The other two? I pirated Most Wanted just to see the police intros Seriously these are the best part of the game. Didn't even bother with Rivals since I heard it was more trash somehow. NFS '15 is good if you want to rice shit, though fuck actually playing it. Same for Payback which sadly doesn't have a crack yet

I'll like carbon with you user Autosculpt was the shit and it actually had a pretty nice story carrying on from MW. Though I wish the cars didn't get sorted into classes and forced you to upgrade to a different car. Prostreet is better though

Specifically the PC version.

Go dig an AMC out of a junkyard, rebuild it. Do it and then answer. NFS3. Always.

When you find the automobiles your friends and family wrecked. I come home to the junk every once in a while. See what I can rebuild. Yours and mine will never catch me in the day or night. I know the chopter lads. Work, and he needs a day to lay lightening.

Losers.

this

Excuse me for being /o/ but if you need a game to drive. Shameful. Taking the shackles off of a dead car, make it scream again. The worst to the best. I have night vision, long as nobody lights me up behind. Then I block the road and come out. Knock the car out of the war at night.

Friends and family love to drive with me, as that is all I am. When you bring a car alive again, it loves you too.

The next one is going all the way to the coast. Desolation Peak, just for fun. Highway and backwoods. It's something special, that drives me.

If anyone is out west, it is a nice time to take a drive up St. Helens. Most of you and your rides likely cannot take it it summer.

Cool but aren't the EU cars bad gameplay-wise?

I think the 106 isn't too bad, but the Miata and RX8 are the two endgame killer by far

In video games? The silliest. In real life? If you can stick like Lucifer putting down runes. It's a fine ride.

This is the only correct option, if not for the addictive, simple yet challenging gameplay, for the sheer amount of mods that exist for both. You will never run out of shit to do in that game.

It's sad that most kids nowadays don't even so much as acknowledge any of the games before Underground, it's kinda like if everyone thought Doom 3 was the first DOOM game.

My fellow basketball-americans.

I FUCKING HATE THEM
Put a fucking rash in their minds for how I RIP ahead and TEAR tarmac and service my automobile.

I used to play NFS 3 the most, but I think one time I got another game, possibly another NFS game, where police would somehow slow down your car even if you didn't stop accelerating, eventually making it stop and arresting you. Also, I think if the police started pursuing you, you could stop and be handed an infraction instead of getting arrested. Does anyone know what game this was? This was like 20 or 15 years ago and I was a little babby so my memory can be fuzzy.

Hot pursuit is the shit. Fucking Dodge Viper all day.

This and whichever Underground was on PSP (the one I play the most).

My 1st cairfu when I was 6 years old.

PS2 version of HP2 is the best NFS.
I like UG2's and Pro Street's tuning system.

Does anyone even care about NSF anymore?
I honestly can't remember when was the last time this franchise was relevant.

It's miserable existance was bullshit fucking cash-grab.
I think I'll spend an afternoon or two with this while laughing at the faggots that spent their life's savings on a shitty game and were left with nothing to show for it.

Hot Pursuit 2 was the last good nfs game, high stakes was my favorite

It's a bad open world compared to Most Wanted 2012 and a hamfisted storyline.

Hot Pursuit 2010 was alright.

Can we elaborate on what we think it's good on a NFS game?

I think the Burnout crashes were a good feature and didn't like the more realistic ones where you could total your car in a single crash. I liked being encouraged to play aggressively, pedal to the metal where possible but not just everywhere.

Police pursuits, but without all the gizmos that reduce it to just a nuisance or turns it into electronic warfare.

The game taking place on a whole city rather than being just a series of highways.
I think that with today's power they can make a big map with some higways but most importantly several cities, my point is that the game used to have more design to it than just going fast and using fast related accesories.

I think the series trying to be more realistic is what is making it sink, it used to be a nice balance of possible and impossible things, that made the games basically a car porn simulator.

Were the earlier NFS's showcases not car porn?

Don't forget Hot Pursuit 2010's car dick sucking descriptions, very hot.

That's a funny way to spell the Playstation version of NFS 3.

MAJOR SHIT:
- salted peanuts
- good variety of cars
- good level design (i.e. no bullshit that you have to memorize like it's fucking battletoads)
- vehicles for different terrain that make handling substantially different; salted peanuts
- good physics; if you hit oncoming traffic going 70 mph (whatever the equivalent is in non-freedom-units), you should feel it, you should not just bounce off the car and maintain your trajectory
- good AI; no shitty rubber banding, have set difficulty levels for each course; preferably have AI be ghosts of record times from actual players (i.e. the fucking devs themselves)
- different modes of play; time attack mode; a free drive mode; salted peanuts, etc
MINOR SHIT:
- the ability to upload and listen to your own music
- a varied musical track (Midnight Club LA is a good example)
- salted peanuts
- if you're incorporating a story into the game, just don't.

Fun physics this is why the PS1 version of NFS 3 beats the PC version, sanic speed, crazy tracks, AI that doesn't fuck around, and music that makes you want to go even faster then eurobeat.

Who /feverfortheflava/ here?

NO YOU GET OUT OF HERE

why are there no good single player racing games on pc at all? its all just mp garbage

Two of the greatest games ever made are both singleplayer and for the PC, you uncultured faggot.

*racing games. Fuck me.

It was a worse Burnout game.

...

Tracks are also fairly forgettable.

...

welp, time to sleep.

Strictly speaking doesn't youtube use webms for all but the highest quality nowadays anyway?

My summer car exists.

Depends.
Are you talking about the godlike and beautiful PS1 version, or about the ugly and unordered PC version? These were two completely different games.

It uses a combination of formats, depending on resolution and device support
