Aight first off Berserk is great, if you don't like it that's fine but don't try to claim it isn't creative or interesting. Second of all what the fuck is wrong with Death Note and Cowboy Bebop again they're both awesome existentially satisfying aesthetic experiences, I see nothing about them that's distasteful or middle-brow. Maybe there's a hint of campiness but I've yet to encounter a work of fiction imported to the Anglo-Sphere that isn't slightly campy. The Berserk anime series were shit. They didn't even come close to the manga.

I've seen chunks of Samurai X and actually listed it in my main list of animes that I like (its not better than Berserk or Cowboy Bebop, so your elitist preening is unwarranted here), LotGH looks interesting I've seen memes of the characters before, Gunbuster looks interesting (very esoteric pick, haven't heard of it at all). I also really like Black Lagoon, Trigun and Ghost In the Shell but I'm sure you're gonna tell me those are trash too.
