Good work user

A short guide in order to download from the axfc link, provided in images. It will probably help if you can't read nip.

Take five seconds to check the catalog before sticking your dick in a blender, you fucking retard.

How about you do that

elona.wikia.com/wiki/Beginner's_Guide
It's worth noting that quests are going to be the main way you get gold in the early game, as anything else will probably kill you since you don't really even have a shirt on your back. Besides this, entering the puppy dungeon to get random items for identification in vernis is a good way to quickly build up change, while having magic items known for later dungeon diving.
elona.wikia.com/wiki/Recommended_pets
Always pick the little sister unless you want to do something else, humanoid pets are very strong early and late because of all their equip slots.

Should've used this. At least the thread won't devolve because of shitflinging and a worse OP now.

Nah.

Remember you can also make some coin if you whore yourself out

Eventually you're going to get afflicted by the ether disease, even if you avoid the etherwind. (more on that here elona.wikia.com/wiki/Etherwind)
Currently, the only way to cure the etherwind is through (q)uaffing potions of cure corruption, but there's only a few reliable ways to procure one, and that's either through marriage, or, going dungeon diving and (s)ampling gathering spots, that look like open ore veins, pools of water, disturbances in the dirt, campsites and sometimes items that you can pick up, and getting casino chips from them. You then use the casino chips in elona.wikia.com/wiki/Blackjack, winning 5 times in a row on any amount of chips input, so for efficiency's sake, put in just 1 and try to win as much as you can, will give you a set of random items and also a guaranteed drop of a potion of cure corruption. This is hands down the easiest way to get potions early on, outside of marrying your pet, but you can't always do that, so this is technically more reliable, even if it's gambling.
The main places these casino tables are located at are Palmia and Port Kapul, so they're in relatively easy to reach places.

Was the skill potential increase from training really buffed from 20% to 100%? That's crazy.

It's been like that for a while, but yes. Platinum acquisition also keeps getting buffed since museums are now a source of it every month, based on the number of true-unique figures and cards you have in the museum.

And you have Yacatect who can get you 10+ plat/month for doing nothing and 2 plat every couple of days from the goose. The grind is dramatically less shit than it used to be.

Honestly the only thing it usually makes me mad are the stupid amount of taxes you get even if have literally nothing

Taxes tend to stop mattering once your fame gets high enough, since elona+ made it so that fame no longer means you get taxed higher. You also have the option of buying tax certificates which should automatically deal with taxes until its credit dries up or funds run out, unless it's bugged. Frankly I haven't used it since taxes only come once a month and I abuse the shit out of return and other spells all the time.

Thats good to hear, pissed me off how you only had like 3000 salary or so early game and suddenly you get like 30k of taxes because you started fighting in the arena and made some low level dungs that barely give enough gold back even with misterious items you can sell from the identifier

I just wanted a comfy thread without shitflinging, is that so much to ask?
Since the game's pretty much all about grinding and efficiency of grinding when it gets down to progression, nothing really calls for your attention, but something you will want to get out of the way as soon as possible is this quest: elona.wikia.com/wiki/Ambitious_Scientist
as it gives you the gene machine. The lower level you are, the easier it should be to complete because you won't one shot all capturable mobs, but even in that case you can still get a feat, being knockout, to get a knockout special action that drops the enemy down to 1hp without killing them. Gene engineering is important because it lets you splice useful and sometimes entirely necessary skills onto your pets, making them much stronger and more useful in the long run, as they'll eventually be able to gather you materials, cook food and knit clothes for you if they get the right skills.

where i buy that shit

The embassy, should be. I see 1.2 million certificates there all the time.

Goddammit.
Then shitscordians are surprised about it being filtered on majority active/semi-active boards.
Including several with porn.

Looks like it.

I'm OP of last thread, I'm ok with a new thread, I guess, but I'm really curious why the last one got nuked, like shit storms are something new in threads. Also you were acting like a ???? last thread because I didn't make the thread according to your wishes and others were being ????? ????? because I left a non-approved platform link and it brought the autism out in serious ways. Elona should be a comfy thread where people and just talk about and enjoy the grind. Also getting the thread deleted so that you could OP again is kinda funny, well, now it's according to your standards right. We don't need to talk about this anymore, but if you want we can. I'm happy to see a new thread up and hope the people who are here enjoy and can be civil with each other.

You know exactly why it got nuked. Kill yourself.

How to turn a loli into an archer.
Using Elona+ and Elona Custom

You don't want to be civil? Or you don't know how?

I'll be civil: leave and don't come back. Take your frog spamming friend with you.

Frog spamming friend? Ijust got up from a six hour nap so I don't know what happened with the thread after I went to sleep.

Also, some info for people who aren't new but haven't tried this yet.
Elona is heavily moddable, especially with stuff like elosnack and all the additions the devnip keeps making to the code and possibilities. To that effect, there's lots of things that are easily moddable, with some instructions being in this thread: elona.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:18329

As well as going on elonaup.x0.com/ for as many new and interesting images as the community spits out, there's also tonefiles and the series of images I have saved to my hard-drive from ages ago. You merely need to crop these in 128x192 details and change file format to bmp. All of this will probably require gimp.

You can change the portraits in character screens, models for PCCs and the default sprites of just about any entity in the game. There's also a lot more than just that for modding since the author of E+ added in emotional variants of conditional responses when interacting with pets, including emotion-based faces and such that you can see in your elona graphic and user folders.

why the fugg would you want to turn a good melee unit into a gimped ranged unit

If you don't know why it caused over 40 posts of pure autism and anger, then I don't know what else to tell you. Also it's not as if I "Wanted" to be OP, I shirk off responsibility as much as I can, but this is one of those things that seem sacred to me.
what is this
Also, I'd prefer it if we could stop talking about this autism and remove it from the dialogue of the thread. It's uncomfy.

What does distance>1 move forward do? Don't you want archers away from enemies?

Actually, that doesn't actually work. Your pet will stop working and give you "doesn't know how to respond in the current situation" because it's pretty rudimentary code. A more effective ranged AI code is like this, for my black angel, as shitty as it may seem.

No, I don't know why posting a d i s c o r d link to a relevant (active and helpful) community (including the devs, translaters etc) made people freak out.

it makes them get into the 5 space range and stop.

Units only start with 3 instructions so that isn't possible. I don't even know how they get more but they only start with 3.

They get more with increased amounts of learning in their skills, up to a max of either 15 or 25, I forget which, but it's all on the custom talk anna posted on the elona forum.

Why? It just looks retarded to me.

Wait what, what is going on here. I've played with custom AI a bunch and I'm not sure what the point of this is.

current setup, post your houses…

Maybe the fact that you have to evade a wordfilter just to mention it should give you a clue.

(((yes it does)))

I don't understand why they would stop at five tiles though. I guess the first and second entities take priority over the third?

Max attack range for pets is 5, right? Well you'd think it'd be fine if you put less than or equal to five, ranged attack, right? Nope, they won't shoot at things past 4 distance and also won't move even if you give a if greater than x, move forward command, they'll just stand still and not shoot.
Maybe that's not the case, but that's what my experience was with my BA.

ayy. Just recently bought the place so I'm trying to furnish it and put servants into the correct spots and stores.

Yeah like, it does 1 command and goes back to line 1, going through the list after each execution. Also, apparently you always want the last line = true, so if a pet has a target, the script will be used and the last line = true.

I don't know, I've been using those fine. I even had a black angel at one point before downsizing.

How'd you do this?

Custom input. Downloaded a bunch from here elonaup.x0.com/sozai/ like I mentioned in .
Also in that post is a tutorial on how to do that, and how to scrape sprites out of the pngs I posted (and am posting) and put them in bmp format ready for the pcc folder.

cont'd

these are really awesome but they won't show armors on pets right? (not that it matters too much)

They will, but it'll look really funky most of the time. You can disable that function at most regular, non-4th-dimensional-pocket mirrors.

Don't under estimate the soft/sharp/etc equip pot of fusion recipe thing, I made like 3 miracle-level shotguns from a single shotgun.

Might as well post my own character.bmp which is a mashup of the original graphics, several of the more popular community sprites and some other crap.

Are there any custom portrait/ item sprite packs that you guys are willing to share since I'm a little worried that my old pack from 1.69 isn't updated to 1.75 currently alongside Elona Custom.

Hey, that looks pretty good user. Nice job mashing it together.

I haven't been using those fusion recipes because I never figured out the use. How'd you pull that off?

I dunno what you mean by portraits, but if you mean custom portraits for all the story NPCs then you're probably still good, and if you mean custom sprite pack in the form of custom tilesets, those never get updated so you're still safe. The user with the community sprites is probably entirely up to date as well.

A bunch of tiles I never used now I need to spend another hour doing my house. At least I'll have my girls to help me move stuff around.

What's this interface edit? I like it better than the default parchment.

For the equip stuff, first you need to craft the required materium you need. Like for example soft materium requires you to use a sewing kit with a decent tailor skill.

Then you get a weapon that matches that materium, and lastly you need stardust, which you get from picking up duplicate special artifacts.

The bloodyshade link is giving me warning signs. Can I get some confirmation on its safety?

Uh, not really.
elona.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:25014
I use it all the time each release without errors, but in that thread is a megalink with the exact same files, so do what you want. Frankly you've already downloaded a game from possibly the shadiest nip transfer site on earth, but that's just me.

I think it was the little sister UI. But I've been using my current graphics since around 1.65 and just edited and mishmashed it like
to keep it up to date.

You can also do "equip update" to reroll the attack/defense values of your item. It isn't cheap either, as it requires an EVitem.

I feel like EV items are cheap, though, since it's only a 1/2000 drop for anything after level 29. Attribute scrolls and wonders tend to be much rarer.

The only thing I see how this can be useful really is if you're truly desperate for gold. As the artifacts you get are totally random. But stardust is typically hard to find and is used to help enchanting stuff to +15.

And the same saves every time you make artifacts, so you cannot abuse this.

I think its because he self signs his tickets and is just hosting them on his own private server. I've downloaded from there and haven't have anything bad happen yet

Stardust is also pretty rare unless you're just farming it with beggars pendants or something, and they nerfed that a while ago.

wtf enchanting a item to + something even do?when you enchant a ring for example

Obligatory guides

"disagreement sows disagreement in Holla Forums"

Is there any way to access more map tiles than what is shown when you hit 'enter' in design mode?

it increases the protection and dodge values of the equipment, so dv and pv, and the damage values on weapons. It might do something beyond that, though. Don't think it does much for enchantments so I guess it does fuck all for rings without armor values, can't find anything on the wiki about it.

but why it dont actually show the value?

Who knows. Your character skill determines damage more than the weapon, anyway.

All I know is acid will reduce the number, and I assume eat the gear eventually.

It gives a little bit of extra DV/PV for each enchantment value, also blessing the item gives the same effect. It might not seem much, but heavily enchanting all 13 of your equipment can really add up.

Huh. I wonder if these are usable items, and if they give permanent resists. Because if they do, those are some pretty fucking great bonuses for relatively cheap prices. Resist magic is OP as hell. Only problem with the material costs are the chaos stones which are used in superior scrolls.

They are used in an artifact fusion system quite a ways after act 1.

...

Palaces do look nice, but small castle just feels like it's a better fit for me for some reason.
I'll try to update my files some time, so here's an older pic and a crappy video tour for now.

I found a repack containing it on the english wiki forums in case anyone else wants it.

...

Forgot size limit.

:^)

I have 'a little ball'
(its identified already)
it's precious
description: it gives your special powers

what the fuck is this?
ib4 monster ball

You use them to capture little sisters (the ones that spawn after killing big daddy) once you accepted the corresponding quest.

Man, what website are you from? You're definitely not from here.

I'm not "from" a website you fucking moron.

Yes you are.
Your idiosyncrasies and apparent anger are enough to indicate this. Why do you come here and pretend to fit in, especially with fucking around with the diskike shit?

I'm not angry. You are still a fucking moron though.

Uhuh.
Well, consider lurking before you post.

Take your own fucking advice from here

consider taking that bbc out of your ass, you fucked the last thread and now your being a dick for no reason (for some lame us/them bullshit, the little bottom tier troll move) but with someone else. just gtfo.

Reminder that Yacatect of Wealth is best sister.

10 trillion hours in paint

At least she's honest about what she wants. :^)
On top of seemingly being the only sane god.
good job, I chuckled

where did you get this image? i did not see something this good on the wiki..

lets say i lost a important item like the gene machine after die in a dungeon how do i get it back?

Do the Little Sister quest (i.e. be able to kill a Big Daddy) or cheat.

Also if the dungeon's still there you can just go and get it back, but that won't help if it's the Puppy Cave or some shit.

the grind was worth it.

...

You know you have a badass pet when it does something like this.

Also, now I'm starting to fight more and more enemies that have gauges too. Leading to some crazy bullshit attacks if they fill up.

I LOV YOU BIG SIS
So now that I have her coin who should I get?
I want to go back to her at the end but I was thinking either mani for androidfu or Otapos because I am a melee user or just Shota for them farming gains.

Did you get the Aureate Constricter? If not, don't leave her just yet.

Yacatact, I know we have had some good times, but I need to stretch my legs a bit. It will be good for us both. I promise when I come back I will have a big barrel of shiny things for you.
whats it dew

Decreases your negotiation and stealth skill by a shit ton when you wear it, so you can train them easily.

Well negotiation at least, maybe the latter would be better if you want to attract monsters more.

Have you or someone you love done any of the following things in Elona?
Have you answered "no" to the above questions? Congratulations! You or someone you love has just played Elona completely the wrong fucking way! Try again nigger.

Why does it have to be made of ether?

I actually was not aware that Elona had absorbed Bioshock at some point, how did I miss this

And speaking of Yacatect, I wished for her and got these lovely pair of gloves.

Swole god is next.

i think if you use a inferior or change material scroll it will change

Getting stardust isn't hard, you just need to git gud at hitting crabs. :^)

Reaching the point in the game where I have too much shit to do and I'm not fast enough to do it. By the time I've micromanaged everything it's time to do it all again. How do people deal with this? It happens to me every game.

That's an unrandart.

Yes. Several times.
No, just to raise affinity and get a little cash from after I bought some things from them.
Mainly raw/mica equipment.
Not a kiwi, but I failed too much quests with karma penalty.
Only in Derphy.
Was it that time, when you don't give them anything they set your house on fire?
I never bothered with meidos or other home npcs, to be honest.
Several times. Mainly with Palmia for quest, Vernis for ragnarok failed, Derphy for cheap laughs.

I just killed the God inside God, what do I kill next.

how do you do that

yourself

you pat your pet loli on the head and give her candy
but instead of candy, it's some sausage
and instead of sausage it's your dick

You leash her

You can pat, hug, and kiss your pets. If they have a "sleep sheep" item in their inventory there's a low chance they'll join you in bed for PG-13 cuddling or you can force them by hugging them while standing on a bed and sleepy. If it's the 2nd month you can buy chocolate kits and use them to give your favourite pet a chocolate, and if it's 2/14 you can get a chocolate from your pet by talking to them and selecting the "chocolate" option (pretty sure you have to be married for that, but everything else can be done outside of marriage)

Damn it

Holy shit! I actually got it!

You got it from dream.
It's easiest statue to get.

So, can you download extra races or classes for ElonaC? I remember vanilla elona had an extra file with debug races or something

You enable the debug races in the config file by setting extraRace to "1".
You don't need custom for this.
Not sure if you're able to download or make custom races though.

Thanks, just asking 'cuz one would think this game would have shittons of custom stuff already out.

There were several standalone fan expansions around the time the original game went open source, but they're all in JP only, and E+ is the only one that caught on.

Well shit, thats a shame, thanks for the answer tho

Current equipment so far.

If you use ammo even if you don't have a gun or bow, does the extra stats or resistances apply to you anyways?

Yes, but it prevents you from using your throwing weapon. The same goes for pets; they'll end up meleeing spiky enemies instead of sniping them.

Does your health/mp even regenerate now?

Yes. You can even equip melee weapons on the shoot slot for their passive bonuses.
Like a claw that gives chance for extra attack for example.

Yes, though very slowly. I've been keeping it on to both challenge myself and to constantly grind healing and meditation. The 50 PV it gives makes it a decent defensive item also.

"Elona custom" is compatible or maybe even requires Elona+ and offers various tweaks like the ability to set your pets AI. (And a bunch of other things but I don't know)

elona.wikia.com/wiki/Elona_variants
Many were extremely shortlived and didnt get updated ever again.
The only ones that matter (due to still being updated) are Elona+/Elona+Custom and OmakeOverhaul (which i dont know anything about, jp only i assume)

Being a magic user is suffering

Enter a random square on the map and read books on the edge of that. If you summon monsters just leave.

I actually never thought on that, thanks.

The early levels as a wizard can be rough but it gets much better.
God speed.

Something must have got fucked in my RNG that prevented any chance of appearance on my game.
Even if it's easily outdone by a stack blessed curaria, I still want one for completion sack.

meant for
God dammit…

It's very random.
I started with full luck feats and only got mine about level 75, way after most other statues.

I got mine at level 10.
Don't ask me how.

This thing was a pain in the ass to kill, but it's now part of my party.

Thats a strong nigga

Well I've been raiding dungeons that nearly double my level. Torch really has been helping me during these.

So basically your partners are the dedicated melee fighters meanwhile you are either a magic casting bot or ranged fighter?

I use and abuse blood stream for the tougher enemies, though the higher level bosses can eat quite a few of those.

Most of my magic casting is either healing myself or casting magic dart/laser.

The damage I do with it outdoes anything Torch does, unless she decapitates someone with the harvest scythe.

Maybe it's one of things where it's already predetermined at the start of the game, and you end up getting fixed on the very worst end of the deal. After testing with an older file I stopped playing up to lvl 6, I actually obtained the stupid statue only 5 hours in.
And after an eternity of mass bard genocide on my current file, the Stradivarius didn't show up until like 2000+ hours in. Oh, and not once have I ever seen Isca, Murder knight, or Pascal on either file. I guess certain files are just more blessed by the fickle Goddess of RNG than others.

I've never played Elona but every time I see one of these threads I get the urge to play Elona Shooter.

Its pretty good right?

The RNG is atrocious but the one time it goes your way it's perfect. Getting a leech 3 mod early on as a sheriff has carried me through the first round. The only downside is how your save will die because it's a temporal file. If I knew where it was located I'd back it up every day.

I usually go hunter with pierce and either bowgun with fire rate perks, also having a designated grenade launcher or grav gun is also nice

Fuck yeah man

Recently spent 6 cure corruptions to get a desire for violence but all I got were wings, which fairies should really start with anyway.

Also anyone else think that elona+ really misses the point in humor and balance? The origial elona's humor alot of the time came down to what it didn't stop you from doing whereas elona+ seems to really just go for lol so randumb.

On a seperate note, can you guys post character sheets and where you are in the game? It's really difficult to get a sense of where in the game one is supposed to be (also its cool to see).

Not even bothering to do story mode, I just keep leveling and doing quests, I guess I had some bad luck but doing kinda ok otherwise

it's located in /elona/save

I'm really curious how your wizard will turn out, there has been some discussion about how bullshit they are at the highest levels. Protip from what I read you should focus on just a few offensive spells, like single target, aoe, prolly a different resist (backup) from your main. Something like that.

Yeah wizards become really stupid late game because you can for starters, spam wizard harvest which yields gold and if you grind hard enough you can even cast wish

What inflicted that debuff, never seen it before

You can buy a drug or sumtin from the black market vendor, used it once to see what it does and now I have it, when it runs out it refreshes itself again

It's the addiction thing that was added recently then. I think it was bugged when it was introduced and won't run out pr something.

Also I'm surprised still there isn't something like chain lighting or something so I don't have to just cast a whole aoe and hit friendlies

Haven't got very far into the MQ, should be strong enough to get down to level 16 of lumionous or whatever today. Last time I played got my 3 LGs gene engineered with about 10 skills and with their travel skill I look forward to their stats going up (casting etc will go up even with no spells, but control magic, marksman, cooking and tradeskills will be useful now)

It's been ages since I played Elona original but I'm pretty sure there was always a mish-mash of stuff, especially with monsters and npcs.

You got that right, damage log related. In my experience, stick to one element and train the hell out of the debuff spell that helps it like Element Scar or Nightmare.

Control magic can aleviate that issue.
Also heres my sheet, just cleared crypt and castle and preparing to do the tower of fire. Considering the play time I feel like I'm severly lagging behind

All the spells level up seperately, so you will want to focus on only a few offensive spells. Magic dart is good because (almost) nothing resists it. Crystal spear/magic laser deals much better damage but it's rare. You need to apply debuffs to deal full damage with other elements (the debuffs still work on bosses, but the duration is cut to about 10%.) . In general bolt spells do better damage than arrows, and with the control magic skill your AoE magic won't hurt allies. Ice, fire, and lightning are the safest bets because Itzpalt's 2nd reward permanently boosts them by 25%.

Wasn't wizard's harvest nerfed? What really makes magic broken is that spell dice can go up to 255d255. Martial arts can do this too, making it better than any weapon at ridiculously high levels

Quick question: how do I get the big resolutions like you nerds? Mine is capped at somewhere around 1k

Config file, windowW and windowH.
windowH has a weird limit though, forget the actual number.

Horizontal resolution is uncapped but vertical is capped at around 900 (slightly less). Mine is currently set to 1920 * 856 and have a custom setup for resolution so that it renders without stretchig on my monitor (monitor is 1920 * 1080). Also can see from starting house location to port capul so it takes a little getting used to.

Both do have to be multiples of 4 though and I suggest either taking a resolution half of your monitor or setting up your display to not stretch it because everything goes blurry otherwise.

You can set in the options too.

Lightning is the best of those three because Wet enemies have reduced lightning resistance. Just chuck a potion of dirty water or zap a rod of bubble ball and your damage gets boosted.

I finished the intro stage of lesimas and am just dicking about random dungeons grinding out spells and loot to sell

That bonus was also added to ice a while ago. The damage multiplier is even higher than lightning's.

I'm the same level and have similar (slightly worse) stats but half as much playtime. What have you been doing?

Lightning doesn't break stuff. Had a speed upper break on me from cold a few minutes ago.

Can't find herb seeds, and having my bell kill everythig probably isn't helping stat training either.
Trying to find ways to make money aswell no idea how my level is so low.

I guess you can perform, or create rods and stuff like that, those usually sell for way more than regular gear

I usually just chuck anything that I don't want that I find in the shop but seemingly the selling speed has been reduced

craft and sell putitoros
also stow away that bell if you intend to ever get any skills to increase

I alwready just put it on defense, I kindof like having it around and if I ever encounter anything that I can't kill myself I just let it shoot them.
Do putitoro really sell for that much?

If your faith skill is decent preaching is an option. This character is the first time I've taken it seriously and it's basically Ensemble but based on will/faith instead of CHA/performer, the difference being that most everyone wants to train faith anyway. At 56 faith I can overkill party time quests and get ~5k gold in one use, then hunt for uniques to cook and sell.

Keep an eye on the shop's selling potential, when it becomes bad/hopeless, feed it some bronze coins.

4k a piece I think, cant remember exactly because aside from the character sheet screencap I havent played the game in quite a while

I haven't played since 1.71 but intend to get back into it soon.

...

It's one I've used online so I covered it for the sake of anonymity.

Shopkeep isn't doing to bad stats wise, i think negotiation maxes at around 160 for shopkeepers dosn't it? Maybe I'm just expecting too much from it but I need a shitload of money for flying scrolls and stuff like that bacause fairy

Preaching works during party time quests?

Yes

Which gun is usually better?
Machinegun, pistol, sniper, laser, etc?

Laser for consistency at any range, shotgun does most damage but damage drops imediatly after first tile by a third and machineguns are most consistant. I don't think pistols or rifles are actually usefull.

elona.wikia.com/wiki/Ranged_Weapons
For range modifiers
elona.wikia.com/wiki/Equipment/Technical
For technical information and average damages for each material etc. The spreadsheet is really useful but might be outdated a bit (as far as I know the information present hasn't changed though)

...

Can you give me some tips for a literal newfag
I just started and don't even know what to do

Explore and experiment, thats it for newbies, don't drink, read, use cursed stuff since it usually fucks you over, when you see etherwind run to a town and tell the vendor in there to take you to the shelter, cure corruption potions are rare and expensive they are used to cure etherwind symptoms, have fun.

elona.wikia.com/wiki/Controls
Check here for the controls, you'll get used to them after a while and if you're like me you'll hate the action menus so it's better just to learn each key.
Leave your cave, head to the first town and pick a pet. Most people go with the loli as it's easily the best choice given all of it's equipment slots. For money/platinum at the very start do book delivery and escort jobs. Once you get a good amount of platinum, travel to each of the major cities and learn all the skills at all the trainers.

Keep this in mind as well. After that it's pretty much up to you to make your own goals. There's always the main quest if you ever feel like you're losing direction but you really shouldn't be touching that for a while.

I was giving him a comparison, which is what he wanted.

Fucking god damn it, I can't even find a vendor with a prevent teleport stuff

Time to play blackjack, user

Can you post the character? I'm actually kinda curious what they're like.

A quick rundown on magic

OP is a slut. Just make a guy and die a bunch and when your ready, remake a serious guy. Warrior is easiest start, for a free pet in the first town pick the little girl, you can ride her, you can mount her, you can train her, put a leash on her, dominate her, whatever you want but she's a strong melee backup suitable for any style.

Etherwind = Nuclear Fallout, best thing to do is use a scroll of escape and make sure your freezer is stocked with food at all times. Potions of cure curruption can be found one in a million in puppy cave, or you get married for 1. I have 4 now and have used 2.

I forgot some other shit that I think any newb would like to know.
Stats and skills train on potentials, higher potential means they go up faster, the more you train them the lower your potential goes.
SO - For stats you hire a maid and a random trainer (until later) will come to your house (cave) to train you for PP, certain foods also train you.
For stats you train with PP.
You earn PP by doing quests in the town, you also get skill trains every level.
You also get more skills buy spending pp at a cost of 5pp per skill (+1) per new skill until max 15pp. It takes a while to grind.
TRAVEL skill raises all skills and gives XP it's kind a a lol skill, but even a warrior can get casting skill this way and therefore increase magic.
(Raising relevant skills raises stats all based all factored on potentials)

Can't really say, since I only had experience playing on plus.
But if you mean whether if stuff like "light sabers" "big daddies" or "kaneda bike" is somewhat immersion breaking, I guess I can understand if that's a problem for some people.
But to be honest, in the very first town you're thrown into, everyone's too busy obsessing over some barmaid's ass, and in the next town over some dude wants your wife to NTR you for prizes. It seems it's always been pretty random, it just depends on what the last straw is that breaks the camel's back for different players.

I don't think that's right. When you "relearn" a spell the level and potentials should still be the same. It just removes it from your spell list since you have no stock for it anyways, which means you can't train it by means other than casting but that's about it.

spell stock. the reason I don't want to be a wizard.
books could have done something else like maybe raise potential, I think it's stupid that you simple can't cast your favorite spell if you can't find a new book of it though.

Oh, and just some slice-of-life I guess, decided to drop out of the beginning of act 3 to plant some herb.

It's really not that big a deal when you join the mages guild since you can order specific books and buy more or less an infinite amount of them at your leisure. At first I was a bit reprehensible about stocks too, but in the end I'm glad I picked a wizard.

I meant the cucumber warriors bread spirit and things like that. I don't have a problem with the NTR thing or sheenas ass or references.
On the balance end it seems to be trying to force people into specific playstyle and also overbalances and gamefies things.
Honestly the gamefication of certain mechanics and things that look like their just put in to seem funny in a randumb way are much more distracting than a reference here or there.

was act3 a challenge?

Where do you even get all the seeds? Recent patch also made it possible to plant on any tile so is it technically better to make a dungeon to plant in?

My loli just made me my 1st breakfast.

Basically been playing like a farmer from day 1 and powerlevelling stats/gold income as much as possible. Had a good time with potential potions as well with a significant stack of them. The problem is that I can only really do anything by spamming Gravity Sphere (which is very strong with my CON) since martial arts at this level does fuck-all to anything that's an actual threat. So I need to find a way of getting that skill up.

Well, then again, I'm only still playing on 1.54 so there most be a lot other stuff now that I'm completely unaware of.

I was pretty much at the point where most the tasks were already beginning to feel underwhelming, so I decided to search for other challenges. Also, I'm kinda sorta waiting for the rest of the story to get translated before progressing it any further.

I get them mostly from ranching Kumi's fairies and cloning his statues, also replicated a lot of his rejuvenation gems too so none of the herbs I plant go to waste.
Pic related will finally be reality?

Are you on the version without the shop balance change? Specifically the one where you can't sell things for higher prices than you buy them? I used to make most of my money by employing a couple of magic vendors, buying everything from them and dumping it into the shop but now that you can't do that anymore it's become significantly more tedious to get useful scrolls and potions (and more importantly, money).

You referring to that shop specification thing they added back in 1.57? I'm still 3 versions before that.
I heard some anons brag about how they would end up making gold within the billions due to the sale modifiers placed on different classes of items. I guess Ano may have felt it was too broken of a system that could be abused as an exploit of sorts, same with the spirit cheesing on party times and the constant wishing in moongates.

I'm sad they got rid of being able to craft panties to sell. That was pretty darn lucrative as well.

Holy hell. Is there even a reason to update?

I haven't kept up to date with versions past 1.71 but do recall some neat stuff being added as well, like how sense quality works on non-equipment items for example.

Also

you can upgrade cart weight limit pretty cheaply with bronze coins at the dwarf workshop.

freaky I had this tab-related page open just now.
elona.wikia.com/wiki/Garokk_the_legendary_smith#Elona

Dorfarm so far. Also I managed to get this lovely blade, and thanks to my massive speed and blood stream, I was able to kill him before he brought an end.

...

Do you have no pets or something? I'm sitting on 240 because I don't drink all the hermes and speed uppers myself.

I have torch, she moves about as fast as I do.

Most of our speed comes from spending AP, which you can do after you beat act 1.

yeah, figures. At least AP is kind of easy to come by.

how many shoes do you chug on you breakfast?

I do have other pets, one that is even higher level than Torch, but he's a recruitable NPC.

Platina still outspeeds us, but can NEVER gain AP because of it, due to it's starting speed being so high. Necrodancers are there for the high end Party Time! jobs, but I might just get rid of them and just train Torch and Platina into performance since they can keep up with me.

I also tend to get lucky and find speed uppers and I have a quickling ranch+100 cooking. But still, the fastest way to get speed is grinding AP, there is a limit though depending on the act.

Two questions for you anons. This game is entirely singleplayer right? And does it use M+KB controls or is it entirely keyboard based like a MUD?

Technically not only singleplayer but interaction with others is limited to special pet arena, chat and moongates (servers are down, you'd have to connect to a fanserver). Map editing is done with the mouse but everything else is keyboard only.

Single player, no mouse controls

How you connect to fan server or use chat for that matter?

I'm not entirely sure how to specify a fanserver but the following link probably has enough information to brute force your way through it:
elona.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:19535
Chatting can be done through a seperate application packaged with the game (elochat.exe, needs to be closed with console though because bad coding) or ingame using tab (I think, I've never actually used the chat). Chat messages would appear ingame in the bottom window.

Ofcource you also have to actually find a server setup for this so the information might be entirely useless… (I seem to recall at somepoint someone here or on half was going to setup a server but I don't know wether they ever got around to it or it may just have been my imagination)

Well shit

I'm currently running Sheriff with a Grav Gun Noble, Bowgun Hunter and a Rocket Launcher Militia as helpers but I don't think I'll make it much further with this group (currently round 2)

Yeah, that guy in the thread named Jsdtroy actually had one up and running up until October. Due to some complications with the host server it was taken offline again, but he plans on getting another one up soon once he has the free time.

Shame. I wonder wether there is any information on how to host one yourself. What kind of code does it require?

On a seperate note a solution to the money problem might be to put "your home" next to noyel and return to and from noyel/vernis using lesimas and home. Cargo goods sell for quite a bit between these locations.

great game

Are you aware you can ask guards for directions to person which you search for in quests?

It should say and you can ask the guards for general directions to the person.
It could also be that they got assasinated at some point after you took the quest at which point you're fucked. If this happens the dialog with the guards won't show.

I did ask the guards and nothing showed up so I'm assuming they got assassinated before I got there, went ahead and deleted the save and started my third today because of shit like this. I like the game, I don't like some of the bullshit within it.

scrubzard

You seem a bit butthurt :^)
Joke aside, it's not really something to restart a save over… Karma can be raised at Derphy by doing quests since it has no guards.

Unironically learn the game and git gud, next time at least read who you have to deliver the item to

I was butthurt but this save is going well so far so I'm going to stick with this one

There is nothing stopping this from yielding right?

>There is nothing stopping this from yielding right?
Only by killing it fast.
Also don't bother making it pet. Spawned pieces will be hostile to you.

That's a little too much.

Wasnt planning on killing or capturing it, it's also great for training armor/tactics/evasion/greater evasion/etc.

Does anyone know if ranched creatures spawn with equipment they usually spawn with if naturally generated? FSm and nobles might be good to steal lightsabres and pantsu from.

Thinking about it, since I have elo+custom I can make it a pet and force it to spam summon instead of waiting for it to summon them. Do pets summons still spawn with same rules or do they stop giving exp and artifacts?

Oh shit got a wish, what should I wish for?

astral light pen

This little moth looks cute btw.

seven league boots

It's a moth… what did you expect?

It's probably not a very high level wish and dal-i-thalion exist…

so other than my pet getting increasingly pissed off what are the dangers of it being killed by pirates every time I high-tail it outta there when they try to rob me

Don't make me want to start fucking moths.

No, they don't.
Ranch is only good for corpses and produce.

Seven League boots are 5x faster than the dal-i-thalion.

hes level 14, it will take a weeks playtime until he can use the astral pen sensibly while seven league boots are an immediate benefit and a huge QOL improvement

Lightsabre farm never ever :(

Only that.
It's nothing when you can give some gifts to it.

aye, and what kind of gifts would a bear like?

is it a boy or a girl bear ;^)

male :^(

Even aurora ring would be better on that level.

cop y/n? it costs 5338 gp

Its a really meh armor, you'll probably get a better one from spamming puppy cave and buying something from he black market

Kinda pointless if you decide to spend your time at home reading skill books or using the training machine.

the reason for the astral light pen is because they are hard to get and will be an annoyance if you find yourself wanting to copy gwen and can't because you don't have one.

I'm really not sure of the current trade value between cargo, but I think they changed something with the traveling cart in later versions. That sounds like a nice idea though, but if teleporting while over burdened is still a problem, would you simply load up on all the necessities in Vernis, then unload everything in one of the static environments(because fuckin janitors), and just teleport everything back home little at a time within your carts capacity?

...

There are far better rings in my opinion, like the Ring of the Steel Dragon (despite the speed penalty) and the Palmia pride.

...

Could do that, if you exceed the carrying capacity of the cart you cant tele but otherwise it shouldn't be a problem. What you suggested is probably a good idea for maximising gains as you can exhaust the inventory every time and level them up faster.

Can't get for wishing and you can hotswap the aurora for utility. Ofc people are going to use those rings, especially steel dragon, they're too good and I'm pretty sure nothing can actually compare (with palmia pride maybe, but 50 PV on a ring is rediculous).

It looks like shit.

There is gift item that you can give to your pet.
They sometimes spawn at general shops and can be bought in Noyel at December.

It's still useful during bad weather.

that's what I generally do, though most of them are impossibru but I always go for the ones I know I'll actually succeed in

I found an exploit, if you head to Noyel or anywhere in that region as it's snowing, cast Return to home, it's still technically snowing.

Meaning you can either waste time reading skill books and using the training machine, or leave your home and let it rain so you can mess with your garden.

And it snows in that region ALOT

I wish there was more lewd stuff to do, do they plan something with the evo chat?

You can already prostitute yourself, force pet girls to sleep with you kiss/caress npcs and swear alegiance to a exhibitionist, dominatrix godess and breed humans on a ranch. There is technically a flavor of elona based around lewd but it's probably jp only and shit. Just get some lewd sprites and turn all your pets into monstergirl version. There are voice files within which you can customize what your pets say under what cicumstances aswell.
Does rod of alchemying an aurora ring turn it into any ring or does it keep the specific item type (and quality?). I know that they have a low chance to produce a completely random item.

so while in my sleep I apparently wrote down on my map a hiding place for treasure, and now that I'm at the spot searching does nothing and I've cleared that patch of wilderness twice now, so I'm not sure of what I'm supposed to do to get this treasure

[D]ig at the spot and [g]rab treasure.

To be specific you need to do it on the world map

...

be careful of gunfish, they parry ranged attacks

Is the discarded ranch worth it? Or will it reset pets back to their default when you bring them out?

As far as I know it will reset their appearance and if you're using elona+custom remove their extra spells but apart from that it should keep the pets attributes.

...

Does the bell has retarded speed or something?

If by retarded speed you mean the opposite of retarded then yes, gold bell has 652 and silver/platina has 678.

Holy shit wat

Nah.

They also have the cMetal bitflag which makes them take 90% less physical damage. Unfortunatly come with limited equip slots and 1 life (not hp, life. hp minimum caps at 15 or so. Both flaws can be fixed with gene engineering and hero cheese/rubynus gear respectivly).

Another major flaw is that it's next to impossible for them to gain AP because of their starting speed.

Well, they still can from some enemies later and since the abilities are the only important things from AP it's probably (I havn't actually checked) enough.

So remember when I asked weather the nightmare would drop from king spawned knights? I accidentally killed the king ages ago (8 ingame days) just read a scroll of oracle and… yeah…
Seems to be anti-cheese (can't steal it from them either since precious).

Speed (up to 400 in Chapter 2, 800 in Chapter 3), special actions and spells, two feats, and Rank Up.
Bells are great in Chapter 1, but once you can just buy speed, they no longer have an advantage to make up for their disadvantages. Personally, I choose pets based on rare or unique abilities. Like, if you want Super Regene, you could go with a harpy.

cMetal tho…
and if you spent time during chapeter one with it you probably want to keep it around, I've been gene engineering the standard equip slots onto it so I can shapechange it to pick related without it seeming off.

If you really want an overpowered or "pet with unique abilities" as soon as you are level 23 you can astral light pen karata the seminar mascot. Only pet you ever really need.

Just an update on the noyel -> vernis trade route:
If you build your home and a storage house next to noyel and a storage house next to vernis so that they are accessable within one tile you can use the traders in both towns for massive profits.
Vernis → Noyel
All Except:
Christmas tree
Snow man
Piano
Art
Canvas

Noyel → Vernis
Above except piano

Any time your cart would be overweight go to the storage house and drop off cargo until you can buy from the vendor again then return either to you home or lesimas (escape scroll out of lesimas) head to town and sell the goods. To speed up the shop rank gain you can buy any cargos that you shouldn'nt and sell them back to the vendor at a small loss. It might also be an idea to invest in both the magic shops and buy the scrolls of escape and return from them.

Also of note for anyone that still cares is that the cargo vendors reset their gold amounts much faster than they restock so it's worth keeping cargo that you can't immediatly sell in a storage house nearby.

pirate shakedowns really do ruin the fuck out of this game, it would be better by a large magnitude without the fucking nigger pirates

Well, what you mentioned actually reminded me of a similar method I learned of from one of the anons over on halfchan some years back, just his was only more super jewy though.
Basically, it involves purchasing a shack and a bunch of removal deeds, and relocating the house each time it's filled up on the following route locations: Derphy(coffin, grave, whisky)->Noyel(christmas tree, snowman, piano)->Port Kapul(tuna, manboo)->Yowyn,. So you can maximize gains on every spot and repeat the same cycle over from Derphy once traders resupply themselves again. Never actually employed this method myself though, and have no idea if that trade route still retains the same lucrativeness on newer versions. But probably not a bad way to make money really fast earlier on.

Just get stronger, fag. They never increase in level after level 50, and they're pretty easy to deal with once you start metagrinding yourself into op formulae via speedbuffs and stat bonus'd special/godly equipment starting at around level 25.

Go play skyrim instead faggot

I'm not even level 10 yet, how do I get good equipment and grind properly, I haven't even touched the puppy cave yet and all I've been doing are escort/before it's too late jobs to build up money to buy good equipment of which there rarely is any.

The only problem with this is that going to noyel ingame takes alot of time. It might just be me but I hate spending ingame time, it just feels wrong to do. Apart from that using the house as a really large backpack would work and is a really good idea actually (despite the cost of removal deeds).

Make/buy change material scrolls, get a bottle of water and bless it at an altar mix both together and then take cheap equipment (like miracle raw equips you traded from adventurers) and use the scrolls on them. Other than that shop around for even slightly better gear until you have gear good enough to go dungeon diving for proper loot.

Picking up farming and weighlifting to go to yowyn and do the harvest time quests isn't a bad source of income either.

how the fuck do I check my karma? there's nothing in my journal about it.

Character sheet has it on it

Just cleared tower of fire, time to grind to kill zeome

Fairy with over 300DV and 200PV, totally balanced good ring 10/10.

Show it.

it's "just" the steel dragon ring and palmia pride (at +15 and +10). The fact that you get them so close together is kinda rediculous.

Managed to get this lovely little item, and found a way to abuse it.

Would be better with a horde of quickling archers. Or a couple of kings, then you could run around killing the summons for multiple skill training (or more likely since you're so slow with that thing on you get surrounded and don't even have to move).

Vishnu's have 4 hands and attack with all of them at once. Summoned crap doesn't give you skills or anything.

Summoned chess pieces will give you skills if you didn't summon the king. Also intentionally dimming yourself would be usefull to maximise crit chance to train greater evasion also.

I just checked for this strategy and, if you don't mind your stuff getting piled into the centre, you can use deeds of shack instead of removal deeds to relocate your home (this ofcource also resets the house to a default shack each time, so if you customised your house you might want to stick with removal deeds). It's alot cheaper that way.

Do second floors of shops still function as shops?

According to the wiki:

Forgot that, I'm an idiot.
Pity, I wanted to create a shop where my little girl sells stuff I pick up while adventuring from the ground floor of our "house".

That sounds comfy as fuck, it's a shame your dreams have been crushed.

There are tiles that look like stairs, so you could still redesign your shop into a cozy house with a shop on the "ground floor".
Although you'd get customers wandering around everywhere. It's a pity there's no way to designate shop tiles as "backrooms" or "employee areas" or something.

A SS13-like area designating layer for maps that would change the way NPCs interact with objects and tiles in that area would be nice. So, for example, you could designate a "shop" area in your museum to have a gift shop.

Just use a rod of make door and close it.

played about 7 hours a day for 7 days
just finally got all the skills, including mage, warrior and rogue. (by sneaking in and training and escaping)
level 24
just bought an estate
loli can cook breakfast

Correct me if I'm wrong but if an NPC in your shop/museum/etc is removed a new one would be spawned in a random valid location, so if one in the shop where to die a new one could be spawned behind that door. Also, items stored on the floor of your "house" section wouldn't be safe, so you're fucked of you want to use non-furniture items for decoration unless you use the display case tile; your choices in aesthetics are really limited that way.

I don't know where NPCs spawn, but you're right. Didn't really think that 'solution' through.

anything you leave (drop) in your properties is safe afaik.

With that I was referring to the shop in particular; as far as I know, if it isn't furniture, the item will be treated as goods, even if your shop specializes in a goods type that doesn't match the dropped item.

at level 5 they suck
at level 15 they just are a source of income/xp

And a nice bike. I tend to carry excess cargo to increase the encounter rate for the drops.

...

This is actually pretty bad advice, in my opinion, friend. Unless you need something specific from there, it's generally better to do easy fetch quests and harvest times for money and training with traveling xp. I'd only recommend puppy cave for finding random shit for identification, speed leveling money-buffed pets, or grinding pet affinity.

disagree. Puppy Cave is a great place to be in balance with deliver item and escort quests (the only ones I could do at low level)

But you don't gain anything from it outside of the drops. Killing enemies doesn't give you anything in elona compared to other games where it's paramount to kill things to grind. In elona, it's more like platinum with killing things is paramount. On top of this, puppy dungeon gives less than the average level 1-10 dungeon because it has no gathering spots, no small medal drops and no plat drops outside of killing the occasional bell but only if you're a mage. No bejeweled chest, no fame gain and therefore passive income gain, and it sucks.
Puppy cave is fucking worthless after you identify what you need to, especially since platinum is the more valuable of the two. And another thing, with the traveling skill you're using while doing the bitch boy fetch quests, you're STILL grinding faster than puppy cave runs because you passively train everything over 300% with all the plat you're getting.

I might focus my attention on this metal instead.

...

But the thing is that hes having issues with bandits, so puppy cave is a good place to find a few books and rods to sell and gear himself up before doing any of the bitchboi quests, also between doing fetch quests and before its too late, grab the poisoned one jobs and stack fat gold in 2 or 4 jobs and you're set. To this end puppy cave is a good spot because nothing that spawns there will outright kill you, remember that on low levels even a fucking hedgehog will kill you on bleed stacks, same for hunger demons

Time to grind derpy missions

LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR

They can be useful

How'd you manage that? Did you meteor palmia? Ragnarok vernis by smacking the hoodfag?

I took 3 before too late missions that went to the same place and got pirates

That's hilarious and unfortunate. Rip in peace you poor bastard.

Skill up your gardening and grab the magical herbs perk. It gives you a screen wide AoE that scales with your attributes and gardening. It'll let you one hit kill the pirates everytime and should leave you with the pirate boss on low health.

Issue isn't pirates but npcs charging and getting raped because escort jobs always give you low leveled shit to protect, it was just a poor chain of decisions, I should have known that it could happen

This AoE will literally kill all the pirates in the first turn, negating any chance for your escortees to die.

...

Yeah but at any point does the game become sentient and try to end my life?

the second you start it

the second you look at it

Dimension fishing sure makes those panic/challenge jobs much more quicker, especially when dealing with stationary enemies.

Dimension fishing?

It is a wide skill special attack that unlocks after you get a certain amount of fishing skill. It allows you to draw an enemy anywhere on the map.

I was planning on getting 30 mining for houzanha and just destroy the map instead, but dimension fishing is a pretty good idea

At what level or whatever you get that special party dance to perform?

After spending like 10 blessed flying scrolls, I've made my ranged weapon of choice, and still be at medium weight.

Yes, see this section of the PC sheet, that only appears to be referring to your "progress", is in actuality the conversion of your already spent life span merely being read out as the game's playing time. Quietly it drains the essence of your soul, that it requires as a an energy source, to further expand itself into a never ending living adventure.

If you mean the Ensemble special action it's at 30 performer. If you meant Sexy Dance it's a feat.

Looks kinda meh tbh apart from the mp absorb (give it to a bell just to see how much magic reaction damage it will cause)

Its really mediocre outside of the retarde die roll because of being a ballista

Has anybody used a Cute Fairy ranch to farm seeds? If so, how do you get these faggots to eat? The fairies that are bred won't take my food and the one assigned as a breeder never seems to get hungry

They say once you die you go to the world of elona for real
as a snail

Forgot to mention at the time that user was also pooling all of his plat into his negotiation, I guess trying to minimax his growth in all the necessary areas to ease all the financial burdens for the gene character he was starting.
Yeah, there's definitely more bang for your buck if you just buy the shack deeds instead. I think the guy had a snazzy looking house at the time and didn't want to mess anything. So in that case, it was just a matter of vanity over practicality.

I actually tried to do something similar with my shop, trying to turn it into a department store.
Npcs, that visit properties, will not always remain on the same tile they spawned from, where ever they move to is where they'll stay the next time you see them. You can also try moving them yourself by teleporting or bumping into them.

I've been ranching cute fairies like a faggot, and they can be somewhat frustrating since they do take forever to get hungry. First, you need to recruit the ones that are bred in order to feed them. The key is to increase their speed stat so that they're on par with yours or higher. (You could also try slowing yourself as well.) That way they'll appear to become hungry more often but it's really because anything that starts out slow takes a very long to make enough turns to become hungry. If it's too expensive to feed them speed uppers or herme's blood, try taking them out traveling after teaching them swimming (for when it rains) and traveling skills to gradually increase experience and speed stats.

I also used to try tag teaming myself to one on the world map, but that's probably going a little overboard.

So I wonder what god I should please this time?

Unfortunately it's too fucking heavy and I need to keep medium weight for spell casting.

Anyone got any ghost girl PPCs for the use of this ghost I just pokeball'd?

Take it into ranch to make ghost corpses that raise will.

anyone?

SE of the graveyard.

oh, fuck there it is. thanks

No problemo. I love doing treasure maps.

I want to use her in battle, so I want an animated sprite that suits her.

the bloodyshade link doesnt work, also for a complete newbie i find it a bit hard to understand what it is exactly?

Site isn't working for me either. Might be down temporarily.
It's just a repository for all Elona+ as well as custom versions. It has a bunch of other stuff too.
If you need a custom download
elona.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:25014
you can find the newest and some older versions here.

Here's the mega link for elona custom, you can get it off the wiki.
also for a complete newbie i find it a bit hard to understand what it is exactly?
What what is? The game? It's a sandbox roguelike that lets you marry your pet loli

just meant the bloodyshade link but ty anyway. Do i need this elona custom stuff if im just starting or should i just get it later?

ElonaC does adds a few more stuff than vanilla but I guess it's up to you

I do recommend custom. It adds some neat things, most notably the ability to give your pets a custom AI so they behave the way you want them to in combat, and you can teach them spells and skills.

I disagree, I'd say definitely use custom for your first try. It adds pet AI you can play around with among other things.

You can upgrade from Elona to Elona+ to Elona custom at any time.
However it's best to start with Elona+.

Should have kept your karma negative; who needs to be a good guy when you're a pimping wizard anyway.

alright installing C as well thanks!

for comparison

i downloaded and installed elona+/elonaC and when after creating my character and getting to where the game is finally about to start i get an error. any fix for this?

Download it again.

wow, feel kind of stupid now for not thinking of trying that, but anyway running it in windows 7 fixed it so ty for the help

I decided to praise the magic god this time.

Since I don't have a magic pet, I might grind this little guy up too.

Does anyone else use duel gloves on adventurers that have very valuable artifacts on them?

Not really since most of the times the adventurers I find are retardedly strong

Dorfarm is now level 80, here's his progress so far.

So far I've kissed the asses of Mani, Kumiromi, Opatos, and Yacatect. And I'm currently following Itzpalt, who is super easy to gain favor for.

I do one better. I have a black cat and an item I want to upgrade. I give the item to the adventurer and then start the duel. Then I let the cat kill the adventurer, there's a chance that the cat will lick the item which gives it an extra attribute if the cat kills the adventurer.
Duel gloves are also a good way to get figurines for my museum.

Should've gone jure and opatos first since junk stones count as favored offerings. Especially for the golden knight and defender pets which serve unique roles (the upgraded defenders absolute defence skill seems a bit op tbh).

Not actually complaining about it being op btw….

Finally got ensemble skill so I can start properly doing the party time quests

Is there any reason that I should save rods of alchemy for? I tested it and nothing seems to turn into usefull things (rings don't turn into aurora/speed rings, potions dont turn into cure corruption, rods not into wish, etc. If they do it's so rare that they have ahigher chance to turn into a completely random item).

Time to play golem perfomer

Fucking hell

Yeah prices there are absolutely retarded

Do magic shops ever sell the scroll of growths? If so, at what level of investment?

I think those are from the special shop at noyel during december parties

No idea but I know that hey (rarely) sell potions of potential at around level 110. Without the 20x cost or so that the suveineer vendors sell them for.

I havn't actually noticed an increase in quality of stock from 120 to the higher thousands in shop level. Used wizard mode to check on an older save during the 1.5x updates.

Aight, made a dragon wizard and will make him a fist user, with magic spam

On a seperate note…

Are you scaring children?

Unfortunately potions of cure corruption remove two diseases instead of one, makes managing the ones you actually want much more difficult.

:^)

fug :D

I like how the game doesn't give a shit if you just kill random bystanders, as long as they're not actual citizens you can talk to.

It's even funnier when some bystander reads a summon monsters whatever and they start getting slaughtered by them

Apparently unexpected suicide is always the no.1 cause of death, it's like Darwin can only hand out so many awards in this game.

//// ////

When you get to 45 alchemy, you can get a shit ton of potions of potential, literally drink them for breakfast. Pays to have party members who can gather shit and to raid dungeons during Fever.

The hard part is raising skill potential, as I haven't found an easy way to get scrolls of growth.

I dunno how much platinum you're blowing through at level 80 but between doing quests, mysterious envelopes from salary and Yacatect's god reward I've never had a problem keeping skill potentials high (I'm level 50 now)

When all of your skills take 4 or so plat to increase it becomes a pain. That is if you're not focusing on just a couple of skils but pretty much all skills.

Having to spend 10 platinum to raise up something like investment and negotiation isn't ever cheap.

Just encounter one of these elona.wikia.com/wiki/Cluster_bomb_rock
It's a funny kind of cuntish enemy, but a cuntish enemy nontheless.

I remember encountering a room full of these, but part of the map was covered in water tiles, so alot of them couldn't self-destruct unless they did so as soon as they split.

Gene engineered a hermit crab into my bell, it gained a hand.

Is there any advantage to teaching a pet riding?
Also I thought that creatures spawned on ranches don't train attributes but when I killed my livestock off my tactics was increasing as normal… If this is the case do splitters/summoners still split/summon while on ranches?

The Duel Arena seems to be a fast way to gain levels if you become champ.

And now the hermit crab can give the bell ring slots, they have neither ring nor hand slots. How does gene engineering even work? Rabbits don't do this…
I just checked and the hermit crab actually does have hand and ring slots, the wiki just seems to be omit this or am I reading it wrong? It says the shell race only has leg, shoot and ammo slots but the hermit crab on the farm has back, 2 hand, 2 ring, leg and ranged slots…

Oh, this is a rather interesting wide skill.

wat

You get it randomly from a dream

Does this mean that barrier just saved my life?

Probably, it shouldn't remove from MP if MP is less than a third though. I take it that it didn't cause a magic reaction?

It probably bugged since it's supposed to shield you and then move onto your hp so yeah, you got away with it

Lucky…

oh wow

what determines the cost of raising a skill with pp?

skill level/40 +1, I think it has an upper limit of 10.

...

...

I seem to recall it being possible to roll "Sand Witch" as an alias

The Virgin
do it

Picked scheming cloud but the game ended up crashing in the portrait selection because of a badly converted custom portrait. It really wasn't my lucky day for that.

fug

I don't get it…

I forgot that noone else will actually know what it is… I'ts a gunfish

...

who is that hottie on the stairs
does she want to make a trade?
like DNA style

L-lewd…

cute nipples

L-lewder, I'm just taking the Lulwy worshipping seriously
>>>/erp/

Go be gay somewhere else

...

I would bet near noyel because whatever, also how people get all those special sprites and hud? Looks nice

There are some texture packs floating around and some archives for large amounts of single sprites. You can edit them into the chara, item, menu, etc. bmp files. Just make sure to export them as bmp after without writing colorspace information and at 24 bit colour.

Did you find it?

Yeah. Thanks.
as usual, nothing worthy of note

lucky day

Do bosses in the void appear if you havn't/have defeated them yet? Do they still drop their unique equipment (which will most likely turn into stardust)?

I was hoping for something a little more… reasonable…

the more I play this game the weaker I feel, just getting all my stats and skills around 30 I just realize how much more there is yet to do.

Don't worry.
Max attribute limit is just 2.000.
I think it also applies to skills.

Too bad, that moongates don't do anything.
It would be fun to dive into one of these from what read about them on wiki.

Yes, some uniques also can spawn on random.
Yes.

These start dropping pretty frequently at your level and up, I've come to realize. If you have need of another one don't do what I did and blow 1 million gold on one at the Jure festival in Noyel, only to have one drop like 5 fucking minutes later.

Also we're on page 14, would you virgin loser shacks be interested in a new bread?

does spell casting raise stats?
ie: will casting cure raise willpower?

Yes, spells are a great way to raise non-magic stats if they're related to the right attribute. You can go to a wizard lesson trainer to get all of a type up, increasing your attribute real quick.

Maybe I should consider dual wielding staves for now?

Yes, leveling your spells increases stats depending on the spell. ie: Magic Bolt trains Magic, Concentration trains Perception, Cure spells train willpower.

That's Virgin Destiny, mind you. And more elona breads are always nice to see.

Yeah, by constantly spamming the Identify and Return spells is how I got my Perception to be so high.

Also, what's the deal with this "Stardust" I keep hearing about in newer updates?

stardust drops every time you would have gotten a duplicate artifact. that shell that drops, i've gotten 10 dust because of that.

dual wielding has a huge magic casting ability hit.

and…
dual wielding is supposed to be something like weight 4 or less in main hand and 1.5 or less in offhand iirc

I'm a Warmage, so I get +5% casting chance no matter what, my current casting chance is 91% max (it was 92% previously)

And look at the weight of both weapons, unless I got the main hand/off-hand wrong, both should be fine.

Oh, I see, so no more doubles. What exactly is it used for anyway?

I recently obtained the recipe to make drug kiserus. What exactly is this stuff anyway? And should I even think about ingesting it?

ingest

Don't, it'll give a debuff that it's 20% of skipping a turn and to detox yourself you'll have to let it happen like 30 or so times for every kiseru you use, same with tobbaco, pipes, etc.

ALWAYS form reading parties, it's a good way to grind up learning for everyone, as well as allows you to read high end books w/o shit trying to kill you. Keep reading until they stop leveling up for a long period, because that means their potential is super low.

With that stamina drain? Are you crazy? I need to find a way to combat that first.

level up and get kumiromi for 1 stamina per off-turn.

To give +1 enchancement to equipment with name.
It goes all the way to +15.

You can also use it to make random miracle/godly items via pot of fusion. Really helpful if you want to get some artifact boots of traveler.

seven league boots*

Anyone got a link to 1.67+ or 1.68+?

Can't connect to the Bloody mirror website, keep timing out. Thanks.

I just discovered that the green god thorn has been counter productive with my healing/meditation skill growth, so I'm just going to ditch that gimmick.

Just go to wiki then.

I think someone can do new elona thread now.

So I finished gene engineering parts, any suggestions on what to call her?

Do you mean you heal so fast now that it doesn't matter? What you said was a little confusing.

I think he means that, since it decreases healing and meditation and those skills train by healing hp and recovering mp, that the rate of training actually decreased.
The exp gain for skills also probably goes of base stats rather than buffed/debuffed stats.

Made a new thread
