He's the same range as the others. The mechanics behind crits are removed from stats. I read somewhere that wrestler rank and charisma affects the performance of the wrestler and how fast they break out of submission holds and pins, but I haven't observed anything in game that backs that up.

Bristol, and other user, it really irks me you went this far to try to… sabotage? I didn't rip your Pyra apart, or even really change the moveset, and moreover when I was tweaking it for testing purposes alone it was getting stomped by Sephiroth and I was actually trying to get an even matchup instead of a continual squash. I even knew Sephiroth was going to end up pulling a Thor because of the way he was built, and recommend tweaking to him before it happens.
There's a lot of tricks to clown actually. I wanted to update him for next mania for an even better thing, but since all this shit is going down because people wanted to find some dirt or something, may as well show off a little. He's designed in a very specific way, and I wanted him to just put on good fights with pacing. Every time he's shown up, people enjoyed it.
Submissions are fairly simple, and some anons who have been making edits already figured it out. There's only one thing that determines a tap out to submissions, one single specific "health."

Qwark, N. Tropy, and Ski Free Yeti were my own nomination and submissions, for those curious about this shit. After all the characters I've made for manias, there were bound to be a few that made it, among some other situations. I hope explaining what I know and cluing folks into the design is going to reveal that I wasn't really building these characters to just "win." I wanted people to get into fights, I wanted to create pacing and movesets and behavior people would look at. Bryan is a brutal shoot fighter, Clown is the fucking clown, Rawk Hawk is fucking Hawk Hogan, N. Tropy had all kinds of circular and roundabout attacks with his spindly legs (clockspinning etc.,) Qwark was supposed to be the big (actually cowardly) meathead he was in universe, the Ski Free Yeti ate people, Holla Forums just went straight for the win, Jaguar Warrior was an angry blessrusher, Jimmy had a moveset like he had in game and same with Russel, Riminah was a showy power fighter and the Mentor was a ground MMA fighter who wanted to end matches without making waves, Tiny Tiger was meant to do jumps as his attacks like he does in every game… I can keep going on about the design philosophy. I was going to give Viewtiful Joe user a good surprise too with the most recent tuning.

Some guy who loved his waifu a lot came to me and showed me that you had her in your workshop, and considering how fast she lost in the mania, and when we tested pyra ourselves she stomped literally everyone except for hand of evil (most ridiculous wrestler we've had so far) and wampa, we thought shit didn't add up. I'll trust that you guys really ddidn't rig anything, but the drama bit was a bit annoying. Honestly on my end Sephiroth was Zelevas-tier, I made the two very similar, or atleast I remember I did.

Power/Giant was a fair type. The only quip I had with Sephiroth was spamming spiral bomb, since finishers are boosted significantly and especially so with pin moves, so in our environments he was super favored. Zelevas was good but fair the whole way through.
I wish I could explain further on that but of all things I wanted to see that fight go a lot closer instead of what happened.

I am convinced Giant/Giant is not a fair typing because it takes a specialized type of fighter to win. Lots of folks in the past days of Returns etc. have been super meticulous in moderating anything with these typings. To be honest, yes, there are some wrestlers that are unmoving stones and sometimes that's appropriate, but they need to be balanced. Hands was enjoyed because the novelty of hands AND because the moment I came out with "HAWK WAS MY GUY" chat turned around and cheered the opposite direction, creating some real enthusiasm for it.

The anons that are making edits already know quite a bit that the designs are getting pretty aggressive and consistent. I mean, now there's even more on the table here but part of the philosophy with balancing was explicitly explained. I said outright, "I want to have these folks characters fucked with the least as possible. We want fair fights instead of squashes but there are things you can't just do to characters to arbitrarily 'nerf' them." In testing? Before things got "fixed?" Garrett was one of the best shoot fighters I've ever seen because he was designed in a way that choked the game mechanics. You can't really just shit on his stats because they're specialized, you can't take away random flash pin crits, and you can't just stop him from being a technical fighter who plays the strategy into the guaranteed submission hold later. I didn't have the final say on what happened to him and I didn't catch the actual match he was in this time.
I mean, cat's out of the bag, it kind of hurt to have this all fall down. And we haven't totally figured out what we're doing in 33, but we came to the conclusion about giant giant. It's either they get shifted to American/American or we find something else out - because American is the closest offensively to giant's affinities but of all things outside the ridiculous counter rate is overall better suited for a longer match. It was close enough without destroying the offensive parameters, and the kind of wall a thiqq character has doesn't need an 80% counter rate. In previous thread I said it outright that "good" breathing negates the primary issue with giant offense, as well as discretion. I can understand you feeling personally miffed but the fact someone tried to peep at my shit for sakes… I think it was a subscriber to my workshop but if its an IRL or a close steam friend it's a pretty risky betrayal and I'm tempted to just go shut out mode and not have this happen ever again. tl;dr: No dude, we wanted the opposite: we want interesting fights, and I wanted, vocally, to avoid screwing with core character behavior and concepts as much as possible while tuning them. We gave a number of bad ones a pretty significant boost even when they were underperforming.
I can't even remember whether I actually did touch Pyra's moveset, I said outright however that I wanted her to move opponents to the corner more often to give her a better shot at the phoenix kick because it was such a great move.

And if so, it'd probably be better to do it when the opponent's at large damage, because they move out of the corner too fast at small damage, because it takes a tad while for the wrestler to position themselves for the run attack on the turnbuckle. All I'm at liberty to say was I took a personal pride hit and came up with some shit to make sure that the people got what they wanted and I played the heel for it. I was really flattered when the dudes who said shit like "I REALLY HOPE IT'S JUST WRASSLING, HE WAS JUST PLAYING THE HEEL" and the four belts shirt etc. got made. OP actually was like "you sure you really want to just keep being the asshole don't do that" and I was like "so long as it gets people riled up I don't care I can play this part all day"

It's really complicated. For one, they need low discretion (which unfortunately affects breathing,) because that affects how they prioritize being in the center of the ring versus the edges, as well as how much they care about pins in the center vs. racking up damage. Another, they need to have a relatively common habit of hammer-throwing, because that's the usual set up. It also helps to have them use the headlock (3D) a bit because they'll position on the sides or in the corners and they're -supposed- to headlock into the corners more often but irish whipping into the posts is much easier.
I was both excited and concerned when people started making edits for a lot of reasons, one of them would be the fact that I would have a lot less control over that. It made for much less work, which I'm thankful for personally at least, but it was one of those things where we figured there might be some issue down the line.

As the person behind him, I managed to convince OP of these things and took the bullet and we set up a royal rumble people got hype for and yellow devil won it and everyone seemed pretty happy about the outcome. He saw the audience reaction to my bullshit, people ate it up and YOU ALL BOUGHT IT.webm, and we ran from it with there. I'm sorry Lemeza user, you're the one who got cheated here. It was a pretty intense mania besides what happened and it just seemed so bad to have a character that was disliked so badly win, and I was responsible for it.
100% on me. The "success" of the stunt and how people believed it affected OP. I would do it again if I had to though. It's wrassling. A good show is what people cared about. It isn't like VGCW and shit like that though where it is nearly entirely contrived, we figured we were like a vidya version of NJPW where it was certainly a lot more of a "competition" even if it was still a worked show. Thing is, OP wouldn't let me turn it into a worked show unless another disaster happened and it was the simple mistake of believing he made a mistake that allowed this to happen. I ran a few manias through day-of and day-before for testing and he didn't like the fact I'd done something like that at all, it was spoiled, etc. - I just wanted to make sure the matches weren't squashes and people would like what happened and usually that's how I would figure it out. OP was ultimately the one who made the calls though, I just told him what I knew and he set about any fine tuning or tweaking at his own discretion, and considering for the most part I'd say it worked out alright.

Hand o' Evil is on the high end of minmax, though i think at least some of the success is from having a very 'free' path to the finals from style matchups. I might be wrong on this but damage at least partially carries over (based off the bigger starts of later matches) so if Hand had gone up against more grounded fighters early it might not have been as dominant. The submissions are more of flavor thing though, torture chambers and all that. For nerfs, flip offensive style to Heel to turn off the giant trait and feel free to change 'Opp Down'%s to do the submissions more early and less late. Chip down attack stats evenly if problem persists.
I am a bit surprised Garrett would rate high, i found him to be very high variance. Roll-ups do little 'body damage' ,so often even when their spirit is out the opponent keeps breaking submissions before the ref arrives to call it. A fair few times he crit into the ropes and lost after due to that. I have since made him crit-fish less and wrestle more until late game, but that version also does better overall which may not be what you want if the previous one already over-performed.
Anyway, if any of my creations need to be toned down just bring up the who, what & why and i'll fix it.
Go ahead and nominate him. You at least know he's solid and has as much a chance as any other decent edit now.
