The studies that show which genres different genders prefer usually references modern game genres like FPSs or farm sims, but rarely do I see studies on what types of retro game genres different genders are more attracted to. Are male gamers more attracted to difficult platformers or pixel perfect shooters because they're more competitive than female gamers?

I find it interesting that gender went from being newspeak, to being synonymous with sex for about 35-40 years to going back to being newspeak as of a few years ago. Personally, I blame neo-feminishits for pushing the "gender is a construct!" shit.
