Linux has no games. Stay on your Windows™, Holla Forums.

Spec Ops The Line. I usually don't like cover based shit but I'm enjoying this game.

I'm stuck trying to get my internet working on my linux computer.

ifconfig, look that up.

...

...

I'm at that part in the slackware guide but no dice so far.

Tried to and my computer didn't like it for whatever reason.

...

My dubs are free software

Trying to get RenegadeX to work but it kills itself without NET and with it it just goes zombie.
So X3:AP it is.

Toontown Rewritten.

KARAKARA
Moero Chronicle
Kamidori Alchemy Meister

And I just downloaded .hack//G.U. Recode

I wonder if it would be possible to set up a doombox with DSL or Tinycore. That is, a computer that can play doom, make levels for doom, utilize SLADE, compose midis, and edit image files.

Oh wait…Linux Gaming… I uh…overlooked that. I'm playing all that on Win 8.1

Trying to decide between what fork of Ubuntu Xubuntu or Lubuntu or some other derivitave I want and talking myself into making the investment in a new CPU before the new CPU friendly mining comes out and rapes the msrp to death.
Does Ryzen have built in graphics or do you need a dedicated card like the nonAPU chips AMD has?

Ryzen is only CPU so you need dedicated graphics card. Raven Ridge APUs should however come very soon. Those will be CPU + GPU.

If I'm not mistaken, MOSTif not all Ryzen CPUs need dedicated cards. All Ryzen 5 CPUs require it, at least.

a million hours in MS paint

Well soon ain't gonna be soon enough, you know with the mining bullshit about to hit cpus again
Thanks for the advice though, I guess I can look into a refurbished/low low end card, even if it's a bottleneck the main issue is a usable system and gpus should at the very drop with the new gimmick in monopoly money printers

...

It's coming out on Feb 12th.

Yeah but it's january dummy.

Anyone got a good list of toaster-certified games? Here's some of my most played shit:

Translators Note: Karakara means thirsty. My nipponese learning is actually paying off.

How do you make Terraria run on Linux?

It's been ported to linux; at least on Steam anyways. I'm sure you can find a linux binary for the game in the share thread. There's also the option of just getting a windows binary and running it through WINE.

pretty sure gog released a drm free linux build too

You need to kill yourself.

Parsing through that giant GOG pack looking for stuff. I'm disappointed SWAT 2 doesn't work, even after finding the necessary patch they neglected to include in the torrent. I tried Full Spectrum Warrior but it's really not what I remember, and the FOV's so bad it makes me physically ill. Hopefully the other ones I downloaded will be more up to par.

Other than that, I've been pecking at a couple games that I will binge uncontrollably if I'm not careful: CK2, Dorf Fort, KSP.

I'm not saying it's impossible but you really should pick a different distro.

Gentoo is for communists.

Use knoppix or archlinux imo.

Gentoo is the exact opposite, it's complete freedom, where the user has complete control over his OS and builds what he wants from source.

C O M M U N I S T

Trips of truth.

If you installed a 17.04 version of any *buntu flavor you will need to make some system changes because some retarded overlook made it ship with a broken DNS service.

You need to make sure you got your gateway set right on your pc, as well as the right subnet mask for your ip range.

I didn't know there was a linux binary.
It doesn't work via WINE though..
but for those who are looking for games that work with WINE, pic related runs very, very well.

Or you know, just run fucking vm through linux and play games on your emulated windows installation.

(wasted)
freedom is a lie that enslaves you to your hedonistic pathos. Communism offered "freedom" and it lead to slavery.

That's why anarchocapitalism is the true patricians choice.

sure :^)

but user, then it isn't linux gaming ;3

Glad we agree. Socialism is cancer, that includes all socialisms

Aw, damn.

What the fuck?

user shame on (you). please I don't get into it. I don't want to derail this thread more. I just wanted to make fun of GNUJoo and there no video game system. not debate politics with a mentally retarded lolbert.

All tools must be used to fight communism.

Under your doctrine, boogie would have medical care, socialist.

I could run Dark Souls better on a Windows 7 VM than i could through Wine.

Also most games i want to play never work on linux: NieR, NioH, Killer Instinct, Elite Dangerous, Snake Pass, Toukiden 2, Dark Souls 3, and so on, i would suffer a lot if i didn't dual boot.

It would be really useful if we compiled a list of games that are confirmed to work well through Wine, instead of having to check game directly at WineHQ, that way we might see another game in the list that picks our interest, and play that as an option.

True anarchocaputalisma would quicly end up with chaos sooner or later that would lead to a new system being enacted. Trying to have capitalism without a governement is one of the stupidest ideas ever thought up but hell if I had the chance to see it I would just to see all the crazy shit that would happen. I do have a sneaking suspicion that it would just be more of the shit we see today with orwellian mass corperations breeding their employees from the ground up with indonctronation, brainwashing and constant propaganda and any smaller companies being absorbed or starved taking away any chance of real competition while a fake charade of competition is played out between the large compagnies as every year fake improvements are show inbetween them as the real meat gets downgraded more and more for mass-production.

Ironically the purpose of communism is complete freedom but it fails to take into account what happens when you try and let more than one entity with their own will have that freedom. Trying to put that ideology as a political system might be the largest screw up ever made by man as Marx was too stupid to think that it would be any better than just letting everyone on Holla Forums 2006 have the ability to delete posts, change the site or even ban people.

Still your observation does show why freedom of data is so good even if it seems communist on the outside. The free flow of information between individuals is much different than a political system that relies on thousands to millions of people.

this is a Holla Forums thread now

Boogie would not be fat ether because of youth training and forced military service.

What a time to be alive.

Good taste,
Opus Magnum and Shenzhen I/O is on loonix slash gahnoo and is the same dude that did Spacechem/TIS-100

Nice!

Overwatch

I'm playing react but having trouble getting it to work properly. Spent the morning compiling yarn and watching it download 3GB of deps.

communism and all marxian based ideologies are made to cause political unrest to install yourself as an unquestionable leader. It has nothing to do with economic freedom, that's all a lie.
Didn't you play Kirby Super Star?

Communism is a pretty shit way to become the Glorious Leader, because as we see in Russia, you'll inevitably be assassinated and replaced by your assassin.

Literally every marxian based political entity crumbles in its own decay, because it's not a workable system.
I said it gets you there, it doesn't do any favors for you after you're there since now you actually have to do things instead of lying over and over.

I think we can all agree, Theocracy is the best form of government if you want to be the Supreme Ruler.

At the very least it's less unstable

That's not important: when you're the Ayatollah/Pope/Dalai Lama/Mormon President, who would kill you? Assassins and those who hire them risk eternal damnation in a Theocracy.

Beg pardon, considering this from the position of a plebian compared to the ruling group. Mostly because actually running a country doesn't seem like a country something I'd want.
I simply want a peaceful life.

The true patrician's choice is nationalism and anti-counterculture sentiments, all these bullshit meme ideologies that aren't dealing with the main issue are the work of the devil.

>going to post that im having fun

Starcraft 2 through wine and nothing else!

I'm having fun playing doom too, user.

>posting images from Reddit
Go back, faggot.

This is what happens when we don't report this shit as soon as it starts.

Add factorio. It's not 100% toaster certified, but it works.

...

How do I know what those are?

Can't get Shenzhen to run; my integrated card doesn't support opengl3. Will try Opus Magnum though.

Will check it out, thanks.

I miss AssaultCube.

...

Assuming you're on a reg installation you'll be /24 subnet mask, as that's the common one for your average person. Also router gateway is normally the first bit or last bit in its domain so .1 or .254, since .255 is the broadcast.
My guess is 192.168.0.1, then just choose an I.P between 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.253.
It's been a long time since i've actually set up a network connection on a distro though, so i'm rusty and would be skeptical were I you.

Relax.

Can I get a edit that says "Femdom"?

It's a good distro imo. As the saying goes, "if you learn [distro x], you know [distro x]. If you learn Slackware, you know Linux." Learning on slackware is worth much more than learning other distros and once you've learned it it's a pretty sweet distro. It's also a sweet distro if you're old-school and like DOS.

Playing everspace. Its been pretty good.

Except slackware is a bitch and a half to do anything but practice. Just to have a gui set up you need a bunch of dependencies and the pkgs themselves for the specific gui you plan to use, then you need to know the command, etc. And that's just to go from terminal mode to reg pc gui mode. Forget getting your network set up and everything else. Granted, slackware has an incredible repository, but it wouldn't be good for gaming.

Fuck, the whole point of being able to make multiple partitions for different distros on your hard drive is so you don't need to use things on slackware like vidya. In serious response, there are actual vidya distros that come with steam preinstalled, or get one more windows vm friendly.

I love the fact that you can play DCSS in the terminal doing a one click package install.

What are you,Gay?

You gonna do it or not?

Are you really so shit in image manipulation that you can't do it yourself?

I don't have MS paint on my phone.

You can't put enough energy to post here on a PC and you want people to work for you? You do it.

If learning Linux is your goal you should just give LFS a whirl

...

What the fuck are you gonna be mining on a CPU?

You are a homo.

Don't reply user, its the same faggot that melts when you don't crop a phone screenshot, as if it was something to be displayed in an art gallery.

There's nothing wrong with Slackware. I'm just saying that it's not ideal for people who want a not-Windows to play their games on.

Monero is the only one I can think of where CPU mining is feasible, but it's still more profitable to line up like 8 GPUs instead.

Tugging your pee-pee to femdom is wrong user.

What are you gonna do about it? Stop me?

trying too hard

anyone here knows how to get aurora4x to work properly on wine? I've wasted about a week trying to do that and i'm starting to get frustated

My job here is done.

If the games you are playing are 10 years old why the fuck aren't you using wine?
Do you have brain problems?

What's the point of this exercise? Is there a secret assault handshake?

Grip strength actually helps a lot in self defense.

Forearms get stronger.

I am asking a hypothetical question for a Friend. Let's say my nutcracker was broken, could my friend buy one of those handshake of death devices, get ripped and then crack walnuts with my bare hands?

Your hands are probably too soft to focus your strength on the shell enough to break it. You'd probably still have to hit it against something hard. But this is just a guess.

He's right, games only take an average of 4 to 5 years to be fully compatible. Oh and yep you can't use some modtools or stuff like ReShade.

Wouldn't the user (my friend) get iron hands that are hard as steel after a couple of workouts? They wouldn't put a gorilla on that case just for show. I think i'll have to get my friend to buy one for science to get to the bottom of this. I wish i hadn't misappropriated that nutcracker tho.

No matter how tough your hands are, flesh in general is not good at applying pressure.

Your skin and muscle aren't going to be able to apply pressure well enough. If you want to crack nuts with your body, you'll have to use your bones.
It's really autistic but using your elbows or wrists to strike down on the nut when it's on a hard surface would probably be the best way to go about it. You could try hitting your wrists together with the nut in the center as well.
Just make sure you're not using your palms; that's just going to hurt like shit.

Good reference would be how shaolin monks break bricks; just substitute brick with a walnut and figure it out.

I always dreamed about karate-chopping nuts, but i always figured they'd fly all over the room and i'd have scuttle around the carpet to collect all the little pieces and god help me if i miss one. One false step and it'd be all over. Broken nutshells are sharp. and i'd have to wear shoes inside - That's not gonna happen! Socks - okay, but not shoes. It's not a home if you have to wear shoes inside.

That's not an option for me. Pretty sure i'd get a headache after a while. One nut, okay, maybe two or three, but what if there's a bumper crop?

Domination 5: Warriors of the new rape
And
Rimjob world
Also

You could also become an F1 pilot, which would give you superhuman neck strength from all the lateral G forces, making you able to crack nuts like vid related. As you can see, it's a perfectly clean, controlled crack. No shards flying anywhere, so you wouldn't have to wear shoes inside!

If any of you fags get the trial for illusion's forthcoming Koikatsu running via wine, drop some wisdom on me.

You can crack walnuts using another walnut. Put two in one hand (make sure they are secure against each other so they don't slip) and squeeze.

You guys do realize that she was talking about human nuts. Not walnuts.

Why isn't there a systemd free Ubuntu? Off the chance that it is spyware I'd like a distro that isn't Arch or Gentoo that's easy to use.

...

Linux native FAF client FTW

Still playing solo, no friends to learn it with

Want to get back to it just for the music and atmosphere

Comfy times with that 1 grill but tablet still doesn't fucking work on linux

Got it cheap when it was on sale ages ago. Can't help but boot it up for the elusive targets. Performance is abysmal if streaming/recording.

Trying to figure out if it will accept my current wine installation of windows steam instead of it attempting to create another. This shit worth it?

Still just can't get back to it for some reason. Need a VN kick up the arse. Are there any decisions? It mentioned difficulty but seems pretty KN.

Obligatory

This is froma drug rape doujin, isn't it

Yea no shit. Fuck off.

Are any of those open source games that Linux users occasionally shill any good? I really want a new, sandboxish MMO to play but nothing in the market looks good private or official.

What is this?

I dont play videogames

Nintendo switch

There are a couple of good open source games but no MMOs that I've heard of.

That's a steaming urinal cake

All user friendly distros will use systemd, because systemd is user friendly, same goes for pulseaudio.

??

it's magic

I don't recall having issues with the generic drivers in Windows. *nix drivers have worked out of the box as well, at least for basic usage. Have things regressed over the years or do you just have some weird budget motherboard?
At least the days of "don't have network driver to download network driver" and having to double-check that you have everything you need and making sure the downloads actually finished and aren't corrupt are generally in the past. Still worth keeping a supported bootable OS on a disc or USB stick lying around in case something goes horribly wrong.

...

XD

Lots of it. Why you ask?

You may need to enable dhcpcd.service .

...

All I know of is Ryzom and Planeshift, but all the news and press releases are ancient now so I'm not sure how either games are in 2018.

I honestly think that the difficulty of Slackware is vastly overstated. If you have ADD and can't be bothered to RTFM I guess Slackware is hard but it was my first Linux distro and it was easy enough and I like it. Then again I'm also fond of DOS so I suppose I had an easier time settling into the command-line. Still, if you're not brain-damaged, Slackware is easy enough to work your way around.

Also you vastly overstate the difficulty of typing "startx" to enter the GUI. Now if you're unlucky you'll have to type "xorgsetup" first and select a couple of menu options. If you want to hardmode it you can edit the xorg.conf file manually. In that case, the manual is your friend, so "man xorg.conf" will tell you what you need to know and you can get a basic xorg.conf up with "X -configure" if you feel like it.

Console emulators run on Linux natively, you know.

Forgot to mention this but you can also just run "xorgconfig" for your xorg customization needs. Usually it runs out of the box and xorgsetup will be enough if it doesn't though.

Kerbel Space Program

This thread went shit quickly.
I've been playing Cave Story + recently, and Stardew Valley, and playing some VNs, currently Katawa Shoujo. I created a Virtual Machine with PoL for Windows VNs only.

I'm almost done with my Arch + I3 installation, almost everything works as I wanted now, I need a good PDF reader, free as in freedom.

The worst part about playing gaymes on Linux is that the usual places where you can pirate games dont have the linux version when its available, or have it with 0 seeds…

All I want is fucking X3.

???

PSA: it's a trap

...

It's not a urinal cake, retard. It's a daikon.

It's obviously a urinal cake.

Everyone that loves taking corporate cock will accuse you of being a communist if you don't pucker up when they shove their cock in your face. GNU/Linux is about user choice. Proprietary software is dictatorial and monopolistic.

No, it's not, and you have no idea what you're talking about.

Disgusting. No wonder they make such shitty games.

You take that back. Panty Quest 7 is the best game ever made.
BEST GAME EVER MADE

All "japanese" game devs are actually White men who have undergone surgery to look more Asian in order to capitalized on western retards and untapped Asian pussy. Inf act, real "Asian men" are very rare.

Well then how do they know Japanese? You can't learn Japanese.

...

Hitler has a good point.

The world is anarchocapitalist and all the nations are just entities that exist within it, which means in practice anarcho capitalism wouldn't really exist.

If the US government suddenly collapsed then one of two things (or a combination) would happen, either nearby countries would annex the now lawless territory, or factions like corporations or remnants of the former government would establish new states that would eventually be considered to be nations. Capitalism is a great concept for how an economy should work, but there is always a power that rules over it.

...

No, I want a dictatorship with me at its head. Off to drink some hemlock, fag.

What the fuck?
Are you sure?

Where?

And you'll go as all tyrants do: to the grave, only for your progeny to bicker over your estates.

Earlier, starts about with these two posts.

I will not die. The world will die.

I've got some bad news for you, user.
Everyone will die someday, yourself included.

No, you don't get it. When I "die", the world for me will die, and it won't matter. Only my life matters, therefore, I should be dictator.

You didn't understand what he meant.

Well with an argument like that, who could disagree?

Do I want to, though?

I got a few questions.

Does someone else have an AMD RX Vega card used with their Linux install?
Are you able to use Radeon ReLive (desktop & game recorder)?

ReLive is part of AMD's proprietary windows driver AFAIK. OBS is a fine solution for desktop capturing.

I personally get far better results with ReLive over OBS i.e stable 1440p @ 60 fps, meanwhile I'm stuck with 720p @ 60 fps for OBS.

hey….try audacious instead of clementine if you want, I liked it better personally.

Has anybody of you goys managed to install the pirated version of C&C Generals? I downloaded one from the share thread and it fails at installing, like as soon it is about to install it complains that it couldn't find the first disc/iso of Generals 1 despite I have it mounted already

Welp I solved it already, the installer works when I copy the content of those 2 converted iso files to their own folder. I assumed that wouldn't be possible at all due to some weird mechanism built in place or so, but it worked for this goy appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=1717&iTestingId=95172

Whelp, Dystopia now works natively on Linux.

I've been playing Diablo 2 mods and Titan Quest Aniversary Edition via WINE, both work pretty nice on my old Laptop. I'm still waiting for Lutris to have GOG and HumbleBundle integration.

Blace your bets on which will come first; Galaxy linux support or Lutris gog support

Good taste
I've tried everything under the sun but I always come back to vim in the end. Spacemacs was kind of nice but I didn't like how slow it was, and had a bad tendency to crash every now and then.

I want materalism to die.

Was playing TL2 for a bit. Just browsing some sales and keeping an eye out on a title that is still delayed in early access and also no word on the loonix version release promise.

Dwarf Fortress runs great on toasters, as long as you limit your map size and your population.

u wot m8

They always do because lol nogames just buy a real computer xDDDD

(((GNU))) emacs isn't the only version of emacs

You can switch desktop environments later if you end up wishing you picked the other one. Personally, I prefer lubuntu of the two. LXDE looks a little shitty by default but it's nice once you tweak it.

I'm having a stressful life lately, so I just chill out with casual shit like Stellaris, Stardew Valley, Big Farma, Factorio, or Terraria. I'm running Steam in Gentoo.

Mostly pic related.

Just beat it but now I have to do all the B Sides, the final level after beating the game, and apparently there are C Sides?

I had a hard enough time with the game so far but there's a shitton of post-game content.

What's the current state of nVidia drivers on Linux? I'm thinking about switching to Ubuntu 18.04 once it's out. I'm not that much concerned with performance since I mostly just intend to play older games but I'd like to know if there's screen tearing with nVidia GPUs or not.

The drivers are fine from my experience but you will likely need a compositor for screen tearing

...

What distro do you guys use to play games that run on linuxwithout wine?
Also, is using a VM any good? I'm afraid it might add some delay in the very least.

arch though void would be better for me due to my use of a thinkpad x220 which utilizes intel hardware and void is better suited for using intel hardware

I had no problem with most nigbuntu derivatives. Tho I am currently using Manjaro and that seems fine too.

I think I should have specified that I have 16gigs of ram, a ryzen 5 1600 and a gtx 1060 6gb.
Never really used Linux for gaymanaside from toontown rewritten, which runs way better on linux, but I'm still pretty familiar with it. I adapt to distros and their command lines pretty fast, still wouldn't risk saying that I can use arch without much problem, though.

All of them.
t. Windows user

End your miserable existence, lad.

...

The site isn't actually hard to use on mobile. The only things that don't get read on mobile are screen caps of long posts like that. Since you would continually have to re-zoom and adjust looking at the image your brain has to continually readjust where you are looking in the paragraph. If you truly wanted to keep phone posters from reading high level discourse, then type it in a note pad, screen cap it, and then post it as the thread starter.

Yeah, why do you think there is a designated Linux gaming thread, fucktard?
You expect anyone to really not know that?
Make more useful posts.

Same.
t. Linux user with a Windows 7 passthrough VM and a bunch of toasters for older windows versionsand dos

Try running a couple of old and recent Denuvo games on your shit user, for science.

I hear you can get b& if anticheat or DRM software detects the VM.

you can expect denuvo on anything recent and anything not recent runs through wine, so why bother with the VM then

Are you talking about VAC? Nigger do you not know how VAC works? And yes VAC isn't just in Source games

It's not real gaming until you play on God's chosen Operating System, TempleOS

ip command you faggot. Get with the times.

Forks are meaningless. Install vanilla and whatever DE you want to use.

Y'know, you remind me that I have a tiny-ass board that has an olderversion of Tinycore on it. I wonder if I can get a thin-client for cheap and make it run a networked game of doom or something. I know the first gen Apple TV with Linux can run SRB2.

Regular vim is not good enough for ya, eh?

just go kubuntu, all the rest are bloated bs

Mah nigga

i've heard fags like you irl were they say they should be pat just to think

Not paying off enough, evidently. It means parched or dried up.

New stellaris expac and update are out. Codex already has a release.
Any chance for the linux one to happen soon?

Closest you're going to get is Devuan, a systemd-free Debian. Go install it. Ubuntu is debian-based anyhow.

Been playin some Terraria, Factorio, Black Mesa, Dook Nook 3D and various Doom WADs.

Devuan uses old as fuck Debian as a base. Install antiX.

For some reason I had the impression the title screen was mirrored. Proven wrong by quickly booting the game.

I sometimes read on a phone if I'm in bed but posting anything meaningful is plain suffering so I rarely bother using it for that.

You can install sysvinit on Debian. You don't need a fork.
without-systemd.org/wiki/index.php/How_to_remove_systemd_from_a_Debian_jessie/sid_installation#Installing_Sysvinit
Works for Buster and Stretch too I believe

...

Currently nothing, scouring the intershits in search of Stellaris 2.0 for Linux, tho.

btw, are there any good linux-based rpgs I might've missed? The oldschool sort.

O hohoho ho… how mistaken I was.

Sysvinit is shit, though. If your distro isn't using Runit, then it ain't worth installing.

awesomewm

Ever heard of this little thing called piracy?

Getting real sick of your shit

Who needs vidya when you could have FREEDOM?

Some of the Ryzen 3 and 5 series are APUs. Ryzen 5 2400G is currently the highest end APU. It's around 160USD iirc.

okular does the job for me

The SS13 thread is dying so I might as well put it here:
Anyone got SS13 running through wine? Used the winedb guide for setup but byond just fucks off after querying the site or something

Kubuntu and the K desktop environment are easily on the top 5 most bloated linux distros and DEs out there. Past, present and probably future. I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you.

zathura is p epik

Honestly a number of the older Windows games will run on WINE while crashing on Windows.

KDE uses less ram than mate, have fun using DWM I guess

Trying to play some La-Mulana in Wine lately. Real upset that some bosses have huge slowdown for some reason. How fucking hard is it to run a simple game like this properly?

I am going easy on it or I may lose it.

On PC, Cuphead. On consoles, currently playing Nier Automata, and Elite Dangerous to zone out.

...

Openspades nigga

You know you can just remove most "bloat" or keep it from auto starting or some shit that's the point of the being able to configure your system.
As a side note, is anyone here playing with a tiling WM? I use i3 for productivity on some machines but I haven't so far managed to make playing on them work… well aside from dwarffortress maybe

La-Mulana has native linux version.

cat >

Did I say "I'm playing the La-Mulana remake", fuckface? No, I said I'm playing motherfucking La-Mulana, dipshit.

I grabbed a bunch of oldish/indie games I run in WINE off of my Linux toaster for one of my siblings to play on the family Wangblows box and out of 8 of them only 3 worked on Windows.

I'm currently playing Nier Automata on potato settings and arcade game resolution in vanilla wine 3.0. Anything before 3.0 has wrong bloom and 3.2 has a massive performance drop for some reason (did the csmt regkey change?). Otherwise it's modded Oblivion (Nehrim TC) and English patched FFXII IZJS in pcsx2. Also the occasional shmup in MAME but I suck at those.

Compared to when I switched away from W7 about five years ago there's a ton of games working fine these days but for some of the games with a huge performance drops I'm hoping for that wine PBO patch to mature quickly enough to support dx11 games and work on top of vanilla wine.

Does anyone here use linux without actually understanding all the terminal shit and poweruser stuff? People say there are plenty of distro's that work fine for the laymen but I'm unsure.

Imagine fucking up your OS line so bad that loonix plays your games better.

There's no way out of it user, you'll only keep using the graphical interface for so long before something goes wrong and you're forced to diagnose/resolve your problem purely through the terminal.

I mean I've used the terminal to do basic shit like install some programs and I've just copy pasted shit I find in forums to install things like GPU drivers. But I don't particularly understand the majority of the commands I'm inputting.

It's a marketing tie-in with the gorilla channel.

should ban cucks who play video games on linux from this board.
BUT IM SHILL user I SUCK OPEN SORUCE COCK
and thats why youll forever be a shill and with my righteous indignation i will see you burn in the fires of hell while i use propertiary software. AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAhAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHASHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Cool story bro

oh look another paid shill

here, now fuck off back to your cubicle, Ranesh

I think I only ever typed into terminal a few times, I double or triple check from whatever the distro forum is. Occasionally I type in terminal to check something, but in my experience at least it's about as often I go into terminal in windows. Meaning extremely rare.

What the actual fuck

My old laptop with Kubuntu (KDE 4) start up in 20 seconds meanwhile ubuntu with Xfeces or normal ubuntu takes 30-35 seconds. It was 6 years ago.

Yeah, when it comes to old games it's extremely common for them to fail on newer editions of Windows. WINE still runs 'em fine though. This is also why the GOG re-release of Dungeon Keeper is the DOS version only and doesn't have the Windows version. It was easier to DOSBox the DOS version than to make a compatibility patch for the Windows version.

Say, which games were they anyhow?

mousepad

literally minutes in ms paint. I hope you're still on your phone 19 days later.

then do either of the following, and 99% of the cases you'll at least know what you are doing
man command
command -h
command –help

KDE(plasma5) takes a lot more to startup than gnome-shell which in turn takes more time than budgie which takes about the same as xfce. Tested this today

I didn't know I wanted this until I saw.

off yourself please :)

This is not the type of behaviour that would have made Aniki proud.

linux gaming is bliss

Playing Oxygen Not Included in Wine. I wish the game was better optimized, my craptop can barely run it on lowest res.

He was a faggot, of course he wouldn't like little girls.

Dude had a wife and 2 kids.
Also I was talking about the femdom

What's the big deal about femdom? Isn't it just role play and the woman being more in control? I'm pretty sure CBT/Bondage is it's own thing.

install gentoo

What's up with Dies Irae in WINE? Perfect compatibility without winetricks overrides but the keys go haywire, the menu cycles and the text fast-forwards like keys are being held down.

Anyone else running Wine or other audio enabled program as another user? I am having trouble getting audio to work, since ALSA nor Pulse seem to support this super basic feature. I have been searching for hours in order to find a fucking solution, and it seems running Pulseaudio with an option to enable local TCP clients can work, but it seems like a fucking waste. Has anyone, manaved to do it?

Doom 2016 runs faster on Linux than it does on Windows.

/win-tards

...

but why?

Yea, I used to do that, back when I mained FreeBSD. I had to allow the other user to connect to the X session, but I don't remember having any sound issues. FreeBSD uses OSS though.

Nowadays I'm rocking Linux and I simply use firejail when I want to sandbox something.

Just give me a good gayman distro already for my Ryzen 5 1600, 16 gbs of ram and GTX 1060 6GB, with and without wine.
Can't take this W10 crap anymore.

Ok faggot, let me tell you something. 70kg grip is nothing, this is a japan market toy. Men there are equivalent of boys in the western world. Slav here, regular man norm here is around 90kg, have a friend with 130kg, squeezing those cunts like it's nothing. I have 200lbs(import) one next to me right now. To crack walnuts you gotta have over 90kg grip. And it still would require to place the walnut in the palm and squeeze it. Not you usual index - thumb lock fantasy. It takes time and effort for better results.

Anyway, it would take months and probably years of regular exercising and day to day physical labour to get your joints, ligaments and skin into high enough condition to crack walnuts. Muscles aren't everything like anons before said. There's a shortcut to get your skin harder in about a week or two but it's funny. It holds all of the technicals of wood and leather impregnating, only with your own hand skin. Wash your hands in your own piss and leave it there for an hour a day for a week or two, it's tahat easy. Unneeded minerals body throws out contained in piss are excelent for leather hardening. I'm not joking.

gentoo, retard

I don't want (((Windows programs))) running unchecked on my own home directory.

That's weird. In my case, I allow X forwarding with xhost +SI:localuser:wineuser, and then windows are drawed on my display, but sound simply does not work. I added both users to the audio group, and attempted to use both ALSA and PulseAudio (funny, because when I set PA as the audio driver, it says the audio driver is None, but whenever I test aound it logs errors to the console) as Wine audio drivers, but apparently they are attempting to create an audio server when the audio device has already been blocked by my user.

Anyway, I think I will desist. I realized that while some games run on Wine, they run like shit, and in order to make them run properly, I have to compile Mesa from source to enable Gallium Nine because the Debian maintainers ignore any and all wishlist-tier requests and won't fucking add the –enable-nine flag, and also I will have to compile wine-staging and possibly add the Gallium Nine patch myself, and I am too lazy for that. God, I am fucking hating this distro more and more every day; maintainers always go MIA, neglect packages on a regular basis, ignore user feedback and patches, and in order to submit packages yourself you have to join some weird Freemason-like society. Forget about patching other people's obvious known faults in other maintainers' packages , even if they go MIA for years, though. I can't wait to nuke Debian Sid and install some new ShitHub-driven distro, like NixOS or Void Linux, where they have all sorts of niche packages for autists like ourselves and anybody can submit patches.

Running on a sandy Bridge laptop with XUbuntu.

Is Dragon's Crown running 1080p@60fps?

Please tell me your system stats.
What distro are you using?

Disgaea and Dragon's Crown are my cup of tea.

Didn't check on RPCS3 for a while, might have to install it again.

Attached: Party Time.jpg (343x424, 23.16K)

The most reliable source of information concerning RPCS3 emulation is RPCS3's own website :

rpcs3.net/compatibility

Playable, which is the highest rating, means "Games that can be properly played from start to finish".

Currently 27% of games fall under that, including Dragon's Crown.

Next are their forums and github pull requests, to which the compatibility list links respectively, as well as their youtube channel where you's find Dragon's Crown "Playable at Full Speed on i7-5930K" :

youtube.com/watch?v=t2Ud38j67lI

It's to the point where people are now doing longplays on emulator at "60 FPS" :

youtube.com/watch?v=TLY8wrS79gw

Your best bet is Ubuntu (the main testing platform used by developers) and I'm assuming a modern Intel CPU paired with a modern Vulkan-compatible Nvidia GPU.

In this blog post, you'll find that Vulkan has made "major performance improvements" possible (roughly 2x) :

Let us know what your experiences are. Don't forget the pizza obviously.

Wow it looks they've come a long way since I last checked.

You fucking retard.

You're welcome!

Yeah, for sure. I was very surprised as well. When I looked into PS3 emulation again after a hiatus, at most I was expecting some proof of concept and maybe some preliminary very choppy gameplay footage.

Meanwhile they're already emulating games like Demon's Souls, a lot of Atlus games, etc.

Support them if you want to see PS3 go forward faster : patreon.com/Nekotekina

Do newer games on linux require steam? If so that seems kind of pointless to trade one spying drm platform (windows) for another.

cuck

What kind of question is that? If they are on steam only and you want to legit have them of course you will need steam.

Attached: 1451780205956.jpg (440x582, 108.85K)

What now?

Well now you have my erection. I akshually own the PS3 disc version and the artbook, but if I can have a playable emu on loonix that is fantastic.

Do you only use your computer to play games? As another user pointed out to you and anyone with any common sense would, is that there's a big difference between installing a closed source, privacy-invading operating system that is literally at the source of everything you do and installing a closed source software contained inside a free operating system.

Steam may be invasive of your privacy (if it is, I don't use it), but it won't generally affect the rest of your activities.

In the case of a user rights-annihilating operating system like Windows, it affects everything that you do. There's no reason to trust your data to a mega-corp.

But, to answer your question specifically :

It depends on the game.

Some games like Pillars of Eternity are available on other platforms like GOG ("DRM-FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.").

All the other games can be run outside of Steam, by buying a Windows copy of the game and installing then running through Wine.

Please report on your progress, that would be very cool.

I pirated Darkest Dungeon to try it.
I loved the narration, atmosphere, stress, quirks and afflictions.
But man do I hate the combat, so annoying how most of it is dragging out trash encounters once the dangerous mobs are killed to top off health and stress.
If there was some sort of resource used for healing skills which could also be used out of combat I would love the game.
Also it's kinda stupid how deaths door makes bleed/blight more dangerous than copious amounts of raw damage because a 1hp heal will completely negate the next attack.

Now that I think about it, if healing skills were removed from darkest dungeon I would probably like it.

Also I had to use wine because the only torrents I could find were windows.

disgaea 2 is on linux btw

I'll place all of my bets on Lutris
Galaxy Support isn't even remotely in GOG's plans

One Unit Whole Blood

Watch a longplay of it on youtube, you'll be experiencing the same thing as if you "played" it.

They are both garbage. Use neither and do what suggested.

How do you firewall the games?

This. Make no compromises. Proprietary software must die.

Personally, I just use firejail. You don't need to firewall jack shit when you run it in a namespace with no network interface.

Or you could more finely isolate the steam client instead of pirating everything because if you want devs to actually give a shit about linux you kinda have to buy some of them.

Linux is nothing more than a kernel.

I tried rewritten, I like the other private servers better tho, especially the one that lets me skip to the third playground

aw dude sweet
I'm gonna have to give this a go. I'm real sick of fucking up my hands from gripping shit too hard and needing leather gloves to do fucking everything.
