I have a few tips about the weapons in this game that are not mentioned on the newbie guide

1. The Mortar's secondary fire is more rapid than the primary, so if you're just spamming and not trying to juggle or finish off a low health target, use that.

2. The Haggar's secondary has a wildly different spread pattern depending on how many rockets you load, and each pattern is useful in a different way. Loading 1 rocket is generally not as good as the rapid primary fire, but it is worth noting that it does 35 damage as opposed to the primary's 25, so if you have a spare moment, loading a secondary shot before locking on again can get you a tiny bit of extra damage. Loading 2 rockets gets you a vertical spread, which is very easy to hit with both if you aim for center of mass; a 70 damage burst is nothing to sneeze at, especially considering how fast you can load 2 rockets. Loading 3 rockets gets a horizontal spread, good for multiple targets and finishing off low health opponents, as well as fast moving targets. Finally, the 4-rocket spread is a triangle shape with an extra shot in the middle. This is actually probably the least useful spread pattern but the damage it deals is crazy high, especially in cramped quarters where the explosions will do extra damage even when the shots don't connect directly. Just be aware that two of the four shots will be angled slightly downwards, and take that into account when predicting splash damage.

3. I highly suggest you bind every weapon to a key or mouse button so they can be swapped to quickly. If you have thumb buttons on your mouse, I highly suggest binding one of them to your blaster so that you can switch to it quickly and without taking your fingers off the movement keys.

4. If you're using the Vortex, swap back to it whenever you have a spare moment. It does not charge while you're not using it, but it does keep its current charge when you switch away from it, so any time you're not in combat, whip it out and let it charge back to full.

Again, really not against shitposting but this is going a little too far for way too long. I'm worried that it'll sound too much like internal drama and that it'll scare anons away.

The xonoticfags asked for this schedule slot so we're just featuring them. They're mostly handling everything. However if you would like to see CS 1.6 or Warsow or Quake, go ahead and make a thread on /radcorp/ about them. CS 1.6 was hosted before as an off-weekend so it could probably be done if we need to fill a sourcegame slot.

As for Quake, there will be alot of back and forth over which Quake to choose but it can be done no problem. In fact, if you read the schedule in the OP you can see that Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is set for March, that game is basically Quake but with Star Trek injected into it.

No one is forcing you to play Xonotic, and to be fair, we did ask anons during gamenights which Arena Shooter would be best to host and play, however no one answered. Our only options were to either let the Xonoticfags take this schedule slot and host Elite Force later or not play any arena shooters at all.

We can't just choose one game because people will complain about the game choice, and when we do choose the game anons want, they'll complain anyway kinda like what is occurring ITT Which is fine, people have their preference like anyone else, but it gets outrageous when it reaches this level.

I understand why you want any of the games you listed, but if absolutely no ones suggests them or provides details on why it would be good to host they'll get lost under a sea of other game suggestions and ideas that we have.

It's the same problem AVP2 had, the only one who could host at the time was the guy who had literally never played it before, which was me again.
That was another regular /radcorp/ host, the one that did most of the source games. I don't think he played much either, but he set up a faster way to add maps so we could put on whatever anons ITT wanted.

I already made my gamenight appearance and left. The first Xonotic gamenight was the first meh gamenight I played, so I wasn't interested in playing this one again. Looking forwards to playing next gamenight though.

It has strategy definitely in map control, but that's hard to manifest when the maps are overcrowded. This time around I config'd the servers to have vote calls for small maps and big maps so the server can better adapt to instances where there's a large and small amount of players.

Gameplay only being aim/reflex is beyond wrong.

personally, my binds are Blaster on M4, Shotgun on 1, Machinegun on 2, Crylink on 3, Mortar on E, Electro on C, Haggar on Z, Vortex on M5, and Devastator on F. Have grappling hook on Q but thus far I haven't seen a server that uses it, so I might put something else there.

Works for me. Only thing I would consider changing is blaster to Q or E, ideally if I had a bind that toggles between blaster and whatever I had out previously.

I have one of those mice with 12 buttons on the side meant for MMOs. The buttons are bound from 1 to = (the same as the number row).
I grouped the weapons based on the type (cell, explosive, other) and ranked them in the group based on their relative strength. I then placed the stronger weapons closer to 1 so they are easier to reach.

That gives me:

2 devastator
3 mortar
4 electro
5 crylink
6 hagar
7 machinegun
8 shotgun
9 blaster
