Remember when games had cool shit like this in them? You would end up in some shitty biker bar and everyone would look like an American? Dyed blue hair bitches who everyone hated but was fucking the gang leader. A gang of wannabe heavies but no one took them seriously? The boss was a bro and was just trying to look after a bunch of idiots to protect his town from a larger evil than his biker gang?
Lets get a thread about 90's experimental vidya styles.
Skitchin Full throttle The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble
Elijah Miller
No, fuck the 90s
Jayden Jackson
That game was 90's as fuck.
NBA Jam, Comix Zone and SiN did pretty well in this regard too. In terms of being extremely stylized in 90's fashion but still being really enjoyable games.
Ryan Cooper
Has anyone else played this?
Joseph Nelson
I mostly find that the music really sets the timeframe of the game more than the art style.
Adrian Long
Oh you mean the MTV-pandering kidz culture horseshit that was almost universally composed of bad games? Yeah, I remember. It sure poured into the market when the CD format opened the floodgates.
Chase Morris
I hate this entire idea of cultural and design changes being generalized towards certain decade. And i especially hate it for the fact that 00's and 10's aren't being remembered for anything.
Joseph Taylor
I remember the 00's as having a very sleek, very rounded style, also everything was in chrome.
Dylan Wilson
Yes, everything was like this video.
Lucas Flores

Ayden Scott
For some reason I always thought that it made plastic look cheaper.

Remember being one of three absolutely batshit insane serial killers breaking out of an max security prison just break in again and kill the warden?
Only 90's kids do:^)
Caleb Morris
This look so much like the ugly garbage SJWs from tumblr produces nowadays. The only difference is back then they were supposed to be made fun of and were known as ugly and grotesque. Nowadays this somehow passes for art and should be praised.
00s and 10s are known as the death of civilization.

Funny how Hoboken in the game was a poor Anytown, USA place while Hoboken today is becoming an upscale expensive neighborhood (for New Jersey).
Daniel Campbell
00's not so much, but this decade has been quite shitty for establishing a lasting image for you to remember in the next decades. In part it is because thanks to the internet and technology, trends come and go crazy fast. 00's were kinda about boy bands, then R&B and flashy nigger music, and also emos made a lasting impression, while numetal kinda floundered as well. It was also the start of I'M SUCH A GEEK/NERD/OTAKU XD but it has been more prevalent in this decade. If anything, this decade will be remembered more because muh brave wymyn, muh wise minorities ``rising`` against whitey. But for a general way of attire or music that lasted most of the decade, you're shit out of luck. I shudder to think if 10-20 years from now people reminisce this decade and glorify nerdy attires, problem glasses and problem beards, as well as dyed hair with shaved side of the head.
Chase Thompson
yeah, glad its over
Brayden Thomas
It's been so bad ever since we stopped measuring console generations in bits.
Colton Campbell
I never used to find edits like this funny. Now I enjoy making them.
Connor Rivera
Hell yeah
Austin Cooper
I still remember when blotting out letters to make new words was becoming new. I think those were the best edits, because they didn't feel as forced. There was some good unintentional comedy there, and it started with Ur Mr Gay.
Zachary Wood
That fucking bunny baby faggot with his shitty laser, god I hated that shit
Jason Morales
00s was the decade of 3d graphics coming into its own and it was also the decade of "the future is now" thanks to the millennium hype. It was also the dawn of muh physics and it was the decade of games as an industry really taking off, which seemed like a good thing until 2005. Communication between fellow players was enhanced, even before Steam; XFire and Tribes 2's amazing in-client features come to mind.
Elijah Lopez
That reminds me an awful lot of Tank Girl.

With the 2000's it's still too recent for there to be an image for the decade to be remembered by, people still have fairly fresh memories of what happened and haven't simplified it in their minds to a genre or aesthetic. I have seen the first stages, I now associate the decade with an increase in edgy rock music and that sickly green color grading in everything, and a very industrial aesthetic for a lot of ads with tons of concrete warehouses. Also early web animation like Newgrounds, and an overall DIY kind of vibe going on in the internet. Like said, everything was rounded, unlike the 2010's which will probably be remembered for hard edges with clean whites and blacks. "Scene" culture was big, and the style was mostly dark zip-up hoodies and mid-length hair, as opposed to the 2010's flannel, thick-rimmed glasses, beards, and beanies. There's a specific aesthetic there, but you're submerged in it right now and haven't distilled it to its base elements yet.
Joshua Campbell
those are some reasonable prices you have there
Owen Edwards
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAD RAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH My eternal nigger. You started too strong. I liked how Normality was given away for free on (((Stream))) recently. What an interesting take on an adventure game. Never touched it before, was amazed when I realized it was 3D.
Kevin Morales

Luke Phillips
At this rate the '10s will probably be remembered as the social-justice tablet-monkey generation.
Justin Flores
Who cares, stop mikeposting you faggot with faggot taste.
Easton Kelly
Exhibit A.
Jaxson Thompson
Alright, no more Mike posting. Is Mokou posting Ok?
David Sanders
is that Mike "hillary is going to kill me might as well eat blue pills" Cernobitch?
Ryder Collins
What shithole is this from, because its sure as shit not america.
Luis Peterson
She's cute and makes me forget about my sadness for a bit of time.
Carson Lewis
The lesson is always the same. Consoles do not matter. Who has the exclusives?
Isaiah Myers
Have there been any modern games which try to recapture this? You would think in today's streamer-bait industry where being quirky can actually help games sell we would see more of a resurgence in this.
Owen Jones
learn to draw toohuws and never be sad again
Cameron Cruz
Probably Australia.
Chase Sanders
Actually I think it was America. $60 for a SNES name normal in the 90's.
Adrian Murphy
Maybe, but 800 bucks sure as fuck isn't an American price for a Saturn. SNES cartridges costing 60 bucks would make more sense in Australia since the Saturn is new in this page which means that SNES has been out for a while and $60 AUD is much cheaper than the same price in American dollars.

Ayden Cruz
I love those FMV cutscenes from Road Rash. You can tell the people involved both in production and acting/stunts were having an absolute blast filming, and that fun and excitement compliments the fun of the game itself.
Fuck man, I miss when games were supposed to be fun.
Brody Ross
Saturn MSRP when it was released was 400$ so probably, AUD exchange rate to usd was about .60 on the dollar back then
Jaxon Flores

Jose Gonzalez
The ISO Zone is clean, friend.
I know, I know, those days were warm and sunny. Movies were cool, so awesome, fun, and funny. Games were great, both dark, and light. In the nineties, it was still okay to be white.
Man, I'd have jumped in front of a truck if I'd paid $200 for a NetLink. That said, I should probably buy one for the fuck of it, since I have an Xband modem for SNES.
Blake Carter
I'm glad that you can get an entire series of games on a single disc for 1/3rd the price of a new game.
Josiah Cooper
is that going to be on the new album?
Jeremiah Cook
These were fire sale prices. Good God I wish I had grabbed a Saturn at $200.
Logan Gonzalez
(half-heiled) I have a compulsion to rhyme, and a hatred of the left. Of happiness, my existence is bereft.
It was better still to grab them from thrift stores and classic game shops for $40 or so, in the early 2000s. I've got to keep an eye out for a Rhea board, as I really don't want to wear out either of my Saturns' lasers. They're not the same model, so I can't just swap them.
I've been enjoying some of the musical fads of the 2010's. The retro synth stuff is decade defining, troubled longing for a better time sort of stuff.
Nathan Anderson
If you like loud music with very little variation, these are indeed the golden years. :^)
Andrew Campbell
was the sega saturn any good? I never had one
Ethan Morales
I think that stuff is cringy as hell. it reeks of "le wrong generation XD" kind of shit.
What, you don't like meme music made by 30 different neckbeards who all repeatedly use A and D# in repetition using the exact same soundfont? For shame!
The Saturn was pretty fun. I never owned one either, but I used to rent one from Blockbuster every month or two.
Hunter Mitchell
The boxes said Mega Drive so it could have been anywhere but the US. My bet is on Australia.
Matthew Harris
Styles like this are fucking retarded and look like shit. Thought so when I was a kid and have continued to think that way well into my 20's. I thought this ugly dumb shit was over with but then faggots borrowed from this aesthetic the last few years.
Brayden Clark
...
Nathan Cook
You gotta be some kind of kike. They love to worship ugly things.
Jaxson Jackson
its kinda cringe that the cuckchan (((aut-rite))) unnironically adopted slowed down nigger music.
what Saturn games are really worth wild if you already have MAME and a PS1 emulator? I honestly never found myself motivated to install SSF or Yabause just for Nights into Dreams.
Parker Smith
If I'm going to be honest, not really anything. All of the good games on the Saturn are also available on the PS1, with the exclusion of (obviously) Sega titles. Which basically boils down to…Panzer Dragoon and Virtua Fighter I guess.
Caleb Rodriguez
I bet you think that surrealism is degenerate too.
Colton White
All I can think of is that plane bedecked in swastikas. That's what the 20's needs to be, and I need to make enough money to make it happen. Swastikas on everything.
Dylan Ortiz
While not the most degenerate form of art. Its rather trashy like a velvet painting. In context of the standards the preceded the genre it without a doubt lowered the standards.
Jonathan Rivera
...
Jackson Wilson
I liked Magic Knights Rayearth.
It's not Kodama's best work, and it looks like it tries to put on the disguise of an RPG, but really it's just a standard action/adventure game in the vein of classic LoZ.
It's not going to blow your mind by any means, but it's alright, looks good, and it's comfy.
Juan Foster
i tried to find the edits i saved the day it was discovered the stars spelled that out but all i could find was this instead
Luke Jones
that game is pure bliss.
Jaxon Hill
vapor wave is just chill wave without documentation and proper sample clearing
Juan Moore
Every time I try and get into newsgroups, I'm hit with a firehose of fucking insanity.
Also, I wish more games had music like this.
Ryder Anderson
The 00s will be known as the torture porn era where everything was Linkin Park and SAW wannabes.
Your bigger complaint should be that early gritty 80s is completely forgotten. People only remember the late 80s into early 90s neon.
Matthew Perry
yes
Owen Anderson
Fuck you too. The 80s, 90s and early 00s were the best years of vidya.
