Wurm Unlimited

I've heard talk of potential server hosting, are these rumours true? It's been a few months since Brohan and many are hungry for more Wurm

let it die, also check 'em

I wouldn't mind another Holla Forumsillage, so long as the piratefags can join again. Comfy times were had.

Skoot server, or whatever it was called, was pretty comfy. I run my own sever for 3-4 friends to work together when we feel like it. Depreciation of a village after a 6 month hiatus kinda sucks.

skill curve and being too easy killed the last server.
1x/1x is the only way.

Let it die or play on a community server with normal people. Playing with Holla Forumsirgins exclusively is always unfun unless someone else is there, like on the Russian's server.

What happened to the last serb anyway?

People got bored and quit. The game never hit the peak it had when we were on the Russian's cracked server.

8ch got bored of epic, started leaving out of boredom, 4ch got a bunch of real world problems to deal with all of a sudden as well as cant recruit as well as 8ch so their pop died as well. lots of no fighting made for a peacful world but uninteresting. 4ch left their gates unlocked which meant 8ch could just stroll in and kill them uninhibited.
also no one with any experience from 4ch meant they were stumbling around playing catch up the whole time

We (8 or 9 of us) still want to play again.
1x rates

Why 1x if you don't mind me asking. Don't serbs usually do about 4x?

A lot of the people who'd be interested in playing again enjoy playing and living in a persistent world 1x encourages that.

The other side of the coin is there are a lot of autistic veterans when it comes to wurm pvp and fast rates leads to high speed gearing up and skirmishes. So slower rates balances the knowledge gap in a lot of ways. I.E it may take a new player 10 days to find out he should be training archery and by then everyone who knew it mattered is shooting 70ql bows.

But then again, even 1x experience wont solve WU's problem of having a 100% chance of gaining experience for every action. That alone gives WU skill gain an exponential increase over WO

archery truely is bad for the game. promotes passive play which is uninteresting to fight both as and against

Its pretty much a given that you'll have to be editing data in java to run a wurm server. Because its a piece of hot garbage to get rolling, if you can find a competent java coder things such as altering skill chance can happen.

Chivalry is what we need between factions, not just blind hate and murder lust.

I liked the the PvP being so rare, it's more fun to see what we can build than raid others.
Does anyone have the caps from the dragon mine? I can't find mine.

RIP Cuckbrah, you were too suspicious for this world

its good for the soul.

Thing is, there's literally no server that isn't G-rated. Most of them are German or Scandi. No amount of bully, often even no foul language is permitted. Any banter would get you banned.
The only way to play vs normalfags would be to cultivate your own server full of them with uncucked rules before opening the floodgates for anons, and it seems not even Holla Forumsurm has that level of autism.

The only option is 8ch's own server 1x rates no epic curve pvp on and chivalrous squabbles over resources or champion duels between kingdoms in exchange for gold. Bounty mod would need to be running along with upkeep for towns.

Have you ever actually played at 1x rates? Servers Holla Forums's played on have been 16x or faster.
My friend who used to play WO described it as a digital retirement home. It's so grindy and monotonous that old people would just sink the rest of their lives into it and it wasn't uncommon to hear a player had died IRL.

Is it time lads?
Is it time for the Brocelona to be reborn?

pls say yes I'm bored of my current games ;_;

Its so fucking bad, I jumped on Golden Valley(rest in fucking peace) to explore it the other month to see the years of abandonment and a basic mining action at 20 skill with a 23 QL pickaxe took 30 seconds. Add that a mine tile needs 50 actions in WO compared to the usual 20-25 on WU serbs. And its not even a matter of it being 20 skill as you start hitting .00X gains before you even hit 20 skill, which means you are stuck in 20-40 ql shitsville for months.

Shit man I just want to no cheats autism build on a server with people that doesn't have some dude bitching about their wife's son in global chat.

As someone who's been playing wurm for years, we should do x1 gains and x2 timers

I'll join only if we reach an agreement on what type of wall we're gonna have BEFORE having user's slave away terraforming it

someone get a server up. i can do java if necessary.

BIG
BEAUTIFUL
GOLDEN
WALL

Anyone got that webm of anons pushing the tri-god statue into the water and breaking the game?

Don't make me want to play this now too
how many threads do you think it will take until a serverfag arises

"Wurm Unlimited /comfy/"
Hopefully soon.

Where did you go lads?
I miss you ;_;7

Only had the pleasure of being part of the last settlement, but it sinked its claws on me like crack, need more, want more.If ya were on the last settlement, then i miss ya too

does anyone have the server program/files?

It's way too soon for a revival
Let it rest till summer, then maybe

This. As fun as Wurm is, people get burned out. Give them time to get back some strength, and they'll be back when summer rolls around. Right now ain't the time to try again.

people say this everytime the time comes around again.

I don't know about you, but I never get burned out. The only reason why I leave is because there's a lot of drama and people start dropping from the server like flies so there's no one to play with.

I'm ready if you lot are tbh.

TOO. FUCKING. SOON.

Don't fucking repeat the same mistake as last time where the community was split in two because half of us were still suffering from wurmout and didn't play. If we were to host now, that half would play and most of the others would not. Don't fucking do it. Wait for summer.

NEW SERVER NOW
someone post server files
how beastly of a vps does this require.

they can join later, surely this server will be up for years this time.

IF you host a new server for the love of all that is holy BUILD A PROPER FUCKING MAP FIRST. Don't even attempt to be the host if you're not experienced, remember what happened with Bowman. Also: PROPER FUCKING SETTINGS. Ebin curve either on or off AND IT STAYS THAT WAY. Most people would prefer off. Also: Get the goddamn dirt layer right. Since we need to fill the server somehow we should repeat what we did last time and do 8ch VS 4ch again and NAME THE FACTIONS ACCORDINGLY. Also also: Ingame economy. Get it right. Build a proper trader. Make sure there isn't a loophole in the prices.

Plan this properly and take your time getting the server right. Every goddamn time we have to deal with some other bullshit problem which could easily be prevented. There are lots of things that can be fucked up here and I don't even know them all.

Most of this, honestly. Also, no dirtwalling/ESP shit. We need a good, honest Wurm serb with a host who isn't shite.

Oh, and the biggest mistake that must be avoided AT ALL COSTS is joining a serb with an admin that isn't one of us. I'm not going through all this drama with normie-admins again.

apparantly IGG version comes with the server
igg-games.com/wurm-unlimited-free-download.html
2. Extract. 3. Start with file “IGG-Wurm.Unlimited\WurmLauncher\LAUNCHER.exe” 4. Untick “Use dedicated server”, then click “Manager server” button. 5. In “Wurm Unlimited Server”, select “Local Server” tab. 6. Set “Server External IP Address” to 0.0.0.0 7. Set “Server Internal IP Address” to 127.0.0.1 8. Select “Select Game Database” tab (First Tab again), click “Start server” button. 9. In Launcher game, click “LAN” tab, check your server and connect it. 10. Have fun ^^.

All of this please.

People in the share thread have been saying they added coin miners and ads to their games.
Not sure if it's just newer games they add or if it's retroactive with previously uploaded games.

Admins on last serb weren't that bad, they just bullied our mayor whenever he needed assistance, branded most of us persona non grata because 4ch kept bitching at them that we were big meanies, had to use (((steam))) to get in touch with them, botched upkeep implementation, had a map with half a meter of dirt layer and decided to introduce ebin half way into the serbs lifespan using a voting system that was easily exploited. For the life of me i can't understand what you guys have against normalfag admins.

that's going to destroy igg.

i'd run the server if i had the server and the files rofl. i have the knowledge but not the money or the server files for that matter. i imagine that's the case with 90% of people though.

it takes a team of 3 or 4 really.

remove easy mode archer shittery

But we didn't, HotS bitched in-game and in the thread like babies but the only contact we had with the admins was the skill transfer at start, them warning us after a JK got a bannu, and then trying to get vanilla king transfer systems implemented after a fucking leaf with down syndrome won the Emperor lottery. Hostfag even came by the HotS disagreement once everything was over because someone wanted to ask questions and he told us about about how their admins wanted to chimp out on bans constantly then disappear and having to take admining up himself.

Also if anyone does want to host I would recommend talking to the Brohan host, while the dev for the server never made anti-esp like they said they would, they implemented PM/Village chat logging so you can go full glow in the dark CIA nigger.

The admin on the last server we had had accidentally forgot to add clay when he started it up, but had the decency to at least come to each settlement and set it up manually. If I remember right however he had done some stuff that was less than decent later but I stopped playing around that time.

The only good thing the admin on the Broschwitz serb did for us was let us play scavenger hunt with that one fags items because he was sick and tired of him crying about losing items in a tournament that was completely voluntary seriously, who the hell takes their best gear into a match without replacements or at the very least some method to not get completely memed on?

Either way, admin/admits should definitely be one of us, and sure as shit as neutral as possible between players and factions.

Hostfag if your out there masturbating to anime girls take a note here. We know what went wrong with the last villages, so why not learn from past mistakes and do it right this time?

Also, there is also a number of Anons that want to wait until Summer. I say let the idea roll around for a little longer and then do it.

devilish

let it die

I think it should be the opposite. 10x/10x with ebin plus high starting stats and gear and no priest or meditation limits. Small map so we don't have to wait hours in a boat to do pvp. I just want to fight over artifacts and build huge buildings without having to macro all day for a month beforehand.

Well then i was lied to by one of them.My bad for taking him/her at face value.

They didn't exactly bully me, but they had terrible transparency and if I needed some info from them I had to chase them to steam and ask several times. And then there was the whole fuckup on steams side where it PRETENDS that you can PM people you have not added if you encounter them in a steam group, but they never recieve those goddamn messages. So obviously I thought they were ignoring me.

Also it's totally fine to start preparing everything, getting the settings right for the serb, maybe talk to some experienced oldfags on (((disagreement))), hand craft a proper map, think through stuff like action timers and skill gain for each job (there are some brutal inbalances there, unless shit got patched by now), maybe even prepare some extra event (HOTA was fun back in Broschwitz) and so on. There is lots of stuff to do, so just because we gotta wait til summer doesn't mean you shouldn't already look into all this stuff - if one of you actually wants to be the admin and feels confident enough to carry that burden.

As for the skillgain speed, the rate we had on the last serb was totally fine until ebin happened. Don't know what that was though. Except of course for HFC and its brothers since cooking became much, much slower due to how the server handles it now and it can't even be macro'd properly. Mining could also use a boost. Meditation also shouldn't take as long as it did on the last serb and there shouldn't be stupid skillgain limitations for it, the waiting game between the meditation-questions is bad enough.
As for faith: Priest limitations were already reworked on the last serb so that they don't suck quite as hard and I think that was fine. But I could live with there being no limitations, too. Praying should stay the way it is.

I suggest some sort of compromise between the autist grinderfags and autist pvpfags and have skill/action gains 2-3x or some sort of low but not 1x amount.
We need some sort of voting system thats not easily tampered probably impossible.
Otherwise I think if the host is competent and willing, should just make the decision and the rest just go with it.
You can't make the perfect server with the perfect settings that everyone will agree 100% on, there's always going to be someone who complains about something and makes a mountain out of a molehill so to speak.

we compromised like that last time and it was 2 quick. 1x rates 2x timers needs to be non negotiable.

This is endgame shit.
might aswell just have everyone start with max stats, have fun for a couple of days, then watch everyone leave on the 3rd.
Taffer you nigger i see you within 50 tiles of a saddled and shoed horse and i'll drive an axe through your collarbone.

You do realize what your wanting removes any and all obstacles from the game right? You would basically be playing on godmode just to fuck around for maybe a few hours before getting bored with it, much like any game you do this with. The way we had it before ebin was perfect. The whole point of x1 rate is that it's faster than normal but not gotta go fast so the game has a longer lifespan.

Also, what the fuck is the point in specialization of a certain skill when 10 other people can do the same job as you? For instance the last village had a job for everyone. Everyone could focus on a single skill and the rates were just enough so they made reasonable gains (80/90 in a few days) and be satisfied they were now more qualified in that specific skill than most other villagers. ie, fishing, shipmaking, fletching, woodcutting, etc. High gains only equals people training every single skill and then getting bored with the game because of it. This was the EXACT same case as when the ebin came.

Because people don't even wait a month before trying to revive it again. Every time anons tell you fucks to give it a rest, and people burn out more rapidly with each new one. The one user I'm friends with elsewhere decided he was done with Wurm for good after one too many premature servers.

Mining might need a timer change then, at the very least. Looking for minerals when you're doing shit without macros ss long as the action takes on a 1x would be physically painful. I'd like to find iron before the sun grows large enough to swallow Mars, personally

Can we agree the Dig_Dirt_to_Pile mod (think rocks from mining) is amazing? Can we at least agree to that?

We are trying to sort out what should be added/changed now so that later in the future we can set up a nice server rather than just making one out of the blue that hardly works(no clay, etc.)

Not sure about other anons but I'd be fine with it. You're just going to pile the dirt anyway, at least thatll save some trouble for the road makers/diggers

I don't disagree. Skills like mining, meditation, etc. does need some reworking. But as far as skill gains it should remain x1. see

Just give me ground mining actions that aren't RNG shit and works like digging and concrete that doesn't require lye and you can throw whatever other mods on there and I will play. Priests will be a hot topic though as no limits means everyone will be a priest, but limits means autists who have enough time will just make a priest alt and only will be only a slight inconvenience.

I definitely don't see anything wrong with that. A summer server honestly sounds nice, and the sooner we all work this shit out the better. I really do miss hanging out with all of you guys and my brother can't wait to see a new serb either We still get a good laugh when we remember his spear got thrown into a fire to be worked on before the dragon hunt in Broschwitz, only to hear, "Wasn't there a spear in this thing?" and realize, too late, that iron spears are improved like wood, which means they count as wood Good times.

Better to actually have fun for a few weeks than grind for a month before a single person attempts pvp.

In the "I forgot clay guys" serb we had pvp in the first hour. It was quick, we taunted them a bit, then 20 minutes later they were back, with horses, and memed on us.

Thankfully they were bros and gave us our compasses back, so that was nice.

Oh fug, I forgot how much I hate lowering rock layers.

Pretty fucking awesome.
Not ideal, but not a deal-breaker.
Nope.

Will there ever be a game like Wurm that's polished as fuck without sacrificing the underlying gameplay complexity?

Yeah,i can't see how this would go badly at all tbh.

No limits > limits. Alts let you have a priest anyway, removing limits just reduces the needless autism micro of managing multiple characters.

x1 rates will kill the server and make botting mandatory. If you were suggesting x1 rates when everyone was actually playing the game, you'd be raked over the coals.

Not sure where your getting that from. If you played with us on Brohan you'd know that isn't true at all. In fact that's what kept many people playing. Maybe macros, but not to the extent your referring to. People got good gains if they specialized a skill, going from 0 to 50 in an afternoon. Again, it keeps people from training every skill to 100 in less than a few days.

lad, you are confused

Can I play this shit for free

You don't really appreciate Wurm unlimited until you go balls deep into running a village with a community of autist. The combat is unique there's not really any game like it and I appreciate the higher level combat getting enchanted weapons focusing on certain body parts with certain weapons, special attacks at higher combat levels. It's not balanced by any means it's actually really exploitable and can be very unfun in terms of meta. It's living in a community and having some responsibility for its function that makes the game good.

Usually when a serb is up people will have file downloads in the chat itself, the only issue is getting a serb set up, the ratios right, the admins not to biased (when there's multiple groups involved) /retarded and to ensure the map is full of nice little places to settle down.

That being said, you'll probably start seeing one in the summer

What is a serb? Sounds like some good tism though.

inb4 someone spoonfeeds this

based gen Z.

Oh no, not again. But, maybe.I do, though, start to wonder, if this is a way of trying to pinpoint anons, for the jobs I usually do. I don't care about being fingered, some well may.

I'm a little confused about the rates because I don't know which server I played on had which rates, I can only use the servers themself as points of referance. The rates of WRC and Brohan (pre-ebin) felt just right. I wouldn't make em slower or faster.

Yep, I knew it. Wanton profiling. Can not have anything nice.

I JUST WANNA BE A FISHERMAN FOR BROCELONA LIVING IN MY SMALL /comfy/ LAKESIDE CABIN

spooked ya

Exactly, and you can do that on non-imageboard suggest servers. I'm likely around, you'd catch the wind of me, and the others.

Nah, it's my business. Nobody lives in my head, I live at their doorsteps.

Remember when Void stole one of those faggots bodies in the pvp arena and played keep away till the match was over, said fag got the GM to say "hey that cool if you want to keep it, but can you be nice and give it back". Then waited two days and made him go on a scavenger hunt all around the map for every piece of armor only for the last stone coffin containing his equipment said to go buy it here for gold.
Good times. He posted a passing conversation of the people on the neighboring town calling him "bad guy" as he rode past.

No fun unless it's with the lads.

come on buddy just connect to our server I won't record you IP or anything.

It's always best when it is not board-specific. Formless, somewhere out there in space. Again. You have no idea how much information I tossed in the trash, that I should have been collecting. I am my job.

OH that's exactly what I was talking about My brother and me were actually helping Void get the stone for the coffin's.

Oh God, that fucking admin, "hey guys, haha, just give it back, bro code, right haha" meanwhile the fag who got his body stolen was probably flooding a personal chat to the admin with begging and crying to just ban them.

Sitting around with you guys during the election run was the fucking best, just drama everyday.

Hanging with the gents on here is the best.

Remember the passive aggressive notes he left on the road into town.
Oh man, I wish there was another game where we can mess with people that badly

You lot there when we pushed the God statue into the ocean and broke the server?
Funny as fuck.

I remember when he banned me for a week after I killed a bartender.

make bayeux edits

It was sadly before my time. I started up on Broschwitz but the town was already there, so I snagged a plot

I do, we're freaking out that the server crashed then when we found out why we all had a good laugh. Wish I had the webm of the serb ded. We got this video with screen caps of the thread at the end.
Admin ended up locking the statue of gods into place to keep it from moving after.

Best timeline.

I wonder if Nkdragunov ever stopped being a faggot…
Probably not.

Winter Broschwitz was so comfy. Brosmouth had a nice slumtown feel but was impossible to play in due to fps rape.

Wasn't there myself, but I've got these.

Nope he hasn't. Last I saw he was playing planetside 2.

my perfect game would literally be a wurm unlimited done for singleplayer with mm6-8 styled combat and magic system.

...

k

And what caused our last server to crash again? Somebody tried to cast a spell after the update and the server couldn't take it? That was nice. So much fun to spend all the time to terraform and farm for a town only for everyone to leave and the world to end. Great times!

FUCKING NORMANS GET OUT

Last one from here died because an item decided it was enchanted with an enchantment that doesn't exist and while any other game would be able to deal with this problem without any notice, Rolfcode™ ensured that numerous unrelated players were corrupted in the database and the server shitcanned. No way to get official support either because of the forums banning any sort of reference to pirate enabled servers, and it was a good run outside of some populations dropping with MR and some solo JK players disappearing and a shame that very few of the dungeons and other unique content that were made were never found in the end.

The Serverfag who put that together was given a bad hand, he really wanted things to work. I'll give him that. But this fucking game really does go out of its way to make itself as unappealing as possible the more you play it. Rolf is an ass, I don't know what he "works" on, but he needs to get his shit together and fix his baby. One update every twenty years, and for what? New recipes and wider mineshaft doors?

Only way i can see this working out is on a Norman serb - purpose, unity and no inside drama to worry about that would destroy us and the serb unless someone shitter-shatters, like an admin
But to find a pirate friendly serb is nearly impossible.
Seems that DRC aka WRC is gone or they changed their name again.

So long as the gains remain the same as it was on Brohan, a few skills get reworked, more planning for the village in terms of direction and a decently put together map, I'd say the quota is pretty much filled. That and a representative-like admin on whatever server for 8 with the piratefags' return to the table. None of that exclusive (((steam))) discount nonsense I missed by three minutes.

Stone walls and magic not dirt walls and ESP.

I got it full price, kinda regretting it

;_;

five-syllable foreign words aren't the most attractive candidates for casual speech, user

the serbs name is a third shorter then brohausen which would most likely be how we'd refer to it given past settlements,it's just that not every user shares a mother tongue that needs at minimum 14 letters stuck together for it to be considered a "word" therefore shortest name gets used.
You're still a shit cook though.

That's total overkill. 10 letters is enough to be recognized as a word. We got tons of refugees who have to learn our language now, you think we'd be that cruel to them?

And the more you bully my cooking the more olives I'll bake into your cheesecakes.

I know you put nails in those fucking meals but God Damn they sure are tasty

bump

Anyone got a link?
Possibly with the server files

What's this, you want to be the new serverfag?

Probably not since I have no moneys and I'm not very competent at managing things.
But I would like to look into all the different things that can be changed and added to a server in hopes that I could help the next serverfag.
Also if memory serves me right, I could host my own localhost server that is persistant so I could autism in the mean time.

dude just fucking buy Wurm Unlimited
it's less than a dollar on G2A ffs.

Less than a dollarydoo?
I would honestly be willing to buy it for some folk if it meant a new settlement tbh

As long as we work out sever settings and all the little things probably have to wait until summer for everyone to be good to go for it unless you're doing it for a couple of your friends and yourself, in which case do what you want

You don't have to buy it, cracking the client is something we've done every time and still know how to do.

Yeah I know, but if iirc some servers aren't available to pirates.
I could be miss remembering however.

Holla Forums is going to host this time, 4chan tried to host last time but it was bad and got passed off to a third group of handlers which had their own steam group they launched Brohan.

That's the most recent history going back further in time Holla Forums's played on pirated ruskie servers and regular wurm unlimited servers. However the technology to crack our own clients and servers developed in the most recent rounds of servers.

i didn't even know that existed

g2a.com/wurm-unlimited-steam-key-global-i10000006651002

how does steam allow this? they must burn accounts that use this. there's no way they allow 3rd parties to sell keys.

apparently these are $0.75 because they keys were bought with stolen credit cards. at a minimum when the charges get reversed from the credit cards steam will yank the game from your account.

How would steam stop it? They can't tell the difference between keys that have been sold to g2a and keys that people are just holding onto.

humble actually sold them in their 1$ bundle tier some months back so i imagine thats how they scooped a bunch of keys up

But is it still worth that much? And are there people already playing together on a server?

Wurm Unlimited was in a humble bundle recently in the pay what you want tier

the most popular servers are PvE servers. PvP servers are russian and dead at the very bottom so its either join normalfag server and get banned for calling others faggots or wait for a server you know you can "trust"

I remember that fucking skeleton invasion

But why would a knight carry a big fucking executioner tier axe?

To axe you about them digits, goddamn

because it's cool and on unmodded servers is the best aggressive attack weapon, also checked

Wurm PvE seems like it'd be the most frustrating thing to deal with. Who would have the patience to grind away and fight a whole server away from raping you?

If we had someone with a job, maybe we could get our very own legit server.

A couple of the HotS guys when pvp server jumping after Brohan died. Needless to say all them were terrible, either designated pvp areas that no one used or islands for pvp towns that no one actually fought at. The best you can do really is go on PvE servers and fuck with people with shit that doesn't get logged like tunneling into off deed tree farms and chopping everything down.

...

life is so hard.

...

That was a good day

...

There's a 1x rates PvE RP wurm unlimited server if that's what you want.

it's like you hate fun

You lads ready to get your hands dirty?

...

that last pic /comfy/

The waiting is unbearable as it is,i don't know how i'll take 6 months of threads till the serb arrives.

everything literally has to be perfect.

The waiting will bring back almost all of the Wurm players burned out from before, the time will help get the server agreed upon, and plans to get people into their desired field of work again.

Soon, user.

One of the Brohan admins here, I hope you guys had fun last time, I'm sorry things didn't always turn out perfectly either. Ebin was a mistake especially halfway through, but the problem is that some features like Missions break if epib mode isn't enabled.

I haven't heard from our resident codelad in a long time so I dunno how much of this stuff can be modded or fixed or what, but if you can find someone, anyone who knows Java, it's easier to tweak things than you might think.>>14190288

Building up 6 months of anticipation is the only way to get people to want to play. If a server was put up right now people would only play in order to not miss out. We'd get fewer players and people would drop out more quickly while what we really need is a critical mass like in Brosmouth. Fewer players also promotes planfagging. We need to have the city littered with 2 tile cucksheds before planfags can even attempt to build their straight roads or it will just end up looking like Broschwitz.
Plus there might be some new features in 6 months like archaeology or saddlebags.

So how about them server file links?

I've realized the reason why I like Wurm so much is because it really enforces the sense of community. I'm not sure if it was designed with this intent, but the grind forces each player to specialize in only a select few skills, meaning you have to rely on others. I was a carpenter on WRC that specialized in shipbuilding. Just to do my job and survive, I had to get blacksmiths to repair and improve my tools, woodcutters to provide HQ logs, fine carpenters to improve my wagon, tailors to make sails, medics to heal, and cooks to make hot meals. In exchange, I built and maintained ships in the shipyard and, when I wasn't doing that, built houses and storage facilities for other anons. It was like a wonderful machine that would only improve as time went on.

Sure, it's annoying that the grind makes it humanly impossible to diversify, but that sense of dependency on your friends is what makes this games multiplayer unlike anything else I've ever seen. I love you fags, even the Jews like Dragunov, because I've had some of the most authentically heartwarming online experiences thanks to you dudes. I hope we get to play again soon.

Would it make sense for those actually intending to play to lay down their intended jobs? I've got the interest to farm/sew/terraform, would be nice to have other farmers to depend on to help on crops.

Also hoping for sensible wall and road autism. A mix of actual city planning and something organic than one huge cube that will never get filled.

Are you talking shit about Broschwitz's roads?

Broschwitz had a good thing going. Can't remember the name of the road autist we had then, but it's a shame he never saw his vision completed. Some (((people))) can't appreciate aesthetics. Brocelona was looking good up until its abandonment, but it's main road leading up into the mountain got fucked up because of poor planning.

It's me. I'm the road autist we had then.

Neato. Next server, I'll return as your assistant.

Oh God I'm about to start tearing up here, you fuckers actually remembered that. My bro and me left there shortly after we managed to build a tower The fact we got memed on helped. Hope people managed to make some use of it.

I mean I honestly just suggested it so we could get people in and see where people sit. Figured it would be a good way to gauge player interest although people would probably be pretty excited for a summer serb
Personally I wouldn't mind taking up tailoring again, and probably farming cotton to help get a decent supply going maybe help around with some other things

I just want a serb where I can use the new renderer

Two parts meme, one part insufficient interest at this time.

Shid should have taken more pics of my Mines of Broria

are you talking about that sale from months ago or is it on again?
I figured I probably wouldn't play again but now I wish I had the option

...

I will play around summertime, gives plenty time to prepare everything. I am for much slower rates, a well designed map, pvp (but this requires outsiders, or a huge 8ch population that will be 30+ actives for each 2-3 kingdoms).

Map suggestion - make the world have specific regions, northern side always snowy, unique resource advantages for each region, have a mountainous valley chokepoint to trek across the world or to get to the other Kingdoms, this encourages pvp/zone control.

Slow skillgain so we stay. I'm a Broschwitz vet who smithed near the last half, and played plate smith last big pvp server, hohenbrau or whatever, you know me.

Make weekly world events (similar to the dungeons but not limited to) which reward all kingdom players with a weekly advantage/ access to an exclusive resource-rich region.

Also mandatory Kingdom gatherings on the weekend at the local Tavern/Bar. We share our stories of the week, and kick back in a chair drinking the darkest of beers. One for EU nighttime, and one for NA nighttime. Maybe the GM/DM could visit as a traveling merchant and spread some rumors.

I have some experience making this maps, I've toyed around with having tar only spawn in deserts. That would encourage groups to make desert kingdoms to control the precious tar trade or suffer through 1000x coal pits.

It's ideas like this that need to be thrown around and discussed more often.
Seriously were's those server files so we can all look into shit like this.

Libila was here: White Light gods are losers.

That would be fine for tar but clay is necessary for so much that it would need to be spread out everywhere. The other tile types don't really matter at all. Peat and moss are useless and sand tiles can be created anywhere once you get a pile of it from somewhere.

ya I know no clay means no furnace at all. no tar just means no big boats.

based on the size of this thread i think there's sufficient interests.
if there was a server up right now people would be on it.

How do you guys feel about moonmetal ore dropping like gems? It's not like we'd have a ton of high ql moonmetal laying around as the ql would be limited by mining skill and ql of wall mined.

rip crudemens rest you were the best

bretty gud

I'd wait a week or two, to be perfectly honest. For all the collegefags, the semester is just now beginning- beyond that, it'd give time for someone capable time to set shit up.

the issue is that there's nothing to really retain people though like there's interesting to start but none to keep going

I keep seeing "wait until summer", but sure. I'd hope on if there was a server now.

All resources in fair moderation, ya? Don't need to hand ourselves the whole game. As long as resources make sense where they are, or, as suggested, give players something to travel around towards.

The only regret was that the memorial towers were never finished. At least the wall got done.

tbh both of those fuckers just switch to a alt and went to the other place which died well before us

More like a month, but true enough if someone would post the server files

...

...

files from the WurmServerLauncher folder, I'm guessing? I'll make a MEGA if you folks need

I saw these threads all the time but never bothered to peek in. what is this shit abou? do we have a pasta op?

It's a 3d version of terraria/minecraft/runescape with kingdoms and PVP which is pretty rare for the most part, but the bread and butter is the autistic creation. You can level dirt, make bridges, build elaborate homes and shit. Have to mine the iron to make nails to make a table and shit, not just 5 wood makes a table. Likewise you must also fell trees, cut those into planks and then carve some logs into shafts for the legs of that table. There's over a hundred skills. All your relevant skills matter in the creation of an object to determine it's quality, or QL. In short it is autism supreme. The game too autistic for anyone not legitimately fucking autistic.

It is also cozy as fuck.

Medieval townbuilding, Runescape fighting, grinding, and testing the wrath of gods. You can pick the game up for under $1 US or we can all do a cracked server again and hope nothing breaks this time.

I'm not sure exactly what it's called but we can take a look.
Thank you very much for uploading

Chefexcellence here, I have done anything from masonry to smithing to fine carpentry.
Honestly i've lost track of our playthroughs beyond broschwitz and Lake Excellence, but I fondly remember swastika square and that time ten of us or so mounted up in the longboat and murdered the sea serpent.
I cant even remember which bro- is which anymore, perhaps we need a new incarnation of name scheme. Nonetheless its been a great time, I hope everyone is ready for another go, playing the russian server incarnation with 40+ people was amazing (and also ran at 6 FPS because fuck you java.)

it actually sounds cozy. I have never played terraria/minecraft/runescape but this appeals to me.

The autism part is a fact. Especially playing with this crew of kek. But it is super comfy to sit around bullshitting and crafting.

Annoying, trying to organize all these memories in their proper folders. Five different towns up to this point and an endless supply of screencaps that could've been taken on any one of them.

So long as you go into it understanding that grinding is pretty much the central pillar of the game. Rolf wants his users to suffer on the path to comfy and glory.

before you idiots hype up new meat, let me just say that the game is very slow paced and the grinding in it would be some Korean mmos to shame, that being said the main issue is the fact that unless we get a shit ton load of people who we can go against, the game just doesn't have any kinda goal and the autistic crafting side of the game is actually pretty limited.

so while the comf is there, it also goes away pretty soon

I'm uploading wurm unlimited files to my google drive right now from the latest update (which includes the server files)

you'll need forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/133610-map-generator-28/&page=1

If map generation freezes or takes too long.

Try running the program from the console and giving Java more memory. Java version 8 64-bit is required.

cd directory/to/program

java -Xmx4096m -jar WGenerator.jar

Its lacking in any sort of endgame beyond comf unless we have a proper admin who can spawn in dragons and other fun things, like more skeleton crusades, its quite unfortunate.
I wonder if we could bang our heads together and figure out what exactly we can do to fill the void. I just wish that house decorating could get SWG tier and that you could make some nice custom chef recipes, that would be grand.

while there are alot of mods, all of them are to make the game less grindie trash. tbh how about getting someone to make our own mods?

I think the game is the most fun when you're first starting out. Especially with a new server. Building up everything from nothing is great. But it is less fun for players who are coming into an already well-developed town/economy. Unless admins are doing stuff to keep things challenging and interesting, like other anons mentioned.

I could just use the Steam version, right? It's very cheap, so I got it a while back.

Takes a hell of a long time to hit endgame when the monsters are set insanely high and super violent. That'd be a good time.

We need mods to make the game more grindy.
GIVE ME MORE SHIT TO CRAFT

Yeah the steam version has the server files included, you'll need a russian crack from one of their forums. I don't have any specifics right now but I know I might be able to find it in a bit.

x5 rates x1 timers. Done.

well I know that we don't any one willing to put effort into something that's likely to die, so why don't we write up a list of things we'd like to see and keep track of it till we actually find someone interested in that

You misunderstand. I'm asking for more content.

Can we not implement a mod/feature/whatever it was that keeps crops from rotting? For some reason that was shoved onto the Broregon server near the very end. Killing a whole reason some people play for is a shitty thing to do.

1) Economy that rewards being a rich filthy goyim, like the admin having special traders sell good shit for high amounts of money.

2) an ongoing war with repercussions, i would approve of a system similar to a pen and paper RPG where everyone is playing in their own factions and the Admin/DM starts shitting on players with periodical invasions and general bullshitery that keeps the game interesting but balanced.

Thats the first two i can think off the top of my head

The rates that we have should reflect our town population. Assuming we have 20 townsmen, I think we should go with the WRC rates, which are x3 rates, x5 time, and whatever the sleep bonus was.

That's easily doable.

files link.

drive.google.com/file/d/1YOo4Dkr_ZMjVBaM932EymBUdLuCUjUxf/view?usp=sharing

Can the server set starting stats? I think it would be nice to start out with 10 or 20 extra mind logic. It's just annoying not being able to queue a reasonable number of actions. Also we should start with enough strength to load crates.

yes

Do we really need free gibs? That seems like the start of a slippery slope.

you will quickly burn through some of the beginning goals if you hand them out like that.

At least I hope not, but seriously thank you for uploading

Another thing that I forgot is how to run the economy.
Are we going to go full communism for the screeching leeches or is it possible to make a sort of capitalist system?
Personally I was going to have people give me raw materials to craft whatever they needed.
For instance a bunch of iron and some logs in exchange for weapons/armor/crates/wagons/etc.

It should be enough to just have the grinding slightly lessened.

Well we didn't really had communism, more like favor-ism - i make this shit for you now, for some of your shit i need later or now

but that's the point of the game

Pretty sure that's just bartering.

So anarchy?

Frankly its nice to lessen the grind a bit because lets be real this is already a slog. epic isint needed but a bit of an easing

Yes pretty much, but anarchy under a Gestapo aka the Mayor

You still have plenty of room to grind stats since stats grow pretty slowly. Even once you get 99 in a few skills your stats are still going to be maybe 50. Setting the starting point will get rid of some of the tedium associated with the 3 action queue and the tiny capacity of crateless carts.

How did that work especially when the town(s) got old?
I always went off and hermitfag'd.
I really don't understand how traders work but would it be possible to set a town center trader that bought goods at a set price and would diminish/rise x% when people sold/bought?

it encourages village working together. If you cannot lift crates, maybe a village member can for you. If everyone can lift crates and ride horses from the get go then people are more likely to hermit off away from the towns.

you formed a militia and become killing machines.

Who the fuck is that? I listen to no man, and I build the roads I want. I couldn't imagine taking orders from some keyboard warrior just because he has more e-shekels.

How is it suppose to work in the first place? So you need a certain amount just to properly found a town with guard, and then you need a monthly upkeep, right? Don't merchants fit into that somehow? All I remember is being told at one point that I had to get cash from killing monsters, even though killing anything was on the bottom of my to-do list. Seemed off to me at the time that I should go out of my way to do that when I'm already providing the town with free resources on a daily basis. Or if I could just as easily sell a part of crops to a merchant for money towards upkeep. I never bothered to look into it much myself so I don't know how things work in that regard.

I meant insofar as a little less grinding instead of automatically starting a server with free stats you didn't earn.

I know it might be a little too autistic to sperg out over it, but free stats that nobody worked towards having doesn't sit right.

Surely a town, at the very least, could use a council if not a mayor. We could have referendums if the direction of the town ever needed serious consideration. Either way, it always seemed like military forces were the ones that called the shots. Biggest sword rules all? Isn't that how kingdoms normally function?

The traders fucky, you'd need to make a mod if you want more complex trader than the ingame jews.
Though i have never bothered with them unless it was for Sleeping Powder.

To make a town from 0 is pretty easy if you have enough autists on it, a bit harder if we get no starter tools.

Are you Libertini ?

Well with Borschwitz and Hohenbrohausen we went with "elders" - those who have knowledge and experience in game and/or being a leader.

A council? And what, then we vote and shit? No thanks, that sounds gay to me. Next thing you know some user will be making the rounds collecting taxes and alimony.
In fact, we don't even need houses. We could all just be a roaming pack of nomads paving a warpath in cobblestone to make entry and escape for repeated raids easier. Houses are gay.

Yeah, what about it?

I'd fucking love an actual nomadic way of life if the game actually supported it

All the easier if it's been done before. I know Broschwitz had that fancy hall lads built, across from the portal. Elders, council, mayor, there should be some order.

You will submit to the state, citizen.

We called it brocialism on the server, but yeah, it was rather communist. We didn't use any currency whatsoever except for the upkeep, importing materials, and exporting goods. It was communism with the most ideal circumstances.

Holy fucking shit that sounds amazing.
I never knew how much I wanted this until someone just said it.

We shall call it, the "Bromadic Lifestyle".

Here's my map fundamentals idea I mentioned in

If its just going to be us, make the map scale small so we can increase player density per square kilometer/mile.
Brown color means mountains, green is flatland/valleys, just showing a general idea. Blue is water.

I came here to say that this sounds comfy as fuck fam.

Doing fucking physics and math right now, hoping summer comes around quickly so I can play with you guys.

A third action que wouldn't honestly be bad along with a means to actually move crates out of the way, but I'm neutral to the matter either way. I manually did everything anyway.

There has to be some big cosmic level joke here, I just know it.

...

I always put off building a house for so long that I give up and just make my wagon my house. If you can't store all your shit in there you have hoarding issues. Biggest cons are lack of a bed, and if you die while exploring with it you're fucked.

...

I bet there's a way to prevent deeds/guard houses in certain tile areas. Maybe just make the middle deeded by the GM and all players have rights to digging etc.

EVERY
FUCKING
TIME
DO YOU PEOPLE NOT LEARN FROM THE 50 OTHER SERVERS WE'VE PUT UP?

Here's my shit attempt.
Make the north winter wonderland the rest is fair game.

I'd like some kinda mongolian sled tent which you can have beds and such in as well as travel around

I suppose so

We've decided to play in 6 months. Ignore anyone who says otherwise.

Sounds fun

no

the reason why Mongolian nomads move around so much is because of the giant sink holes popping up randomly alot of the time but their land is vast and empty so it isn't that dangerous to live if you just move every once in awhile with your herd of deers

also this vid

The way I see it we should put most planning into three topics:

Of course they are all interconnected. I like the idea of different biomes on the map having different ressources, we just have to solve the problem of not all ressources being equal. Obviously there has to be clay everywhere. Splitting up tar and peat should work if you put the tar into the desert - it is a little bit more important than peat, but you can't farm crops in the desert. Sand is important too though, which makes me suggest that if we could somehow turn sand into a limited ressource (so that sand tiles can't just easily be created everywhere) this would be pretty balanced. Of course I also strongly suggest putting different kind of trees (especially fruit trees / bushes) in different biomes as well, to further encourage exploration. Just remember to keep everything balanced relative to how important each ressource is. For example: Lemon trees were pretty rare on Brohan, yet you need lemons for so many goddamn cooking recipies. Meanwhile the entire north coast was just overflowing with lingonberry bushes - great for skilling forestry but the berries themself are not very important. Animals are also ressources and without a proper respawn system Hellhorses will become almost extinct just like they did in Brohan. My point is: This kinda stuff has to be thought through, there needs to be a system behind it.

Of course the map has to be balanced PvP-wise, too. If you overdo it with paths and cliffs that have PvP in mind the map will look very unnatural. If it's too open though people on defense are kind of fucked (if the attacks know what they are doing, unlike 4chan on Brohan).

Economy is complicated. I think Brohan actually had it decently balanced, compared to WRCs inflation caused by summer-hats, at least. Sleep powder as a reward for producing expensive goods is always a great motivator and allows you to use the hard work of oldfags - or just players who have been with the server from the start - to boost the skillgain of newfags by investing money / sleep powder into them. It always happens that some people with actually important job have to stop playing for some reasons, after all Wurm is a total NEET-game. A proper economy should allow those peoples skills to be replaced a little easier. Powder actually helped A LOT with this in the past, but other high-end items that could be bought for an appropriate amount of money could also help give your time-investments into the game more depth.

Those balance-related things are delicate by nature and easily fucked up so we gotta do them right. Don't be the bird.

Can't blame you for not reading the thread.
This is not what's happening though, fam.

quite honestly the issue mostly is bridging the skill gap between competing factions

i cant remember what it was but we found an actual societal name that fit aply well with what we were doing, it was some form of autonomous communalism, not socialism

The problem with /vv/urm is it's a niche game to two different groups of anons, one who wants high rates and to shitpost in game with a group like them, and another who want rates reduced to Rolf's Senior Citizen Babysitting Online. Neither of these groups is large enough to sustain a server by themselves and compromise leads to members of both groups deciding to fuck off.

Powder is shit, if you're going to make it easy to get you might as well just up the rates to whatever you desire rather than jump through the needed hoops to ensure you can constantly use sleep powder. Powder given due to server downtime works well though.

shit would be radical as fuck but we cant, if rolf wasnt shit at java we could spend our first week slaving away at carving a massive hole as a community and then carving out layers to make houses, wendigo would have no trouble with roads and "village railing creator" would be a job so nobody accidentally craters themselves.

6 months is too long.
server needs to go up as soon as balance and maps is established.

and also we need a host and the actual server files and client ready

the best that could happen is we have a really high flat map that we level down or the admin map editor creates new holes and fills others every other cycle

Fuck you, I'm not cracking the latest server files any time soon

then half the anons will play on a legit server and be burnt out by the time your pirate server starts up.

Or nobody plays now and nobody gets burnt out.

RIP

Needs more islands. Otherwise, would be fine.

Except for anyone who likes the idea of settling down.

Not so sure about that, but everything else I back.
I will forever be furious that summer-hats can't be worn aesthetically. FUCKING ROLF, HOW DO YOU FUCK UP HATS?

It's like you want a game where the dev isn't a fuckup

holy hell what is this child's autism
Do you realize how long it had been since the last server when Brosmouth happened? Here's a hint, lad, it wouldn't have been a fraction of the success it was if our last server had died two months prior.
I agree with whoever suggested it that six months from now is about the minimum I could see for a lasting serb. Actually let people fucking forget about the game for a while and develop nostalgia.

the success of brosmouth was thanks to having normies to shit on, not just time between servers.

this.

if it's just us it'd die out like the last serv did

yeah there is zero point for anyone not playing for cozy if we aren't shitting on normies. Even on a PvE server we shit on normies just through our massive presence. What they spent years building we surpass in a fortnight, what they do in a day we do twelve times over.

I'm probably going to sound like a fag for saying this, but having 8/v/ as it's own faction with 4/v/ and whatever other normalfags getting brought in doing their own thing away from everyone else would probably work just fine. Just have a thread up when the server starts up saying there's a new wurm serb and give them enough material (the files to download, how to connect, the wiki) and just let them run off and do whatever they want. 4/v/ might try to bring in plebbit or other normal fags, either to boost their numbers or to get someone they should hopefully be able to shit on, which means it'll only be funnier when they try to call on admins for having someone write fags in the dirt next to their village and the admins not caring. Or setting up wars between them while we continue getting to be autistic.

If you think the idea is shit, feel free to bully

to add to this, when I say own faction, I mean as a sub-faction amongst the three factions already in place. So make of that what you will

the best time I had on the last serb was that operation to set up more towers because the hots niggers came over with their herds of bots to make a autism fort and we had to make sure they couldn't just easily push into our land

if you want cuckchan they'd have to have a organized group otherwise we'll just be getting onies and twoies who'll leave as soon as they realize they have to make their own fun

This was attempted last server. 8/v/ steamrolled reddit and halfchan completely and the server eventually died as far as I know.

We need normies to crush, normies that have spent years in their game and on their deeds. Normies that only have Wurm and nothing else. They will fight kicking and screaming fruitlessly against the 8/v/ menace and we will all delight in it.

Considering the cheapness of buying the actual game, why not have a richfag land an official server and then advertise it over in the Wurm forums or whatever?

ponder this: this thread was created by a 4fag from the brohan serb. theyve got a small group of fags ready for when the next serb starts up

Honestly I figured that they would organize themselves, either after realizing there's more than one group in the server, or before they actually start hopping in en masse. This again, implies that they are smart enough to do this.

This was why I figured they would be ready to try again, they might actually try getting more and more people in this time. I also think your idea of normies that have spent years playing would go great with >>14194211's idea of grabbing a richfag and advertising it on Wurm's forums as having real freedom maybe.

This game has probably one of the worst user interfaces I've ever seen, it's unbearable.

Nah, they're not uprooting from their home server they've dumped so much time into. The guys on the WRC server, they stayed and dealt with our shit because they'd already sunk so much time in. Imagine having an ego from your time spent and then having some newbies show up to surpass you in no time. All you have then is your time spent. Imagine making a settlement in mythmoor, following the rules just enough so the admins couldn't ban without it making them look bad and absolutely conquering the "best" wurm unlimited server. Imagine the butthurt and rage.

underage leave

...

That's a point I didn't even consider. To even get a group of people dedicated that much to a brand new server would require an event so catastrophic to border on making most quit the game outright.

Although now I wouldn't mind entertaining the idea of joining a "No Fun Allowed" just so we could cause mass butthurt from just simply outdoing them at every turn. But God knows anons can't stand that sort of admin faggotry for long.

I do still feel like we need to find people willing to (even if they don't realize it) get memed on by our group. At least so the pvp lovers can feel satisfied.

Because 99% of the people here are cheapskates and wont buy it, its pointless even trying.

Really, my dude?

Have faith, Hitler. $1 isn't that big of a hurdle. If we bully the poorfags enough, we might just win them over.

I believe the last time we tried this it worked alright but also made a good statement about the overall state of the websites.

Our own veterans were living lively as usual, 4chan was struggling along but managing to slowly get somewhere and reddit?
Reddit had the equivalent of mud huts compared to both factions as far as i'm aware.

Is WRC still up? anyone who wants to play now we could join that and try to steamroll that server, until the Holla Forums server eventually comes up.

Why am I not even fucking surprised? Did someone not explain that Thatch or stone was a fucking thing? Maybe someone forgot to hand them a wiki page so they could at least learn to do stuff.

Still at least they were trying? Maybe?

sites.google.com/site/digitalrefugeecamp/
I have no idea if the server is still up but that is their site. If they are still up I think they might have made a new map and I'm pretty sure all of our characters are deleted.

Disgusting normies.

Plus the forum is also gone. Looks like it all fell apart after we left.

8/v/ was well off since wurm was extremely familar with the game
4/v/ was a bunch of newbies who had to scramble around and learn how to play competently without knowing how to check their progress
reddit existed?

Jesus. Were we really holding it together?

We were their common enemy. When we left it was just hermits shitposting together. The spainiard running it wasn't getting donations.

No server lasts forever. We won that one. I was happy with it. Considering the absolutely chaotic start we had, filled with betrayal, drama and bullshit, Brohan had a damn good run.

I can already see the badmin drama happening but I agree it would be amazing to fuck the normies on their own turf.

the admin of mythmoor is a gigantic faggot and would make it all the better. Plus they have an open disagreement so we could watch the shit fly.

how are they going to release pirated clients and then put their site on google. i thought they had their own website before.

They did.

Reddit didn't even exist outside of around 3-4 people on MR. Most people that weren't 8/v/ or 4/v/ were coming from other sites as hostfag was spamming every site you could think of including the Pornhub forums with the client and IP. The only known person on HotS that claimed in global to Reddit got called a nigger and disappeared shortly after during week one. Either way playing with and not against normalfags are a mistake as the 4 or so that converted to HotS were the ones that knocked down all the good walls to replace them with shit ones and didn't lock anything they made including the fucking gates. If it comes down to 8/v/ vs 4/v/ again there is going to be no contest again as 8/v/ has more experience, better recruitment, and general time as everyone on the top playtime on Brohan was JK save the HotS priest who came in third place from afk macroing praying/meditation.

People are really grossly overestimating Reddit/Normalfags jumping on a new server even if its a non-pirate one, Wurm is a dying game and anyone who actually plays is settled on their causal baby serbs.

4chan had two factions. One was experienced (MR), one was almost entirely newbies (HOTS). MR died fairly quickly after the first couple of weeks as most of the members got bored and just left before too long. HOTS regularly shit itself with internal conflicts to the point that their king was killing his own people and so on.

There was no "Reddit" faction, there were just random disparate pubs that joined different factions, many of them were invited to MR to try to boost its numbers after it started bleeding oldfag members. They came from literally fucking everywhere, the other admin advertised everywhere from the Wurm forums to porn site comment sections.

In the end it's very difficult to get people to play this game because
1. Most people don't already own it, and if they don't, it doesn't exactly sell itself to them (graphics look dated, Mixed reviews on Steam page).
2. If they do already own it, they either tried it and immediately dropped it, or they're a regular who's already invested into another server. If you're invested in another server you aren't going to leave for another one because that's how Wurm works, it's like a job for autists of that caliber.
3. High bar to entry for normalfags. Most kiddies will drop this game as soon as they see what the UI looks like. They will not be able to handle waiting a few seconds to craft something, they'll be too used to Minecraft or whatever.
4. The game is more fun the more people you have, but every tweak you make inevitably drives some people away. Want a 1x/1x server? Congrats, you just turned off 90% of players from joining your server. But if you DON'T have a 1x/1x server, there will inevitably be some people who think it's too casual and decide not to play. Want PVP? Of course you do, the game is way more fun with it, but the most popular Wurm servers are all PVE, so clearly you won't be converting normies to your server that way.
5. It's very easy to get burned out on this game and because Wurm is a game that requires time investment by multiple people in order to be fun, just one person quitting can kill morale. This is what happened in MR, everyone just started leaving and it died in a couple of days. Obviously this doesn't bode well for a game that takes time to progress in.

If you can solve all these problems, you can have a "successful" server. But I also think you should be realistic and understand that the server is going to inevitably die in a few months for one reason or another, and you should have some sort of goal to achieve by the end of that time. And have as much fun as possible before then.

So for example, maybe have a more focused map with only two factions, and a map made in a similar way to where some essential resource or resources must be fought over. Active admins are a must, HOTA with good rewards and regular monster boss battles will keep the server fun and fresh. However it's also necessary for the admins to keep in mind that there is no anti-snowballing mechanic in Wurm - once one faction starts getting artifacts and high QL gear and starts steamrolling ahead of the other faction, nothing will stop them. So a good "DM" is a must to keep things balanced.

That's the key here, I think a successful Wurm server would look more like a long-term game of DnD played in a sandbox world with building, survival, major events, and war rather than janky Minecraft with scorpions or whatever. It would also have a conclusion. That's my take

this is why we must go to the casual baby serbs to crush them

rofl, you got sauce on that?

There was a playtime ranking? Do you have it, I wanna see where I ranked.

feedback.pornhub.com/forums/184663-pornhub-feedback-and-suggestions/suggestions/20020198-playing-wurm

Hostfag came by the HotS disagreement for some questions about a ago week and gave some statistics like 3-5 players in playtime, Champions and their points when the server died, combat ranking and a few others. I could dig up all he gave out and format it better in a little bit while but someone could probably pester him to give out the actual stats.

link doesn't work.

So what's the archery game like in Wurm? Any room for Ranger/Hunter/Innawoods type play where you can spend half the time fucking off and hunting?

Sneaky bastard, I see what you did there green blood.

Indeed, it will be very comfy the day we build our damn houses together, and sit at our local tavern chugging down something brewed by our kin. This is where the comfy, peace of mind is.

Very good post here, read it everyone. Agreed with all your points. Let's keep the server to ourselves in balanced population with kingdom vs kingdom, in a small map. The DM is important. Whoever made our server (pics related) with the fun Dungeon events needs to make our new server with these things in mind.

archery OP. you can get a longbow and some arrows and tickle any monster from a very safe distance away while they dont react.
in PvP arrows ignore all armor you have equipped so you can surprise the highest ranked PvP person with like 4 other people and kill him before he can react or run away

Any you cunts there when we dug a happy merchant on to the actual map?
Funny as fuck, didn't the admin get piss off at that one though?

No idea why, capped it for you.

That was one guy. I have the webm somwhere. I don't think the admins cared.

I could've sworn the admin got pissed at us for something.
Was it the swastikas?

This is exactly why the factions must be named "Holla Forums", "4chan" and maybe "normans" or "reddit" depending on what we think would work better. If 4chan would not have split themself between MR and HOTS they might have not shit the bed constantly.

Brohan went pretty damn well. Let's learn our lessons from the failed servers but let's also take a look at what Brohan did right and build on that. 8ch VS 4ch worked well enough even with 4ch being split up, just imagine if they didn't split and if the admin wouldn't make bad decicions.

Though all in all, those admins were not so bad. They just kept too much communicative distance between them and the players.

Worst advertisement for a server ever.

Judging by the thread OPs we had we definetly can do better than that.

Messer here did you guys ever find out what was up with that key in the coffin?

Most anticipated game of 2018, to be honest.

servers need to curb town guard abuse. even a well garrisoned militia would have too much trouble fighting 50 guards popping out of a wall all at once

Delayed gratification is a hell of a drug user, don't go too crazy

I didn't do the adventuring because we couldn't find the right dungeon that would fit that key. You had to find the correct dungeon basically. Dungeon being a tunnel in the mountains. It would be rare items and maybe 1 or 2 trolls from what I remember hearing about.

iirc, the admin only removed and told us to stop with the swastikas.

It was for a chest at the volcano to the northeast. I tried to get the key from him but he didn't want to give it up.

This wait bullshit is the let it die guy coming up with a new plan isn't it

Not really, but let it die anyway

I never saw the full extend of the power of guards, I think. But here is how we dealt with them.

IIRC, when we first raided 4chan our plan was to get our best tank (champion, king, damn strong armor, artifact shield etc) to just tank all of them at once. We quickly learned that this idea was fucking terrible and fucked off.

We assumed, because of that, that due to there being pretty much no cost for 50 guards 4chan would be unraidable. Of course counting 50 guards by hands is a bit tough, I have no idea if they really had that many. They were a lot of guards though, that much is certain.

We solved the problem at our final raid by kiting the main force of the guards in a circle while picking the guards out and fighting them one by one. This isn't as easy as it sounds and sometimes it went a bit out of control due to some guards no longer following, respawning or pulling too many at once, but the longer you survive this chaos the fewer guards there are - at the beginning I wasn't sure we'd make it, I barely managed to heal at least two people and one horse literally one second before they would have died, but it's possible, you just need to stick with the game plan. Of course good old archery also helped a lot seeing as it's OP as fuck.

50 guards CAN be fair game, especially if there are no competent players to aid them. But the upkeep costs have to be high enough to justify having them.

My theory is that the "let it die"-guy used to be one of us and now he's just very commited to his job but deep down he feels a little bit of warmth in his heart when he reads that we're still here, not letting it die, and he regrets it a little that he wasn't there for all the serbs he missed.

Waiting for another half of a year is pretty consistant with what most of the people said right after Brohan. I wouldn't want to wait any longer either. But yeah, someone has to set this shit up.

Usually I'm a "if you want it done right do it yourself" kinda guy but I have zero experience with hosting, being an admin and all that stuff. Not to mention that I live in a timezone which isn't really ideal for this job, seeing as the mayority of us are burgers. Plus I'm way too lazy and lack the self-discipline. :^)

maybe it's krieger

I miss all of you niggers.

Taffer you massive fucking kike, I miss you.

Last time on Hohenbrohausen, it was just make shit for free, and you get me shit I need, because it was an arms race against 4cucks, and I'm quite fine by it anyways.

That'd be rad if we can play like fucking Mongols.

Forgot to turn off flags, oops.

if we rolled onto one of those megaservers with the immortal training dummies we could be a band of roving mongols with shit tons of arrows

The 50 guards with no upkeep was pure BS, on the one hand,in the end,we took them down sure.On the other we did it just barely, with the wurm equivalent of the power rangers.
We had a mag priest as the tank, with the artifact shield, really high defensive stats and a champ troll on its leash which was not as helpful as it would've been had it been able to enter HotS deed.
King, champ of mag, with sword of mag, really high strenght on top due to him blacksmithing.
Champ of Vyn,Champ of Fo,an 80 FS lumberjack, and 2 fags with archery and bow in their 70's,also Razgah was there,he helped.Everyone had high QL gear,70FS at least Raz not included :^) and some at least, high QL enchants.Despite all this,i still didn't think we'd make it,it took all that, plus kiting to keep most of the shadow's from overwhelming us,with the tank still having to hold 3 or 4 on him at times.
So yea 50 guards can be doable, but shit needs really high upkeep.

nigger i made 3 months of upkeep just by selling 20 pairs of 60ql cloth gloves at the spawn merchant. if you had a problem with upkeep youre retarded

Nobody has problems making shit to sell to merchants, it's when there's more people around competing to sell their crap to the merchant first that it becomes an issue.

Are you talking about tower guards or spirit templars? Were there 50 of them because there were a bunch of high ql towers close together or because they spawned when you tried to capture the tower?

Don't they have a limit to how much coin they have?
I remember on one server I exhausted all of the spawn traders money buy selling a gorillion clay pots.

Yeah, we had it easy on brohan because it was really only us and cuckchan. On servers with higher populations it's a massive pain in the ass to be able to find a merchant that still has the fund to buy your shit.

Exactly, even with upkeep,it would've been too easy to maintain the shadows/templars,it needs to be higher.

HotS equivalent of spirit templars, the shadows, this was on their settlement deed. They came out when we'd trigger the alarm for it.no idea on how many towers inside though,or if that even matters for settlement guards/templars.

This is true,i'm arguing for higher upkeep, due to it being easier to acquire currency with a lower population.

upkeep would still be easy to get just from higher ghost density to reduce land cost and more people to get bounty money.
the best restriction would be ghost/exponential land area up to a max so that smaller villages can rely on ghosts and bigger villages have to start relying on its players. tower guards are unrestricted since theyre already self regulated by the game

lets say a 50x50 village size should be able to hold 10 ghosts plus however many tower guards they can fit in

upkeep would still be easy to get just from higher ghost density to reduce land cost and more people to get bounty money.
the best restriction would be ghost/exponential land area up to a max so that smaller villages can rely on ghosts and bigger villages have to start relying on its players. tower guards are unrestricted since theyre already self regulated by the game

lets say a 10x10 outpost can hold 5 ghosts and a 50x50 village can hold ~14

Never played on megaservers, though how are you going to sleep on the wilderness?

50 templars are pretty much bullshit unless you have a group of Wurm power rangers, and even so, those fucking shits will respawn real quick.

I am fine with this and would be a much better solution then simply high upkeep, went with that because,in theory, upkeep should be less of a hassle to get right.
Had even one HotS decided to shoot arrows or in any way assist their guards we would definitely not have been able to pull it off.The ability to actually enter and raid another settlement would be nice.I want a raid to fail because we didn't have our shit together/it was well defended by its citizens.not because we don't have an army of 20 or so autists in tip top fighting shape, who'd still be beaten back if even 1 enemy decided to aid it's guards.

How would you measure how effective a settlement is at defense/offense when/if all citizens were on and ready for a fight?
This is the real guard question.
You can't have walls be invincible, land unable to be tunneled under, or gates be unpickable.
But at the same time you can't expect everyone to be on all the time sitting around waiting to be raided.
There was a game that /vg/ got into a few years back called sZone which later became Stalker Online and in those games clans could own bases. Only during a 1(2?) hour window on saturdays could another clan(s) try to take over the owned bases by capturing flags around the base while fighting off the defending clan members. It was a way to ensure clans could have access to a base, not have to worry about some huge offensive while everyone is sleeping, and allowed the defending clan to know exactly when to log on and have some guaranteed pvp fun.

I'd honestly prefer designated siege times

I'd rather login to find my deed a smoldering crater.

It worked but yes it wasn't frequent enough. More than 1 day of the week and more than just 1-2 hours. There is still world pvp everywhere else just town sieges would be kept on this timer. It's not perfect but maybe there is some sort of way to have bases protected from the night raids.

That's another example of a DM doing something within the game. He could set up a once-a-week Kingdom siege.

Or it could be like this: Saturday, a traveling man visits the Jenn-Kellon Kingdom's tavern. He tells a story that the other Kingdom, Mol-Rehan, was holding a prisoner who hails from JK Kingdom literally someone in JK is teleported into a 1 tile prison into MR's town. He goes on explaining why, and that they are going to roast him on a stake by midnight. If JK wants, they will declare a rescue (requiring some sort of siege battle) operation and get the prisoner out.

Just designate a weekly time for happenings.

I wouldn't mind fighting off the occasional monster siege with that as well myself.

pvp can be managed by players, you don't need admins to hold their hands. People can design and build their own shit and create their own alliances to handle things when they themselves are offline. If your suggestion had more to do with mechanics that simply PROMOTED sieging at specific times rather than outright enforcing it, i'd be more inclined to agree with it. For example, during a specified time perhaps remove the respawn mechanic on guards to encourage people to attempt a siege. This way people could actually drain enemy coffers for a change instead of being forced to kite guards around and simple pilfer enemy supplies due to the insurmountable wall that are spirit guard respawn timers.

In-game reasons to raid someone is neat but in that specific situation I'd say let them die. Also forcing someone to be captured is pretty shitty.

To add to my previous response.
Those who liked the system asked many times to allow more than one raid per week.
Those who didn't like it had a very good reason which was, it disallowed clans to basically be sneaky.
In the real world places got raided all the time at the most inconvenient times, like when the army is elsewhere.
There has to be a balance between allowing people to be dickheads but not so much that nobody wants to play after losing 50 hours of work they poured into a game.

you could do it in a none way as well, for example you'll get god bonuses for sieges on certain periods of time and if you're successful in that you gain something you can only get during then

or something like this but less forced tbh

Both great ideas

...

Really you just need one excuse to go battle royal across the server. It will give people a chance to loot and destroy buildings. You can bribe the roaming armies with the stuff you collected over the passing weeks. If we don't like it then 20 different people pull out their axes and mauls and destroy your house and the fence around it.

The fuck are you on about? The time you throw away in wurm translates to skill levels, not whatever crap raiders manage to pick up. Unless they're autistic enough slowly level your buildings you're not going to lose much time at all.
If you want a time where you're encouraged to test out your PvP "skills" wurm already has it, it's called HotA.

Now there's an idea

lliterally The Purge

PvP should be completely voluntary, without DM influence or encouragement. PvE should be the realm of the DM

They are

Yes please

it's like cuckolding but we're all the woman

Stick it in big boy

the safe word is snowflake

fucking lol
this reminds me of todd spam.

server fucking when

server is up now, it's at 107.170.185.23

oh you.

TOO SOON LADOS
Last time we tried this (november?) everyone was burned out from the previous big server and we only had like 5 people, who all got bored after a week and stopped playing.
I'd really like a X1 server because X4 or what ever it was, was way too easy and everybody just did everything and the server hit tool quality cap in a very short period of time and everything just hit the wall.
Also it would need to be PVP or else its no challenge, no set backs, no having to spend time/resources on defenses, and everyone gets bored after a week.

btw, its me, Benis, rustler of jimmies :^)

(checked)
This might fucking kill me.

...

Seeing as I was healing that troll constantly I can tell you he tanked quite well for a good while. But yeah, would have been much better if we could have taken him with us into the deed. Then again without him we might have actually died in the fight against the guards…

On Brohan we had x3 and that felt just right to me - WITHOUT GODDAMN EPIC CURVE, that is. With epic curve something between x1 and x2 would probably work fine. Just don't add it in the middle of the game. Pick one setting in the beginning and stick with it until the server is dead.

And yeah the majority here agrees that we wait until summer and that we want PvP.

Trips of truth. But along with this I want to make a reminder of recurring issues for later threads of discussion.
Shit that needs changing tl;dr
>A proper map is needed including clay
Let me know if there's anything else I missed

friendo have you seen how long cracked servers last

I have confidence we can find one after six months have passed. With the population boost of 8 I'm sure the host would be willing to keep it running for however long we play there.

why wait, please explain this to me, I'm either not seeing something or I'm retarded because there's plenty here willing to play now

...

how many are working now
how many are in college now
how many have children now
how many are literally dead now

All of them will never come back at once. More could be found if we played more often instead of clinging desperately to the old guard.

Or people can simply pay the $1US with the link provided earlier ITT. $1US for a server that won't crash over some weird bug that nobody knows how to fix seems like an acceptable trade off. How much does it cost to get a stable, legit server that a richfag can maintain with minimal effort, that's a question.

Is anyone else using the down time to play anyway? Dicking around on Mythmoor atm.

Slim fuckin' chance, Jack.
That's up for debate, but they can't shitpost from the grave and there are plenty here posting.
Maybe work and college, but even then people still have time to drop by Wurm with the rest of the lads by summer.

We'll see in six months, if there is no cracked server then at least we tried looking for one. People aren't willing to toss even a few dollars to a developer they don't like, or host a server without (((profit))) unless they are dedicated to the tism. So we'll see how that plays out.

HFC also needs adjusting, unless Rolf fixed how the server handles cooking. Right now when you add the ingredients to a pre-heated pan it can take 5 seconds to 1 minute to cook one meal. It's random, sometimes it may even take longer, not sure, it's at the mercy of how the server feels about processing its input. Because of this randomness HFC can't even be macro-skilled and it takes ages to skill since the limiting factor isn't an action timer but menu-managing and randomness. Even if you use multiple pans and ovens it's still terrible.

If anyone remembers the crazy amount of meals I shat out on Broschwitz and was also in Hohenbrohausen he might have noticed how slow cooking has become. I don't know if this was fixed by now but if not HFC really needs a boost.

Pic related is the only frustrated cook I could find in my reaction pics.

The biggest issue is what I like to call "Wurmout", when I look at our (((((disagreement))))) channel I see that a lot of us are still playing vidya and have not been sucked out of all freetime by their cruel worklifes / wifes. The problem is that Wurm is a lot of work and time commitment and after playing it for a couple months you definetly need a looong break. Based on how many people are asking for those 6-months I'd say there are a lot of burnt out people. Plus most of those people are valuable oldfags who really know their shit about this game. Only the most autistic of us have already recovered from their wurmout or never had it in the first place. I salute to those beautiful crazy bastards for their stamina and determination, but I know most of our lads would rather wait until summer.

Old hostfag here, it's more about just finding a serb hoster.
I still have the modified server-side .jar files needed for pirates to join, it's as simple as dragging a file into the directory. I can upload them if needed or modify it again if the (current build) has new .jar files.

Go ahead an upload them if you can. If we have a pirate friendly host then I'm sure people would be more willing to play.
Think you would be able to host the serb yourself?

only old host I want hosting again is the one who made the dungeons and shit

Yeah it definetly has to be pirate friendly.

I wouldn't post the stuff needed for the serb just yet though. I don't want another Bowman to blow his load too early and then we have to clean up the mess like last time.

I don't see the issue with lower rates like 1x or 2x. The shittiest part about it would be certain characteristics like ML and BS being slow to level. Adminfag could just enable cart/wagon loading for everyone from the get-go, though

Had a cow come along and decided to slap someone at the wrong time for the crimes we committed against it's people, somebody would've died and dominoe effect would've definitely ensued. the fact that raid was sucessfull was no more then pure drive for some kind of closure by those present, also HotS leaving the gates of babylon unlocked helped

I get why you'd want this but i'm concerned it would just make the wurm grind too much for some. But i'll agree that at most it needs to be x2 to ensure the autists can't do everything themselves which in turn leads to some feeling they can't contribute anymore because some user that went full on NEET/macro'ed overtook them in their chosen profession. i still remember when a bonafide autist joined us and proceeded to make our 60 skill bower irrelavent in a single day,and how everyone thought he was just straight out lying because what the actual fuck

Hey AfrikanScholar here, I almost never post anymore but this brought all the memories back, nothing beat the feeling of making the boats we raided them with, also I managed to dig up a screenshot from my perspective of the raid

While I think X1 experience gain is probably a good idea, I'd love it if things were a bit faster beyond that. Maybe up the speed modifier so we don't have so much sitting around doing nothing. It's especially miserable when making mortar.

Jesus convinced me to try out the actual wurm online meme for a single day and it was fucking crushingly awful, not to mention his villagemates had a bad case of the autismo planfagging. I hope X1 gains on WU isin't as bad as it sounds.

Best villages are unplanned. At most, you have someone making roads before things get too nuts. Even then, I prefer them to just be highways.

1x XP 2x timers with some modified timers is perfectly reasonable
wurm online has varying gains on crafts and chances of even gaining any xp
meanwhile in WU you just pick the most resource efficient thing and spam thousands of it

here's something worth discussing: everything dropping on death

I'm opposed to death drops mostly because of how much of a pain it is to get tools sometimes.
Especially if you're not set up yet. Which'd be when you die most the time.

Possible fix would be having minecraft tier spawn commands for a timer-based 'kit'.

Bump limit seems to have reached, I'll make an archive for OP to paste in Thread #2.
archive.fo/P4z6B

I'm for it.

More of "muh immersion."
Plus if you're not retarded you shouldn't be dying that much anyway.
Want to go out an hunt? Bring a bro.
One of you die? Bro will pick up your stuff and bring it back to you.

no for fairly /new/ characters but yes for old characters

For fuck sakes lads this new server better not allow sleeping in tents, because it ruined my shekel grabbing plans in the PVE server.
How are you suppose to run an inn if everyone gets a free tent that they can sleep in?

Bitch if you die, you lose yours shit. That means don't bring stuff you dont want to lose, and dont die.

That's not my problem, you cock guzzling faggot.
I wouldn't give a flying fuck if you lost shit, you asscunted abortion of a sewage monkey.
If you read the last line, you'd see that.

My problem is, the game is not set up properly for that kind of system.
The game's not got any method for replacing lost tools when starting out.
If you do not have a bunch of friends who can make tools for you, you're fucked.
My problem is the early game where you've not got a base yet, you've not even necessarily a wagon, and you're out in the middle of a forest full of things that're going to want to murder you.

You want to kill the server by driving away anyone new, that's your call.
I don't really think it's fun to be stuck running around trying to desperately stitch together some rocks in the vain hope that you might be able to put together a barely functional tool.

Which is why we're creating Brosmouthalonawitz together.

if we want more then just our selves we need to consider other groups of people

Fair. Would also help keep a bunch of players, I guess. It's easier to hang around when you've got a lot of mates to play with.

We could always help others, for a price.
If they don't pay up by the deadline then we raid them.

they're not going to ask for help because of something exactly like that

Okay you wretched donkey cunt, then it could be a 12-24 (active) hour protection against losing your shit so newfags don't quit over it.

Feels bad man.

Then that's there fault.

That's workable, sure.
Though, if you ever got completely kicked out of your area, your home burned, your stuff stolen, you're still up shit creek.
You could never really start from scratch.

I'd prefer a simple cooldown "give shitty tools" function.

This isn't necessarily wrong.
Only issue I can see is with massive cunts getting into power.
But the solution to that is to just fuck them over by stealing their shit, and running,

Yeah a newfag starter kit would be good, that contains just the bare minimum of low quality tools.

no what's more likely is no one will say anything and after an hour or so that player will leave

Who, us?

In this day and age when every game has an extensive wiki, those who can't just look something up real quick and instead sit around waiting for a reply, aren't welcome.
Just remake your character, if you have to remake your character too much maybe they're just an idiot.

Yeah just 10ql hatchet, shovel, pick, carving knife, sword+shield would cover bases.
it'd be nice to actually have shit in the 30-70ql range be useful for more than a single week.

I meant individuals, but…
Well…

the day bloody wiki's walkthroughs and guides came about for games like this is the day video games died as a true adventure tbh also people want to get attached to certain things, namely their character tbh sure remaking is alright but tbh it's gay you get that punished because you couldn't do anything due to just starting out

tbh

tbh with me brah

Agreed, but the knowledge is there and access to it is easy and quick.
If someone is new, doesn't know what they are doing, refuse to try to read up on what to do in the beginning, refuse to read the thread which will probably have some tips, decide to wander off and try to kill some elder dragon, try to do some grand project in 10 minutes and then end up getting upset, they are probably those spoiled faggots that plague our society who think screaming at the sky will fix their problems.

How much autism did that take?

a lot

Hear me out faggots: What if we had X1 skill gain but X5-7 action timer? I want us to be able to build aesthetic towns without having to autisticly slave away for weeks just to build 1 building.

The biggest issue was skill gains being too fast and everything hitting quality cap.

that will use so many materials to gain levels you'll be autistically slaving to get wood and stone and shit

Those who know how to build and can build might start making too many buildings and take over too much land.

or you could just modify building timers like people do with meditation and prayer

I was talking about gathering the materials.

Thats if its in PVE scrubcore. In PVP people would be attacking other towns and destroying their shit. If rebuilding doesn't take ages then people would be more inclined to engage in PVP, thus it is more fun.

It's going to be another forest purge

I could see that working, but people still like to be a part of an ever-expanding town and have that feeling of being able to say "I helped build this". You can't get that if the town is rebuilt every week.

Let them, I say. That's what deterioration is for. Besides, a house that isn't used, isn't useful.
Best to give to someone who needs it, at that point

PVP is shit, and I certainly would likely not play.

In the next thread we need to.
1) vote on action timers. (rates will be 1x)

2) At some point people who want to volunteer to run the server will need to organize in another location. To work on actual projects and talk about server specs (wurm bloats like hell as time goes on requiring more and more ram server side).

what is this limp dicked shit, who died and put you in any position of power, homo

Villages should be mostly unplanned (storage and inn should close enough to the center, but thats it), planning the most important roads ahead of time helps a lot though.

A couple starting tools have never hurt so far. We had those on all the servers I was on. Don't give too much though.

Worth a thought, x5 or higher would be overkill though. Remember though: Brohan had x3 for both and we were fine. We could do 2x skillgain 4x action timer or something like that, though. We don't have to keep identical rates between skillgain and action timer.

Another thought: Ebin curve on, but only 1x or 1,5x skillgain+AT. Ebin enables some other stuff like missions from what I've heard and you can cancel out ebins babby mode by keeping the rates low. So long as it's not added right in the middle of the goddamn server lifespan and the rates are low enough ebin isn't even nearly as bad as it was on brohan.

Give me a single good reason why they should be more than 1x? Are you aware that mathematically increasing the rates increases skill rates?
Whats your IGN? Server rates can always start slow and speed up, doing the reverse punishes new people. This is a limp dicked appeal to authority but anyone who matters is thinking 1x rates.

Only thing that's important in that way is the mine. The mine should be in the center, along with anything else. Also; Inns are gay. Anyone who kikes for money to use beds is a jew.

...

What's your IGN?
Why should we care what you want, cunt?

You're literally the only person who want 1x rates.

show limp dick tbh

A problem we had on Brohan is if we wanted to raid it might take faggots like over an hour to get ready which completely killed any momentum
It would be nice to have a centralized area for an armory/port/bang bus area

that's why you gotta give people time, plan the day in advance and allow for build up time by telling people it's at 2 but really it's for 3

Pretty sure last time, everyone just kept their own gear, and got on a bus wherever they were told to meet. But, eh, fair enough. Have a setup common area, but leave everything else unplanned.

revealing that information could lead to serious death by bullying. I've got info that proves my age. Things only the most ancient of wurm settlers would remember. I remember the Zanzibar split.

having a general armoury with lots of weapons means that when someone dies it doesn't take forever to get them rearmed again and back out where they're still needed

What was the multipliers during the Brosmouth era?
I remember that being /comfy/

I don't care what you remember, you knife-eyed kike.
I'm asking why we should listen to what your gay ass wants.
So what if you played the game ages ago? Don't make you any less of a cocksucker.

It was 4x/4x, including characteristics.

That fast really?
Well fuck me sideways.

Because I've seen the servers rise and die hundreds of times and the last server was 3x rates 3x timers. Skilling was brisk but there were no missions from our Gods so Epic curve got turned on after that people were masters of combat in days and there was nothing to do.

Sounds like more of a need for a good GM than anything else.
You want grind, go play a cell phone game.
I'd like to actually do things, as opposed to literally sit on my ass all day.

It's not so much that I want to sit on my ass all day, as I want it to last more then 2 months.

Wurm is clearly not for you lad.

that's really an issue with the game it's self. kinda why I want our own mods

you're nkdragunov

What, so you gotta want unending grind, as opposed to comphy building, in order to play Wurm?
Fuck off. The Brosmuth days were great, and we didn't have some faggoty 1x.

True, but I reckon it was more that our GM wasn't shit. Also let me ask you something.

How did you qualify for Brosmouth?
You had to answer two questions, what were they?

Listen gents, 1x experience is one thing (as deathly monotonous as that may be) but timers for certain skills are a a completely different story. Take for instance what said of cooking. Imagine getting Wurm default exp while playing a crap shoot on multiple oven timers. Mining is also another issue, along with mediation.

Personally I'd be fine with 2x/2x myself, but it's going to be painful trying to train yourself to load crates and the like. I think as long as the GM is active and has good stuff planned (another reason to have a hiatus until summer, so he can build up the map and things in it) the server should last a while, even if it's something as dumb as a wild leopard migration near a settlement.

As for the grind argument, Wurm at it's worst is barely above an idle game with people doing to botting circumvent the grind, and I'd prefer if it was more about shitposting, building and crusading with you fags. Next thread should help solve this shit, but this is just my two cents.

the problem with ebin was effective skills where you could craft 60+ gear at a skill of 30 or so. then there was quicker lower leveling and slower higher leveling (though still faster than the base rate) which made the skill gain an effective 6x at lower level skillgain and 4x at higher level skill gain on a 3x server

I'm not touching a serb with 1x rates, hell 2x might be too low for my tastes. If you faggots want 1x so badly head over to WO.

yeah, fuck playing 1x rates

I'm fine with 2x/2x.
needs a good role playing GM.
the bounty mod and town upkeep.

If we do low rates then we can turn on ebin.
Unless nobody cares about having a purpose to explore or kill champions.

youd need to disable effective skills as well

3x/2x

Low rates = people value what they build and plan ahead of time
High rates = more experimenting and less frustration
The rates argument will and can be discussed up until the server is basically ready to go.

Rates won't change how much or little people value their buildings. At best low rates would just drive away so many people that the ones who don't give a shit about their buildings left with everyone else.

I also forgot to put down that low rates will make people go into specialization rather than everyone can do everything.
Albeit, new players will be discouraged to take up a profession if the town already has a master smith/miner/etc.

If I can put together a large house in an hour with all the furnishings, I'm not going to care if it get destroyed.
If it takes multiple days to build it, then by the end I'm going to feel a lot more satisfied when it's done. It gives players a sense of acomplishment and a general "that's mine and I built it" feeling rather than just another house.
Have you played other games like minecraft, terraria or factorio?
Have you ever stopped at the end of a playthrough and looked at everything that you built?

With 1x rates nobody is going to start building anything in the first place.

How wonderful, it's not like carps and smiths bothered to ensure they could also mine/log the needed quality ores and logs at the higher rates we've had.
Of course I have. My point is making it harder won't make someone value something more than they would have if were easier to complete.
Also I'd like to point out that with shitrates you won't have many players making builds to be proud of as they would lack the carp/mason necessary to build anything larger than a shack.

Fair enough
I'm just trying to think about the end of the server and how to postpone that as much as possible while still being able to do things.
I still disagree with your argument that increased difficulty/time doesn't increase acomplishment value.

My argument is that there are people who take pride in their virtual builds, and those who don't. Making the end result more difficult to complete won't cause the latter group to give any more shits than they otherwise would have.

I would say drop on death assuming it can be enabled and disabled with a quick server downtime can be enabled at a later date once people aren't running around entirely in what they spawned with.

Speaking from experience here, I would HIGHLY advise you don't go with 1x exp rates. The whole point of low-rate servers is that they require a lot more time investment. The problem with that is in WU, as opposed to Wurm Online, you don't know if a server is going to be around in a few months or not. Very few people are actually willing to dump time into a 1x server for this reason, it's just a timesink that rarely amounts to anything. For many people, if they want to play 1x they feel WO is a safer bet and they won't lose their progress.

On Brohan we went with 3x/5x because we found it to be the "sweet spot" after playing quite a bit of Wurm over the years. After introducing the Epic Curve it felt as though it went overboard, because we introduced it in the middle of the game so the game was suddenly much easier for everybody. So personally, if I were to do it again, I'd reduce the XP rate (to account for Epic, which makes earlier XP gains much faster) and slightly reduce the timers and have Epic from the start.

Turning off Epic shouldn't really be an option unless you want other features that come with it such as missions and champions to be broken or disabled. Unless you plan to modify the game yourself there's no way around this.

Also, keep in mind that there are mods which allow you to modify skillgain for individual skills. So if, for example, you feel Carpentry goes too fast but Smithing goes too slow, you can change that. Brohan for example had 10% faster Fighting skill gain to encourage people to get combat-ready more quickly but no one ever noticed.

There are also separate mods that change Meditation and Priesthood if you desire and those influence how quickly you can level them/what priests are allowed to level.

What I'm driving at here is: Don't do 1x, and Wurm is a very moddable game so if you want your ideal experience, you should look into modifying it. If you really intend to wait 6 months before making a serb this is a good chance.

Good point
Wurm just seemed like the game made more for the former group rather than the latter, although(obviously) that can be changed.
A balance between the two groups is needed.
I hate to see those who say "1x or nothing" or "50x or nothing".
>inb4 hurr durr fence shitter
Like I said in my previous post, I'm trying to find ways to postpone the eventual death of the server when everyone is maxed, all the territories have been explored, all the legendary creatures are dead/farmed, pvp is stale, and kingdoms are too big for their own good.

If you don't mind explaining, what's the difference between Epic and the regular WU? I do agree with your point, especially with how quick servers can end up dead or gone, 1x would definitely be too big an issue.
I wouldn't mind epic if it meant more shit to do, but as you said, if it makes xp gains easier at some point we'll have to change server options to compensate for it.

wurmpedia.com/index.php/Epic_server
Scroll down to the chart.
It's basically a different type of experience. The main things are "the curve" and scenarios(+missions).

One thing of note in Epic is that the gods will occasionally send down late-game enemies in packs. Eaglespirits and drakespirits are particularly nasty because they can go through walls and chase you forever. The only quick way to escape from them is to hide underground in a mine because as far as I know they can't go underground. I don't know if a locked mine door is needed to keep them out but better safe than sorry.

Wurm servers die. There's nothing we can do to stop people from becoming sick of throwing away their time watching skills slowly rise, or want to quit but stick around because they feel pressured knowing that their friends need their skills.
At this point I've accepted that Holla Forumsurm is a semi yearly festival for anons to have fun and shitpost with one another. All the servers will start off strong, then slow down as people start quitting, eventually becoming a few people squeezing it for every last drop they can.
There's not much, if anything, we can change to slow down the death of servers.

Isn't it possible to enable ebin, but disable effective skills?

I'm pretty sure anything is possible with this game it's just a matter of understanding java.
Speaking of java, should we try some crossboard recruiting on Holla Forums?
They're a pretty disorganized bunch but hey, so are we.
The game has a linux client as well if irc.

Nah, maybe leave a post in their QTDDTOT once we actually have a server. Making a thread for it would just, rightly, piss them off.
I don't think it plays well with the pirate client, I remember someone having pretty bad issues with their textures on Linux on bowfag's server.

Epic introduces Effective Skill, which increases at a curve in relation to regular skills. Where Regular Skills are x, Effective Skill is y=2x-(x/10)^2 (capped at 100 ofc). This means skillgain before 50 is faster, and the closer you are to 0 the faster it is, but the closer you get to 100 the slower it becomes, and near 100 it's just-fuck-my-shit-up tier slow.

The problem with this though is that you don't need 100 QL gear to stomp everyone else on the server. So in practice what it means is people can level very quickly to 50 then start churning out powerful gear at a rate already faster than normal Wurm. If the Epic Curve could be modified (probably can with enough tweaking) then I would change it to have its "middle" be around level 30, which is the limit for free players in WO, and make everything else after that start to drop off. Combined with increased XP multiplier this should mean new players can get to a baseline effectiveness pretty quickly but specialization is still needed for true mastery of skills. Of course modifying that would hinge on something actually being able to do it, which I don't really know how to do.

We thought it was, but when we attempted this, things didn't turn out so well. There is a boolean (iirc I think it's called isEpic?) which determines if many features work or not, and if memory serves, ticking the "Epic Curve" checkbox in the Server Config GUI is what enables or disables those (not just the curve!). However even with that disabled you can still attempt to use some epic features, but it doesn't really work out. Missions were very broken. Champions seemed to maybe work? But sometimes not.

All in all I think your best bet would be not to screw with it, just enable Epic wholesale and factor that into your XP rate calculus, unless you can get someone who knows what they're doing to modify the game to a reliable working state where the Epic Curve is removed and Epic features function.

By the way, there's also a mod that lets you increase the XP divisor for skills over level 31 (making them harder to level) which would theoretically offset the power of the ebin curve between levels 31-50 but I'm not sure if it actually works.

x2/x2 Seems fair for everyone without ruining what Wurm sets out to accomplish. Faster gains and you can still specialize a few skills without being replaced in responsibilities. I can see why people don't want the x1 because of it's intense grinding needs, but anything like x10 would technically have the same effect since people would again refuse to train due to how easy it is, not how difficult it is.

Epic is a bad idea for many people who want to play this time. I suggest going with the x2/x2 idea since it appeals to all audiences. We're trying to keep the community tightly-knit this time with special jobs for everybody so we can rely on eachother. Ebin just makes it so everyone can do anything. For example, our fishing user who is usually the only one who catches the fish would be replaced by 10+ other people who can do his exact same job. He is now redundant and he feels he is no longer important to the village. The effect goes for every other person who once had a special job. You can see where the drop off of interest to the game comes into play now.

Our Inns don't ask for money. They are basically always the place to get food and a couple beds for newlads which barely ever get used.

Thanks for the explanation, capped your post for future discussion, when it will inevitably pop up again.

2x/2x seemed like one of the better points to start off with, low enough so specialization is still a thing, but high enough to actually ease the grinding by just a bit.

I figured if there was a way to move into epic but keep exp gains from being too crazy 1.1285x/2x? so that jobs and specializing would still be a thing while missions and champions would be enabled for us to fight off would have been a good middle ground, but I guess as long as the GM stays active and does stuff for/with us it should be fine that way too.

Also, if you do 1x rates I promise you this: Cooks are kill. NOONE will want to skill HFC with 1x rates, I was the main cook at Brohan and had several skills higher than cooking because of how painful it was - with 3x rates, mind you. And I was one of the more autistic players, I played A LOT. Baking would replace HFC entirely, probably (because making dough works through an action bar, not an oven).

1x is overkill low. Trust me I got some experience, I recommend something between 2,5x - 3,5x for both rates without ebin, though if you make one higher you can make the other lower I guess. With ebin I'd recommend something between 1x - 2x for both but I never actually played with that.

Remember: Brohan went damn well in comparison and considering the circumstances. And we had 3x rates there. Let's play it save. And IF people were to decide 1x rates are the way to go (bad idea) AT LEAST fix mining, meditation, faith and HFC.

Never change a working system at its core - only improve upon it. Number one priority should be to use settings the mayority is willing to play with. Doesn't matter how hardcore or softcore your server is, if noone is playing on it it's dead.

the number you have there for xp turns out to be roughly 1.7xp rate (1.1285 x (1.1285 x 50%))
or at least this is what id think the calulation would be roughly equivalent to, someone correct me

I honestly wouldn't have a problem with that. Pretty reasonable gains and the timer isn't "just kill me" slow. I think it'd also fix the cooking problem along with the other skill issues said here

Also that curve means if you were to seek to use ebin instead of rates, you can treat ebin as a 2x multiplier to multiply your existing rates with, roughly, until you hit around 70 skill where it drops off towards 1x and becomes 0 slowly as you crash towards 100. If I don't have some stupid misunderstanding of how math works, that is.

That means if we want 3x rates we can instead take 1,5x rates and slap ebin on that and it will feel like 3x until we hit 70+. You gotta reaaally love your skill to push it past 70 anyway.

I might be wrong though, I didn't calculate or anything, just an educated guess.

I GUESS I'd roll with 1.1285x is a bit too low, even with ebin. 1.25x/2x+ebin I could work with (if HFC & friends get fixed) or I guess 2x/2,5x without ebin. I'd prefer higher rates but thats as low as I'd be willing to go.

Typo. Meant to say I guess I WOULDN'T roll with 1.1285x, but 1.25x would be okay. Guess who had a couple drinks too many. I better go to bed now…

if thats really the case, why no edit it to be
y= 1.3x - (x/10)^2
this way you get effective up to 30 where your normal skill rate would overtake it (so long as effective doesnt completely override normal skill roll)
you can make it y= Zx - (x/10)^2 where Z is where you want effective to cap off

What i'd like the serb to have:
What i think will be a REALLY bad call:
I'm all in favor of having starter tools/newfag kit tools not drop on death, anything more i feel would make death too inconsequential,i'm on the fence leaning towards keeping skill loss on death but if it was reduced i wouldn't lose any sleep over it,am against total removal of skill loss on death.
Also to those arguing for higher rates due to grind,it is futile, grind is as much a part of wurm as is it's tileset, you can not remove the grind no matter what you try,and upping rates in an attempt to lessen it will only lead to people being able to do everything themselves in a short amount of time which utterly defeats the purpose of having a Holla Forumsillage.
Wurm is a game that requires grinding, korean devs jack off wishing they could make a game half as grindy as wurm.
If you expect wurm to not be an immense grind, then wurm is not for you.

The number I threw out for EBIN was more a joke than anything else, but truth be told my main goals are these:
1. Make going through a skill rewarding by making it so that it's not TOO easy, but also make it so that our majority of players aren't making it to a retirement home before they can load crates into a wagon they just made.
2. Make it so that people feel their jobs are special so they feel like they matter to the community Because Wurm wouldn't be Wurm if we didn't have our autists working hand in hand, which means making the skills not so easy that Dick Newfag can't walk in and cuck someone out of their job they have been working in since day 1.
3.Make it so that people with the real shitshow of a job (HFCanon looking at you) aren't driven to virtual and then quickly actual suicide from the slow tedium of their skill to train, but still making them feel rewarded for working so hard at it.

That being said I completely agree with everything you've said. Death wise, probably just a babby toolset plus kit tools, but everything else has to be nabbed before your body is gone. Minor skill loss on death is fine with me. If you don't mind me asking before this thread dies on page 13, what's your opinion on xp rates with all this in mind.

Do you want local extinction of trees? Because that's how you get local extinction of trees.

I agree, anything higher than x2/x2 really isn't a good idea. Wurm is in fact a grinding game and if you don't like it then it simply isn't for you. The 1.1285x/2x is probably the most reasonable suggestion still including some minor tweaks to skills such as cooking, mining, and meditation.

I don't see a problem with these goals. Though since ebin is such a double-edged sword it might be best to leave it out all together. However babby tools and minor skill loss on death is pretty acceptable for obvious reasons.

The reason it didn't seem that fast was because we had a ton of anons that played more or less casually. There's still plenty of anons that'll play in a similar way but there's also a higher number of veteran poopsocks because they've had a year or two to gitgud.

Have fun once your only specialized miner/lumberjack/blacksmith/weaponsmith quits. We don't have the population for this shit.
High rates with multiple people working multiple skills is the sweet spot.

May as well agree with the bear while we're at it, anyone against a shit sickle being a mandatory babbytool? May as well let anons get saplings to save Ferngully.

y'ever feel molested as a kid after watching the tim curry oil monster sing and dance?

Until you hit 50 skill. At 50 skill, it takes longer to gain a level than normal xp rates. As you can see in column D, given the formula y=2x-(x/10)^2, for every 1x, y will increase at a rate greater than 1 up until level 51, where it will increase by only .99, then by .97, and so on and the rate will decrease until you reach the level cap of 99, where you will be gaining practically nothing with each level. This is compared to the table at the top representing normal leveling, and column L representing ordinary level progression where 1 level is 1 level, you can't say it's only a half.

That being said, notice that y is greater in the bottom column than in the top. Effective level is always higher than normal level. This is why introducing ebin partway through is a mistake, it gives everyone an instant boost to their capabilities.

So if you were to liken this to exp rates:
For the first 10 levels, you get 1.9x exp. (10 normal levels = 19 effective). The next 10 levels are 1.7x, the next 10 are 1.5x, the next 10 are 1.3x, and the next 10 after that are 1.1x. Everything after 50 then progressively becomes slower than normal - next 10 levels are .9x, next ten are .7x, next ten are .5x, next ten are .3x, and the final stretch from levels 90 to 99 grant you a whopping .1x experience, bringing you from Effective Level 99 to… 99.99. Yeah.

That would be the idea, however that specific formula wouldn't work. It's a parabolic curve with its vertex at 100,100. This allows it to "meet up" with the end result of the linear level progression and thus work out in the end. So if you screw with the formula too much, you can make it so the vertex is in the wrong place, and well, your effective level would actually start going DOWN as your normal level increases. (Here's your reward for grinding, faggot, you've been de-leveled!) I'm sure if I dick around I can find a formula that works, but it will be in vain if no one can put it in the game.

mildly, it's probably one of the best parts about the movie, tbh

t. hasnt played Holla Forumsurm

So I'm going to repost this copypasta. Edited from the last post as a reminder for future Wurm discussion threads so we don't get sidetracked into discussing the same shit we already decided to work on.

So far we have these issues decided:

Am I missing anything this time?

I took over mining once Wend left the last server. With shitrates you won't have people taking over jobs other players have abandoned.

yes the mods people want

the parabola only shows applies to effective skill value based off your normal skill value though, right? isnt epic a flat 2x xp rate regardless?
so lets say at after 30, does your normal skill value take back over from your effective or does the game only take in effective on epic?

again with this dumb shit, is that you actualdog
fuck off with this waiting meme

What mods were suggested? So far it's been dig dirt to pile, bounty, and town upkeep.

If you want to fuck off with the 2 other people that don't want to wait then make the server yourselves. Watch when maybe 4 people max join and leave after a week. Most anons here are burned out and that's something your not getting.

Yes. Effective skill is determined by putting your normal skill value (blue line in the picture) through the function 2x-(x/10)^2 where x is the normal skill value (which is the red parabola in the picture).
Nope. Epic just adds Effective Skill which works on the curve I just mentioned, there's no flat 2x xp rate boost, not sure where you heard that.
Effective Skill is USUALLY the only thing that matters on Epic. I think the only reason Effective Skill even exists rather than just changing players' skills directly when Epic is enabled is because it's a simpler solution from the database end of things and makes it easier to turn on and off.

Anyway, what this means is that your normal skill level USUALLY doesn't really matter. Your effective skill determines what QL tools you can make, QL of meals you cook, and so on. I say "USUALLY" because there are some exceptions. For example you need 30 Masonry (not Effective) to build stone houses, this is the same in Epic, it's 30 normal masonry, not 30 effective masonry. As always, Wurm is arbitrarily designed and poorly documented. There is a list on the wiki but I don't know if it's accurate: wurmonline.com/wiki/index.php?title=The_Curve#Exceptions

But for almost all intents and purposes no, your normal skill never "takes back over", Epic uses effective skill for most everything since it's the game's method of enforcing the level curve.

when I asked only two people answered tbh

You have to remember that the action timer works off the effective skill level, so you're able to grind quicker with faster action timers.

Its fucking cold out, I just want to get comfy and grind with some bros.

If house size follows actual skill there's no way I'm playing without high rates.

Level from cart, bulk storage transfer, and probably most of what WRC had.

Again, most of the population consists mainly of anons who have already played and are completely fried from playing the game so much. Starting now would repeat the same thing people were wanting back in (November?), the population never exceeded 5 and everyone left by the end of the week because nobody wanted to give the other people a break from it. This way everyone can join and the anticipation of a well-discussed server can allow for some really good times ahead.

too much talk and not enough server
where are the server files?
what are the requirements for the VPS?

...

You dense mother fucker.

I didn't say most of them were in this thread, I said most of them are burned out.

it sounds like this needs some testing done to see if whichever higher skill takes priority or if effective takes exclusive priority so we get a guaranteed "looks heres how it works"

how would you know that if you're not hearing from most of them?

so the one's that are in this thread 600 replies deep, are interested in a server. right now.

I'm not, we still need to figure a few things out like mods and have some sort of vote on the changes.
We also don't have anyone saying they are willing to host yet either.
Right this second we don't need a server, but I'm not sure if we need to wait 6 months either.
Time will tell

Because this was already discussed in Brohan

Are you diagnosed retarded?

Yeah, faster action timers means faster xp gain, but it's hard to quantify that since each skill has different timers, some things have cooldowns, some skills like HFC aren't even limited by timers anymore, etc. So you can't just say, for example, 2x xp and 3x timers is the same as 3x xp and 2x timers. If I were you I'd just adjust timers to somewhere that they feel comfy, not so fast that they blink by and basically don't exist, but not so slow that you feel like you're spending most of the game sitting there waiting for stuff to happen.

For me 5x was that number. It's pretty fast but imo, I'd rather have fast timers and slower xp gain than slow timers and faster xp. Even though they're effectively the same thing, slower timers feel worse from a psychological perspective because there's a physical representation of the wait ticking down right there in front of you. At least that's how I personally feel about it, in the end it's down to what you guys decide on.

...

Brohan had the following mods:
Colors text in the combat window among other things to make the combat log better to read
Allows you to level, flatten, dig, etc. while mounted or driving a cart. Also lets you dig/level/dredge into carts, ships, or other vehicles, or into/from crates inside said vehicles. Very convenient. Also lets you set how many KG of clay you get per dig, letting people dig clay more quickly if you want. (Brohan had it set to 20kg, default is 2kg iirc)
Lets you move items from one bulk storage bin (or FSB or whatever) to another, without anything inbetween.
Lets you modify how quickly creatures age. You can also use this to make it so young creatures grow more quickly.
Adds some more creatures like ocelots and pandas.
Lets you disable crops turning into weeds, and also has the option to add a flat bonus to all harvests. Brohan had no weeds and no bonus to harvests.
Adds a post you can hitch animals to, you make it from shafts and nails I think.
Makes a warning pop up when you're about to tell a horse to fuck his sister.
Lets you modify various things related to Meditation. Including automatically succeeding to enter a trance, changing cooldowns, needing to move between meditation spots, path question delay, max meditation level, etc.
Lets you change how fast players and creatures (not counting mounts) can move, as well as players' max weight limit, and encumbrance thresholds. Did you know that players and creatures on Brohan actually moved 10% faster than normal? There's also a feature to hitch animals to boats or something but I never used it.
Adds an option to move something to the center of a tile, this is a mandatory mod if you have autism like me
Makes it so when a healing cover is made, its name includes the potency and then the ingredients
lets you run scripts or something. We used it for server messages I think
Fixes various bugs and things
Lets the server push custom assets (textures really) to the client, this is required for CreatureDemo to work.
Adds various tweaks you can enable, I HIGHLY recommend you get this as it adds an option to make Traders immortal which fixes a bad exploit. It also lets WL and BL priests work together if they want to (cast heals/etc on each other), and you can disable the Fatigue feature.
Adds an admin command for terraforming, if you're going to run the serb and build anything at all you will want this
Lets you tweak skill gain rates individually as well as skill divisors and other things. It's questionable if this mod actually does anything, but in theory it should allow you to make some skills more difficult/easier than others.
Lets you mod what priests are allowed to do. However, you can't duplicate what we did on Brohan where priests could do some things but not others. That was a custom JAR mod. This mod lets you completely remove priest restrictions if you want, or let all priests use all spells, or let priests get infinite faith gains per day, or cast all spells from the same light.
Lets you change what players get as starter gear. Note that any item a player gets that's marked as "starter gear" will stay with them after death, but can't be imped - but you can make it so some (or all? or no?) items the player gets when they start are NOT marked as "starter gear", if you want.
Fixes a bug where the Action Timer multiplier doesn't actually apply to some timers.
Lets you mod upkeep costs, duh
A patch for the creature mod that's supposed to fix the fact that with the creature mod, every baby horse is white, but it doesn't actually work. I think the mod creator is just racist

Personally I wouldn't bother including the creature mod again, seeing newfags die to ravenous Pandas they think are Cows because they didn't get the client mod is fun and all, but it's pretty janky and also conflicts with bountymod (bounty mod doesn't understand what the fuck an ocelot or a panda is)

Do you have the playtime rankings for Brohan? I want to see where I ranked on the autism table.

Saved the list, thanks

So far we have these issues decided:

Am I missing anything this time?

disable archery

How about actually contributing to the discussion rather than be a little asinine faggot wanting everything to be his way?

Again, summer is good for a multitude of reasons
>6 months means plenty of time for a proper custom map clay and all to be implemented

versus
>We get to play now I have homework and classes so it's a negative for me, xp rates are whatever the hell the admin says, same goes for ebin

see above, "any map" has probably already been compromised, so keep that in mind. The reaon we discussed all this shit was so we could ensure everyone would be as content as possible enjoy no cooks at a 1x/1x rate.

go stare at geese and read tea leaves you pecker licking faggot, when a server shows up we're playing, if you want to sit around with your dick in your hand that's fine by me

Did Genghis Khan's friends not play nice last time?

Here. Only conclusion I can draw from this is that Yore is actually a collective of 3-4 Venezeulan children being paid to grind and working in shifts.

You know the map is one of, if not the, most important things we should hash out. How about instead of bitching about what rates we want we figure out which settings we want for the map then everyone who cares can generate map(s). That way we have several to choose from.
So far I think we're all agreed that we need a thick dirt layer 40-50? What about height, size, and shit like moonmetal veins?Last time I played around with moonmetal veins they only lasted ~150 hits, but this was in 2016 and might've been fixed.

I want the mod that lets for hitch everything. I think it's called either hitch limits or hitch anything. It'd be fun to have wagons pulled by cats or turtles or some shit.

o.k so, who wants to make the map?
who wants to host the server?
who wants to mods are shit?
who wants to gm with the admin and mods?

Include following link:
g2a.com/wurm-unlimited-steam-key-global-i10000006651002
Game for $1US. So cheap there's no excuse to need a cracked.

If someone is deciding on making a map, try to make a map that we can actually look at in detail not some fucking 400x400 low resolution shit.

Added, though some talk of a pirate server might make pirating it a possibility since someone has the pirated serb files.

Has anyone used this yet?
I don't feel comfortable putting info down on some very obvious chinese resale site.

All well and good so long as it doesn't crash over a non-existant spell again.

I did, my bank account hasn't been haxord yet.

I once bought wow-gold from it I believe

it's fine. It pisses off jews because they lose money over people selling sale price keys. double win.

I've used g2a before, it's a market that resells keys, so it depends on the seller

Height maps are too big to be posted here, we'd have to upload them somewhere else and drop links. Topo maps are small enough though. I'm not touching the generator until we've figured out how we want the map though.

hey everybody

...

I fancy:

2 with bigger lakes in the center and rivers going though, stick a mountain in for good measure and we're golden baby yeah

This fucking >(1) OP
Look at what you've done

So we're agreed on this?

I made the map for Brohan and have fucked around in WGenerator (wurm map maker) a lot. My best advice would be:
Dirt Per Tile - Do not set this too high, or players will have to dig through a retarded amount of dirt to start a mine. They will have to contend with 70-dirt slopes to reach rock, even if you make the dirt per tile around 40. We've tried this before, trust me. Do NOT set it too low though, or the entire map will be bumpy as fuck and the server will be basically unplayable (we've also played on a map like this before, it lasted about a week). iirc Brohan had a dirt per tile of 20, which ended up being perfect in some places but too low to the rock in others. Erosion has an effect on this as well, which is another tab in the program. All I can say here is start around 25 and tweak as you go.

You will NOT get a perfect map the first time around, I can guarantee it, so prepare to make a whole map, then go in-game to look at how it came out, then try all over again. Be sure to write down your settings.

Height - Brohan's max height was 4096. Ultimately this doesn't matter that much because the max height is just a cap, the heightmap is what determines how tall the terrain is. If you ever climbed the huge mountains in Brohan, where the dragons were, did you notice how the tops of the mountains were flat? That's because that was 4096 height, the cutoff. It was accidental that they ended up as plateaus but I kept it because I felt it would be fairer to fight/run away from a dragon on a somewhat flat area than a sheer cliff.

Size - Brohan was 2048x2048. This was plenty huge and even with three factions most of the map was untouched wilderness. Decide how many factions you want to have and what the goal of the server is, and decide the size based on that. Don't be afraid to make the map smaller, bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. It will also be easier on your hardware to run a smaller map. When you generate a heightmap, play around with the settings to achieve what you desire. You can generate a continent here, an archipelago, whatever. Or you can even draw a heightmap by hand in another program and import it… But I don't know how well that would work.

Ores - I left this default for Brohan. I would advise against adding Addy/Glimmer veins because mining is kind of a crapshoot and once one faction finds moonmetal, they have an immediate advantage over the others. Again, there's a snowball effect there. Might be better to save moonmetal as a reward for HOTA, dungeons, or other stuff.

Biomes - Always place forests by hand. Why? Because walking through a forest with every type of tree is retarded. Use "Min height", "Max height", etc. creatively here, and you can achieve lots of nice effects like sandy beaches. Again, just play with it and learn how it works. One thing I like to do but isn't necessary at all, is place biomes where they make sense, so e.g. put a desert in the shadow of a mountain because the mountain blocks wind currents from bringing rain to the area, or add snow and tundra to the northern part of the map… But maybe that's just autistic. In any case, I personally would place desert, snow, steppe, etc. by hand as well, the default option just adds ugly splotches.

Finally, don't be afraid to add little touches like little islands, or canals connecting rivers for increased navigability.

Or clay.

lol no

gib some screen shoots of it pls, it seems really good from just that though

Three or four continents with a few large islands. A volcano on one or two of the continents. Some snowy mountains, but not too many big mountains outside of that area. Make sure all slopes are traversable, none of that shit where you have to keep backing up your horse to find the single tile with a slope low enough to climb up. There can still be cliffs though. A couple of manually placed bridges and some ruins. No dense chestnut forests. And it needs a spiral.

We also have to consider how many hits we want rock tiles to take, as that's a server setting and not a map we can can wait on that. Not that we're even ready to start working on maps. I think 50-70 is a good number.

Those are examples of how large the filesize is, not serious suggestions.
What size would we even want? I'm guessing 4k as we're not that large of a population.

Cheers.

(Checked)
I feel that the trade off of a easy mine opening doesn't offset the cons a thin dirt layer causes, namely flattening areas for building and decent roads. Having opened mines in 70+dirt layer servers I can safely say it's a pain in the ass, but worth the added dirt.

...

That's the map from the last serb m8, I'm glad you like it but I don't think anyone wants to re-use it.

Trust me, it doesn't look that large in the map maker, but it's actually a lot of space. Like I said, is only 2k and yet after months of being up with hundreds of players over 3 factions, a good 90% of the map is just unspoiled wilderness. You don't need that much space, and it may actually hurt you in the long run if you make the map too large, for performance reasons and for the sake of factions being able to find and reach each other. In the end it's up to you though, maybe you want faction spawns spread out on their own islands with a continent in the middle with resources, who knows.

Like I said, it's up to you. Just keep in mind that 70 dirt per tile in the map maker doesn't actually mean a 70 dirt layer, and not just because of erosion either. I'm not even really sure how exactly it works, but just consider the number in the Dirt Per Tile box to be more like a slider you adjust up and down than an actual number that means anything.

kek

no it's not this is

Oh, was there a server inbetween Brohan and now? In any case it's the map from Brohan, it's been used already.

a remix of it would work then tbh

Way I understand it the generator drops that amount of dirt on each corner, then after it's all placed the dirt rolls down the slopes dirt wouldn't be able to rest on. So higher dirt layers means less exposed rock tiles on high slopes and more even lower slopes, while smaller dirt layers mean more exposed rock tiles on high slopes and more bumpy lower slopes.
As for size you're right, for a small PvP focused group a 2k works well, being a PvE fag I tend to default to fuckhuge areas were I have plenty of spots to chose from.

Having sailed nearly the entire length north to south of an 8k map, in a fucking row boat, I understand exactly how large a 2k, 4k, and 8k map is. On that server it was worth it, but you're right it wouldn't work well for a Holla Forums serb.

I just can't stand slow as shit skill gain and timer on 1x, not like I've ever played on 1x, but I can guess it'll be fucking a waiting game.

Sup cotton nigger, Banana here. I miss your stupidity.

2x XP and 4x timers maybe?

I kinda like the idea of this, so I won't get cucked out of a sweet phat loot, but then that also works against me. But why not, I guess.

wew.

So here's a curious question I think we looked at earlier but never really got back on.

Is this going to be a comfy building serb, or are we eventually going to feed the server info to 4/v/ so they can get memed on. I'm pretty neutral either way, but if we do there'd have to be a GM willing to handle two groups of very different autists at once. But I also would rather avoid another pornhug ad fiacso.

we ~need~ to have afew different groups other then our selves inorder to have something to work towards

My ideal would be a couple of us each in different deeds with all of them in an alliance, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here and most of us want a main Holla Forumsillage and someone to PvP with.

Are you talking about even nodrop items like beginner tools and contracts? Is that even an option? I don't think it's a good idea.

it depends on how many we have really, we do indeed want a capital that's heavily dependable but we also want smaller sites spread out in our lands in-order to maximize the resources on it

I wonder if 4cucks would come again after we steamrolled their shit so hard, some lost their sanity. Though another group to compete against sounds fun.

Definitely not beginner tools, and not contracts. Maybe set it so tools can't be dropped.

I figure if 4/v/ gets settled in, we could tell them to bring in steam groups or some other cancerous shit and have those get spread across the map. But that's operating on a best case scenario sort of ideal, and I'd have to see others reactions on something as dramatic as that.

Mind you I'm basically suggesting that first part as a sort of food chain thing.

Who we advertise to should be based on how good the server can handle players. Wurm doesn't handle ram usage so well according to

...

That would be hell once you upgrade from your starter shit

Is there a difference in height for Online and Unlimited? None of the mountains seemed as tall as the mountains on Online and I never heard any of the tall mountain ambiance like hard wind when I explored the top of every mountain on Brohan.

That map was from Default's server which ran from April to May, Brohan's map was June to September which makes it the most recent big server.

ohyo'umd

So I have something of a template for the new OP, which includes links to G2A, server/client files, and the map generator. Also a mod list and the shit I already posted here
Should I include anything else?

...

at least s forty percent all natural meme

...

I'm the one saying go now, the other fag is the one saying wait until summer

Your blatant shitposting has been apparent this entire thread, friend. And no I'm not making a faggy thread like the last OP did. I'm asking for more shit when the time does arrive, whenever that may be.

Beginner's Toolbox

Things to further discuss:

What changes to death is it that people are wanting? Just make it so that starter gear doesn't drop and bully people for killing freshies.

basically

4/v/ has been here, lurking, participating, arguing. BroHotS is eager for next serb

Also throw in a sickle as part of the babby set. That way we don't suddenly go full Captain Planet supervillain tier and actually manage to keep good trees around on top of it.

Every Wurm Autist is a Forester/Gardener

Good. Hopefully we can figure out how fucked Wurm is when it comes to multiple factions in the next thread

Added.

I agree but it seemed like the conversation didn't fully get going.
Just wanted to make sure everyone had their say

...

Sickles aren't really necessary. You can make your own pretty early on. I actually don't really care either way but I hate treefags.

nothin personal newbie

Do you know how many 4cucks that are eager for next serb? I'm curious since many seem to have rage quitted because they got btfo so hard when they try to raid us.

Yeah, enjoy running out of logs after a while.

not an accurate count but i can say roughly 11+ are willing to start the next serb.
general feelings are, 8/v/ didnt really have too much of a noticable advantage, our village was just so ful of inexperience people that every encounter was a learning experience such as no reason not to have 50+ free ghost guards, bows are OP, and gates arent created with locks on them

...

pastebin.com/54YWkbLW
k?

Wew.
Either move the modlist to the bottom, or make a separate pastebin for it, too much clutter for the very beginning.

Not bad, though 4cucks filled with bunch of inexperienced people is going to be hilarious.

What are the timer and XP gain multiplier going to be?

Isn't losing some skill pts already in vanilla from the beginning?

Pretty sure this is going to be a disaster if we're going to have lower XP gain multiplier rate because you'll have to craft even more shit. So either high XP mult and scarce resource, or vice versa.

And lastly, what about bounty mod?

ayy we had fun

Yeah, should have realized having something in the subject field attracts way too much attention for Pastebin. Fixed it though pastebin.com/HF5KrWQH

All that's in the paste, as for death drops people were discussing how it should be handled as in no loot/skill drops vs some loot/skill drops. But I guess I should have been more literal with the sentencing. Fixed it.

This map had the one thing that gave me, a seasoned carpenter, a huge rock hard on and a willingness to switch to miner profession - the chasm.
I do hope that the new map will also have a chasm or a very steep cliffside at least. I really wish for Mines of Broria to be a thing. It could even sustain a village above the cave for farming and forestry needs.

I'd fucking kill for that. Perhaps a chasm is the next step? If only Wurm knew how to properly handle mine heights without being really really weird

What do people think of increasing the amount or effect of affinities? It would encourage specialization and pvp. On the other hand if it was more significant than 10% it would make some characters objectively better if they got an affinity in strength or something else good. It might make pvp even worse too with more snowballing.

I'd personally go for either x2/x4 or 3x/3x xp/timer
While x1 gains wouldn't scare me away,i have a feeling it would prove to be too much even if WU is easier to skill then WO. My ID gets switched everytime i connect,am the same user you asked the question, along with 6 other ID's that i posted with earlier in the thread

sup faggot, shekel here,i miss you too

Cotton nigger, you're due for a few hundred lashes, fields went unattended some times due to your absence, make sure to report on the next serb for your fair punishment.

So you say, as everyone else furiously quits after that botched up as shit raid on us :^)

Just saw bounty mod added to the paste, all good. I do hope it won't be fucking 1x or 2x. Also, what do you think of random half of your inventory drops during death? And I suppose I prefer no skill drops.

I suppose touching up affinities would make it more special, as of now, it feels almost irrelevant to me.

Sup sheckel, miss your ass lad, shit was fun.

Haha… ha…

Some of you fags know me too well.

Jesus fucking Christ, Yore.

Is it possible to let players choose their affinity? That way we'll be able to pick for the skill we want to main, and PvP would mean running the risk of losing an affinity you actually like, while possibly taking someone's favored affinity.

I never spoke to you too much if at all, but I always appreciated your meals made with extra iron that were in Broschwitz
You might have if you ever visited me for a carpet or two when I was but a young tailor

But for real, I still stand by that goal of balancing everything so that everyone's chosen jobs are rewarding in their own way and they are appreciated for it.
Didn't you also do wine back in Broschwitz as well, or was that someone else?

I agree with no skill drops, the lower end rates of gains would already take time to build up. As for drops in general on death I'd say drop it all. Higher risk PVP and it would encourage looting and pillaging, something I'd say would be pretty neat to see nearing endgame.

Forgot to add; everything EXCEPT starter tools and what-not for death drops.

I totally agree with this, but on the same time having shit affinity might "encourage" PVP to try your luck on acquiring a new or by dying rerolling your affinity.
Though most of the time affinity is not important when autism is in play.

I don't know what the max height of the mountains in Online are, but I wager they're taller than 4096. However some Online maps are very mountainous, I'd go as far as to say they're too moutainous. Take Xanadu for example (wurmonlinemaps.com/Maps/Xanadu/) - see all the grey on the map? That's all stone of course, and of course you know stone doesn't just generate spontaneously on the surface. It's only revealed when there's a slope present which is too steep for dirt/sand/etc. to remain on. So all that grey space is steep slopes: unusable for building, impossible to traverse, unlivable, barren, and mostly wasted area. And it also goes to show how mountainous the map must be if there are that many tiles over the slope threshold.

Brohan's mountains WERE a bit short though. I don't know if that was the cause of the missing ambiance or what. I do know there's a certain "windy" sound that plays sometimes, it's supposed to play when you're on mountains but in reality it just plays when you have a lot of rock tiles nearby. Also there's another one that plays in steppes which I'm sure you've heard.

Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, the max height is just a cap on the map's height, not a factor affecting the layout of the heightmap. So you can set it to whatever you want and it won't make your map any more or less hilly, it will just cut off the tops of mountains if you set it too low. Just make sure not to set it lower than the altitude you set for Power tiles to be generated at, or you'll screw over anyone looking to walk the Path of Power.

I actually thought the chasm would come out like shit, it was something I threw in at the last second as a "fuck it, why not" thing, and it turned out better than expected. I literally just drew a line with the paint tool in the map editor and it made a canyon. Then I admin'd a bridge across it so there's a chokepoint people could fight on, at least that was the idea.

Don't forget that meals can give temporary affinities now.

FYI not just for you, but for anyone discussing death drops: The mod that lets you change which "starter items" the player gets, simply lets you add or subtract items from the starter inventory, determine their QL and whatever, and decide whether they're marked as "starter" items. "Starter" items will stay with a player on death but can't be imped. That's how it is unless someone mods the game manually. So the only real options barring that are

The thing on Brohan where you wouldn't drop anything/would only drop armor on death was actually a bug, NOT a feature, and certainly not intentional. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the fact that the server was a weird frankenstein between Epic and non-Epic with a DB originally ported from the Creative map with many edits made directly to the JAR. Brohan was meant to be full-drop except for starter items but we couldn't isolate the cause of the bug.

That's how death works normally.

I'll toss my vote in on starter tools that can't be imped and not dropped on death. Branch and rock gathering can be a pain in the ass, and with starter tools that can't be imped means that players will want to actually get off their asses and make/beg for shiny new tools

Reminder that wurm somehow doesn't calculate the entire Y axis at all, the game is only based in Z and X and the 3D render and interaction you are seeing is some sort of fucking javascript magic I don't understand. but it works and it stops the game from being even more unoptomized.

Tools unable to be imped and undroppable makes sense to me. So pretty much this

YOU FUCKING IMBECILE
Don't you fucking know the Right-hand rule?
Everything in wurm is based around the X(length) and Y(width) axis and the Z(height) axis kinda exists too, but it has a "slave" relation to X and Y.

Not really. Height affects archery, combat, and some other things. You can take falling damage if you fall from too high. You can have multiple floors, it's not like Doom where you jump to whatever height the floor is at.

You faggots have no idea,if you think we'll go easy on you this time you're dead wrong,we'll build a hall to put your mangled corpses on display,i will stalk you,i will hunt you,you shall know no respite, with righteous fury i will cut you down and your heathen effigy's,in the name of big daddy mag.

ERP aside,tell badolf,shekel said hi :^)

It's a shame that we'd have to throw them in coffin's to keep them fresh, it'd be kind of cool to give them the Lenin treatment icepick and all

It's almost a shame plebbit probably doesn't have a general vidya place to throw in the serb, if the serb could actual handle the numbers it might end up being a decently autistically fun time.

I like the look of the map, that loch at the bottom looks /comfy/ as fuck tbh.

I miss you Shekel.

t. Awolf

Also lads, just saying but if there are more than just one shitposter who want to start sooner than summer I guess we could negotiate 3 months instead of 6. I miss Wurm a lot, too. Though I still think it would overall be smarter to wait for summer. Anything less than 3 months is insane though. The map has to be perfect, the server has to work well, the settings have to not be fucked. Map's most important though, it has to be a work of art and go through a bit of testing.

would be nice to have truly unique areas on the map. maybe like an area composed of several little islands or a string of spires submerged in water to give a little pve flavor. hopefully there'll be more pve this time around

i just left my game running all the time, overnight too
i also had a "job" where i only worked for at most like 3 hours at a time and just left the game running then
besides that i was very much deep in the wurm autism and stayed on until the very end more or less and then migrated to another server to autism it up there and got to 90 channeling

hopefully all of this will be archived and down the road we can have an annual/semi-annual wurm autism fest with the configurations people like

*more pvp

...

gib disagreement

gib disagreement

oh right, d i s c o r d is filtered

Theres a reason this yidshit is filtered.

If we have faggots getting into it every 2 months and then fizzing out after 2 weeks, then we're never going to have a good run. Everyone needs to recover from Wurm burnout and then get blueballed by it so we can all join it at the same time and have a great time together.
Trust me you don't want to grind for a week with 3 people, who then quit one by one and then not want to play that shit again for a long time.
Just forget about it for a few months and do something else.

Please nobody try looking for the Brohan HoTS D i s c o r d. It's the worst and I want to be freed from this eternal hell

This tbh. We've learned from our mistakes last serb, and saying that we now have everything ready for a quality serb. All that's left is to let everyone cool off on something that's been tried constantly without any large breaks in between. I know some of you lads are wanting to play, I am too. But we'll appreciate the game more if we miss it and have the old fags join up with us as well.

honestly I'd like to go into it just to scroll up and read what y'all were talking about when we were up to some form of bullshittery or another

wait, are you implying that there ISN'T an annual wurm fest already?this clearly needs to be top priority then.

i miss ya too wolf because if it weren't for ya,i'd still be standing there,in front of the oven, trying to make food so shit it'd probably reduce my food bar when i ate it.i don't get wurm cooking,i throw some carrots and pretty leaves in a pot along with a couple shafts, some eggs,a bit of sawdust, some dough, just a sprinkle of ammonium bicarbonate, cook it all in used frying oil,and no matter how much i wait,i don't get a cake,i don't get it,you're like a magician to me

I-I don't really care t-tbh,too c-cool for it in all seriousness hope you faggots are careful with what you say there

The wurm channel is hidden to everyone, don't ask me why but I assume it's to preserve the sacred texts for when another servers goes up

Just make a new chat channel when the server opens that only people with the "Insider" role or whatever get to see and post in

wait wait wait,so you're telling me,that there is a sekrit meeting place, for what should be,enemies, where all the important shit is decided, and then posted here,so the rabble can take it in,i can't put my finger on it,but this all sounds strangely familar for some reason :^)

why yes Holla Forums has tons of circle jerk places where they want to dictate how the site operates but don't actually use it anymore

wangus here, set up a fucking shithole for people to discuss brohan in general for all those of us who are enslaved to the disagreement jew.

lemme know who you are and i can assign roles as they come, each faction gets a s e c r e t channel and voice channel

disagreement.gg/Ddm99DK

I hope you fags don't use the secretfag place instead of here in the open forums where people can actually voice their opinion and not be drowned out by namefags WHICH IS THE ENTIRE POINT WE USE IMGBOARDS IN THE FIRST PLACE

New thread soon? And are we still using "Brohan", because it seems like we should be coming up with a new name for whatever new server we end up with.

new name should be the topic of next serb

Tfw noone but Banana and me was autistic enough to cook. Every time I catched someone trying to cook it was like watching a 6 year old sneaking into the kitchen trying to cook something for mommy for the first time but it goes horribly wrong and in the end mommy has to order pizza again which may or may not have been the plan all along…

where's my fucking pizza you bitch!?

I'm surprised china hasn't made a Wurm ripoff taking place in the Three Kingdoms period

i am now envisioning, somebody getting a cookie cutter serb up,for the sole purpose of a map wide battle royale, with each faggot representing the name they want for the next Holla Forumsillage/serb.I am ok with this.

you couldn't be more on point if ya tried, too godamn proud to ask for help because holy shit it's ingame cooking how hard can it be.

Efficiency pays off, but I didn't have too much fun in that serb.

Looks similar to what my fundamentals for a map were >>14193562, but I would really suggest a small area at bottom, with a chokepoint to mainland which will host pve dragon, champ events in the future.
I suggest you make a river eastward-westward to help facilitate travel between both mainlands. And put a steep mountain or two that will make players take 1 or 2 path routes to the enemy kingdom, instead of the big open space you have. Its better to restrict openness so that players can by happenstance meet each other while trekking to and fro.
