Nintendo Labo

To think
Nintendo's consoles went from being made out of nintendium
to cardboard

what the fuck was nintendo thinking

"Our products are primarily for kids, and Amiibos were successful, so let's make another combination of video games and physical toys"

We want a fuck ton of peripheral devices for the Switch but they are really expensive to make. Wat do?

Goddamn

Also OP, you forgot
70 FUCKING DOLLARIDOOS

A game costs $60. A game with a bunch of sheets of fancy cardboard costs $70. Another game with a bunch of sheets of fancy cardboard costs $60. What is hard to understand about this?

I just wanted to post that joke
Also honestly, only way to save that shit by now is to have alternatives to the entire thing. Like, "pay 70 bucks for the entire shit, or pay 10 for just the cardboard parts". Honestly, being able to fish in zelda with that rod would be extra-comfy, but only if it's less than 10 dollars. Heck, they should even just offer free manuals to tell everyone how to make it with their own cardboard if they feel like it. Then it'd seem less stupid.
Anyway if we actually start discussing nintendo labo here it'll be just another thread about it compared to the sticky and it'll probably get deleted, again, just wanted to share that joke

I guess we'll have to make our own consoles…

Sneak peak at Nintendo's next big project! Don't tell anyone.

I don't know if we should expect that they will work outside of games made specifically for them, which is the real weakness here. If they don't have the software to back it up, it'll just be something parents by for their kids, have fun making, play with it a little, then just pack it up forever. I wouldn't be surprised if they let people make their own kits if they were compatible with other software. I mean, they can't stop people from making their own instructions and sharing them anyways.

Remember the wii ? They made a fuckton of attempts to use and abuse their accessories and ideas. In two months they'll announce some new games that use this shit everywhere, and it'll end up being actually fun somehow.
Remember when they announced splatoon ? The entire idea seemed retarded at first, then it became an amazing game. They'll probably make a new starfox that lets you use the whole thing like with VR somehow, or whatever else. Who knows ?
Could be great if they go crazy with it. My main gripe is the pricetag, but if we assume indeed that games are 60 dollars of it, then the cardboards are only tne bucks, which is acceptable.

Should be selling these things at $30 assuming the games are just minigame shit.

Software should be sold alone at sub $20 and provide your own shit.

I saw a flight stick, I hope that gets some serious use and is sold separately

You’re a fucking retard.

B-but it has "Nintendo" written on it, user !..

In the words of Jeff Gerstmann after a long game of Mario Party "Fuck all Videogames Forever"

Reminds me of the toys Gunpei Yokoi made for the company.

With that being said, I'd rather buy a Magnavox Odyssey; I'd have more fun putting overlays on my TV.

This nigga said it
You can get cardboard FOR FREE if you ask your local convenience store or something. ANY mount of cash, even $.01, is too much for cardboard. And I seriously doubt its $10 for rubberbands and string either.

I don't understand how some of you don't understand this, how you've spent your entire life without coming to this realization: Nintendo makes consoles and games for children. This is all targeted towards children.

I think most of us are baffled by the pricetag
and also a bit disappointed because we frankly expected something a bit crazier
but to be fair we should be used to that kinda stuff from nintendo indeed

NoA, really. They have a heavy hand on the company's decisions so they naturally push anything "cute" or "kid friendly" over all else.

Even if they don't sell the cardboard seperately or freely downloadable online, it will be piss easy to just download a jpg and buy some cardboard and rubber bands from any random dollar store. At worst you might need to look around for a sturdier cardboard but that's the furthest you'll ever need to go.

More like Nintendo Hobo.

Except you don't because you always hype up everything Nintendo does and the Nintendo Board Kike only adds on top of it.

Nigger this is as Japanese as you can get, fucking cardboard on a console in 2018

Nigger, you cannot name something crazier than what Nintendo just revealed.

You're paying for the brand, obviously. But it is a neat thing for kids to play with, it's made out of cardboard so kids can easily manipulate it and assemble the shapes and also so they rip them apart easily and their parents have to buy more.

This, the Japanese actually like crafts because they can be cutesie. Nip women will be all over this.

...

kek, fair enough

If they get this shit to be used creatively in other games, honestly I wouldn't mind paying 10 bucks for it at all. Again, that fishing rod in zelda could be the time of my life. Just realizing there was no fishing in breath of the wild. There totally needs to be in the next one.

You're not a very thoughtful one, are ya

What do you mean retards will try to rationalize cardboard?

Honestly I think this would be maybe the coolest thing ever if the software was sold separately or maybe even free and then you could buy each kit for 10-20 euros or something.

Yeah, if the software had been free as a way to showcase the whole stuff I would've been totally sold. Making you pay this much is kinda assfuckery

I'm not the one who conveniently forgets that the game comes with a game and isn't just $80 of cardboard.

What do you mean neofag refugees will shitpost loudly without thinking?

Even if they don't sell them separately it will be piss easy to make your own.

See, if more people actually talked about the game being the price it was there would be an argument, but as of yet you're one of the only people I've seen who doesn't blindly assume it's $80 for a box.

Already have one

Check the catalog before making a thread, you cardboard loving whore.
