It's fun to toss people in there.

I'm an Archmage, lvl 46 or so. Can't really wander at night anymore. I get assaulted by 4 succubi and 3 hellhounds and everything goes to shit very fast.
Is there anyway to get daylight back? because I can't see shit and I think that giant hole will end the game.

Right now I'm backtracking and seeing what I've missed. I think I rushed through most of the game without noticing.
Killed a hydra yesterday, that was fun.
And when I finnaly get the hurricane spell to get those faggot dragons… they stop showing up. Goddamnit.

Aparently I also managed to enter the chamber of the Ur Dragon. I climbed the tower on the other side to examine it before the fight and he despawned. I feel terrible.

Fournival asks you to take care of his daughter, a fat loli dressed in red. You have to give her a tour around the town. If you do it flawlessly (which is a pain) she gifts you a gold idol, that you can then give to a merchant for them to get better objects in their shop.

The quest appears before Trials and Tribulations, quite early in the game.

If you go back after a bit, not sure what the exact point is, you find out that she wastes the money buying the house and goes back to starving to death just in a nice house. She either didn't think about food, because she expected servants to buy it for her, the servants abandoned her, or she ended up using the money to buy the house and then has none left for anything else.

You can also forge the idol and keep the forgery, because it discounts all shop prices by 30%.

I realized that after a while and was the main reason I was asking so much questions for sorcerer, I saw the webms and heard of Holla Forums talking about this game having great magic and I fell for the meme. But it's my fault and I'll play as a warrior later because its boring as hell fighting.

The best magics aren't actually used by the pure classes, Magick Archer is one of the strongest damage dealers in the game because fuck you have a 1.8 damage multiplier passive. That and Magic Knight is probably the best way to go about it if you make the mistake of wanting to be melee in this game.

Careful about picking Warrior, that's another class people do sometimes get bored by. Having only 3 skills, no defensive options besides facetanking or your one skill with i-frames, slow normal attacks (besides jumping light, which you'll spam all the time), bad climbing and no ranged options basically can get frustrating and you have to have a massive boner for Berserk to power through that. At least you get high tankiness and high stagger output, so you can fuck up some enemies before you should be able to.

I was so close to picking archer in the beginning too. But hell, it wouldn't be so bad if bandits didn't cause me more problems than most enemies and if they didn't just rush me. At least I became really good at free running.

Strider is the best melee class tbqhwyf.

Strider is the most fun. You don't have to use the bow at all, I never do except to shoot flying enemies.

Wouldn't assassin be better since you have access to swords, daggers, small shields, and bows? In addition to exclusive skills that help with taking down giant enemies? Not saying the strider class isn't fun, but having versatility all in one class is always better.

Assassin lacks some important skills. I don't remember which, since it's been a while since I've played. I just remember assassin was missing a skill that made it a total deal breaker for me. I think it was dodge roll, maybe?

Well I know Assassin lacks Helm Splitter, which is one of the striders best damage moves. On the other hand you get Masterful Kill.

The dodge roll is a core skill for daggers, so any class that uses daggers has access to it.

Also, none of the guards suspected nothing of the 1,50 m loli that was running around the castle. She was wearing guard armour, so she surely was one of them.

You probably can't see jackshit cause it's pitch dark, but:
A) Is me, a fighter
B) Is a metal golem that I've been fighting for like 30 minutes now
C) Is the last talisman I have to break, which is on top of a fucking tree

I've tried climbing the golem to reach the talisman jumping from it, to no avail. I've tried waiting for my pawns to target the talisman with their ranged attacks, but the just scream shit about finding it (while it's just over their heads). Is there any legit way to destroy that thing as a mele character or the game? I find it hard to believe that thee devs would make a part of the game that is just imposible to complete if you chose the wrong vocation. But then again, mele fighters are generally fucked over in this game.

You have to take advantage of the knockdowns caused by breaking the medallions you can reach to break the ones you can't. Takes a few tries.

I'm a fighter too, I usually let my pawn take care of it last. I draw the golem to the furthest talisman and destroy them till the golem freezes in place then walk pawn over and have it cast spells or fire its arrows.

I've been trying that, but the talisman is just too high and my pawns don't seem to want to target it. Honestly, if I'd go to the inn and changed vocation, I'd have finished the golem already.

I've played as a figther, as an assassin and as a warrior. I felt like returning to fighter and so I did. IMO all parts should be achievable with all vocations. Otherwise, you discourage people trying them all out. If I know that with a mele vocation I may encounter enemies that I simply can not defeat (like, it's actually imposible) I'm less likely to ever paly as a fighter or a warrior.

If it makes you feel any better, spellcasters are also FUCKED by metal golems.

Anyway, I changed to assasin and killed the golem in a moment. It took me less than a regular golem. Afterwards went to Devilfire grove and raped the drake, wich previously, as a warrior, had took me a painfuly long time to kill.

I want to play a mele class cause archers just feel like easy mode. However, mele is not really "hard mode" but "frustrating mode".

Helm/Skull/Brain Splitter is probably one of the highest damage output skills in the game, it's ridiculous. And then there's Fracture Dart, also strider-exclusive. Properly timed, it takes massive chunks off Death's health, and no blast arrows needed.

BTW mystic knight and magick archer both benefit from articulacy and acuity. Stone forest is pretty much a quick "kill everything" button with those augments.

I deal with having only 3 skills by rolling with arc of deliverance. Nothing feels as satisfying as blasting 5 bars of life from a boss in a single hit.

Not to mention that you really need to be past lvl 50 if you want to make the switch.
100 would be ideal, but 80 is probably still safe. It's a big slog and I really regret fucking up my character because faggots told me that stats didn't matter, so I switched at about lvl 15.
Such is life I guess. At least I have an excuse to play it all again.

Anyway, opinions on pawn vocations?
For my first time I picked an archer, but after going through the entire game with one (minus BBI), I get the feeling that they're not as effective as the other two.
Maybe I'd try making a mage.

truth be told, if you are farming the 20% augments, that means you are playing sorceror (+5 MGK/lvl) and warrior (+5STR/lvl), so you gain some stats as well

What the fuck kind of ignorant niggers are you? Barehanded attacks can be done if you unequip your weapon. While unarmed you do your base strenght in damage, you have a basic puch and kick and access to dodge roll and double vault if you have them unlocked. In BBI you can get a bloody knuckle accesory that doubles your base strenght when unarmed and you can equip two of those to quadruple base strenght for a somewhat viable monk.
Get informed you fagets.

I think some of the RNG cancer rings in BBI can also have RNG bare handed damage modifiers.

When you set them on fire they roll to put out the flames, then you set it on fire again as it's standing up and it immediately rolls again, just keep doing that and attack it while it rolls.
They can be poisoned and slowed with torpor too.

From what I've heard the only good way to deal with Death is to abuse Magic Archer's ricochet attack in narrow hallways.

Dark Arisen would have been better if the boat ride was unlocked by killing the three special lesser dragons in the postgame

DDO has alchemist, which is basically a fist wizard, punching things into explosions of unstable fake gold

the fastest way is explosive arrows with 10-fold and 4 periapts. thousand kisses works really well too, but it won't take him down in one spawn.

Use Skull Splitter with 4 periapts. Won't kill it in one spawn unless you're at a higher level, but you'll chunk the ever living shit out of it.

Other than that, it's really enjoyable just going around with your main pawn and having to make ends meet in more difficult situations.

So is completing Bitterblack Isle purely a matter of grinding to ridiculous levels and getting lucky with the RNG to get the right items? I'm trying to get through it right now as a level 71 sorcerer and I've reached a point where I'm just not doing enough damage.

Print Screen doesn't seem to work. Everything else I can find either refers to the pause menu photo mode that I don't have, or to Steam's screenshot key, which naturally doesn't apply to GOG versions.

It respawns after a few days, like most world bosses and chests in the game.

At this point you're more the companion side character and he's the hero solving shit. Best to just accept your role in the relationship.

Assassin is best for levelling iirc because it has the highest attack increase per level than any other, but strider has that one move that makes you go ridiculously fast, which combined with thousand kisses and other things is deadly as fuck. Assassin is fun for the counters and assassination move though.

Pro Tip - Most of the Tier 3 Sorcerer attack spells, the ones with the flat circular aura while casting, can be stacked with other Sorcerers casting the same spell to cut the casting time. Four Sorcerers can nearly insta-cast one Tier 3 attack spell and easily break the game.
But I have no idea how you're supposed to easily find enough Sorcerer pawns with the right inclinations for this. Dragon's Dogma search engine is seriously lacking.

Assassin gets weapon variety, which is good if you have lots of enchanted weapons. But Strider has the best moves and passives.
It's like Strider has the best melee moves instead of Assassin and the best bow moves instead of Ranger. Slap a Rusted Bow and drop a Cloudburst Volley and just. FUCK. SHIT. UP.

Also I posted to quickly and was going to add on that it doesn't feel rewarding being a mage in this game. All I do is hold down a button, aim and hope to God they don't hit me before I finish.

No stats are fucktarded in the game, if you wanted to play Strider you should have picked Fighter from level 1-10 and Assassin from level 10-200. Then swap to Strider.

Well one thing which really changed my Sorc gameplay style was realizing you can use the basic M2 charge attack when jumping, allowing you to keep moving when you do it.

Try these using Brontide(LIGHTING WHIP!) and Ingle. But if you feel like you want to change and regret your stats, try Magick Archer first; it has a slightly lower Magic Attack growth rate so it enjoys some earlier levels in Mage/Sorc and it has some really neat attacks.

Also, Mystic Knight is fucking metal as fuck.

I was using the lightning whip at first but I later got rid of it because it drained stamina so quickly and if a enemy hit you it would disperse, which they usually would because they would tank the hit and charge at me. Also you can't run when using it. Also I switched from Ingle because it was just too weak for the enemies I was fighting and cosmetion was a lot better although it has a higher charge time.

If you've ever thought "I want to tank EVERYTHING and simultaneously want to output enough ranged attacks to be a Touhou character", the Mystic Knight is the answer.

Are you playing Mage or Sorc? Because the former is more Support oriented with lots of buffs and heals while the later is more about tactical nuking. You should be throwing around these things with Sorc.

I'm playing Sorc and I have the Ice one in the webm but not the wind one.

Then I'd suggest changing to Magick Archer, since you don't seem satisfied with the spells as is.

In the first 5 minutes of gameplay i saw the exact same box models and textures, exact same torches, and some animations of the bow looked exactly the same as the ranger animations.

With a Sorcerer, charged holy bolts and magic buffs, you can kill Damion (both forms) in under 30 seconds, maybe under 20.

To be fair, playing Sorc is like 90% spamming charged holy bolts. You don't really have time to cast big spells nor do you need to, which can definitely make it pretty boring.

That's what really turned me off with the endgame sorcerer gameplay. All these spells and the only thing you do is spam a basic staff attack because it does more DPS than anything else in the game.

I had the most fun with a standard Fighter. Blocking is interactive, there's a nice set of skills that feel good to use like Dragon's Maw, and your armor looks awesome. The only drawback is there are a few enemies that will OHKO you if you get knocked down or grappled so you have to be super careful about that.

For some reason, I cannot teach my pawn the last stars of some enemies.

I would consider playing dragon's dogma if there were any ways to improve its graphics. It looks too damn yellow and textures are too low res with cheaply made normalmaps. It looks like first edition of skyrim.

I really want to like this game but the sheer back and forth for the quests gets old fast, and I don't see that changing any time soon until I get a shitload of portcrystals.
That and the retarded natural stat gains. Why can't I just level like in any other RPG? If I want to play as [Class] I shouldn't have to play as [every fucking class other than the one I want to play as] in order to have "optimal" stats. It's retarded.

I got annoyed by all the back and forth as well.

You get about 5 or 6 portcrystals over the course of the game, which isn't a lot. In New Game Plus, you can also buy them from The Black Cat (the forger's shop) for 200,000 gold each, but the game apparently only lets you place ten of them.

Aside from that, there's also this mod, which has an option to give yourself infinite stamina to make the traveling go a little faster:

The thing about portcrystals is that you have to put them BETWEEN the endpoints of certain routes to maximize efficiency.
An example (let's forget you can directly tp to both locations for now):
Cassardis(A) and Gran Soren(B).
Instead of putting one on A and the other on B, you should put just one on Mountain Waycastle.

Not defending this system 100%, but it's less tedious if you do it like that.

You can put one portcrystal on eradication site, that way you have access to witchwood, shadowfort and aernst castle, and also quick access to the chimera and bloodwater beach for quests.
Or in other words "Don't put them at the edges of the map"

Portcrystals should only be placed at important locations on the far edges of the map that are a bitch to get to until you get enough to just place them at most points of interest
Honestly having just two of them is fine enough, it means you have a teleport for each cardinal direction
You can run across the entire world map in 5 minutes if you avoid enemies and you never really need to visit most non-populated places more than twice unless you're doing those worthless escort missions so it's really not a big deal

Is there any way to patch the game to replace the title music and the boss fight musics with the original theme song?

Music is oggs just lying about in the game data, you can swap them out easily. Problem is that there's an arc file you need to hex edit otherwise it won't loop properly, with the music either getting cut short on it's loop, or with it playing through wholly once and not looping any further.
