Pubg Or Fortnite

Now, I know most anons here hate both pubg and fortnite, and that's fine. I'm not here to discuss the games themselves, but rather the reasons for their success, as well as which will ultimately succeed between the two. For any anons that don't know Fortnite was doing shit initially, until it added in the decreasing circle mechanic Pubg utilizes which helped to skyrocket its popularity and allow it to compete with Pubg. The devs of Pubg went so far as to try to sue the devs of Fortnite, claiming they were stealing their idea, despite the mechanics being used in other battle royale games long before either were invented.

Now, Pubg is out of early access with barely anything to show for it, and Fortnite is quickly catching up in players and twitch viewers, which as cancerous as twitch is, most anons have said that twitch was one of the driving forces behind Pubgs success. Also, Fortnite is free, and apparently has fore more often updates and content than Pubg to the point where people are claiming it will overtake Pubg and destroy it, in the same way Pubg destroyed H1Z1.

Now, my main questions are why was Pubg and Fortnite so successfull? Is it the lack of good games the past few years? Or the lack of a leading Battle Royale game since Quake? Or did they sucessfully combine the loot autism in the Dayz mod of Arma 2, combined with the battle royale elements of older shooters to make something new and addictive.

My second question is which you think will destroy the other, or if the obsession with the game is just a passing fad, which is going to fizzle out soon, as well as your reasons why.

I think you're overlooking the real underdog in this debate, that being the one and only "Go Fuck Yourself"
There's a reason why I love video games and 'Go fuck yourself' has definitely been a huge aspiring component for everything I've ever strived for, both as an intelligent gamer and as an independent Swedish gamedev, right now my project is to stop masturbating for a thirty minute interval while I open up Proccessing and work on my Cookie Clicker clone but I gave it a really clever name, ever heard of 'Potato Pusher?' that's right you haven't ebcause you're too fucking stupid you shit clown, why don't you put on some spectacles that aren't laced with shit and play my game cockgoblin. I already said it but again, go fuck yourself my dude, 'Go Fuck Yourself' has been an inspiration for not only me but a whole host of fuckign nits in thiis crackden I live in, in short: don't forget to stay hydrated or I will literally come kill you right now, in short: MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I don't think it's gonna happen like this. I think there will be a sort of natural segregation between the games over time as despite having a similar game play intention, they play pretty differently, right? It's sorta like dota 2 vs league autism in that case, I imagine.

I think the games will go on, but PUBG being remarkably popular with the chinese audience does create a legitimate demographic dilemma, and I think that's really worth discussing. It's not something people are alien to, there's been comics passed around for a decade about how BRs killed mmo X, Y, Z and it ultimately comes down to the atmosphere they create with the general behavior that group permeates.

The chinese aren't pleasant to be around, and I'm sure if a normal american pubg player has a few annoying arounds with "chung hyung kwa tso tso chuyguya" farting over their microphones it'll give a bad experience they think of when they next go to pick a game to play with PUBG being among the options. In this sense, I think fortnite which while also being a PC game, is available on less chinese systems too, which will ultimately help make it a more western game in that regard.

a lot of this is speculation and armchair analysis but I'm curious what you all think about that.

People love that DayZ Arma3 Battle Royale shit, it's all built up as a snowball to this.

It's like, shooting people is fun.
That's all there is to it.

I hadn't actually even thought of the chinese audience. I've already heard complaints about them online as well, that they constantly que up in NA servers as well. Chinese are also notorious for cheating and playing cheap which could further impact enjoyment of the game.

I'm curious why you think they'll separate though? From everything i've read, the big differences between the two seems to be the building aspects Fortnite has, similar to Rust, and its cartoony aspect, which has predefined characters and classes, whereas Pubg is more along the lines of h1z1 or escape from tarkov, where you just choose your gear. Another big issue I see happening though is the updates of content. Pubg is apparently out of early access already with a small amount of content, and one of the more common complaints i've heard is that fortnite is far more steady and generous with content and updates which seems to be why it's catching up so much.

I can't see the two competing and having things coming to a head at some point or another, unless they do diverge over time. Like how Overwatch directly competes with TF2, while not being exactly similar.

Like with Overwatch and Paladins, PUBG shoud hold out over Fortnite.

a great wall needs to be built on the internet to keep the chinese in china online. even if the chinese government doesnt ban something the rest of the world should just block off any access to the chinese.

True. And it was all made by the dude who originally made the dayz mod for arma 2. It's probably why he was so salty about fortnites success and competition. I mentioned it a bit as well, that it scratches the looting itch while giving you the battle royale experience. Also, most players don't seem to be used to the 1 life 1 round type of gameplay, which is a new turn compared to the usual COD or Battlefield multiplayer shit. Its massive success though is what is so surprising, unless like other anons have said and the main reason is due to twitch shilling it. If so, It makes me wonder if each game lives and dies by its twitch shillers.

Did paladins ever challenge Overwatch seriously though? From what i've seen and read, Fortnite is starting to overtake or even out with Pubg at this point. From what i've heard, it's not uncommon for Fortnite to have more twitch shillers shilling it now and more viewers. The thing about overwatch is it seemed to always have things in the bag, up until recently apparently, from what i've heard, but for Pubg & Fortnite, it seems like they're on relative equal footing right now.

They'll probably have another civil war eventually and take care of themselves tbh. Actually, if it does happen, considering a large percentage of the audience and viewers of Pubg are chinese, this could be catastrophic for Pubg. Actually, another thing to consider with chinese is what their interest levels are for games. They might not stick around with a game as long as americans or europeans might for favored games, like TF2 and others.

They got popular because of decades of jew brainwashing, so that people became complacent and lazy, finding fun in making others play the game for them. Streams are cancer, this thread killed a good thread, and you can fuck off.

...

If it were a good thread, it wouldn't be on the last page. And there is nothing wrong with theorizing why a new shit game is so successful among normalfags, it's good to theorize, so you understand why and can make your own successful games that are not shit.

I'm discussing the reasons for their success and which anons think will succeed. It's important to understand why they succeed or fail, even if they're shit you shouldn't play. If thinking is too much for you, go back to the lol thread.

...

Most threads die past the bump limit, making it a useless waste of space. Now how about you stop shitting up my thread and go fuck off somewhere you triple times niggerfaggot.

You made a shitty thread about shitty games, and you're even discussing the games themselves. Get fucked.
-1 post

At least my thread is unique, and not one of your cuckchan duplicates. And again, we were discussing the reasons for two shit games success and which will win, i know it's hard for you to understand Holla Forums, but think real fucking hard about the ramifications of the discussion. Or go back to cuckchan where you belong.

No it's not, we had a faggot shilling Fortnite and comparing it to PUBG, this isn't any different.
What the fuck am I reading?

Seems to me Fortnite has an insurmountable edge in popularity.

we have a PUBG thread everyday

Both are made for faggot twitch players so I couldn't give less of a fuck

I swear. We have this fucking thread once a day now: THE REASON FOR THEIR SUCCESS IS BECAUSE OF CHINA, YOU DUMB CUNT.

So you should know about both games then.

They're popular because they're relatively new, they're short and self-contained, and they're competitive. Much like how DOTA 2 and League were before them, these are, i suppose, the new hotness. I'd say PUBG is better than Fortnite because the latter is a bit too cartoony, not unlike Loadout, and also has building aspects that take away from the pure notion of shooting niggas. Like MOBAs before them, they'll "fizzle out" in that they'll become background radiation but still have a strong following.

I just want Battle Royale games to hit that point that ASSFAGGOTS have where the people who play them only discuss them amongst themselves. Instead of trying to butt into any vidya discussion.
Real tired of talking amongst people about mostly singleplayer games and then some faggots starts blabbing about Fortnite and his favorite streamcuck.

Official reports state outright that 99% of the cheating in PUBG is done by the Chinese.

It'd be a good game if chinks were never allowed in, since on top of being the aforementioned 99% of the cheaters, they are also the major reason the servers keep getting clogged with overseas connections, causing the game's infamous lag problems.

So the chinese may very likely be the reason for the eventual dfeath of the game? That's interesting.

...

nani?

...

same reason why ASSFAGGOTS are popular

low odds of success trigger the reward mechanics in the brain somewhat fiercely when producing a result, however UNEXPECTED results fucking turbocharge them, and being 1 out of 100 surviving a round is as unexpected as it gets

TL;DR: those games trigger literally the same reactions in the brain as pulling a lever on a slot machine

I bet one of (((them))) made this.

If that thread was so good then why was nobody posting in it?

sauce?

I see what jew did there

disappointing

But MOBAs weren't new, they were already a decade old on release of dota 2.

You barely ever shoot anything in PUBG though. The vast majority of every round is spent running around scavenging shit and hiding like a rat until you chink cunt with a wallhack snipes you from 3 miles away

Call me when there's porn of the 'E X T R A T H I C C' one.

I'll believe it. I like watching some people play PUBG (on youtube). I won't play it myself though.

...

they are both shit twitch meme games so how about neither you trendy faggot

this comes from the availability of the games. PUBG is biggest on PC and for many reasons, but PC gaming is also very popular with the Chinese, with over 60% of all steam users being Chinese speaking. Fortnite however is present on PS4, Xbone, and PC. The former two which have segregated servers and consoles are much less popular to the chinese. This is how I believe the separation is being achieved as there is already a difference in how the audiences engage which already forces a separation.

I have no idea why you're bringing up Quake user. It's kind of obvious that the big pull of this sub-genre is the scale of it, in both the size of the map and the number of players in a game.

From what I've seen of Fortnite I'll say that if it does beat pubg it'll be because it's free and has less graphical demands, gameplay wise pubg does a far better job accommodating this gamemode. Fortnite suffers far too much from originally being designed for a completely different game and does really suit the game it's being pushed as now.
