This is a terrible security system for a bounce house. You need to have your adversary bounce into a bottomless pit or something, not tempt him into throwing a lever moments before he dives to get hit by an arrow.

user, you've never been to 420chan have you? /opi/ and /del/ are some of the most depressing places full of nice people you could ever imagine, people who have serious mental health issues trying to make sense of their world through drugs that rip you from reality. Maybe you're right, but I find myself caring less and less as I've gotten older and more and more family members have been dying. Not to mention getting over my own existential dread, for the most part. It's just something I accept now.

yes, modded it could be interesting but it always ends up as a 'feedthebeast' type deal, still some things could really make it neat, for example
so players would have to get close to the mini planets for resources rather than using bullshit like nihilo to make something from nothing
but the endgoal is usually lacking, and I always end up making everything as tedious as possible

I'd normally be against something as brazen as a swastika, but considering the color scheme on the inside of that building, I find it quite whimsical and amusing.

Get a classic tekkit server or ftb, they usually have good mod packs. Anything that adds actual building shit like buildcraft will be perfect.

It was comfy as fuck and some user even made a comfy luxury house. Later the server got shit from griefers and I haven't played since then.

I remember a Holla Forums server I was heavily into. Everything but hacking was allowed. There was some factions mod and everyone competed for resources, I had a great time.
Our faction which abbreviated to MoM (Men of M..? I do not remember) managed to crack the code of the portal to the at that time largest and most prosperous faction. You see, the combo of mods they ran included a teleporter mod: you made a grid pattern of blocks on the ground and filled the holes with blocks of your choice, and on the other end you'd do the same thing. So we had a man on portal duty trying all kinds of combinations and he just happened upon their base.
The night of the attack was just plain awesome, I and another two sneaked down to their underground base but we couldn't get inside because the factionmod allowed factionmembers to claim land. We dug around their protected areas underground and created a tnt cannon to slowly dig into their base. We came upon a huge empty room with a glowstone ceiling and this room had another teleporter which brough us up to the skyceiling where they had a platform full of chests.
We quickly made a teleporter to our own base next to the tnt cannon and started looting. I remember going back and forth like ten times before suddenly having all their faction members appear trying to fend us off. I think we must have stolen 80% of everything they had, including chests of stacks of diamonds before we were chased home.

At some point we were tipped off presumably by a spy in an allied faction and weeks later we suffered a similar fate and they stole back what they could find. It had made us big though and still swimming in resources when we set sail for a new base. I came up with the idea of travelling by nether because 1 step in the nether is 8 in the overworld. We glitched through the roof of the nether and ran like 100k blocks until we portaled back and made a new base with many contraptions and safes to protect our shit.
Great times.

Think it ended when a faggot admin cheated in a special sword for someone and there was tons of drama because everyone was competative as fuck. I even got a hold of the sword at some point, everyone wanted it so it was stolen by a collective effort from multiple factions. They had a base literally made out of diamond and gold blocks very far away from the world spawn area on an ocean.

one of the anons on the server built a wall on the metro map that had a radio playing slav music and they kept giving out free guns and ammo and healing everyone
and the admin would spawn npcs for us to shoot at so we'd explore the map for a bit, hunting npcs and then come back to the wall and all sit around listening to music and shooting the shit

Minecraft is just a toy. A simple lego set with no instruction. It attracts autism as much as just sheer joy because of the okay survival mechanic and the unlimited nuilding mode. It digs into a both the joy of playing with your imagination as a child as well as fullfill the need of a human to cultivate and grow a spot of worthless land into something with a nice house for you your wife and your children. At the same time Minecraft enables you to build these amazing wonders that showcase humanitys knack for art and creation.

Minecraft itself is not something unique. Its a decent tool to unleash human imagination and desire to explore and to fight. To settle down and be a part member of a community.

Minecraft is not anything special in of itself its just a case of right time right place.

Listen. I mean really listen here. I've played the game for probably 4000 hours. If you want a genuinely enjoyable mincreaft experience then run the server on an older version. Right about when Redstone gets introduced is optimal imo. If you think that's hard it's not. The current manager allows you to run the game on virtually every version that's ever existed. Which is one of the only good things that the current year developers haven't gotten rid of yet as far as I know.

They added hunger, and all of the other shit that makes the game more of a chore. I mean, sure, you can play creative, but that's just not as enjoyable since it's not really a game at that point.

Play the later versions and find out honestly. But basically what the other user said. They took away creativity and shoehorned tedious segments that weren't fun at all. The last time I had fun with the game was during the Halloween update where they added nether portals. After that the game simple did nothing to improve and they just added more useless shit.

Yeah, I use that address for Doom as well. I hear CS/goldsrc just has really shitty netcode. People don't seem to have trouble with other games I've hosted.

The biggest problem is probably hunger. It's like what happened with Ace of Spades, they added some convenient stuff like shift-clicking, better server side stuff, and better performance settings and such, but they also added shit like hunger and all the shit they did to combat that makes it tedious.

Nothing of value was lost. Maybe at one point people played it seriously, but when I was on everyone was just sniffing eachother's dick cheese, and even the people who played it for the longest time were getting bored.

That's one of those games where I want to believe but just can't. You can't have a game that relies on the community to be enjoyable these days. It's sad but true.

Yes, hunger sucks, but I never played a Minecraft without this mechanic. Would probably be more fun, especially at the start when you explore and find a nice environment to build your house.
Looking for food at this point sucks.
After you settled down you can just grind on your crop farm and spam cookies, but it's still not fun.

Hunger isn't really an issue, to be quite honest.
It's the rest they changed that sucks.

Everyone has nostalgia for the alpha which was a featureless barren game, but not in their minds. The beta appeared and introduced hunger which was badly implemented, though a good concept in my opinion as it's called survival mode and doesn't let you instantly fill your health bar like a scrub. More than that, hunger came with an update that severely fucked the worldgen, made swamps very ugly and the grass biome very samey and boring, getting rid of all the cool landscape anomalies that could occur. This marked the "death of Minecraft" for many.
After that? I don't know, I'm not a child with autism to have kept up with that shitshow for much longer.

It was fully garbage in the server I played too. There were some novelty temporary upgrades one could use with one of the mods but they weren't really used and combat really only happened when one was caught in someones base.

The faction wars we had mainly revolved around politics, spying, constantly improving your base, coming up with inventive ways to hide your stuff, cracking portal codes, finding new ways to glitch/shell your way into other bases.

At one point I had a vault encased in 3 layers of obsidian, each with a space in between for water (obsidian, water, obsidian, water, obsidian). The water would try to stop TNT cannons and glitching through a wall in some manner would have you result in drowning. Weak points included the vault door system, so I came up with the idea of having lava pour into the vault as soon as door was broken by a fairly cleverly designed system of redstone that would get activated as soon as a door would explode since the items that fall on the ground after an explosion would go down a hole under the base and activate a pressure plate. Inside the vault itself the chests themselves were hidden with a piston contraption.

Yet they still got through.

A long time ago I proposed to the devs that the seed should just randomize the world spawn (since you have ±30000km to work with) and players can visit others by being online at the other's spawn location. I guess it'd have to work like Dark Souls where everyone keeps their own instance because merging two maps based on proximity would be ripe for chaos.

And if you want a pre-1.8 experience, just play TrueCraft. You don't have to give shekels to Mojang for that.

There's shodan.io, and server lists on places like minecraftforum and planetminecraft. It might take a while to find one that isn't whitelisted or modded if you use shodan though.

tb2t is probably the greatest server for hunting for relics of years goen by, especially since its been operational for longer than any other server. The center is just a nuclear waste, the outer rim of the waste is full of wandering griefers and cheaters, but if you escape them you reach the wastes of hunfreds of kingdoms now empty and full of holes, empty chests.
Beyond that you might spot your first tree, if you walk for an hour or so, find abandoned cottages or shelters where other users hid from the hordes of PKrs. If you get lucky you may find a portal to the nether and see thousands of old rail tracks and grand stations littering it, and if you're really lucky and wander the over world for long enough you may finally find some semblance of community playing, building a life out there

Thanks user, it was a work in progress, didn't know what I wanted to do, but once I saw jungle I figured a treehouse while keeping as much of the tree and leaves as I could. People just suck at building is all. They only use stone, or a single type of wood, build everything like boxes, never have any color highlights, can't into depth or texture, don't consider structural competency (realism makes better buildings), never add small details, etc. Even back in the day when there was only fucking cobblestone and stone half-slabs and one type of wood, people managed to use them to make good looking bases. It's not a limitation of the medium, it's a limitation of the users.
