Hungarian Revolution of '56

What are your thoughts on the Hungarian Revolution of 1956? Was it a legitimate attempt at overthrowing tankiedom and establishing real socialism or just a thinly veiled counter-revolution?

The Hungarian "Revolution" was a fascist and national chauvinist uprising against the USSR, Leninism, and socialism itself.

communists were lynched and brutalised during the fascistic rebellion which consisted mostly of students (literal "kiddies")
laughable that people still defend them.
especially seeing as troops restored order without massive casualties.

I've always been bothered by their flag being in that pic of Sweet Marx and Hella Bakunin where they're "making it happen.

Overthrowing tankiedom: yes
Killing tankies: unfortunately yes

Workers councils: yes
Pannekoek'd like it. I'd say they had leftcom influences without the armchair shit.

this, it's a fact that there were nazis prominent in the hungarian revolt. just like modern ukraine.

Proofs required for Hungary please.

A lot of different factions tried to shrug Russian influence.

It was led by Left Communists who thought the USSR wasn't socialist enough, but a lot of the masses weren't revolting for leftist reasons.

There is nothing wrong with lynching tankies.

Then why did it result in the construction of a socialist government far to the left of the USSR?

Would have been much easier for these anti-communists to go back to the way things had been just eight years prior, when Hungary was not socialist.

This tankie is right… For once…

No they weren't, only tankies were lynched.

...

Absolutely based. I think I'm going to buy a Hungarian flag and cut a hole in it now.

Seemed more socialist than the

This but exactly the other way around.
