Terraria

Picked up again recently. Trying to make a sort of Castlevania-like castle, but I'm not really sure how to do so. Right now I have this weird semi-buried snow fort thing going on, not really sure what to do next.

Well it's definitely one of the more abstract builds I've seen. Instead of a castle a cool underground snow base with Boreal and stone slabs would be interesting as primary building materials. Also if you don't care about that at least consider that I like to build with the idea of setting logical challenges for reach biome. If I build underground for instance I make a lot of support beams. If I build in a Tundra I make sure there's a lot of sources to keep the place warm like pic related. Pic 1 hre has some and Pic 2 improves on the concept. I wish the game would recognize blocks that give off a light source as a light source for NPC homes.

Also update to my home area from last thread. I'm really trying to make this place as comfy and well lived in as possible. The second I can create a modded world that doesn't eat to much memory but also allows for a taller sky is when I'll port the thing to it. Problem is I can't open the editor with modded worlds I think. That or I don't have enough memory on my toaster. Really how do you fuck up pixelated blocks to eat up so much memory? It's like mine craft. It seems possible but I guess I'll never know. Anyway I used Solar Stone to act as sources for "warmth" I might wanna try meteor stone though. It might seem like overkill but a blizzard's going on every other day and it's constantly snowing so it seems logical enough. I also took out my planter farm and moved it to Base #2 but that's still under refinement. I also tried to spruce up a few of the rooms to make the NPC's feel more at home such as the SteamPunker and Jew. I also remembered this game has peace candles after not playing it for months and thoroughly bathed my place in that shit. There's a reason I have Harpy banners everywhere in the chest room. Also the blue underneath the main cabin is accessed to through teleport and locks the whole place down while glowing blue thanks to the gemspark. Overall I have a long way to go. I'm going to have to figure out who should live in the other rooms in the main building from base 2. If anybody want's to offer advice feel free. Just make it practical and not retarded like faggots who build "spiral" staircases.

Did you build that island? I don't recall sky islands ever being nearly that big naturally.

Getting back to Wall of Flesh Expert strategies, I tried a whole bunch of new ones recently.

Beenades were far and away the best that I tried, I had no idea they were so good. I used Fossil Armor, Shark Tooth Necklace, Hive Pack, and about 60 Beenades stock (+ ammo conservation bonus). This is the only strategy that I have found which can actually kill the Wall of Flesh a tiny bit faster than my Demon Scythe strategy (at least with an Emerald Robe; scythe might work better with Ruby or Diamond but I didn't compare those). I'm very impressed.

Also tried regular grenades; they're really bad sadly, despite being so powerful, because their rate of fire is low.

Guns on the other hand are quite inferior. I tried Phoenix Blaster and Minishark with meteor shot and the Sandgun and they all require significantly longer runways than I'm accustomed to. I didn't get to test actually killing it, but I suspect the Minishark at least might have difficulty doing enough damage to kill it before it kills you when its on that last chunk of health where it speeds up faster than the player can run.

For kicks I also tried giving Jungle Armor a try again to see if I could find a use for it. Against the Wall of Flesh it's totally pointless; a robe and wizard hat give better damage and critical hit output while only having a slightly lower mana reduction bonus (which doesn't matter much when you're using a mana regeneration potion anyway). The only use I can see is adding the leggings with a robe and hat, but Meteor Leggings provide a greater damage boost which is more important than +4% critical hit.

Also tried a variety of bows with necro armor. I was surprised by Hellwing Bow's performance with wooden arrows, I didn't think it would be very good because its power is so low. With a wide open arena (i.e., not the narrow passage dug out of rock that I'm currently using for testing), I could see this performing quite well. The jury is still out on whether Bee's Knees is better or worse than Molten Fury.

Anybody got any other suggestions?

yea I got the clouds from a throw away level and made a fuck huge island with an ice core. jk I edited it in because fuck that tedious ass shit

Golden Shower and Bee gun with mana buff accessories with as many minions as I can spare is what I always do. Less DPS but you don't have to aim and can focus on movement.

Golden Shower is a hard mode spell, I think the point was to find the easiest way to enter hardmode, not kill the wall in the fasted possible way.

The fastest possible way to kill the wall that I've found is to make a catcher with blocks, then throw an enormous amount of dynamite into it. If you time it just right, you can kill the wall with just 10 dynamites.

That's right Ichor's hard mode. Eh I still use the Bee gun. It's just to fun to not use.

Have you tried using a minecart for speed?

Honestly movement isn't the biggest factor for Wall. The most important thing is killing the actual wall before you kill the hungry surrounding it, since his eye lazer speeds up once they are all dead. That or just constantly hitting face, leaving some hungry alive.
That's why I find using explosives, mostly dynamite, to kill it quickly while never actually seeing it die is what I prefer.
You could also set up a whole bunch of rigged explosives that you can find in caves, the only difficult thing being finding the traps and removing the explosives safely.

The absolute easiest way to clear the wall of flesh on expert is to use the hellwing bow, the one you find in the chests in hell.

Post cool builds.

I would love to be able to kill it with dynamite consistently but it seems like it requires a lot of finesse. The other issue is it destroys the runway, which is kind of annoying because I typically fight the wall 3 or more times in order to get several Emblems.

I've seen this demonstrated on video before but it seemed to require endgame armor in order to survive all the collisions. Unless you just mean using the cart to run away from the way. I think the slow acceleration is probably a problem (that would at least require a Cobalt Shield if it's even viable at all). Outside of a cart, you can instantly reach top speed when you need to with the Shield of Cthulu.

With wooden arrows, right?

Although once the wall is dead the first time you can go upgrade a ton of gear in hardmode before you fight it again. The question is can you upgrade enough before fighting a mechanical boss to be able to fight the wall again without needing a runway (which you blew up with dynamite)? I sometimes die re-fighting the wall in hardmode, so I dunno about that.

Yeah that's what I meant.
Well there are booster tracks.

You would have to apply booster tracks like ever half screen length (or denser) to be safe though.

I used to try fighting the Wall of Flesh on platforms instead of solid blocks and would get obliterated by the lower eye attacks. I imagine an effective cart strategy would probably need something solid beneath it for protection as well, which would make it require an even larger infrastructure setup than without.

If I hosted a dedicated server for the people in this thread to play on, what mods would you guys want it to use?

I never run mods on terraria..

I mean, I could do vanilla too. I had just been playing it with mods lately, since I've played vanilla over and over since the game first came out.

I personally don't play with mods either but Antiaris looks kind of neat.

I haven't played terraria with mods since those really weren't a thing back when 1.3 launched but I'd say simple quality of life mods are the best. If a mod adds new content, it should introduce new and cool ways to play the vanilla game rather than replacing the vanilla content. A quick google search and skimming some wiki pages tells me a mod like thorium would be the former while calamity is the latter.

Neither Calamity nor Thorium replace vanilla content, they both add content.

...

if you host a server if we can do everything by tommorow night work friday can stay up tonight but wont bumrush shit.
would be fucking nice light on the mods i guess something that extends the game but not by much

It looks pretty fun. No expert mode though fuck that.

...

None, my traitorous friends who introduced me to the game have still never played it to the finish with me and I've never even seen the final boss.

yee

You should probably look up the differences for expert mode before shitposting user.

Fun fact some mods that add bosses also add more attacks/forms for bosses when on expert mode.

Items drop more often as well so you can get that sweet ankh shield easier.

Yeah seriously, Expert is much more interesting. Werewolves probably have too much health though, that's a proper complaint on that at least.

Guys what did I do wrong? It won't work.

what?

...

Terraria is one of the few games I look at fan art for.
The sprites make it clear what something is, but they lack just enough detail that you can interpret what something looks like entirely differently.
Look at all the different interpretations of Truffle, for example.

You're missing a red keycard, and require additional pylons

what a gay

So I was thinking these mods for the server. Feel free to suggest others/dissuade some from the list.

AlchemistNPC
BossChecklist
Fargowiltas
LargeWorldEnabler
MagicStorage
RecipeBrowser
ThoriumMod
WeaponOut
WingSlot

Care to explain what you're trying to do?

Don't worry about it.

Does good terraria porn or lewd mods exist

Can't imagine there's any that are worth the effort.

You are missing the lava you retard.
Also

Cool bug I found that people already know. Honey+unbreakable blocks=water drain
There might be more uses to this.

I have no clue what I'm doing

Not sure how I feel about underground bases. I'm afraid of wraiths fucking with me later on

...

Pink candle's help on that front but yea underground bases have their issues.

Thoughts?

fuck me forgot to post vid

Why is it so dark. Terrible way to show off a trailer.

I tried it out, and its interesting, at least in early game. Spent most of it dying to wildfires caused by misplacing torches underneath ropes/platforms/vines/foliage.I had to tweak the camera settings because the constant panning camera was making me sick. The whole tool durability seems frustrating though, so I turned it off, but I'm not sure how that plays out in the long run.

Maybe you should try turning it off and on again?

The only good thing that came out of this is the realistic falling. Everything else is pretty gimmicky and dumb especially late game when you have wings. The wildfires are pretty cool though I guess.

Sounds like an absolutely terrible idea.

Whelp I know where this mod belongs.

I did it.
I saved the jungle.

...

It took some fiddling, but I got a server up and running. It's modded, so you need tModLoader, and the following mods, or your game will just crash to desktop.

"BossChecklist",
"Fargowiltas",
"RecipeBrowser",
"MagicStorage",
"WingSlot",
"AlchemistNPC",
"HEROsMod",
"WeaponOut",
"CalamityMod",
"CalamityAddon",
"ThoriumMod"

Again, any suggestions for mods or removal of mods is welcome. (Though that might mean having to make a new world.) But as of right now, the server is up and running, and barring a crash, will be up 24/7

The IP is 144.217.10.108, the port is 7847

Only rules I ask you to follow is use a new character, and no pointlessly destructive vandalism. Also just as a courtesy to others, don't rush into hardmode until others are more or less ready.
Other than that, the game will be in Expert/Revengeance Mode.

You can really easily make a cart track to kill him. Making a cart track that spans the entire map with bumpers on each end makes the mechanical bosses a cakewalk. Because they've got increased placement speed you can sip a builder's potion and place track while you're moving in the cart- you can set track at your movespeed up to 16 mph and just hold your mouse down while AFK.
Make an iron cart and you can outpace the wall of flesh until the very very end of his low life rush. Super easy.

Have you tried getting good?

I guess having 2 big content mods means more variety of resources, which means people can get Y gear instead of X gear if there's no X crafting material available. I'll check it out, but only for a bit today because time zones.

It's an absolute crime that pearlwood isn't available earlier in the game.

I just tried this, how the fuck are you supposed to dodge eye lasers while on a cart? I got disintegrated.

Yeah I don't see how this would work either. I think the just make a giant platform trail through hell method is better

Yoyo. Preferably with the accessories. Just hold it in his face for a safe, fast and easy kill.

The new jungle is superior to the old jungle anyway.

Tried that before with some string, a counterweight, and a Cascade before. Didn't work well at all, the Hungry are overwhelming and the Cascade just doesn't have long enough reach.

New jungle?

See

Wow fuck this game. Every time I think I've learned my lesson not to spelunk without a Dangersense potion or wire-seeing accessory I get overconfident and obliterate myself on a trap.

It's dead Jim. You killed it.

Glad I haven't been left too far behind by timezones, some good chests left unfound for me to loot, and I found the goblin tinkerer, so people can start upgrading their hermes boots

How in the goddamned fuck do I get Pinky to spawn with Calamity + Thorium? I've killed well over 1500 slimes and never seen the bastard. I want to kill one before advancing since it's a Tracker quest and it's probably going to be even harder to find in hardmode.

Even in vanilla, you can go an entire playthrough and never see it.

Getting "Invalid operation at this state" when I try to join.
Also what bosses are down?

I just got into this the other day. I've beaten all the pre-Hardmode bosses except Wall of Flesh, haven't explored much of the map yet as I foolishly selected medium world for a solo game. How aggressively does the Hallow and Corruption/Crimson spread in hardmode? Do I need to jump on it with the Cleantamaminator as soon as possible or is it not too ridiculous?

Also I assume the Hornet Staff + Bee Armor drop off soon? They seem to be ridiculously strong at the moment as I can just do stuff while letting the Hornets murder everything that approaches me. Bee Gun is pretty damn strong too.

Why would you play this ancient game when Starbound is objectively better?

Something does seem fucky. the login system isn't working properly, but I don't know how it works. I wasn't there for it, but as far as I know only eye is down, definitely not farther than eater.

It depends on where they are. if they're near the jungle or even overlapping it parts of the jungle are going to disappear (hallow doesn't do this though). Also, unless you do a lot of fishing, accessing the hardmode ores means placing random blocks of hallow/corruption in the world

There was a modded server a few months back that had this problem too, if I recall correctly, HERO'S MOD was the problem.

Now something really strange is going on. I keep joining an empty server, chat doesn't work, noting spawns not even objects when you break them, and the game thinks I'm a mod.

It's the HERO's mod that is causing all that suffering.
Remove it right now.

Sorry, but I'm not the server host, just another sufferer. I might have more time to play in about an hour or two, hopefully this is fixed by then

I forgot all about that guy.

The only thing I know of HERO is pic and his broken mod. Anyone want to tell me what his deal is?

To be honest, all I remember is there was a long ass video of him throwing a shitfit while pacing around in Terraria which ended with him crying.

...

He's a (former?) Terraria youtuber that always wore the Link outfit and is famous for the other Terraria wiki. He had a complete fucking meltdown during the release of 1.3 where he, along with one or two other people, were given the release early to stream as a preview.

I don't think I've ever seen someone give there side of the story and come off as badly as this before.
So, is anyone actually in the server?

Server admin here. Of course as soon as I leave for work, everything goes to shit.
If HEROsMod is causing issues, I'll just remove it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I only used HEROsMod because it was the only administration tool I could find compatible with tModLoader.
I guess I'll have to rely on people just telling me if they see something fucky.

The server is back up and working. Be sure to delete/disable HEROsMod before logging back in.

Right thanks.

Not an argument :^)

Sounds like it takes away more from the base game than it adds.

Didn't we establish that was the mod fucking things up last time?

I wasn't there last time. so I didn't know. It's no longer being used on the server now.

Alright, how wide do anti-spread hellevators need to be? I'm getting differing figures, mostly 3,4 or 6, and also 5 with bricks on the first and fifth with a 3 gap in the middle.

As far as I understand it only needs to be 3 BUT those thorn things can potentially grow over the gap and spread it that way, in which case it would just need to be widened at the top and anywhere else grass could grow or have any dirt near the gap replaced with stone?

I'll probably just do this in a map editor once I hit hard mode as I can't be biffed mining with a shitty slow pickaxe and if I wait to get a better one that shit will spread. I made a 3 wide round my pre-hardmode corruption because I needed stone and it wasn't too bad but mining all the way to hell at this pace would be mind numbing and i'd lose more ground to spread before it was complete anyway

What did HERO have a breakdown over? It's been a few years so I don't really remember.

He got early access to the massive 1.3 update so he could stream it, his stream turned to shit quickly because he stalled for an hour to get more viewers, stopped every half hour to put ending and opening introductions to break up the stream into videos for his youtube channel, purposefully played horrendously in order to drag the video on longer, cursed out a viewer for donating (with an encouraging message) during the stream and it got so bad, and everyone got so pissed at him, that Terraria's dev retracted permission for him to stream the unreleased version.

He then did a youtube video sperging out over it at length, before breaking down in tears while saying he's awesome.

I remember there was also something about him having a breakdown because he thought one of the other streamers who got early access to 1.3 was a close friend for some reason, but it turned out that guy didn't actually like him. Or something like that. He ranted for over an hour about so much random shit. Here's a highlight reel. It's missing one of the best lines, though;

Whew, think that's a new record to fight the Wall of Flesh for me. Fishing for some speed boots and grinding out a Demon Scythe took a significant chunk of time on this one. I'd say those two things probably added an extra hour to preparation time.

pls respond

I just figured out how to cheese the fucking saucers.
Hwee are zo happy.

4-5, just come by them every now and then to make sure shits not growing
I'd say make some non-corruptible material is used for the walls

terraria.gamepedia.com/Guide:Maintaining_world_purity

Yes, I know, but other sources gave differing figures and i'd rather keep them narrow as possible.

Thanks friendo.

Is melee hardcore even possible?
At least earlier before and post wall, I feel like the only thing that saves me from dying so many times is Cthulhu's shield because of the iframes it gives when charging forward with it.
Even then, when comparing my damage against my friends who are either ranged or magic, it all feels so useless to try and progress without using yoyo's, which my friends all pretty much say is the only viable way to play hardcore melee.

What other weapons or trinkets are there that can help out?

I am thoroughly amused by these events.

I can't reliably beat the towers on expert without resorting to scummy shit.
What am i doing wrong?

Expert is meant for people really good at the game, if you're having issues you're just not good enough.

I'd love for this to make it into the proper version of the game.

There's probably a mod for it.

XD

user, I'm not shitposting. I'm not saying your bad, I'm saying expert mode is tough and most issues you'll have with it will stem from the fact it's meant to be tough.
You didn't even tell us what items you were using so if you want a more detailed answer you should post your setup.

Isnt that the whole point?

To be fair skill has nothing to do with it. I play expert all the time and all you have to do is find the right build. After that you're usually not doing anything much in the way of actual combat skill and you're more just holding M1 while making a few easy evasive maneuvers.

If you find the enchanted sword and focus on yo-yos later on I think so.
Yo-yos are basically the cheat weapon anyway, plus you end up getting the vampire knives for survivability.

But there is bunny hopping in the base game too.
The frog legs.

...

i've had this game in my library for years and i don't know what the fuck i'm supposed to do in it. what is the appeal here, besides cool pixel block castles? cause i can do all this shit in minecraft.

more variety and depth + modability

...

...

Giving extra damage to attacks you do while moving towards enemy sounds cool, but if it's made requirement for dealing significant damage, then it won't work.

Reminds me of EU4 where only coastal provinces provide you with sailors. This results in relatively common situation where mostly landlocked nation is able to wield tens of thousands of troops with tens of thousands in reserves but struggling to recruit 100 sailors for their navy.

There's literal bunny hopping in the mobile version.

I did eventually get it when I remembered that Zerg potions exist. Spawn cap raised to 50 + 10 spawns a second will get you any rare enemy you need.
And anyone who's playing Thorium should try out the post-Plantera throwing set (Shade Master). The free teleports are hilariously broken and let me survive Pumpkin Moon wave 15 first try.

so how do i mod my game and what would be great for a solo or muti player playthrough.

im looking at overhaul thorium and calamity any others? basically a way to extend the progression process a by a lot.

...

Yeah, that was the other thing mentioned.
I guess it really is just torture to try and play melee any other way considering how limited your defensive options are. If shields were proper equipment and not just a trinket I bet they could make some form of defensive option for melee combat other than making all their endgame weapons have ranged attacks…

THIS IS NOT OKAY!

I'm probably too late to join this match and going by how long it's been up compared to my SP game I'm too fucking slow anyway but is Terraria forgiving of high ping or will I have a bad time trying to connect to burger servers from bumfuck nowhere?

They might do some tweaking in future, balance changes are mentioned for 1.3.6. The fact Yoyos simultaneously have the greatest versatility and range on top of the highest damage after getting the Yoyo Bag is a pretty glaring balance issue.

Since the server is now in hardmode, I moved the witch doctor to the jungle for easy access to wings.

Goddamn Mothron can kick your shit in before you even know what happened.

cyka blyat comrades…

terraria.gamepedia.com/Shield_of_Cthulhu

Whew, now that's a fast trip to hardmode. I have very few crates to open up once it starts though.

Is there any way to get tmodloader working on GOG versions of 1.3.5.3? For some stupid reason the developers don't release a GOG version (which as far as I'm aware would just involve stripping SteamAPI calls out of the executable), and instead some other guy deals with GOG builds but it's lagging behind at 1.3.4.4.

Couldn't you shave a good amount of time off by not making the Molten Set?

And replace it with what? I fight the wall of flesh itself with a robe and hat, but I feel like the armor is super important for surviving most other enemy encounters.

Fair enough, I guess if you're blitzing it you can't reliably obtain any accessories with a good defense bonus without losing time.

I usually do a bit of reforging once I get the Goblin Tinkerer. Get a Warding Shield of Cthulu at the very least. A Mythical Demon Scythe is also cheap to get and very nice. You are making me wonder if skipping the Goblin Tinkerer may actually be worth doing however.

… Although fighting a goblin invasion in hardmode is something I typically try to avoid. Would be quite a long time to go without a Tinkerer's Workshop before I felt strong enough to summon a goblin invasion in hardmode.

I have become FAST.

...

Just got myself a laptop so no reaction image for either of us.

I recognize that tune. 1:00

Has anyone ever actually completed the Mining armor set? I've played through Expert to hardmode shitloads of times. In all my playthroughs, I've only seen the Mining Shirt drop maybe once or twice, and I've never seen Mining Pants.

And with that I am never doing an expert Terraria run ever again.
All that's left is to farm the Golem for costumes.
Fuck me.

But you have to do it on Hardcore Ironman now.

overhaul calamity and throium are in what is the progression for this

I have officially reached the point in my Terraria career that I just want to build comfy structures.

Never speak to me or my family again.

I actually did once. I had to grind it out with a lava trap though. It took forever.

I'm never going to see that Nymph banner am I?

With only vanilla methods? Yeah, it'll take forever. Even with Calamity's Zerg potions it's far from fast. If you think Nymph is bad though, Rune Wizard is 10x worse. Nymphs actually don't spawn nearly as rarely as you might think, but people often miss them since they don't attack or move towards you by default.

Holy fucking shit…?!

archive.fo/Ym2fW

...

What is the higest dps/damage build right now?

At a guess, Terrarian with a yoyo bag. High attack speed, billions of extra projectiles and a second free yoyo with more projectiles.

Don't know who that is but that sucks, memory and vision are two things I wouldn't be able to live without.

pretty much the first terraria lets play get ur knowledge from early in the terraria days

Yeah, only Terraria youtuber I ever watched was Yrimir.

...

Will this react to what biome you're in now? That would be handy.

Still no banner but I did get some mining pants.

I don't know but I suspect not unless there is going to be a steampunk biome. Which would be great.

Final boss of Thorium was disappointing. No sense of scale or flashy attacks, just flying around in circles for 20 minutes avoiding the projectile vomit until you do 900k damage or whatever.

Apparently that's something the mod dev addressed, and is working on.

So just like the Moonlord then.

Moonlord was harder and less of a damage sponge.
The same could be said for any endgame boss. It's naturally what the game's going to degenerate into when players have far too much mobility. If there's one way I see mods fucking up the power curve really badly it's by giving you pre-hardmode wings, or shit like the Cryonic ore wings from Calamity which you can get before any hardmode bosses and are better than ALL the wings in vanilla. Movement is the core of the game so removing limitations on it messes with fighting way too much.

Really there's never going to be such thing as a "fair and engaging" boss in Terraria. You're given to many tools and mechanics to cheese them. But if I had to make a small list of things to check off to reduce the cheese effect (and some of the fun as a result) then I would do a few simple things such as
Honestly once you get the UFO mount it's fucking gg. At the very least I'de like to see some better looking mounts to add to vanity autists.
OR
Either way combat in Terraria isn't exactly it's strongest asset. I'de argue every mechanic in Terraria isn't very strong tbh. It just gives you all of them and tells you to have fun.

I have begun collecting metal detectors in a chest to keep track of how many I've killed.
I was a fool for not doing this all along.

I want everyone to look at this fucking bullshit. 50 kills for rare mobs is too much by far.

Some cool inter-mod synergy.

What a load.

...

...

What happened in these images?

Blood Moon right after party time, then this giant mechanical nigger from the Tremor mod phases through the ground and gibs my tavernkeep.

Killed Devourer of Gods last night evidenced by the items in my last post which means there are only two "normal" bosses left in Calamity. In general the boss design is very good, but the experience is still unsatisfying.
What a postgame mod needs is a totally new set of basic enemies and biomes tailored to be a initial challenge just like hardmode does, so that the player needs to pay attention to their environment again and has a proper sense of progression by overcoming that and then bosses. Instead, Calamity leaves the world alone and focuses on buffing event enemies to absurd levels. This doesn't work very well since it doesn't matter if there are 30 Pumpkings with 550k health each onscreen at once, you can still kite them all indefinitely. They fundamentally weren't designed to deal with the abilities you have at this point (pic related: they drop 10-20 of this each).
Instead of trying to maintain the point where you need to use all the mechanics and the game is most engaging, Calamity wants to accelerate you through it into an endgame that doesn't feel any more connected to the world than a normal post-Moon Man one. I guess I learned that in this case, more gradual progression > exaggerated scale.

Were you playing in Revengeance mode? Because I am, and it's fucking miserable, and the mode exclusive drops aren't worth it at all.

Coming along. I finally got cactus man's outfit.

No, haven't tried Revengeance. I was thinking about it but if it's just retard hard with no payoff then I won't bother.

Attempted Yharon many times now. He's less frustrating than DoG if only because I have no idea what I'm supposed to do besides get hit less. He's basically a mega Fishron with more complicated patterns.

I just want to be able to pick up the chicken.

What's the 5th row? I've farmed bosses for weeks and haven't seen that one.

It adds a stress mechanic, which makes stressful situations fill a stress bar, which gradually starts debuffing you the higher it gets, and gives a constant Moonlord-screenblur effect when its too high.

It also gives you a 5% damage boost, but take 20% more damage in turn. Also changes boss AI slightly, buffing their damage output and hitpoints. I've been playing as a melee class, and most bosses hit so hard they two shot you, or one shot you if you're unlucky.

It feels like no matter what weapon or armor you get, nothing gets easier.

Ahrkalis set

Golem fighting is the best way to farm for dev outfits. In just a couple of days I've managed to get all but 3. I got Red's just a couple of hours ago.
Here's the current version of my power cell farm.

It's done. Now I just have to do it enough times to get his armor set.

I've got everything but the bear costume now.

I offered a few times in a few different threads to host a dedicated server with a couple mods, but no one ever replies.

Oh god Normal mode is so boring. How can people not play Expert mode?

I sure do love this affixes mod.

Huh, I guess a pyramid can form literally anywhere there's sand?

Yes.
Sometimes you can get pyramid in mini-sand biome.
Some user here had pyramid spawning on sand just ten blocks before tundra.

I still say they should make pyramids full structures with their own mini biome instead of just loot houses.

Deserts should have more going on in them in general. The antlion lair should have a boss or something.

This shit is getting ridiculous.

man all these bard/healer gear would be awesome with a party to bad im playing alone.

should i get spirit mod to add to my mess of idk what im going for thorium and calamity mod plus overhaul

Good post, from the sounds of it I'll pass on Calamity and just play Thorium after my vanilla expert run, your description of Calamity doesn't really appeal to me but as far as I can tell from browsing the Thorium Wiki it's a pretty fleshed out mod that adds stuff everywhere. Are there any other worthwhile mods besides utility/QOL mods like recipe browser, 9999 stacks, etc? Though if anyone knows of some other QOL mods worth grabbing I'm all ears.

Can't use mods until the tmodloader team puts out a GOG version so I'm just compiling a list of mods to slap together for a run I'll do once it's up.

IMO Meteorites should be set to always land in deserts, it can be annoying if they land elsewhere but the meteorite landing in the desert isn't really an issue, and on Thorium it adds a bunch of Meteorite enemies to the place as well. As it is they seem to land in deserts 90% of the time anyway as the algorithm that places it avoids water and prefers solid areas without caves.

The algorithm is designed to avoid not just water, but NPCs, chests, and sunplate blocks.

I would love if something like this made it into the base game.

Now this is just stupid.

My only serious gripe with Calamity is how it fucks with the power curve (especially in early hardmode) because it's trying to gear you for its own content. It also allows very easy crafting of Clouds/Balloons which doesn't help on that front either. A lot of it is good, but it is obviously a mod and not a pure extension. Thorium is the vanilla+ fan expansion, Calamity is the edgy reimagining.
As for QOL mods, try Solutions and Magic Storage. The latter is slightly clunky, but not having to deal with chests is a godsend.

Is that just some fan/concept art? The meteorite biome being expanded could add some variety. Though I'm not sure how it would be handled, another spreading Biome would just be a pain in the ass. A possible compromise could be that it will spread but has an upper limit for total converted blocks so that you end up with a decent meteorite biome but it doesn't threaten to pozz the place up like HC&C.

On the subject of issues with the power curve, are there any mods that try to iron out some of the imbalance in pre-hardmode? There are a fair few downright broken items. The Falcon Blade for example can be obtained really early by fishing and is easily in the top 4 for pre-hardmode swords. The only other ones you might consider upgrading to being the Beekeeper, Enchanted Sword or Arkhalis, and the latter two are so rare you might as well consider Falcon to be one of the top two. It's particularly strong as if you give it a Legendary modifier it has a nice sweetspot of knockback and speed where most ground mobs will be juggled in front of you as you advance, unable to hit you or escape. The Arkhalis is even more broken I guess but it's not really an issue since it's so unlikely to find one.

Yeah it's a fan suggestion on the forum.
That was sort of the idea. The suggestion was that it would only spread 50 to 100 blocks away from the nearest meteorite piece and if all the meteorite was mined out it would slowly de-convert. Which is handy.

This is another biome suggestion that I really love. We NEED some more asian themed stuff. Bamboo plants at the very least.

I would prefer that they add corruption and crimson jungle biomes already.

I don't think anybody cares too much about pre-hardmode anything because it's only like the first 20% of the game. It's basically the tutorial for the real game.

I don't remember the cloud waifu looking like that.

That's arguably a problem in and of itself.

If you want balance, don't get Kalciphoz's RPG Mod.
4 hours in and I have 500 health and a teleport spell, it adds way too many weapon drops so you'll be swimming in gold, ammo and enchanted weapons.

May as well share my thoughts on thorium and calamity mods now that I've played them. Thorium gives a lot of options for weapons (like crafting guns directly from hardmode ores) and shows a lot of love for underused playstyles (throwing gets armour sets for every part of the vanilla game up to luminite and has a helmet for the melee set of thorium's postgame armour). Some of it is definitely redundant (valadium and lodestone ores are basically just for post-mech, pre-plantera, illumite not really worth mining because it's unlocked the same time as chlorophyte). If you're running any kind of content mods, you may as well throw in thorium to flesh out the vanilla game up to and a bit after moonlord.
Calamity is pretty good in pre-hardmode with the bosses it adds. The early part of hardmode is definitely easier, especially with the gear slime god drops in pre-hardmode. I like how the mod fleshed out the underworld, even if only a little, with a mini-biome at the edges of the world and some new enemies (but only one boss that's basically just an annoying progression wall with no real drops of its own). The crazy powerful post-moonlord gear is kind of fun, but my favourite part of the post-moonlord content would have to be the plague boss and related items. It fits the jungle perfectly and the gear is good for fighting the celestial pillars/ML a bit easier the second time around. The other post-ML bosses are quite hard, considering the actually crazy gear is locked behind beating almost all of them, but I guess it is supposed to be THE DARK SOULS OF MODS with its edge and even-higher-than-expert difficulty. Last minor complaint with the mod is that the last armour sets are just overall stat boosts and aren't split into multiple classes, so every post-game character is only different by the weapon they use most.
One last thing I noticed, maybe even the most important: Thorium's sprites are simple, with black outlines. They fit the artstyle of the game well. Calamity mod sprites have more washed-out colours and coloured outlines. This is most noticable on the post-game weapons, which are even larger than players are too.

I feel like RPG elements would be good combined with enemy buffs like in and adjustments to all the vanilla bosses, so the game would basically be a diablo clone with lots of trash mobs, some minibosses, and damage sponge bosses to finish it off.

In my experience playing through Calamity was fine up until near the end, but it really can't be stressed enough that it trivializes nearly everything from vanilla or more balanced mods all throughout progression, as well as eventually anything that isn't named Supreme Calamitas (which is bullshit for its own set of reasons). I'm glad I did seperate playthroughs for Calamity and Thorium+Spirit, because it wouldn't have played nice with anything else. Ultimately when I did either playthough I didn't care about vanilla or balance any more, after already putting hundreds of hours into the game. Any one else bored to death of usual progression will probably enjoy themselves the same way.

This is a pretty decent break-down, but I feel like I should point out that the Plaguebringer Goliath is post-Golem, rather than post-ML, which is why you're noting it was very easy compared to the other Calamity post-ML bosses.

Add to that the mechanics of chlorophyte spread except on surface level and I think the biome would contain itself quite well.

To the user asking about the mining set, I just got a shirt and helmet off the same miner just a moment ago and I got the bone pick about 20 minutes ago. It's easier to do in pre-hardmode.

Jesus fuck user favorite your favorite shit and cut the fat. Why would you need that many weapons?

Is the set effect of Titanium Armor good or not really? It doesn't seem too impressive based on the description, 2 seconds of invuln every 30 seconds doesn't seem significant enough that it's worth using compared to Adamantite's attack and movement speed buffs.

Dynamite

Kinda. I'de argue it's great for bosses as that 2 seconds can do well to deal a bit more dps. If you're going for that armor just do what I do and judge the actual armor rating first compared to other armors. The additional perk might just be a little extra. It is early hard mode armor keep in mind. There's certainly better armors you can farm for at this point. But crafting that armor now might ease that farming.

Multiple weapons is often due to some having significantly different functions that work better in specific situations more than others.

I like variety. You ought to see how I've got my chests in my current world is organized.

It's pretty great. Personally though I prefer the Orichalcum set bonus though.

For what? If you're in a specific situation just prepare for it by putting the weapons you need in the piggy bank. Then just swap what you need with the trough.

I guess I don't care. But you're only making shit harder for yourself. Mostly buy not favoriting so you don't delete anything important while making quick stacking more efficient in some situations. Honestly if you have the need of using mutliple weapons. Put them in your money trough and then pull them out when that need comes. I can't imagine that you need to use every one of those weapons every 10 or so minutes.

I never use shift click and I rarely quick stack. I sort of have my own system. Sort of.
Money trough is full.

Your loss tbh. There's nothing wrong with either. Once you move past drag and drop the tedium in inventory management is cut down immensely. Other than that your trough is full of such useless shit. If you have the UFO why bother with the ninja gear? Why have 1 bucket of every liquid? Why not replace the water bucket with infinite water bucket? Why have gold in the safe instead of platinum? Is it really that much of a loss if you lose 80 gold in hard mode? Also there's plenty of these items that would go better in a safe such as the summon events considering that if you're going to trigger one you're well prepared anyway. Your piggy bank inventory should primary be for items that you want to get quickly without much hassle due to the trough.

all i've ever done in this game is create drainage pipes. my goal is to consolidate all the above-ground water in the world into one central underground lake
i have 170 hours logged just digging pipes
i have standardized systems, patterns and procedures i use for my pipes.
i probably have the autims
i've heard other people talking about their pipes before so I know this isn't too unique, though

You could always just use world edit?

Curious how much effort people normally put into mining once hardmode is unlocked. I have never actually gone through the full progression of ores to titanium/adamantite. It takes too long and feels too dangerous. I always just fish a shitload of crates and then make some Frost Armor when the opportunity arises. Once I get a Daedalus Stormbow and a Nimbus Cloud I feel pretty comfortable killing the Destroyer… And once I can kill the Destroyer a few times I can immediately upgrade to Hallowed Armor. So, how much worth is it really to bother at all with those six initial hardmode ores? How much effort does user usually put into that?

I've used an adamantite/titanium repeater and armor before, that's about it. There have been several worlds where I never even broke any altars, since it can be an annoyance to have random patches of corruption/hallow to deal with later on.

Magic Storage is great, do you know how much space this saves me that was wasted on chests?
quite a bit actually.

Yep, that's what I do. I almost never break altars. It's nice having one less random daily even to not have to worry about and summoning the mechanical bosses on your own terms instead of needing to hide underground when you get a spooky feeling because you're not ready for them yet.

I tried going through the ore progression in my last playthrough and got careless and died in Palladium armor.

one less random daily event* (no pirate invasions)

Since the introduction of fishing I completely skip mining the early hardmode ores, with the exception of this last playthrough. I don't even break alters anymore. Obviously I still have to mine chlorophyte but that's all the mining I do in hardmode. I sort of wish there was some side progression at the chlorophyte stage so I wasn't compelled to mine it every time. I guess Technically there is with Spookywood Armor but good luck taking down the Moonlord with that even in non expert worlds.
There Really feels like there needs to be some Martian armor or something.

Strategies for early Expert Queen Bee? Or simply fighting it in general I guess. It drops some pretty useful stuff but I always feel like I'm not ready to fight it until I'm strong enough to defeat Skeletron, at which point its loot isn't quite so useful and I don't even bother.

Heart lantern + campfire and make use of the honey buff and use all the potions you can make. Arguably you should just make a small artificial jungle on the surface neat your home and use her summoning item rather than fighting her in the hives. If you're lucky enough to find a bezoar equip that to deal with the poison. You could even sneak down to hell and get just enough hellstone to make an imp staff.
I've actually found expert Queen Bee to be in many ways easier than the normal mode version since expert randomizes her attack patterns. Which means if you have a lucky fight she can get stuck in an easy to deal with attack mode for an extended period of time.

whats magic storage?

google it

Yeah, good idea. We nearly discussed video games on Holla Forums.
Close call.

I'm so used to summoning pirates with maps I had completely forgotten having an altar broken allows them to trigger randomly.

Fighting her in the hives is a bad idea like someone else said, she'll spend a lot of time in blocks and the honey can be a hindrance. An arena on the surface is definitely best. Don't worry too much about attacking during her ramming phases, just focus on movement.

I usually fight the Queen Bee in its hive making use of campfire + dips in honey and end up close to death with 400 health near the end. I have great difficulty dodging the stings and without a Bezoar it only takes one hit to fuck your shit up. I'm wondering if there is a smarter way to fight it.

forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/magic-storage.56294/
Lets you maximize storage while minimizing physical space needed for it.

Main thing is to fight her at the surface using an Abeemination, most hives are simply too small and don't give you enough breathing room to dodge things. If you find a big, relatively vertical one then it might work so go for it, but surface is the most reliable spot.

If you got hit by a goblin invasion already dropping a bunch of spike balls on platforms is good since she'll ram through them during the charging phase, so it's free damage when you're otherwise mostly unable to hit her much. Frostburn Arrows are also a great idea to keep the damage going, even if you're not big on ranged, 8 damage per second adds up over a 5-10 minute fight if you keep it up for a good chunk of the time. The time you want to attack most is when she's spawning Bees, if you have a good (ideally fast) melee weapon you should jump up and start swinging, this will shred the bees before they can damage you, probably heal you up thanks to the hearts they drop and you should take relatively little damage. If you dropped it from Gobbos a Harpoon works pretty well as well, its fire rate is only capped by the return of the projectile so if you can get close it has some pretty gnarly damage output.

If you have all the buffs i mentioned up you don't really need to worry about poison in the spines phase so you can try to hit her rather than focusing entirely on dodging, but really since the fight has no time limit you might as well take it slow and just focus on not dying.

Besides that set up Campfire+Heart Lantern+Honey Bath+Sunflowers in the arena you build for those tasty buffs. You might want to pass on the Heart Lantern if you don't already have 400HP but it's up to you. I usually just make one from the first heart I find, if you make lots of Spelunker potions and keep the buff active while exploring underground you'll find tons of them anyway.

Don't ask stupid questions.

Only thing that can be frustrating about this sometimes is getting enough titanium or adamantite ore to upgrade your furnace in order to smelt chlorophyte.

I suggest just editing your world in TEdit to get rid of the random HC&C. In its current state where it can completely ruin your jungle and be impossible to fix it can be considered an incomplete game mechanic. At the moment once I enter Hardmode I remove the two diagonal stripes and place a big band of Hallow/Corruption where I want them. Away from the jungle and usually overlapping Desert/Underground desert for the unique mobs, then make a wall down each side from grey brick with gaps in any tunnels I see.

You'll need to use terrafirma to locate the randomly placed hallowed/corrupted blocks, as TEdit doesn't have a search function. One thing to remember is it can only effect stone blocks, so you only need to search for Pearlstone and Ebonstone/Crimstone, and it only occurs in the cavern layer.

If you're worried about spoiling the map for yourself it isn't really an issue, if you just focus on setting up your map you'll forget where anything was. I'm trying to locate a Granite Biome manually at the moment even though I saw tons of them while editing.

You can pretty safely get enough ore by Mining along the top of the underworld, you only have to contend with the pre-hardmode mobs and Mimics+Tortured souls. There's always plenty of it, and you can usually get enough Titanium/Adamantite for a set and a weapon or two in about an hour or two of mining. Note that I always break 6 altars, you might have a harder time if you only break 3.

I usually fish at least enough to make an Adamant/Titanium repeater then make a bunch of Holy Arrows to deal with the pirates. If you have half decent armor and stack some potions you can go on strafing runs bombarding them with holy arrows and thin them out pretty fast. Another method is if you have a house that's suspended off the ground (which is a good idea to keep Wraiths/Reapers out) the pirates will probably mob under your house. Make some platforms on the right side of your house, place a boulder on them then whack it with a pickaxe, it will fall then roll left and deal a shitload of damage to all the pirates under your house. Boulders are pretty effective weapons even to carry around while exploring, they completely mince things if they can roll far enough.

The one obnoxious thing about the pirate invasion though is that the Flying Dutchman can spawn 3+ times if you're unlucky. So i guess wanting to avoid it occurring randomly is understandable. Though at least it's easy to cheese.

So I thought I'd just let the water flow freely in my hellshaft because I wanted some extra water for lava pools so I don't need to fart around making my own obsidian. Does water simply not drain when it because too many screens tall? Because the top of the water column has been going absolutely nowhere for a while now. Why bother emptying an ocean when you can make an infinite water source any old place?

At some point (probably dependent on your system specs) the game will simply stop bothering to try settling liquids in real time when there's too much going on. In most cases, it'll re-settle everything all at once after some delay. Or maybe in extreme cases it won't happen until you reload the world, dunno.

fml

I just opened almost 300 treasure bags and I still did not get the goddamned Skiphs outfit. Is there a Terraria inventory edit tool because I'm done with this fucking shit. Oh and tedit just will not launch on my computer so that's a good fucking bonus to this shitshow.

First time building something to look nice rather than hold as many NPCs as possible.

yal.cc/r/terrasavr/

Very nice.
Also that link helped immensely.

It's shit

no u

...

I wish they would implement actual spiral stairs as a furniture item that actually functioned appropriately. Ladders and elevators too. And angled rope.

I agree you're shit.

I want to get cool Terraria mods.
How?

By installing tModLoader on Terraria forums and then installing mods that you want.
Just make copy of your vanilla game exe. or entire catalog somewhere else.

Pocket mirror brah.

Check out Terracustom, it doesn't require tmodloader but lets you set mapgen parameters, you can make a world with corruption and crimson, make a really hilly one, make on with shitloads of caves, a billion Sky Islands, etc.

Would it let you make a full desert world?

You could give it a shot by disabling other biomes and maximizing Beach size. Its options are pretty limited but it can do a fair bit seemingly, one map I made had an ocean high enough to spawn harpies and a neat snow biome that was really mountainous.

I'll stick to my vanilla world at the moment but I'm probably going to autismally try and generate a perfect world to play in for a future modded playthrough.

F A S T

Wasted about 30 minutes finding a Demon Scythe, those were some stingy demons. Never touched the underground jungle even once.

Solutions mod.

If you're just rushing WoF and not going to hardmode you can beat him in like 30 minutes by massing bombs, grenades and dynamite, digging to hell with bombs, using grenades to fend off mobs, then dumping Dynamite on the WoF.

If you get lucky with a Pinky you can make molotovs too.

I've considered the dynamite strategy before, but I'm still a little shaky on pulling it consistently, and don't like that it destroys my walkway. I like the fight the wall more than once to get multiple emblems. Plus with that kind of preparation (or lack thereof) I think I would die very quickly in hardmode. I still do as is–I died about 30 minutes after that screenshot because I bumped into a Ichor Sticker while descending my hellshaft. Those fuckers will kill you fast, was dead before I even realized what happened.

I should also say that I'm starting to really not appreciate how this game gives an advantage to people with wider screens than I have (I use the Lord's aspect ratio of 5:4). That's a real fucking bullshit design issue.

By which I mean people with more screen to their left and right can actually see what is happening when trying to dynamite the wall of flesh. All I can do is guess.

Not a perfect solution but could you try letterboxing the game to get a wider view?

Have you ever thought about boulders for fighting the WoF?

How would you use them?

Sort of like this but with more boulders and a longer runway.

Haven't played since the Moonman patch (just as well I never got past the mech bosses). Haven't played in a year or more because my PC died, but I'm happy my craptop runs it just fine.

Started a new medium world and landed in an arctic biome, so it seems kinda comfy again

Did you just edit it in for building convenience?

Nigger, it's the building grid in the UI options

Looking comfy user.
Here's some inspiration for you. Maybe you can adapt some of it.

Gosh

Shit that's nice. I was wondering if you could do it without wires and switches.

Do you mean without actuating at all or just without having to wire it up because we do have an actuator rod now.

Without doing any of that shit because that would require putting in extra time to fight Skeletron and get the Mechanic. That lava platform break timer is a nice trick.

You technically don't have to actuate. He does it to make the honey platforms and the sunplate blocks match with the rest of the brown when he paints them. Depending on your block, wall, and paint choices you might not need to actuate anything.
Personally I wouldn't see anything wrong with bringing in a grand design and a stack of wire and actuators in from another world for a new playthrough. It doesn't give you any gameplay benefit.

lolwut Grand Design is one of the biggest power advancements in the whole game. No longer needing to slowly spelunk with a trap in hand or constantly drink Dangersense potions because you can spot traps a mile away is a major change in the gameplay. Another very useful thing it lets you do is setup two spawn points once you have a Tinkerer's Workship. Finally you can devise all sorts of powerful traps of your own of course. Attaining the Mechanic and wire usage is one of the most important advancement points in the whole game.

I'm wanting to revamp this house but I'm not sure what to do with it. It's just to the left of the dojo so I'm not sure if I should asian it up or do something else. Any ideas?

You still have to harvest all the traps to be able to do that.

It's too bad boulders always roll left though. Means you can only fight the wall of flesh in one direction with this.

Spoke too soon. Guess you can force them to roll right with some wall on their left. Will force you to have far lower density and need to have a lot more blocks if you wanted to do a right-rolling contraption though.

Okay so I had an idea for a sequel

Imagine something about 3/4ths the size of a small world; that is now the game area, but it loops on itself. However at any time(?) you can "fast travel" to an adjacent hexagon, which is an entirely new world. Basically, it tracks how far along the world you are, converts it to a point on the hexagon's edge, and sees which adjacent map you can travel to

Each map would then have up to 6 unique biomes, and could have marshes, bogs, deserts etc. At the start, you'd generate a huge chunked map and start in a random hexagon. You might be able to play the entire game in a hex or two, and travel to find more wild crazy stuff.

Mechanically, that means you could eg set up a base/town in each hex and have macro interactions, like better merchant quality for each adjacent town, etc

thanks doc

I think you should /agdg/ on and start making this yourself. It's a good idea.

Fuck, the purple was supposed to be corruption. Can't escape the memes

I am currently in the middle of a project, but I was just tossing out an idea that was interesting to me to gauge tentative interest. I would like to do an autism block game at some point.

I would want to make it class-based, or at least change your starting equipment and progression to a degree, as it could open up different play styles. It would still be comfy crafting and item based, though.

Well that didn't work too well. The Silver Pickaxe has the fastest mining speed of all pre-hardmode pickaxes. It still wasn't fast enough to activate all boulders at sprinting speed. I'll have to lower the boulder density for this to work.

Video's fucked user.
Also, are you rerolling pickaxe bonuses to get a faster attack speed?

Why not use actuators with a one block drop?

It does work with a hardmode pickaxe with faster mining speed however. That was about 300 boulders (1,800 blocks!).

Yeah sorry for the shit compression. This video is a little clearer. As you could tell that was a Light Silver Pickaxe, the fastest possible pickaxe pre-hardmode.

Still corrupted.

You seemed to have misinterpreted the word "Fucked" in the previous case as if the webm could even be played back in the first place.

Works fine in my browser (Pale Moon), can't yours handle H.264 video with AAC audio? What codecs do people usually use for uploading MP4s?

There we go, it can be done with slow-mining pre-hardmode pickaxes after all. The secret is using a mining potion.

Now the only issue is mining all those stone blocks. When you bomb your way to hell rather than dig (and don't end up going through underground tundra most of the way), you end up with roughly 1000 stone blocks on a medium-sized map, and then just have 800 more to make up.

He's right you know. Nothing wrong with the video itself. Download it and play it back in a proper media player and it's fine. Little blurry

Just so you know, you can stack boulders.

I only now realize that you were replying to this post and not this one. I feel very slightly stupid.

Definitely don't try this with a Reaver Shark, it's nowhere near fast enough even with a mining potion.

Couldn't you do a hybrid approach where you do about half it's life in boulders, the rest in explosives?

Anyways, what's the advantage of using boulders instead of a weapon? Dungeon skip?

True, but if you want them to roll to the right, you'll need a little knob at the bottom of every single stack. Otherwise, you're stuck only going one direction with stacks.

Not sure, just testing it out at the moment. Maybe you could save some time grinding out a Demon Scythe, but the time you spend grinding 1800 stone blocks might cancel that out. is right about where Beenades or Demon Scythe strategies end up killing it.

And since you'll have that knob behind every stack, which every bunch of boulders is going to run into and disintegrate, you have to space stacks out far apart and make them very tall for it to be worth it. A straight line of boulders just seems better.

Looks like an Iron Pickaxe is good enough too. It can't loose boulders at quite at sprinting pace, but should be fine if you keep your distance from the wall in anticipation of that big speed up in the final sliver of health.

So it seems Manly Tears is trying to rob my house.

What's that RPG mod? What other mods do you use? Also, how do I make HP hearts golden like in and other screenshots with golden hearts? What mod do I use for that?

Golden hearts aren't a mod, you use life fruits that grow in the hardmode jungle in vanilla terraria.

the level is from the experience and classes mod which gives you an accessory that gives various buffs depending on class, the affixes mod adds item modifiers to enemies which modifies their stats, and the gold hearts are in the base game when you consume life fruit after you reached the maximum amount of health life crystals can grant you.

Thanks a lot! I'll try these mods out!

Made a crescent moon base out of granite and shit, at a complete loss what to do with the interior.

Make a dead nigger storage :^)

Very nice.
FUCK

ServerAnon, I think I crashed your server by using a zerg potion and spawning too many items and enemies.
Just a heads up for anyone trying and failing to join the server.

That's nothing compared to crashing the server console using the infinity omni bag and dropping too many items. And then crashing the server shortly after it gets rebooted the 1st time by doing nothing special and then causing someone else(you lose nothing) to lose an item. And, yes, all of that really did happen. QUALITY netcode right here.

oh

Are they actually called Zerg potions?

Is the name that generic now, or what?

Fug, I was happy with the regular ruler and had seen that in shots a few times, assumed it's the mechanical one.

No.
It has another name, but I don't remember it right now.

More like Fargomod just has literal broken items when you get far enough. It really extends the game as well with how much more shit can kill you too.

...

Kind of a bad design decision when you think about it.

I don't think it's possible to even do anything if you literally have nothing but your hands.

You can usually find bars in chests, provided you can access the chests. You can break jars with your hands and find some bombs to blow up trees I guess.

What weapons/armor are you guys using?

Zerg potions are calamity mod's upgraded version of battle potions.

Frost Armor, Cutlass and Titanium Repeater, I just killed the Destroyer. Been trying to get the Uzi, not sure what armor I want next.

The server isn't just in hardmode, it's post moon lord or at least WAS post moon lord until I crashed it, and up the the very final superboss of the calamity mod.

up to the*
I need to proofread things before I post them

The server I was on, didn't use Fargomod. It only used RecipeBrowser, Thorium, Calamity, Tremor and JPAN's Bag of Holding.

Wow, you guys are super fast!

The server has been up ever since this post
Though most of the progression was done by , especially post moonlord, where he was the only one online during american hours, and I just leeched loot whenever I got on the server.

oh well fuck me in the ass then i'm really late

Silver chainmail and greaves with a molten helmet, about to be completely replaced by molten. Got close to harvesting enough silver for a full armor set this time, but not close enough. I have almost never gotten enough ore to make an armor set before getting something better.

shit i kinda want another server now

New thread soon™

Could do 'em up together too

Modless server when?

to be fair at least adding thorium would be nice, it's basically just a vanilla expansion that's pretty polished

No thanks fam, I still need to beat the game without mods for once.

...
