This is one of the issues with warband, when NPC parties make prisoners the party that lost will go fetch more troops from the limbo if they're a lord or it they're some sort of bandit a different bandit party will respawn.
And then when that party loses the ones who beat them recruit their prisoners, which are generally more units than the troops they lost and the circle starts over until it gets to the point one of those parties is too big to even have deaths in a skirmish, which speeds up the snowball even further.
The end result is what you see, 21k men.

Since armors of these knights go around 60 and weapons normally end somewhere around 45 nobody does any damage except lancers. And AI is pretty bad with lances.

This reminds me, why don't spears have cross guards? It makes sense for throwing spears, but the way I see it when you try to stab someone with the spear the lack of a cross guard means it's easier for your hand to slide, making the stab weaker.

Well for starters you cant parry effectively with it, your hands arent in much of a danger since you'll be keeping them at a distance and because you cant slide your hands up and down the shaft to adjust the distance you want to use the spear at.

I find it too hard to do much else due to the clunky interface that makes it difficulty to make on the fly decisions.

Begin in Swadia; they're kinda the safest faction early game. Dump nearly everything into charisma and subsequently leadership, make sure to put points into pathfinding too. I find putting a point or two into power strike can be useful as well, but as a general rule only put the bare minimum into pretty much every other personal stat. Use companions for medical stats.

- horses can't charge trough rivers.

AWOIAF is based on the boringblanda system with all that comes with it. The models and textures are mostly LARP tier and the wars don't follow the books or show, which gives you more freedom.

ACUCK does a good job at creating an atmosphere and is pretty dificult and brutal, especially at the beginning. The models and textures are mostly fine, the sets are mostly fine but it is pretty demanding for a warband mod. Dev is a retard that makes nonsensical choices and removes stuff instead of adding every single update.
also balance is or at least used to be all over the place/non-existing. for example the north's elite archer has (or used to have) worse stats than the normal one and the veteran, which came before the elite.

Does anyone know how to remove the saturation from the Floris Evolved mod? For whatever reason when people say "graphic overhaul" they think turning the saturation up is the answer, when it gets slightly dark in game it's next to impossible to see even with the gamma set to max. The only other option is to turn up your monitor contrast up so much and even then when you exit the game you are blinded by the light of God.

This really pisses me off, all my troops are in a single blob battling against the enemies in the narrow walls and then there's shit-ton of archers below shooting their backs.

I try to make a special "squadron" of troops, usually comprised of Huscarls or whatever heavy infantry i have that i just have following me in sieges should the need arise to help the braindead AI with some proper pathfinding to find an alternative way to the enemies but fuck even it doesn't help in some sieges.

I hadn't played this game in 3 years. Just went and hopped on a random TM server. Was the combat always this sluggish? I mean I know its 2009 combat, but I have forgotten almost every tech like glancing and feinting.

Multi can very wildly depending on your ping; going over 100 can more or less ruin your chances in melee. The rest is just being rusty, skill will come back to you in time, if you're having trouble I personally recommend learning how to sidestep and punish enemy attacks.

It did move a couple of things, and samurai troops are supposedly much tougher but take 2 troop spots (like a knight and his squire). Also haven't seen options to build a castle, if there's any. Changes all the fucking colors too.

I guess he did all these changes for players to RP that 1570, relatively very soon from the start of the previous version, is the end of an era in terms of politics, so having this thing start at 1562 means you have 3000 days to finish the job. I just wanted to conquer the north land so this comes as redundant to me.
So far it seems like this, haven't seen the new gameplay stuff.

Thing has crashed on me 2 times in 2 hours, and i feel the travel speed got slower to make the map bigger, or maybe was that i had a 9 pathfinder skill with 12 horses before. It's going to be a real bitch to grind this shit again.

One of the biggest mods, Prophecy of Pendor has took a turn for the worse, and I need help to fix it. Does anyone know how to replace the changed combat animations to that of native? The retards changed the animation for polearms so that the upper attack looks nearly identical to the lower attack, making it nearly impossible to manually block since there is no visual cue as to what type of an attack it is other than one stabbing animation is a foot higher than the other. (upper and lower attacks are now both the same stabbing animation with one slightly higher than the other). I don't know what the hell they were thinking. Do the contributors to PoP not play with manual blocking? Why bother playing a difficult mod just to play it with automatic blocking?

I finally finished. I deleted 590 sound files out of 1367. This means that nearly 45% of all sounds in Prophecy of Pendor are people faking a British accent. No more will I ever hear a, "Oi well met! Good day indeed if I so say so myself! What can I do for you chap?" from an American speaking through a $3 Chinese microphone.

I also removed some shitty music I didn't like from the music folder. I'm going to zip up these files for future use in case I install PoP again. That way I can just delete the sound and music folders and paste in my custom one without ear cancer.

Have you tried thrusting with spears while on horseback? Sort of like doing couched lance attacks but manually by yourself doing the thrust.

Because it's extremely easy to break a spear jab with chambering, a guy with a shield and spear will always fail against some guy who chambers for that reason. You'll want to know how to chamber because it's the only way to beat being gangbanged in both sp and mp.

I just go with the sort of ultimate melee cavalry weapon combination now with morningstar, shield, war spear and a stack of heavy throwing axes.

War Spears really good for those thrusting "couches" when the enemies have long weapons like most Rhodoks do meaning they might actually hit me before i manage to hit them with my ride-by morningstarring but against most others m-star works wonders+being able to switch between 1h+shield/2h's allways great.
And throwing axes are neat, i miss most of them obv but their main purpose is sieges where you're on foot and a melee weapon with decent dmg yet low reach(heavy throwing axe on alternative mode) is allways nice.

And I haven't played that shit mod in ages and I don't intend to. Sure the knight orders are cute but too much headcanon and too many bullshit troops for my taste.
