You're right, but having people play games more extensively and regularly is good for sales - It means statistically more people bring their friends in and convince them to make purchases, it looks good to investors, and it makes people more invested in the system as a whole - Possibly influencing them into buying another game or two when they get completely and totally sick of their old ones where most might shelf the thing and join the growing PC market or something.

Doesn't need to directly make money if they're spying on you with said AI waifu. They just sell the data to government agencies, AI startups and marketing firms. Considering the complexity of it, it'll still depend on some sort of cloud setup to improve it constantly (even if AI chips are locally installed in hardware).

Big data is a lucrative business in itself. Such a thing would be most likely used for gathering experimental data, more than a ploy to keep people addicted and fork money over for content.

1. We don't have a believable AI made yet.
2. It would take all of your RAM and HDD space (and net connection too, probably) and consoles don't have that much of either in the first place.
3. If she was server stationed she would never be pure since it would interact with millions of other people and wouldn't be able to cater to you, since current AI algorithms get more rigid the longer they run.
4. Marketable, adaptive to the person AI would require so much money to make that the money and actions required would probably be targeted towards creating an AI for fucking you over harder than ever before through every other sphere other than pure entertainment.
