Modded Oblivion / Skyrim

I've never played these games but understand they're utter shit without mods.

I have an ancient Lenovo x220 Thinkpad but I think it's just about good enough to run these.

What are some essential mods that balance the gameplay, fix bugs and tweak things to improve the games?

Essential Oblivion Mods
‌LOOT (Load Order Optimization Tool)
‌Oscuro Overhaul (Makes it harder and fixes enemy scaling)
As for Skyrim I have never installed any mods but if you have a toaster try this video.

It might run the base game, but good luck modding it.

Skyrim Requiem is a good overhaul mod if you dont want to fuck with 6 gorillion mods, i was able to run it fine on my ancient samsung laptop.
Also all the unofficial patches.

Dont try frostfall and campfire without a good system.

God it was worse than I thought, get something better OP.

This guide'll set you up for a reasonably fun game. The stock factions will still be trash but the gameplay will be somewhat better.

For magic I personally went with no new spell lists, no spell tomes from merchants, and Spell Research mod, but I haven't gotten a mage to high levels so I don't know if SPERG fixes scaling at that level.

Definitely go with SPERG and Disparity rather than Enai Saion's DnD Cancer (apocalypse/ordinator/imperious).

has there been a codex (or anyone really) release for special edition 1.5.3 yet? I dont get why there's zero uploads for it anywhere except for some shady chinkshit.

A laptop of mine with Intel HD 2000 could run it at 1366x768, absolute lowest settings at a silky smooth 15fps.

YOU CAN NOT FIX BETHSHIT WITH MODS

STOP PRETENDING IT'S POSSIBLE

OK FRIEND

Loot De-levers are essential.
Bethesda thought that it was a good idea to give the player quests to gain the artifacts of the gods, but they also scale the power of said artifacts according to the player's level at the time without allowing the artifacts to gain their full potential.
Simply put, if you do the quest to get the Dawnbreaker sword at level six, then you will get a low level version of Dawnbreaker that stays at a low level forever.
If you do the quest at level thirty then your Dawnbreaker is high level, so your incentivized to do the cool quests after you've been grinding the shitty quests with randomly generated rewards.

OP listen. skyrim even after mods will leave you feeling empty and hollow. it's like eating icecream with a shit covered spoon.

Seems Todd's on a festive spree today.

user, why did you post that image?
I was having a nice day.
Sage because this is off topic.

What's wrong with it?

I wish someone would do a modern Halloween 3 with shit like this, where the clothes turn into bugs upon activation and eat them alive.

Fuck you.

Oh boy.

Stay away from my anime, niggers

what the fuck? that sounds like a fucking moronic design choice. I hate level scaling in any game for the most part but scaled equipment in quest rewards? Fuck that.

Do you need a legit copy of Skyrim to use the Script Extender? If so, is it possible to just buy the base vanilla game for $5 and pirate the DLC? Do a lot of mods even require the DLC?

No you don't need a legit copy, there is no reason to not pirate it.

Which is precisely why you need mods.

its a *bethesda* design choice.

Too late.

No
Yes
Yes

Skyrim isn't an rpg, much less a "game", it's garry's mod with dragons and tits.
That being said you'll probably need a better computer.

There's at least 10 or so engine bugfix mods that are absolutely mandatory to fix shit like memory issues, some of them aren't easy to install.
Bethesda basically can't code anymore due to gamebyro making everything drag and drop; it's why their games have progressively dropped in complexity, they don't remember how to do anything advanced.

pretty much, though it'd be nice to get that latest patch crack going so it can be garrys mod with dragons and tits and *more mods* though

Porn mods.

They are shit even with mods and no mod can fix the garbage combat.

tkdodge + ultimate combat on very high difficulty with skytweak to further tweak the difficult actually helps quite a bit, makes it feel like dragon's dogma almost, though it doesn't fix the shitfest that is magic.

This is like a annual occurrence

What does Kennedy have to do with a bike club anime?

Just mod Oblivion instead, or Morrowind.
Morrowind is the hardest to mod but has the best base game to work with.

So anybody know anything about save bloat? I'm doing a porno playthrough in skyrim SE and my save file size is growing at about 1 kb a minute

You won't be able to add many mods running on a potato. Plan on topping out at 10-20 depending on how efficient the mods are.

You're going to have to spend hours enabling them one at a time until you find the culprit. Sorry

The only reason I would play any of these games is for porn mods, and I can't imagine masturbating to the jankiness of Oblivion character models/animations.

Im assuming OP isnt a retard who wastes time and storage modding games for porn when he can access porn anywhere else instantly.

...

You can't really get into the situation and roleplay just by looking at some pics. Or maybe I have the idea of Skyrim porn mods all wrong. There's like erotic questlines and shit, right?

imo, morrowind with mods would be a better experience for you. first because with your video card i doubt skyrim will run comfortably.
second because it's an objectively better game.
third because it has objectively better mods.
fourth because it has an objectively better story.

No. It's to dependent on itself and trying to get it with other mods is a fucking nightmare. You would only do this if you were incredibly lazy and don't want to actually put any effort into looking for shit. You're better off installing separate level scaling and combat mods with heavily customizable ini's and are essentially much more self contained enough that you won't fuck something up. You also missed a shitload of actual necessary mods such as the unofficial patch and OCOv2 so characters don't look like potatoes. There's plenty more though as well.

t. fag who's ever modded skyrim for porn before

Also this. If you want to install mods where you actually have fun with the gameplay do Morrowing OP.

I've also heard decent things about Nerhim or however you spell it which is an incredibly heavy conversion mod. If you want to mod Oblivion/Skyrim the most use you'll get is from porn mods. I post pic related every thread because it's true.

wew. wind*

Apocalype (magic upgrades)
Those big weapon and armor packs
Civil War mod (don't know the exact name, but it restores cut content)

There's millions to choose from. Go look and pick what you like. But focus on gameplay tweaks and watch out for compability.

The one made by the literal faggot? It's not that great to begin with from what I remember. As far as Skyrim goes you truly can't polish a turd. The base framework is just to fucked to make a good game out of it.

Civil War mod will kill your game.

uunp + book of uunp + HDTsmp.

wheres my tit expansion and pregnancy mods where the expansion is done by having an ingame version of the program i use to make the bodies with. older games you have to set up like 5 separate meshes for each body and each costume and have to make edits and additions by hand. but with skyrim bodyslide you make 1 mesh for each and can control how much each body part morphs in game separately. Oblivion and morrowind are dogshit for this

Any good Oblivion mods for playing as a fairy/inchling?

fair point. i should've said morrowind is objectively better in all ways except the porn mods. a dunmer babe forcing a big-titted argonian maid to mate with a wolf is hard to do in mw. brb fapping.

shit is still shit even if you polish it

Must be the Christmas spirit making anons reply sincerely to this faggy thread.

I should really make a guide or something for you guys. You need to use the new virtual file system meant for skyrim with oblivion to truly get away from your mod problems. think it's mod organizer, but it essentially takes any changes you would make to the base folder and puts them into a virtual system so that you never accidentally overwrite shit and have to orbitally nuke all your progress. Really mod compatibility is the biggest fucking meme, just don't install skeleton altering mods over other skeleton altering mods, don't install same space inhabiting mods over others etc etc. Shit's so common sense at this point.

Fuck you nigger, I like the potatoes.

This is actually why I recommend strictly using manual installation when you start out. When you do that, it lets you get an understanding of how the files actually relate to each other. There's some things you'll need tools like Wyre Bash for as you get further down the line, but I would never recommend someone star with Mod Organizer. It'll just make them retarded.

Or just don't bother at all.

where? I can only remember that redhead's side boobs
where? I only see wyverns

Maybe it's just Mod Organizer wasn't around until my seventh iteration of modding, thought it was really useful. For awhile we just had manual and obmm

Oh it's very useful, but it gets that utility only if you understand the basics already. It's sort of like how a tripod-mounted machine gun produces a lot more casualties than just your standard single-man rifle, but you're still going to need to learn how to shoot the latter first.

yes tbh

fuck christmas

The girl in the pic is jewish.

I tried to install Enderal on a pirated Skyrim copy, but the character menu and some models are bugged. The installer keeps installing even after it says it's done.
It's too bad, since from what I've played it's pretty good.

I thought our Jewish mods don't celebrate Christmas?

There's 3 different ones. I don' know of any faggot.

I know of a mod that restores much of the content and implements proper faction conquest with armies going at it and proper sieges/defences of every hold with some restored conversations.

Didn' kill my game at all.

just pretend its japanese and got lost in translation

Calling it "garrysmod" implies that the mods provide those things.

Try Enderal. The story's way better than the typical Betsheda crap and it's made with a lot of love for the game.
The imaginary city quest is especially interesting.
