Only one song this year was perfect imo: Picture Perfect

Honourable mentions:
Rivers in the Desert (Persona 5),
Ultra Necrozma Theme (Pokemon US/UM),
Jump Up, Super Star! (Super Mario Odyssey),
Infinite Boss Battle 1 (Sonic Forces),
Paprika's Stage [Oleander's Final Round] (Them's Fightin' Herds)

...

I know, I know
But Goddamn I love tracks like this.

I seriously can't tell which AAA got released in which year, they all overlap, its like a blur to me.

What is vidya-related music? Does dungeon synth count?

If I were a collectorfag I would covet the red marble vinyl of this

...

You the user who keeps posting Gothmog?
If so, I can't thank you enough, though I wish there were more artists inspired by old school Dungeon Crawlers most usualy do their own thing or are inspired by other media with exception of a few.

Music from LtPRPG fangames will always have a special place in my heart

It's sad that the game this song was supposed to be in was cancelled, but it's a good listen.

I was going to get mad at night in the woods being anywhere near good on the list but I remembered the OST was actually decent
but I'm still salty about being reminded

Did you copy-paste this list from reddit or something?
Meanwhile Hollow Knight is nowhere to be found

Most definitely from Reddit

Odyssey's music is okay to good with the exception of the finale song that everyone constantly jerks off to, which I concede it is great. But to put that AND the shitshow of HZD with literally NO memorable music above the UNFORGETTABLE soundtrack consisting of Emi Evans incredible vocals, with her own created made-up language for the Nier games, for almost every piece in the game? And you have the fucking nerve to say it's your favorite but NOT put it at your number 1?

Fuck you for triggering me.

niershitters will shit up any thread they can touch.

nier has a legitimately good ost.

...

He's a retard; he can't even be baiting because he didn't even shit on the one who posted a tomato ost to begin with, just random people making fun of HZD being on the list and the second person pointing out that the person who posted it said tomato's ost was his favorite and then the list not reflecting that

bump

I thought Cupchad did a pretty good job of emulating era-specific tunes.

...

love the melancholic OSTs of this game and hotaru

NitW's OST was pretty good in general. Other honorable 2017 vidya OST mentions include:

Persona 5

Cuphead

Destiny 2

I've also heard that Mario Odyssey's OST is pretty good, too.

I still hate that I like NITW's OST. The game itself really ruins it through association.

Looks like you got the gay, user.

Have you played it, user? I thought it was a hipster/SJW fuckfest until I pirated it and played it. It's got a lot of subtle and probably unintentional redpills in it. And it's got one of the most unique art styles I've seen in vidya in a while.

The SJW shit isn't the worst part, it's just the cherry ontop of the sundae.
The artstyle is great, the game is oozing polish, but the story is just trash. All of the arguments seem unnatural, the plot ends entirely without the main character actually doing anything, the game is bleeding red herrings that go nowhere, and the game dispite having a great artstyle beautiful sound design and a spectacular ost is animated terribly.
All the update did is add more polish to the already polished parts. It did nothing to actually improve the game's shortcomings. The story stays the same, your character still has just about as much development (basically none), and the animations are still low quality compared to everything else.

If remixes are allowed

The game was great, the music was worse than galaxy's.

Bumping with some Mudeth

NIN made a track specifically for Jeff Minter's Polybius, which is pretty cool.
