I dunno, there's just something fun about playing a game where you're in the middle of a full blown outbreak and you're doing all you can to survive the initial outbreak.

I don't really find mods made these days that appeal to me. I like total conversions or new levels the most. Modding in 2017 means you replaced every sound in x with your voice, you can spawn a gajillion enemies, or a few cfg tweaks to change game play.

To me this is a waste of time. I want mods like pvk2. I keep an eye on new quake maps and they're great, but I'd like to see new titan fall 2 sp maps. Can only play a 20 year old game so many times before it bores me.

Old news but Skyrim. I love playing mages but the magic system in skyrim was under-powered, unbalanced with the rest of the game and simply not fun. I downloaded a simple magic mod that just rebalanced the magic system, and allows spells to get more powerful as you level, the same way swords do.

New Vegas was one of those games I never finished. Not because it was hard or boring, I simply lost all interest and never went back to it. I was right at the last mission too.

It's more of a mapset than a full game, but I don't think I would have enjoyed doom TNT evilution without metadoom. There were a couple maps near the end that were still kind of miserable to get through, but overall the enemy and weapon changes made it at least decent to play.

Mods that make custom quests and what not are the closest you'll get to make use of a game engine and make the most out of a game's gameplay. Paper Mario Pro mode, or games that players can add balance tweaks and what no are ways to EXTEND gameplay or make the most out of it.
However, completely change the experience? No. It either adds flavor or highlights the flavor in the meat, but it doesn't change the, ironically, texture of the meat, or the meat i tself.
Modfags are usually rusky trash with no money to buy new games so they download mods over and over to be autistic on the same game until they sink 250+ hours.

Mods for MGS V made the thing almost playable. Mods for Rimworld and Kerbal Space Program made them fucking shine like stars. I also played the shit out of an australian based Killing Floor mod, basically introduced a ton of new maps and added cocaine and steriods to the guns you could choose from, the classes, and the enemies and numbers of them.

Both servers are long dead however, but they made boring games extremely playable, the CSS warcraft mod i played was incredible, very balanced, loads of cool characters and skills to use, lots of silly cheap shit aswell etc, its amazing no other game has ever bothered to replicate it, Overwatch is a kiddy daycare spinoff of it.

there was a KF resident evil mansion map that was hilarious fun, the zombies would all spawn in the street, you would have 1 beserker at the door guarding, and everyone else a heavy gunner or a demolitionist, setting up gun turrents, firing RPGs and miniguns at a wall of zombies with elite high speed monsters running amongst them, the bazookas had a 5% chance of proccing a literal mini nuke, soo much fun, nothing like it.
