Resident Evil

The third person over-the-shoulder action games are where the Resident Evil games should be. The best games in the series, co-op or not, are the third person ones.

Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece of a game and hard to top, so it's understandable that 5 and 6 feel blatantly inferior to it. That doesn't mean those games or the revisions they bring to the combat system are bad. 5 was too focused on Chris (the most bland character in the series by far) and 6 wasn't focused enough on ANYONE.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 got it just right, I think. It focused on multiple characters with a wide range of motivations other than "KILL AS MANY ZOMBIES AS POSSIBLE," and the story wasn't half bad either. Raid mode isn't perfect and it isn't as fun as Mercenaries mode in 6, but it some of what it tries certainly works.

And the CGI movies are where this series really shines. I could easily see an entire CGI series starring Leon, Chris, Jill, Claire, and Ada. The action scenes are incredibly over-the-top but always obscenely enjoyable, and the animation only gets better with each movie.

The fixed-camera """horror""" games that predate 4 have their own merits, but to me they serve as nothing more than backstory for the characters. And I don't even want to talk about 7.

When are we going to get another fully fleshed out Resident Evil game with a Mercenaries and/or Raid Mode on the side?

Resident evil needs more cute girls in hot pants is what it needs. Enough of this chris redfield and beta protagonist shit.

It couldn't hurt.

RESIDENT EVIL 6 IS FUN AS HELL

...

...

...

Hell yeah, I always felt that resident evil was at its best in those games. Even with my nostalgia for 1, 2, and code veronica.

I think the focus on conspiracy that they had going on in Revelations, 6, and to a lesser extent 4 was really good and helped drive the story and gameplay into good positions to maneuver from. Here's hoping they focus on that some more, hopefully enough to not fuck up the obligatory open-world RE game they're gonna try next or eventually, I'm suprised they've gone this long without getting that out of their system.

Also this, god bless that melee and combo system. Shame it's hard as shit to figure out on your own and has no in-game documentation.

The best and most cute Resident Evil gril is Rebecca.

You know this to be true.

The most recent CGI movie involved more bioweapon related conspiracy. Umbrella and Tricell are gone forever, though.

Wesker is dead, but there's plenty of people that can carry on in his place. His sister, Alex Wesker, lives on in Natalia and his son Jake Muller is still in the game though I don't know how much involvement either will have in future projects.

She's a Doctor now. She'll be a playable skin in Mercenaries-like modes, but she'll never be one of the gunslingers again.

inb4 "Redfield" is HUNK.

I mean, it has a bunch of bad aspects, such as them trying to do horror, but failing miserably, the camera flipping out quite often, and shittily made, non-responsive bosses with massive healthbars, but other than that it's enjoyable to play through once, and makes me wish they actually fully focused on the cuhrayzee action parts, like the latest movie.

It's bullshit that HUNK got cucked out of his game so that the Drakengard and NieR dev Cavia can finish and shit out Resident Evil Dead Aim fast.

This is too hard for most peopplew. An FPS formula can be used but I'd have to DEV is so I dunno.

I want a ORC2.

I just want an over the top TPS like RE4 starring Hunk

Resident Evil 4 is the best game in the series. The rest made in that mould are kind of shit. REmake is the second best game in the series.

Am I the only one who enjoyed Zero?

Electric edifice.
where's the sex?

Four eyes was cute as heck.

RE4 controls are dogshit. Why does everyone keep saying it's good?

Beware the shift of death. I pity the men of swords.

The first couple are fine though.

git gud

What version are you playing?

They're perfectly balanced for what they are. Learn to adapt to a time when everything wasn't so totally homogenised.

The action in the CGI movies is pretty nice

I want to colonize sheva's thick ass if you know what I mean.

she needs dem toes sucked

Sherry is the only good thing to come out of Resident Evil 6, well her thick thighs and Mercenaries Mode.

Also, just dug my ps2 out of storage, and purchased Resident Evil 3, going to play through RE3 and CV the two Resi games I never played.

Nah, you're an underage faggot. Fixed cinematic camera angle games were the best with REmake being the peak of the series.

And to clarify why: The old perspective games were actually survival-horror, Resident Evil 4 on were ACTION-horror. It should have been a totally different series.

...

Daily Reminder that Action Horror is just Survival Horror with good gameplay.

were the revelations games actually good? cuz RE7 looks fucking terrible

at least capcom can't fuck that up

Why are actionfags so retarded? No, you know what, let's really get this shit started:
What you really mean to say is Action Horror is Survival Horror with all the tension based mechanics removed in favor of twitch based mechanics to satisfy ADHD morons.

Revelations were okay.
RE7 was decent.

You should pirate all three however especially Rev2 because its "episodic content" aka Capcom being the filthy Jews that they are.

Rev is good though, cool bosses and you get to play as Barry and Hunk.

Clearly this was retconned.

Every "original" RE game released before RE4 is one continuity, meanwhile every "original" RE game released beginning with RE4 (With the exception of Mercenaries and OP Racoon City'') is another continuity.

The movie is great what are you talking about.

It wasn't exactly bad, but it did a weird thing to try to refresh the formula and kind of failed. Also, the story was a clusterfuck

...

fucking kek

The only good Resident Evil game is REmake

Wow.

I heard recently that it was confirmed that the REmake 2 won't have a Leon A/Claire B and Leon B/Claire A play through.

Kind of a shame, but I can see why everything today is about the continuity and if Im not mistake the two playthroughs had different endings and one had to be made the "cannon" ending eventually.

Everyone always says you could bounce a quarter off Shenas ass.

...

also:

Why the fuck is it so hard to find good zombie rape porn? Few things provide a better fap than seeing the power of dick, unity conquer even mindless nightmarish abominations and uncaringly shred anything in the way just like the shits would rip apart any other poor fuck.

The endings are the same, but the journey is different.

the non tank controls for remake works great

The only possible reason you'd make that complaint would be if you were bad at videogames. Become proficient.

I'd prefer if Professional was unlocked right off the bat, but that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that you just confirmed my suspicion that you never actually played it.

Get
Fucking
Good

Dino Crisis is the best Resi game

Dino Crisis 4/remake/reboot when?

You must be a casual to be insuating this. Resident Evil 4 is where the series began it's casualization which led to where it is now.
Honestly you acting like RE4 is "HARDCORE, ONLY THE BEST OF THE BEST CAN BEAT PROFESSIONAL!!" says a fucking lot about what a casual faggot you are.

user please, you aren't fooling anyone. I wouldn't be giving you such a hard time if you just admitted that you were bad at shooters, and didn't enjoy the transition from auto-aim+evasion to precision gunplay.

I'm great at shooters, I just think casual shooters where every time you hit a limb you can juggle enemies don't make for good horror games. Not everything is a matter of skill cucklord, some things are a matter of design choices. Classic Resident Evil is more challenging than Action Evil any day. You just like the game being easier on you and rewarding you for doing something as simple as aiming properly. WOW, GREAT JOB! GO SHOW YOUR MOM! YOU MANAGED TO HIT SOMETHING!

What kind of embarrassing "insult" will you think up next? It would be easier if you just calmed down and admitted you were bad at vidyagaems.

I would like you to show me your evidence of me being bad at video games, and no your personal salt at me for insulting the casual game you love isn't proof.

Also really nice evasion there. You dodged everything I said by focusing on how I called you a cuck, great job, really acting like a full on SJW now.

Eheheheheh.

Quality conversation here. RE4fags everyone.

Quantum-heh.

RE4fags are the cancer that killed Resident Evil.

Also:

Dino Crisis had the best dialogue because it didn't seem like Regina was all that offput by decimated bodies, and none of the scientists' log books mentioned dinosaurs by name. The rest of the game was kind of average, but I liked that dinosaurs followed you through doors. There just wasn't much enemy variety.

third person is shit, I can hint many examples, Honestly third person should just die all together.

Just stop.

Can anyone give me a rundown of the best way to play each RE entry?

Don't waste your time upgrading your shitty first hand gun save it for the Red9, don't waste your money on Magnums you can get one for free if you don't miss it and it's the second best one, you don't need any rifles or the TMP but if you want one fuck the TMP just get one of the two rifles, don't upgrade the Riot Gun too much save your money for the Striker and never upgrade the first shotgun you get. You do get one Rocket Launcher for free but you can actually buy rocket launchers so if you go full minimalist and only keep the Red9 and Striker on you then you can 1HKO every boss with the power of money once you git gud at hitting them with the Rocket Launcher.

wow this bitch is fuckable

No I meant the best version of each game to play.

???
???
!!!
You are retarded.

My first Resident Evil game was RE4. I loved it. Upon going back and playing RE1, RE2, REmake, RE0, etc. I just couldn't enjoy them the same way. When I was young I didn't realize that RE4 was such a massive departure from the rest of the series and thought the first few games would be more like it.

I don't like Parasite Eve or Dino Crisis either, I just really like what RE4 did and I still enjoy RE6 if only for Mercenaries and Leon/Helena/Ada's story.

RE4 and God of War 2 started the trend of QTEs in everything. Fuck both of them.
Also: RE2 was best RE.

I hate QTEs too, but that's not enough to detract from the rest of the game being fantastic.

My friends and I have a drunk movie night at least once a month where we watch shitty funny movies while wasted and this one is definitely top 10.

Wasn’t RE5 the cancer that killed Resident Evil?
Four was decent, but Roid Ragefield punching boulders in a volcano is really where the series jumped the shark.

They're having fun with the new DLCs instead of making it be just like RE6 levels of COD-stupidity.

Oh, Blue Umbrella is real, it was the real Chris Redfield and he's just playing BSAA-adviser to the BU, and goddamn, they're going for the realism re-design for all future RE characters.

This is out already?

Free DLC, it's out early for free, but RE7 Gold Edition will be out in 3-4 days. A friend told me about it.

Some people are already streaming it right now, you play as Joe the Swamp guy who may be ex-military who can fucking snap necks and clothesline BOWs.

lol no shit I randomly skipped ahead and he's fuckin Kenshiro over here

I cannot agree with this assessment.

...

How anyone can see Resident Evil 6 as remotely enjoyable is beyond me sure the combat is better but every other aspect is a dramatic step down. It's a completely joyless game to play.

Scratch that, the streamers are telling people they got their copies early, fucking faggots.

Fucking REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

...

No it was RE4, if RE4 wasn't successful there wouldn't of been a RE5. Or to use a shitty game as an analogy, if Metroid: Other M was a success all Metroid games after it would be a poor man's kojima game, with none of the features that made the series appealing in the first place.

If Capcom didn't port RE4 a dozen times and pissed off Shinji Mikami, we wouldn't have shit like RE5 and RE6 whose only saving grace were coop and Mercenaries mode.

TANK CONTROLS ARE BADASS
You either engage or ignore. Sidestepping is unnecessary and literally beta behavior. You needn't focus an enemy you're not going to kill, circling him warily as if he's a danger. He's either a threat or he's not. He's either worth the ammo or he's not. That's Resident fucking Evil right there. A control scheme that places you at a disadvantage and forces discretionary action. And as good as the original games did it, Resident Evil 4 does it better by adding third person combat and CROWD CONTROL. Here ammo conservation is not hording bullets while zigzagging through hallways of zombies anti-canonically. Here It's a well-placed bullet to the knee opening up a context-sensitive action at the critical moment when a mob has formed up around you. Here it is a single bullet to the arm clutching a stick of dynamite that takes out three enemies. Here it is effective disabling shots offering precious seconds to reload or heal as Ganados pound the gates that is your mastery of those perfect controls. Here it is actual gameplay, rewarding and enjoyable, and not just a side effect of hardware limitations, tradition and questionable design. It goes on to fuel The Evil Within, gaining and losing some aspects, but nowhere is it better than Resident Evil 4. And in Resident Evil 4 nowhere is it better than when you're blocking doors, diving out of windows, kicking over and righting ladders while disabling Ganados as quickly as possible with the drone of a chainsaw growing louder behind you. It's high tension gameplay distilled to absolute perfection. The whole game is great, but that first village leading up to the bell and title screen, with all the gameplay options and freedom present, is a damn masterpiece.

Does this qualify as gun-fu?
If so, i approve.

I cannot be mad about Resident Evil 5 because Capcom gave us this.

But thats worst jill though.

Fuck off m8

I cannot be mad about Resident Evil 5 because Capcom gave us this.

I only could beat it on easy mode

respawning enemies was a huge fucking mistake that just makes combat redundant

Best jill, followed closely by boobtube jill.

...

Bah

anyone knows why they changed her hair color?

Either they wanted the fact that Wesker had brainwashed Jill in his cocksleeve to be OH WOW SUCH A TWIST, or they already had a model like that laying around and thought "Eh we're just going to say he dyed her hair"

Because Wesker wanted an aryan waifu, he would have done the same to rebecca where her evil outfit canon.

Not An Hero

Oh, some retarded shit "The Connections" is the new bad guy company, just like "Neo-Umbrella" and "The Family" from RE6 which sounds retarded, that Famitsu magazine on Blue Umbrella as the the US and BSAA-approved expendable PMC company using a lot of old Umbrella assets and personnel.

5 was good, provided you had a friend to play co-op with through the whole game, though the inventory management was shit.

Revelations 1 was okay, but you can tell it was developed for a handheld and it lacked enemy variety.

Revelations 2 was better I think, but felt a bit too-much like The Last of Us.

6 was a dumb, fun third-person shooter even though it was far from scary.

7 is surprisingly-good, I don't mind the first-person perspective and it feels a lot like REmake with Nemesis-like characters you have to deal with.

This just made me realize how fitting a Moonman skin for Chris would be in Resident Evil 5.
It also reminded of the whole fiasco that they had to add in non-niggers into a game set in Africa because it was "Racist" to Western audiences. lmao.

WRONG.
Cowtits S.T.A.R.S Jill or go home bucko.

Is there even a failure-state in the newest one? Like, can you fuck up? It seems more like a rollercoaster-game in the vein of Outlast.

...

Holy shit this is first person Splatterhouse.

lmao, 5 minutes in an Joe has already proven why Ethan is the biggest cuck in all of resident evil

just casually punching the mold monsters to death

I want reddit to leave

Fucking this, at least they suffer now with the genre changing again like we did.

user, maybe you're the one with shit taste?

...

Yes you fucking retard there's game over's. Seriously, most of the complains reason on this board why they hate the game is because the trailers make it look like outlast which can be easily disproven by just watching a lp of the game. I have a sneaking suspicion the real reason why people hate RE7 is because there's no hot waifus. Make no mistake the game is genuinely fucking flawed, and not a 'return to it's roots' but rather a 'step in the right direction' if they fix the flaws in the next game.which they probably wont address anyway

...

It's because some e-celeb likes RE6.

I saw only one user in this thread who said they didn't enjoy REmake.

Link to the comments faggots instead of going with the

eat shit. I always liked RE6, because I liked RE5 and RE6 is a refinement of that
the first encounter I ever had with RE was the PC 3dfx version of the original game, which I got with my original voodoo card as a pack-in game, and I fucking loathed it. (I also hated Dino Crisis desite loving dinosaurs)
I never played another RE game until playing RE5 on the 360 with my buddy after he insisted we give it a try because it had bad reviews and he liked RE4 a lot, and yeah I fucking loved it
I got curious about some of the story and played a bit of RE4, it's alright but man I just do not care for the setting. I also tried to play RE1 on PS1 and it's better than the old 3dfx copy I had for sure – game was definitely meant for a gamepad – but it's just not my thing.
I think all the love for old-style RE is mostly nostalgia; I have zero doubt that they were well-crafted games in their time but playing them now is just a chore. I feel the same way about many games that I enjoyed back in the day, like the "strike" series of helicopter games on the megadrive and the king's field games.
I haven't played RE7 but I've watched a let's play of it and it looks a lot like a first-person version of RE6 without all the action. there's like maybe 4 good fights in the whole game from what I've seen and while I totally get that RE wasn't historically about combat that's definitely what 5 and 6 are about and that's what I liked about them, I really liked the combat system and the way they play – The Mercenaries is nothing BUT combat and that's a fucking blast. I wish more games had the depth in their combat that RE5/6 do

We get it you have shit taste.
So you're admitting that you've always had shit taste. Not a lot of folks will admit that.
Holy shit man, you really have shit taste. It has the best gameplay in the series. Even I, a classic series fan admit that. It just fucked up the series like Fallout 3 did but was a good game.
Only if you you're a dipshit who can't understand how tank controls work and gets angry why he can't shoot zombies in the head.
>I feel the same way about many games that I enjoyed back in the day, like the "strike" series of helicopter games on the megadrive and the king's field games.
The Gaming Brit has outed himself.
The issue with RE7 is that it's plagued by the typical flaws of shooters of the past decade, unskippable cutsences, the women are unattractive, lack of enemy variety, the plot is just FEAR mold people edition, no seriously one of the guys who worked on FEAR helped write this. The only ones they didn't do were the two weapon limit and regen health. But it also had resource management and horror, that's why I like over 5&6.
We get it gaming brit, you like CRAZZZZZZZZZZZY shit. The issue is RE isn't supposed to be about that, that's what DMC and Bayonetta are for man.

RE6 was brought down by useful idiots who couldn't realize their elitism was used to harm japanese gaming. All these fools thinking RE was about muh immersion, instead of your mercenaries high score.

Why does he look like dewritos pope?

I UNDERSTAND tank controls, I just find them awkward and cumbersome and would rather spend my time playing a game that's a joy to play instead of fighting tedious controls
I can see all of that. this plays into my previous response too but I'm not playing RE for WOO SPOOKY HORROR so it's fairly obvious why I'm not into the older games and why I wouldn't be into RE7 (I played FEAR series like they were doom and had a blast)
say that to my face not online fucker
you're alright, user. also I'm nip-american not britbong

No, the issue is that you swallowed up the bullshit from the REmake elitists aka muh immershun. Resident Evil was always about blasting zombies in the shortest timed run.

Check here

Nigger RE2 was my first game, it was about spooks and item managment for me. Especially the shutter bit really spooked the hell out of me. Although playing back now, i've noticed that you'll only run out of hand gun ammo in the game, which can be mitigated by just using your shotgun instead.

Part of the fun for me is making the game my bitch with those controls. It's one of the reason why I like RE0 even though just about RE classic fan dislikes it. You can stab the zombies in the legs and they fall in two stabs, abuse the partner mechanics since they don't trigger leech zombies spawns if they're not on camera and etc.
FEAR is fun game, I was shitting on the plot 'creepy girl used as a weapon breaks out and murders everyone' that it uses.
Did 2channel banished you once they found out you were part burger?

My first RE game if anyone's wants to play gotcha.

We have people here who unironically have bought a modern day console. Eat shit faggot.

The new movie Vendetta is the most retarded fucking shit ever god damn. Probably just as bad as those shitty LA resident evil movies

The movies have turned into pure cheese because the director want's to give the lead actress work. At this point they're almost entertaining on their own but are simply to boring at times. Embed related always gives me some good keks.

They did. Shenmue used QTEs differently, it actually tied them in to actions you would do, a kick would be the kick button, a punch the punch button, a dodge dodge and so on. God of War and RE4 started the "PUSH A RANDOM BUTTON TO ADVANCE!" bullshit which then grew popular.

Wow you're fucking right. It always bugged me why QTEs are so widely bemoaned but I don't find them that awful in theory because I associate them with Shenmue. That's fucking it, that random bullshit. It was just L1 + R1 before why fuck is it now X + [] or whatever else.

Retarded opinion and you know it faggot, CG movies are okay, but the Anderson movies from Pedowood? where all of the movies tend to fuck each other back to back and nothing ever changes? and the reason why they scratch each movies standalone cast and was because Anderson couldn't let Russian prostitute waifu not get any work or why he keeps insisting that she be a Mary Sue and every RE character they cast gets killed.

Vendetta had a really nice ass in it though.

That was so terrible. And that axe was some bad CGI. It was almost good. Almost.

fuck you geek

vendetta was trash the first two were okay though.

Leon's action packed trip to Slavlands was the best

Go back to

He brings up extremely valid points though

If 6 has a more focused experience it would have been a lot better. The problem is the game is constantly changing and never really lets you just sit back and enjoy it until you play mercenaries.

Jake's campaign in particular is riddled with nonsensical instadeaths and QTE that awkwardly pop up out of nowhere and will lead you back to a checkpoint. Also, they really blue balled player 2 in Jake's campaign.

6 is an extremely flawed gem if only for the maneuverability and combat.

And then they did it anyways once they got to the backwater areas
Which none of the journalists made it to

You do realize you're the fallout 3 fans of the resident evil right?

As someone who has spent too many hours in the game, I find RE6 to be kinda unpolished, a case of quality substituted with quantity.
My main gripes with it being:
-The cover system feels clunky and sometimes unnecessarily forces me to a cover position if I'm trying to aim near a wall.
-Camera angle changes are ass at times and can result in unnecessary damage taken or even death (like when running from the tonk in Jake/Sherry 3rd chapter).
-Enemies continue moving during the unskippable cutscenes. Atleast you can't take damage during them, but it can happen once the gameplay resumes.
-When you are constantly interrupted by unskippable cutscenes. This is prevalent during the last parts of Leon/Helena's 1st chapter for example.
-Just slightly tilting your camera while running can cause you to slide over an object or jump down a ledge (might mainly be a problem for mouse users).

I also found the health block system with the partial regeneration a bit strange, plus it would be nice to be able to pick up and combine herbs straight if you don't have space in your inventory.
The inventory itself kinda worked, but felt clunky at times if you needed to find something fast.

When I played this with my friend on higher difficulties, those cutscenes were the death of us. There were a few where we both started the cutscene at full HP, then when it gave us back control, one of us was dead on the ground. Fucking hated that shit.

Look at the 4chan with the Res 4 meme.

Go back to Overwatch nigger, you don't have a clue.

Is that rebecca's butt?
Because that kinda looks like her alternate costume in zero.

Needs more slow motion. Jesus christ was that bad.

I always get a kek when he gets up after the shot in the chest and the music starts up again. The RE series is the series you watch with a full bottle of vodka and a cheese pizza. Good times are to be had until the 4rth movie. Then you gotta grit through the tougher bits to get to the flavor.

Some faggot is cluttering the catalogue with another RE thread crying about RE storytelling of all fucking things.

Never understood how standing armies would lose to zombies. Let's say you got a infected city. Everyone there is a zombie. Ok. Just quarentine the outskirts of the city and move forward. Zombies run at best jogging speed. Tanks and other military vehicles could easily run them over since they are now MRAPS. .50 Cal would tear up flesh and slow down the hoard. Infantry will pick off whatever is left. Everyone will know what a zombie is when it happens because of media. it's so popular and common. Shit since it's the USA it's not like local militas won't group up with local PD and go cleaning up.

well wouldn't be much of a survival horror game if the army came in and just moved them all down

How do you access Not a Hero on the PC version? Do I need a complete save file?

I finished the game on another PC.

Military takes time to respond to things. Consider how much effort it takes to transport all those people and everything they need. Mean while hundreds of thousands are infected, many of who will leave the city via mass transport to other cities and countries. Many more will just wander into the woods.

Now you have an entire nation under zombie outbreak and all your supply lines are fucked because of it. Now tell me how you plan to use your army when it has no bullets, no food and no gas.

This is without considering you're going to have to kick down every door in the city and send a SWAT team in where 1 mistake means you lose a member and potentially gain a new foe.

Zombies were never supposed to be SPOOKY BAD MONSTERS as they are now. They're supposed to be a reflection of long term survival with limited ability to gain resources. They surround you, and they wait, they just wait. Either you go insane or you starve to death. There's no future, there's no hope, there's just an eternity of cabin fever if you can some how find a way to grow food. This is why a single zombie isn't a big issue but an outbreak is. Zombies aren't supposed to fight you head on, they grind you down through siege tactics like medieval warfare used to use.

On the ground, now

History proves you wrong.

...

That's not remotely how quarantines are handled in real life, that kind of method is just pure fiction to raise the stakes for the audience. Realistically everyone would be forbidden to leave the quarantine zone and would simply be left to die, oh and the country and state would have strict screening of all people and goods in planes and ships.

That's assuming it even spreads like a disease, if it's supernatural voodoo people would just burn the bodies and leave it at that.

Turns out this is actually Chris. Seems he turned into a ginger skinny cuck around the same time Umbrella turned good. Can't wait for black muslim Jill in Res 8.

This is the scenario for every room in the city. every single one could be used as a hiding place and must be checked unless you want another outbreak

It doesn't matter, no one leaves and no one enters everyone is simply left to die. Then the place is cleared out to the extreme, the US has done this before and they won't hesitate to burn everything to the ground if they have to.

You're retarded mate. You can't lock down a zombie virus as it takes time to incubate. It would be like Sars was/is. It spreads through national travel. You would need to burn every thing bigger than 5 mud huts.

I never got into the series but I always wanted to try as it seemed to me as if the games were basically cheesy action movies with horror themes in form of video game. I can see myself enjoying that, where should I start with the series? Should I play them by release date?

So it's just a dormant side effect that'll quickly become an uncommon symptom while 80% of people carry it unknowingly but can be treated or otherwise. Yeah no Apocalypse there, just an annoying occurrence like the ghouls in the sewers of New York. Zombies get reported everything gets sealed and quarantined then everything in the quarantine is killed.

RE:make is considered the best in the series and is the first in the story. But it'll make everything after it a bit lack luster.

Try RE1 and if you can't take it try 2 or Remake.

I'm dealing with a retard who doesn't understand using an example of how a virus can spread.

The SARS outbreak in 2003 was only 8,098 people worldwide, US quarantine had nobody die from it and it didn't actually spread effectively. US Quarantine is pretty good, Australia is also damn good because of their neighbors being China.

Yea, no thanks Capcom. I enjoyed RE7, it was flawed but I enjoyed it. I didn't want RE's over the top bullshit and you brought it back full bore. You had a goddamn winning formula doing something different and it only took you a year to shit on it and drag it right back into the cess pit you had made RE that forced you to abandon it a second time and start fresh.

They should've just named RE4 something else tbh. It's not a bad game but was still disappointing for those who actually wanted more resident evil games instead of something completely different. After RE4 it only got worse and the series turned into a cheap Gears of Wars clone like every fucking console game of the time. Sad! Now they're trying to copy Amnesia which is nice I guess for those who liked the horror element of the series but it's still silly to keep the series alive just for the sake of brand recognition.

...

Daily reminder that ironic shitposting is still shitposting.

Any RE after CV is shit except for Revelations.

Even the REmake, Outbreak, and RE0?Well there is merit to say that for RE0?And Which Revelations? The first or the second?
The first one the issue was that both chris and jill felt like they're just tacked on for you to even give a shit to even buy the game but don't bring anything to the story, infact if the italian man was the star of the game and not a side character it makes more sense. Also the game felt like the game wouldn't end right about when they enter one of the ship's lab. The second game problems's stem from the fact that it was a episodic release. The retread of the same area twice for each chapter, the game being littered with one way slopes, and feeling a bit too short. Again claire seems just tacked on, granted you could argue that barry is too, but there's at least motivation for him to be there. His daughter is like the Life is Strange bitch but she does mellow out in the DLC with the island slav, they should of done that earlier in the actual game.

Why is Rebecca scared?

she saw my magnum dong.

That's a neat analysis of the story, but I made my statement by judging the gameplay of all the games; I personally could care less about the story. The overall design of REmake was too similar to RE1 to count it as a different game, RE0 had annoying inventory management and both Outbreak and RE0 increases too much tactical advantage of the player(s) by having 2 characters engaging enemies simultaneously, reducing the 'horror' feeling of the games. I referred to the first Revelations, and even then, it suffered from the chapter-isation of the gameplay since it gives too much breathing room for the player; it induces feelings like "Oh, the chapter ended. Let's wait here for a moment and let's see if I get to control other character so I don't have to face the consequences of wasting my entire ammunition on that monster I just fought soon."

She read

RE1 is an AitD ripoff with inferior puzzles, inferior weapons, inferior writing, and inferior atmosphere.

RE2 is RE1 with even worse atmosphere while still retaining the shitty controls.

RE3 is RE2's downgrades taken even further.

RE4 has better combat but the controls are still shit and the game is linear garbage with excessive action that makes the control scheme feels even more shitty.

RE5 and RE6 are just irredeemable shits.

Best RE, and the Dank Souls of RE coming through.

pick one

Capcom literally admitted they wanted the Call of Duty audience when RE6 was still in development. It doesn't get any more reddit than that.

RE1:
Haven't played

RE2:
(Initial response): Pretty good.
(After finding out you can put in the B disk BEFORE the A disk to get a different story): Hey, this is awesome.

RE3:
Holy shit, fighting Nemesis and new ammo is awesome.

RE4:
(Initial response): I don't like the not-zombies, but gameplay is awesome.
(Later response): Best RE ever.

RE5:
(Initial response) Good, but RE4 is still better
(Later response after finding out what was cut from the game because RAYCISM): GOD DAMN IT CAPCOM

RE6:
Sucked so hard I didn't play the rest of the 2 campaigns.

RE7:
Shameless Silent Hills- hype cashgrab. Watched on Youtube, because fuck you.

Make no mistake, it is as obvious with the fate of Silent Hill that the "mainline" games are the only ones that don't suck. 5-7 can suck my G-virus infected dong.

You need to play RE1, REmake and code veronica, fam.

four eyes was cute

game was bad though

Dubs

Its long past time for this slut to make a comeback.

yeah you need to beat the game i think…my shit was actually fucked myself had to go into steam>library>right click game>properties>DLC tab and then uncheck and recheck it for the fuckin thing to install.

wasnt as bad as every overdramatic faggot makes it out to be, but chris IS overpowered. Play it on hard mode for a better experiance.

Always made me giggle how unprepared the BSAA were against bio-terror in RE6. I can see why Chris left for Umbrella since Umbrella actually know to wear gas masks.

to what end?

play with the wii mote

Muh nostalgia faggotry.

madame president

Are you a bad enough dude to FUCK the presidents daughter?

how HARD must your nipples have to be in order to be visible through a SWEATER

Its Maria, a new character from the movie

Is the next game a post apocalyptic america as the result of her presidency?

isn't there always an apocalypse somewhere in america in the RE universe anyway? I think umbrella corps mentioned that there are so many outbreaks happening that the BSAA can't handle them all and a bunch of spooks and PMCs go in and get paid to lift shit from them or clean them up

RE4 is one of the best 00's games, but it sucks as horror comparing to other games of franchise. The main reason of why new games loses in atmosphere is that capcom don't care about epic music background like it was especially during ps1 era.

I mean in terms of the combat and overall controls I guess; but in terms of the atmosphere and actually being scary, I'd have to go with the old tank control fixed camera RE games. I also really like the level design in those games, though that's just personal preference for the most part.

spoiler that gore you degenerate retard.

I second this.

Never before in the history of all Holla Forums have I heard an opinion as wrong as yours. The first three Resident Evils were one of the pinnacles of survival horror, surpassed only by magnae opii like the Silent Hill series.

Silent hill franchise is overrated. Only 2 and 3 are great games, 1 is pretty mid for sh and the rest are full of shit like AitD

bruh 1 and 3 were lightyears beyond 2

the rear end mostly.

I never understood why western artist insist on making so much shemale rule34. And before anyone corrects me that they're supposed to futa, which is still kinda gay, how come they never put fucking pussy on them? This can easily averted by doing a clit dick instead of including balls with the dick.

Because the west is filled with closet homos, i guess it is sadly a tradition inherited from the greco-romans.

You had best be joking, nigger, because almost 40% - I'd wager - of exhentai is full of gay porn shit - and that's when I use just the manga and doujinshi tags.

Not even Sweden or Finland is remotely as gay as Japan.

Helena's ass was better

Helena is shit.

you wanna fucking die?

Resident Evil was never scary and it can't BECOME scary. It was a cheesy action movie turned video game at best from the very start.

Your waifu is SHIT man, no other way about it.

It scared me when it first came out.

Just because something can scare children doesn't mean it's a horror game. Is DOOM a horror game?

I mean, was any horror game truly scary rather than spooky?

Doom never scared me though, you killed demons with lots of cool weapons while metal blasted in the background.
Homever, resident evil, silent hill, clock tower 2 and diablo did.

RE needs to return to its roots or be left for dead, not morph into an entirely different type of game every couple of lazily shat out sequels. Numbered sequels that have almost nothing to do with the foundation of the series.

Faggots like you are the problem. You are the reason shitty side-entries that experiment with retarded focus group imagined shitstorms have managed to masquerade as main entries. In the past, before faggots like you, that shit would have flopped and the series would move forward. Then slowly as shit taste mouthbreathing retards, like yourself, grew in numbers this beautiful system of side entries or original titles either succeeding or flopping on their own merit just fucking withered away.

I wish that any of you faggots that dislike the start of the series could explain why you have any right to an opinion on the direction of the series.

OMFG SO CUMBERSOME AND HARD TO UNDERSTAND! WHY CONTROLS ORIENTED TO CHARACTER INSTEAD OF WORLD!? WHY IT BE DIFFERENT!? BE SAME! ME NEED SAME CONTROLS IN EVERY GAME!

RE stole other game's roots to begin with.

So what? That kind of gameplay is still it's roots. Code Veronica was the last good Resident Evil.

Fixed camera doesn't fit the more action-heavy gameplay RE aims for. AitD had a lot more puzzles and text than RE, that's why it was made in such perspective. RE4 and RE7 had better grasp on what kind of game RE should be, but unfortunately they're chokeful with stupid level design and scripted action unlike the old games. The problem with modern RE's truly has nothing to do with the camera perspective, the issue is within the level design and gameplay philosophy. It doesn't matter if it's fixed camera, third person camera, or first person camera if the game is designed like shit.

Why are AitD fags like yourself so threatened by RE?

Yeah that's a good question although Alone in the Dark and Resident Evil share many qualities playing both I would consider Alone in the Dark as being an adventure game

RE is a classic survival horror, what "action heavy" you refer to? It was always about avoiding zombies and saving bullets for when you need it. And if you need an actual action game with fixed camera, PE2 exists. RE also had puzzles, as shitty as they were, particularly Code Veronica and RE3.
Says who? The 3 first games were made with fixed camera and the level design was pretty good as the serie went on to RE3. Kill yourself, user.

I wouldn't go that far, they are both survival horror, regardless of camera perspective, the point is save bullets, don't getting into pointless fights and solving puzzles to keep going, that perfectly describe both games.

did they bang?

...

This, many people tailor their tastes around what ecelebs like Brit say. RE6 is a fucking trash dumpster fire of a game, I don't care if you thought it was fun because there were lots of explosions, you're essentially the same kind of braindead retard normalfag who thinks Fast and Furious is high art because the muscles and big boomy sounds tickle a part of his peanut mongoloid brain that makes his pee pee feel good.

It was shit in design and execution. It was a linear Gears of War clone with a million fucking QTEs and schizophrenic execution. I couldn't give two shits about the plot, but fuck me, the rest of the game is just so fucking ass I have to rate it shit/10 just for that.

If you genuinely think RE6 is a good game, and that Capcom should continue to make more REs like it, then kindly french kiss the end of a shotgun and remove your genetics from the gene pool, society would be better off without you.

I seriously hope that was bait, you can't be THAT stupid

I would, you make it sound as if Resident Evil is skimpy on the ammunition it is in fact the opposite you need to save the ammo from wasting it on Zombies to shoot the Hunters, Dogs, and bosses. Alone in the Dark opens with a puzzle to stop a fight and in fact avoiding fights via solving puzzles is one of the primary things you will be doing for a good chunk of the game and the higher tier of enemies that show up later are in fact unbeatable or so difficult that you need those 7 rifle bullets and you'll be thankful you get a sword. Overall Alone in the Dark and Resident Evil being compared to being exactly the same doesn't jive.

kinda

dynasty-scans.com/chapters/super_girl_ni_osowareru

RE is inferior in every way but graphics, but it's more successful. On top of that AitD's sequels

Are you implying that running to avoid enemies isn't action? Compare it to AitD where you can skipping combat by doing things, not running past them. Though combat still exists, most of them could be skipped.

The design philosophy is flawed.

This is true though. I don't remember RE1, but in RE2 onwards, you unlock bonuses for completing the game under a time limit.

**I would totally suck last webm's dick for breakfast lunch and dinner

I have to second OP's opinion about Resident Evil working better as a third-person shooter.

While I enjoyed the early Resident Evil games, the fixed camera always baffled me as an utterly retarded design choice that utterly killed any sense of immersion and horror, was complete ass when it came to the action scenes and ultimately not well-suited to the type of game RE was even back then. Beyond "muh nostalgia" can anyone actually name a legitimate reason why fixed camera worked better for RE than third or even first-person?

Resident Evil 7 was OK but it didn't really feel enough like Resident Evil, more like F.E.A.R. or Outlast masquerading as an RE game.

Resident Evil 4, I think, managed to nail exactly what Resident Evil should be better than any of the other games. Goofy action games with some horrifically violent shit every now and then. Trying to make them into full-on serious horror games was always a mistake, there are games that do it better than RE ever will anyway.

As for Resident Evil 5, vid related is the best thing about the game.

there will never be another RE with tank controls

They made him look like an older version of his Resident evil 1 appearance.

RE7 is kinda already pseudo tank controls, it's so slow strafing left, right or moving backwards that you might as well just steer your self with the camera stick, and quick turn.

THIS 100%
This user gets it.

I also don't understand those retards bitching about "tank controls" and fixed cameras, asking for Remake 2 to be another lame over-the-shoulder TPS because they don't like the originals.
Why do you think you should have a say in how a remake of a game you don't like nor care about should be made, when it's clearly not for you?
These retards should stick to COD and ASSFAGGOTS and fuck off.

He looks half black here.

Latest RE's are lame because they're heavily scripted, almost linear trash, not because they're fps/tps anyway. Even if they brought back the fixed camera, without fixing the level design it would still be shit.

It's the shadows that makes him look like that. Here's an example of the REmake model with out shadows.

Wrong

Dumbass.

influenced by != copy, else every game after the original donkey is a carbon copy of that game

*Original Donkey Kong

A reminder that 6 is a good but flawed game and is infinitely better than the shitshow that is 7.

gay chart written by some massive faggot

Fuck off, Kike

No. If I wanted a """"""""horror"""""""" TPS, I'd play trash like Dead Space or Evil Within
It literally isn't, not when the Castle and Island sections (2/3rds of the game) are at best a mediocre slog and at worst some of the worst sections in the mainline. It also peaked right at the start and went downhill from there.
Much more interesting than actual Leon and Meme Leon (from RE4). And he has actual motivations in CV as well as 5. Also, he is the manliest character in the series, especially in CV.
It had four 20 hour campaigns for 7 characters. Sure, the Leon and Ada ones are complete shit, but the Chris and Jake ones are legitimately great.
Finally, a correct statement.
4D Executer, Degeneration and Damnation, sure. Vendetta? Fuck no, one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Why the quotations around horror? They were, by the definition, survival-horror, their goal was to create tension via means of questioning your survival. Only people who didn't feel that tension were pussies who didn't play as Chris or didn't buy the Dreamcast version of RE2 to play Nightmare mode.
They have more and better story than the games you're talking about. The combination of 2, 3 and the Outbreak games will always hold some of the best moments in the series, and the Gun Survivor side games are where some of the story really shines, especially in GS1 and 4. Not so much in 2, and the third one was a Dino Crisis game.
I don't like it either, but you kinda have to now, given the changes it made to the story.
RE3 Mercs and Battle Game are better than the actiontrash in 4 onwards.

Someone saved my post. Huh.
Guess I don't have to keep rewriting a copypasta about which games are the good ones anymore

It's all based on what you want.
Original has the main game, with both campaigns.
Director's Cut has an Arrange Mode added.
Dualshock has the Arrange Mode and shit music.
Saturn has an additional Tyrant in the Chris campaign and a battle game (proto Mercs)
PC I believe has the full colour opening.
DS has a new gimmick mode and a multiplayer mode, as well as an RE4-style knife and new sprites.
PS3 version is the Dualshock version
PS1 is the four campaigns, sans Extreme Battle Mode (either that or the Survivor modes)
N64 is same as above, but it adds in a Randomizer (basically Arranged Mode) and the EX Files, which tie it into RE3, CV and 0.
Greatest Hits (PS1) adds in the missing mode and also has an infinite ammo cheat.
The GCN version is a straight port of the Greatest Hits version
PC and Dreamcast are the same, only difference is the name of an added hard mode. Dreamcast calls it Nightmare mode, PC calls it Hard. Also, they both have remappable controls.
There is also a Sourcenext PC port, Jap only.
It's on PS3 as well, the version being used being the Director's Cut version.
Same as above, sans the N64 version and Greatest Hits changes. No added difficulty as well.
Also, you can get a mod on PC that makes the backgrounds look better. Think it's called Environmental Backgrounds mod. Only for RE3 though.
The Dreamcast original release is the most different, as the original cutscenes have Wesker getting bullied by Alexia, and some cutscenes from the CVX release on everything else is taken out.
The GCN, PS2 and PS4 releases are all the same, with the PS4 version being an emulated PS2 version.
The PS3 and 360 versions are HD ports that improve the lighting somewhat, but the cutscenes look jarring in areas, due to lighting changes making them brighter in some areas.
PS1 exclusive, unless you like shitty Taiwanese PC ports
PS2 JP and EU exclusive. Only has 2 canon files and is a dream Claire has at the halfway point of CODE:Veronica
One of the best games in the series, PS2 exclusive. All Gun Survivor games can be played with the Gun attachment for PS1/2
PS2 exclusives, and have long loading times due to originally being online. Can be played online by following the rules here: obsrv.org/
GCN and Wii are the original versions. HD rereleases have little differences other than 0 having DLC costumes and REmake having RE5 LiN costumes. HD versions are on PS4, PC, Xbox One, 360 and PS3
GCN version lacks the Ada sidestory.
Wii has Wiimote aiming
PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, One and the Steam release are all the same.
The original Ubisoft port to PC is shit. Don't play it.
3DS has the least content, but is the original version.
PS3, PS4, Xbox One, 360, PC and Switch are all the same. Wii U has the extra screen
PS3, 360, PS4, One and PC are all the same, only difference being resolution and FPS.
PS3 Gold Edition has move compatibility though, giving an RE4 on Wii feel.
PS3, PS4, 360, One, PC and Switch are all the same.
Vita is a downgrade, but it's portable.
Same as 5, with the exception of Gold Edition.
Physical English versions on Wii. Physical Jap versions on PS3, but there are digital English versions.
Both have motion controls compatibility.
Shit game, but it's on PS3, 360 and PC.
RE5 Mercs on 3DS.
Non-canon GameBoy Color game.
The good movies
The bad movies
PS4, One and PC, PS4 is currently the only one with VR, Gold Edition is the best version.

What? It's shit and made shit changes to the story.

I didn't say they are exactly the same, I meant that Alone in the Dark wouldn't really fit an Adventure Game when it's a survival horror, always keeping you on your toes, and having to save ammunition for when you fuck up or something similar. They both follow the same philosophy even though they differ from each other in some aspect, because both of them are about the same thing: Survive with the little you're giving.
And you're going to need it to survive hunters, dogs and bosses, and the amount of dangerous enemies increased as the series went on.

Just because AitD came first doesn't make it better than RE, faggot. How is RE inferior to AitD?
But in many case you also need to run past danger first in order to deactivate it or get items you may need, like the Ghost that is in the chair that turns in some weird tornado. You can skip combat in RE in many instances too, even though it forces more combat that AitD. I'm completely sure the reason AitD was designed that way was for system limitations more than anything.
Says who? Faggot.
That's a shitty recurring theme in Survival Horrors for some reason, it happened in Silent Hill and Parasite Eve. Pretty sure it's to encourage speedruns, but it's still shitty.

Not exactly
PS2 has prerendered cutscenes only
PS2, PS3 and x360 have missing effects and reduced audio quality I couldn't get a definitive answer on that one but apparently the reduced audio quality is still present in the first gen HD ports
PS4, Xbone have almost everything the new PC version has but the framerate isn't consistent and I think you're stuck with 60fps limiter correct me if I'm wrong on that one and they might miss a few effects the new PC version had put back in from the GCN version.

Yes
Sure
WRONG

Those shit changes are canon.
And while it's subpar for an RE game (most things made after 0 are subpart except Lost in Nightmares and REv2), it's good for an FPS horror game. Mainline REs are usually top tier for the genre they're in, even the ones people say are shit

Give me one argument why RE should have fixed camera that isn't muh immershun.

Resident Evil 2 is actually incredibly easy.

I forgot how much more you have to kill enemies in it and how much more ammo they give you.

Its definitely more combat oriented than 1. REmake truly is the superior version of Resident Evil.
Going to play through 3 soon. Considering going for the Gatling Gun just to dick around a bit.

Only died like twice going through strictly on memory. Birkin's third form did some Street Fighter combo on me and killed me in one shot.

Also REmake 2 fucking whennnnn, stop shilling RE7 and make the game we all WANT to play.

>>>/reddit/

They give you a lot of ammo in 3 as well, you just gotta check the cgi corpses. As soon you get the eagle hand gun the game is on easy street due to it's rate of fire and random crits. If you don't fight nemesis but do the right choices you can get the hand gun in the clock tower. (meeting carlos choice, and clock tower choice) Or if you do fight him you can get as early as the police station.

...

Plus, the actual root of Resident Evil is System Shock esque FPS.

You do realize that this only matters in the first RE since you don't have auto aim in that one, right? I remember spamming the change target button a lot if I heard shuffling off screen before moving/shooting in every classic RE except 1.

...

...

That's like calling someone a casual for using the lock on system in DMC, any of souls games, or the charge shot in mega man games. Sure it makes the game easier but the game doesn't punish you for it and expects you to use it. If the devs wanted to create more tension they could of just never put in the auto aim in the first place, but they did.

t. casual retard

If i'm a casual retard then the only 'good' resident evil is the 1st one then.

We all already know that the Resident Evil community is pretty gay.

(heiled)
Triple Fuhrer speaks the truth.

It's really the camera that fucks people over, I remember when RE4 came out people were saying RE4 fixed the clunky controls that plauged when all that changed did was having the camera behind your shoulder and free aim.

Oh god, those things are so good when it comes to action.

Sadly even the cute NPCs are looking to be killed off where RE7 is taking the series.

Don't watch the damn Live action movies, they're so fucking unwatchable now; than god that last one was the finale.

Once you notice those ears; you'll never be able to unsee.

No one can; fans nor canon can tell me that they didn't cuddle.

How would you compare the Mercs mode to the others?

chris is shit
leon is emo
rebecca is cute

my nigga, I always thought it was a fun game, beeing from umbrellas perspective and playing the bad guys for once. I still don't understand why Hunk does not have his own game yet.

is there truly any RE girl that isn't cute?

Albert Wesker's sister

ok then, can you defend this.

before or after being part of natalia?

You got that in 2015. It was called Resident Evil: Revelations 2. As for the future, you're never getting something like that again.

Holla Forums, who is best Resident Evil, and why is it Elza Walker? Also, why did they replace her with an overall worse girl in Bearenstain universe?

That's Ada and Rebecca. Claire had a clear character and story arc that ended, those two lack both of those.

Fucking shitty revelations 2 had a bug that whne you tab out then go back in and unpause it will keep pausing the game until you restart.

As far as the entire series is concerned, Claire is clearly the best girl out of the lot. She's also the only character I can think of in the series whose design has been consistently improving as the years go by.

I never had that issue, so it doesn't exist. :^)

The same people who complained about tank controls are the same people who played REmake and RE0 remaster widescreen. By Code Veronica and Outbreak the camera was fixed but mobile, the same for Haunting Ground. That's where the camera angles were heading until they moved it over the shoulder.

All the new ones in RE6. Especially that one woman who looks like the square-jawed lady from SVU.

So the Dewritos Pope is now officially Chris? Wow.

She looks like Toby Maguire in Revelations 2

I'm not seeing the likeness, but I suppose it's okay if you suffer from propsopagnosia.

...

Wow, they look completely different from one another. What a shock.

I think the point is new Claire is fucking ugly.

Please, why would anybody have any reason not to accept the premise that Chris Redfield is working for Umbrella, Inc. at face value? I am personally invested in my own theory that Chris is evil now and is working as Wesker's right hand man on his private island facility (the Wesker fought in RE5 was just a clone) and Ethan's ex-wife and Lucas Baker are also among his creme de la creme entourage while Jill Valentine and the protags of RE2 are imprisoned and have undergone radical genetic modifications to become even more advanced super soldiers than Jill was in RE5. It's all explained here: fanfiction.net/s/12593027/1/Resident-Evil-7-Biohazard-2-Resident-Evil-8-Superhazard

...

You might have inferred that, but it isn't what he said. Of course, you're entitled to shit opinions, but most anons agree that Claire is best as a dyke who corrupts underage girls.

That is dumb even for a Resident Evil story

Whodathunkit; only thing Tobey needed to not look like a candy ass was facial hair!

>brown and bloom
>press in 1 nanosecond or you're dead lol
>having to babysit ashley while she keeps getting in the way during combat tell her to wait and she gets kidnapped
>buying all your weaponry from a (((merchant))) in the middle of fuck-all instead of discovering weapons through exploration
It was an "okay" game at best but a "masterpiece" is a severe overstatement.

Reminder that if you put her in the trash container where she belongs you never have any issue with her getting kidnapped or in the way.

RE4 was survival horror too nigger, barring the lower number of puzzles how is it any different from its predecessors in terms of mechanics?

It's not dumb. if anything, it makes Resident Evil more nuanced because even though the new virus Wesker would have infected Jill with would have given her incredible superhuman abilities like the ability to speed-read thousands of pages of books in under two hours, the trauma she would have endured from being kidnapped by Chris Redfield and held against her will and subsequently being experimented on would have damaged her psychological well-being and it would have turned out that the Merchant in RE4 was actually Wesker in disguise and he was providing fabulous amounts of firepower to Leon so that he could unwittingly allow him to get the Plaga sample for him and this puts the events of RE4 into a brand new perspective and Wesker could have also spent R&D time not only on BOW's but also on Biological Organic Transports that would be genetically engineered to be as big as a hummers but also cybernetically engineered to have GPS navigation systems, car seats, steering wheels, and DVD players to make it a viable replacement for the car.**

you just answered your own question with your action horror definition

Funny, the first time I played RE2 I never got the shotgun from the gun shop owner at the beginning of the game. Because I had played Silent Hill beforehand and still had the idea that shotguns can only be acquired later into the game as an "upgrade" from the hand gun, to match enemies of increased difficulty…
Nonetheless, having no shotgun definitely made the game more challenging to me.

RE4 didn't have shitloads of ammo for you to blast away at every single enemy, you definitely ran at times. Unless of course you're playing on easy L4D difficulty.

I dunno man, it had plenty of ammo, and so did most of the REs in fact

except for RE1 on arrange mode, there wasn't enough ammo for that, that shit was hard

missing the first shotgun is understandable, but missing the second one? I think it's either in the STARS locker or the room with the valve, either way, that's p bad

That's actually pretty clever, I wish there was a game like that…

?????????????????????
you're playing on easy difficulty aren't you

wrong.

bruh this is on normal mode
did you seriously not know this?

re4 had more than enough ammo to blast away at every single enemy, especially if you weren't retarded and took the TMP as soon as you could

No, I didn't read any guides whatsoever and just depended on finding everything through exploration, sad to know that I didn't explore enough.
I recall multiple times I ran out of ammo (spanning all guns, not just the one you start with) and considering I was very selective about who to shoot at. Sometimes I even found myself stuck and reverted to an earlier save where I can avoid more enemies and save more ammo.

my man, let this be a lesson
gain an incredibly autistic sense of exploration and discovery because there are tons of hidden items in RE1, 2, and 3
did you at least get the submachine gun/item belts?

but I suppose it's ok, I never knew the spark shot existed because of where it was placed and how awkward it was to pick it up until like last year

Don't feel bad, it could be worse it could be clicking a single desk like 15+ times just for a single hidden memo and under no circumstances does the text change when you click it.

It's extremely hard to completely run out of ammo if you're actually playing smart.

I got the belt and left the gun for Claire
Also I assume by "spark shot" you mean the emergency flare thing that you light up with your lighter?

So going through every area looking for visible ammo and only shooting to kill (minimum number of bullets to kill an enemy are fired and they all hit)? Because that's exactly what I've been doing and it didn't always work.

The trick is to ignore the zombies as much as possible, they're small fry.

in the same spot you find shotgun parts as leon, you find an entirely new gun that does a shitload of damage to enemies as claire
I also never got into that room that required 2 signatures despite doing everything right there

Taking advantage of piercing / AoE, herding the fuckers ain't too bad in some places, also flashbangs killing plagas zombies outright except one.
Environmental damage also..
Keeping in mind that upgrading ammo capacity gives you a fresh mag for free, especially with the fucking rifle
Not falling for the "muh mine launcher polluting the ammo drop pool" meme
Just buy a fucking RL for El Gigante / Verdugo
Raw damage per bullet > Everything else

Nah kill all the fuckers.

They're talking about Resident Evil 2, Most Zombies don't need to be killed and should be avoided.

Wasn't anythiung in to warrant unless you thought the second part referred to RE2 which isn't the case because

has

Oh they're talking about both.

I particularly hate QTE's where you have to mash a button. It's enough of a pain in the ass for a normal person to do it but, for somebody that's incapable of doing that because of a physical handicap: it renders a game unbeatable.

(checked)
Elaborate. How do you even play vidya at all? if you don't mind me asking

There are some people who have some kind of nerve disorder that disallows them from mashing buttons like you would be expected to in QTE's but they can do just about anything else with a controller just fine.
