Behold, anons. Literally the only thing of note from the several hour fuckfest that was PSX 2017.
I guess that leak a few months ago about them making a remaster was true. Isn't this the second remaster they've done? I remember there being a PSP one as well.

Would it fucking kill them to make a new entry or reboot the series?

Would you really want that in current year +2?

What could possibly go wrong with an action platformer?

The PSP remake.

Eh, it's gonna be shit.
Medievil 2 was shit too but at least had ok gameplay

ME2 had more polished gameplay and more memorable enemies imo, and gameplay is the main thing that you should care about.

I beat MediEvil on a PSX emu like 4 years ago to satisfy my nostalgia because I hadn't beaten it when I first played it on the PS1.

Why the fuck would anyone want a remake of this game? Beating it once is enough. I can't even replay it because it sucks and this remake will too.

Don't get me wrong. I liked playing the game but I always loved the atmosphere and world of the first game more. Putting the game in Victorian England was a mistake if you ask me.

You suck nerd

How do you live everyday with such a shit taste?

Putting the game into a "cheap quality cartoon show" was a mistake.

Except 2 had less features, less replayability and a had garbage setting.

There are tons of good games with little replayability. Whatever.

Nice how you tried deflected only a single part of the criticism :^).
The point here is that stages were made interesting enough to play several times, so on a first playthrough it would be more interesting than a stage from 2. And unlike 2nd game, there are whole sections hidden behind exploration or chalice progression.

Aren't you the nerd boyo? The game was easy and relatively mediocre…why hold on so tight except to shill?

MediEvil is now indicative of taste, really? Brave Fencer Musashi was a much better action game and it got a shitty sequel that was essentially a remake. It was mediocre, kind of clunky, and didn't stick out in my mind as anything other than ugly levels and good action.

Oh yeah you are retarded, filtered

Yes.
Shit taste.

I'm not gonna question the other two because I mostly agree but that one I simply don't see.

Before everything, every mechanic that was tied behind exploration ranging from weapons themselves to openworldedness.
Stages with special conditions and rules. If you think about it, pretty much every stage has something going for it where in 2 only stage I remember that is like that is where you have to disguise yourself while running from cops city stage.
The boss fight.
Subtle charm, design.
More cg animations.
I don't remember keys being present in 2.
etc.

In medieval 2 if you do everything and get all the chalices you get a bad ending.

The only thing of note to come out of PSX, and I'm still wholly underwhelmed.

The amount of good stuff to come out for the PSX was ridiculous, only matched by the SNES and PS2.

He means the event PSX, not the PS1.

Oh, that flew under my radar.

man, sony's going to be in trouble once they run out of ps1 games to remaster.
i guess they'll just start all over again, releasing ps5 remasters of ps4 remasters of ps3 games

In medieval 2 if you play and complete the game you get a bad ending.

...

So, if you kill your enemies they win?

Meh
Looks like they are going for the stupid and cartoony look of the psp remake instead of the creepy look of the original one.
what a wasted opportunity.

The MedieEvil series could use a Souls-like reboot

el oh el. The vidya industry is currently where Hollyjew is in terms of creative bankruptcy. Hopefully it gets fucked by a snowballing sexual harassment scandal too.

So I guess sony is remastering all of their old classics? I can't tell if its just the compression but it looks like shit visually.

You forgot vid related, user.

You know the weirdest thing? The pilot was actually good. How did they fuck up the whole series so much? Is it because it relied only on shock humor? Is it because their creators are unreliable hacks and their staff changed every twenty minutes? Is it the pop culture references? Why are autists so in love with this shit that they line up to McD's to get a fictional sauce?

They just started relying too much on LOL RANDUMB XD UPVOTE humor. Between having entire episodes dedicated to it, and having most of their jokes be random sounds and random "ALIEN" things, they just rely on a gimmick that only really works on Reddit. And I suppose it paid off, they made bank, but I'd rather they kept their dignity.

I WANT SZECHUAN SAUCE

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools… how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Like clockwork

didn't they swapped most of the staff with minority hires for that sweet progressive cred?

The Holla Forumsfag that worked on it fucked off after season 3 and femikike writers took over the show. He even admitted the show was shit.

Worse. WOMEN

please tell me more

I guess that explains all the LOL SO RANDUMB XDDDDDDD

He was active on Holla Forums like a year ago or so talking to people.

8/co/

the constant waves of downtime we went through sure did heavy damage on h8chan's traffic

don't worry it went back up! with cuckchan rapeugees

I'M PICKLE RIIIICK

Kikes ruin everything user.

I noticed that as well.
Especially that one time in 2015 or 16 where we were down for a week or so. We never really recovered from that.

I never thought I'd see an ad that was also a parody of itself.

Maybe muh IQ isn't high enough

Oh cool, a new Medievil. Maybe I'll buy a PS4 no…

They're likely using this to test the waters for a new reboot, like what they did with Ratchet and Clank.

Was medievil that popular though? I always had the impression that it was niche game with a cult following.

A reboot is probably the way to go now. It's been 17 years since the last one, and the series isn't even set in medieval times anymore. Where do you go from there?

It sold well enough to warrant a sequel, but most of that popularity has faded away and this is pure nostalgia bait for people who grew up playing them.

By being cartoon The Big Bang Theory. They maybe had some borderline humorous science jokes in the pilot, but you could see it was just to setup the Star Trek-style "technobabble-joke" that is all the show is now. It's LCD shit for STEM faggots that can't into actual science.

I owned the PSP one at some point
Jesus christ I hope nothing is wrong with this. I can't remember the PSP one but I remember SOMETHING being very very wrong with it.

It was never about actual science. The source is a flash movie of Marty McFly licking Doc Brown's balls. The show taking itself too seriously, and falling for the whole "smartest show on TV" meme was actually part of the problem.

haha i like it when the silly science man say funny catchphrase :)

The camera was totally fucked on the PSP version, that's the main issue people had but there were other problems like the hit detection being bad.
The voice acting is great but that's about it. If they take the original game's gameplay and combined it with the PSP version's voice acting it would be a real treasure of a game.

I'm interested if it's a reboot, since that probably means it'll have new/different content compared to the original. If it's a remake/remaster I'm less so because there probably won't be any new surprises like that, but even still they might be able to make the gameplay more fluid (in terms of movement, attacking, switching between equipment, etc). Might be cool either way, I loved the original.
On another note, I really, really wish everyone would stop perpetuating this fucking annoying trend of releasing a new entry in a series and just giving it the title of the original game. They've done it with God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Tomb Raider, both Battlefront games, Doom, Hitman and now Medievil. I'm at the point where I actually feel relieved when a new installment in a long-established series gets announced and it actually has a subtitle or number at the end.

The original fucking sucks. I'm glad Resurrection is the version they went with.

LOL

That's not going to stop until every scrap of white culture has been overwritten with a Diverse™, Progressive™, Multicultural™ replacement. Children won't be able to find out that the old games even existed because searches will only turn up the nugames.

Why the fuck were all my posts on this thread deleted?

That image was exhausting to even gloss over. I'm going to bed.

...

not reboot, remaster, literally a 20 year old port but they charge full price

They did. They went out of their way to have a 50/50 male/female writing staff for season 3. Which many attribute to the hit-or-miss nature of it. Because they hired based on genitals and not merit. Although there are some good episodes from the female writers. The worst ones were from female writers.

Actually the sauce was real. It was part of a movie tie-in with Mulan. It's just that it's a sauce you could make easily and there were similar products that you could buy that were better, but it was hyped by Rick and Morty that fans demanded it be brought back and it brought their ilk into the real world.

Too bad they couldn't bring back actually interesting McDonald's food items with the power of autism like Arch Deluxe, McPizza or Onion Nuggets. With all that power, they bring back a sauce from an okay movie. What a waste of meme popularity that'll dry up with the next shit cartoon that the fandom parasite will latch onto.

Rick and Morty was never good. The only thing that makes it any different from the typical animated talmudvision cancer is that it's slightly better at being cancerous.

It didn't just fade away, it's just that everything that came out after chipped away from what greatness medievil 1 have achieved.
Medievil 2 was a cheap monday midday cartoon show cash grab and psp remake ->

That shield looks incredibly similar to the one the user here who designed dark soul's shield years ago. Maybe he got inspiration from Medieval. I only played the demo as a kid.

It's modeled off an actual style of shield, user.
There wasn't a technical name for these, they were just considered to be a type of heater shield.

lol sony got rid of the original devs almost a year ago, there's no chance in hell.

What was so bad about medievil 2?
I loved running around with a sword and board smacking zombies in MediEvil 1. It's a really fun game with a cool theme.

3 was an almost completely forgettable season. I think there was one episode that stood out as particularly memorable.

Overall it was a lesser version of what the first game was.
Without going much into detail medievil was subtle with it's theme and humor. For most of the game sir daniel was silent and could barely make any coherent responses, because he is a fucking skeleton without a jaw. And the only times we saw the antagonist were far and few inbetween (note: without any obnoxious dialogue). Once in the chapel-cemetery transition stage and once in the city, that's it.
The 2nd game was extremely cliched, cheap and low effort. Team of a comic relief, a love interest and a walking sitcom spewing comedy every sentence against a villain that has the dumb and the dumber henchmen. And that attitude transitioned across every other aspect of medievil 2.

Bayo 3 is way better news than this

If Crash can get a remaster after over a decade of shitty games and being given to the wolves I don't see how Spyro can't. It's not like kids don't know who Spyro is.

As a fan of Medievil 1&2, I like Medievil 2 but if you have played the first game its feeling like some kind of Add On and not a full game.
Medievil 1 was based around its open levels and each of it belonged to some overarching part of the story like get out of the graveyard, free the mayor, awake the demons etc.
In Medievil 2 there are still some open hub level similar to the "Enchanted Earth" level in Medievil 1, but the majority are bound to a pretty linear story that includes time travel.
The story iself not perfectly told, at one point in the game the big bad guy is talking to some other evil guy over the radio and its never explained who the guy at the other end is.
Also in a similar way to Spyro 2&3 compared to Spyro 1, Medievil 2 is a lot more gimmicky and contains mini games where you use Dan's new transformations. I bet the Iron Slugger fight is enough for most people to dislike Medievil 2.
Overall I still like its atmosphere and despite its crude story, it miles better than the shit that was Medievil Resurrection. If you want to play a game similar in humor to Medievil on the PSP, play Dead Head Fred and not the this turd.

The best part of that shitstorm was how James completely ignored it all and literally nothing happened. I wish more people recognized how much this exposed just how little influence these people actually have.

Mike got into trouble somewhat when that old racist webcomic of his was discovered. He ignored that too. I guess he did learn his lesson from mineycraft.

I think it was reasonably popular without selling literally millions. It worked back then, it had some fun ideas and a bit of character of its own. Not sure how it would carry over now though.

Yes sadly, SCEE Cambridge made a bunch of other good games after Medievil 1&2 but never had a real break through.
