The ghost thing may be another X Virus storyline, which wouldn't be anything new for Nintendo since they looooooooooooooooooooooove reusing the same duality motif over and over X virus, Prime 2, Dark Samus, Dark Link, future Hyrule, Wario, a Captain Falcon recolor, etc…

And the gameplay is combo based.
