Guys, I get really fucking salty when I keep topping the scoreboard and going for the objective, and my team doesn't. It just keeps happening. People don't go anywhere where they can be helpful, they don't do anything helpful, they run into enemies when teammates are signalling that they want to jump to them, they default to thinking every match is turf war until we've halfway lost and something pops up on screen telling them so, and my aim keeps drifting to the left for 60% of matches.

Place the controller flat on your lap for about 3-5 sec, until it stops drifting. It will fix itself. This pretty much always works. Alternatively, if it's being a problem every single game, try reconnecting the controllers or resetting game or resetting console.

And if your teammates aren't on objective, and it's more important that you get off it and go do something rather than stay on, say OVER HERE! and just fucking hop off and do your squidness. I thought it was just me, because I mixed my launch joycons with newer ones I bought. What I do is recenter them until it stops; sometimes I just switch them out instead.

I just play Turf War or Salmon Run when I get tired of ranked; I've never been knocked down from profreshional and so there's no stakes if my team is awful; I don't have anyone to play other game modes with.

But I doubt that there is such a big group of americans playing using jap usernames, so I'm sure it's real japs. Maybe, if your internet is not up to a certain par, they region-lock you specifically so it won't be an issue. That's all I can think of.

Quick Respawn is actually, literally useless. It only activates if you die twice without getting a single kill. Most of what you have is suboptimal, but abilities just augment skill so it doesn't matter as long as you're enjoying yourself.

It was added as a basic Switch feature a month ago; just hold down the Capture button for a moment, and it'll save the previous 30 seconds of gameplay.
As for uploading it, the only options right now are Kikebook and Twitstapo; I usually grab the posted video with a download tool, and WEBM it from there.

It's like they want to give me a monthly chuckle, but this one is far from their worst.

I'd like to try the SD card but I don't have one. From what I understand that's how you get the highest resolution stills so I'm banking on it being best for video too. Sometimes the twat videos are a blurry smear for half the video.

I've been playing with the brella for ten to twenty hours now. Tell me what you think of my prowess. I've only been playing for a little over 100 hours, but most of that was with other weapons.

Not shown here are the many deaths I've experienced, most often I believe due to closing the umbrella prematurely to avoid takeoff, which is something I need to improve on. I like the brella's play style; no longer do I splat easily from out of range weapons and it's particularly nice to get close to a sniper with the brella up, waiting for them to give one last feeble shot at me before being splatted.

I've checked the video metadata with exiftool and it seems fine to upload them straight from the Switch.

I've not tried the other model brella, but I expect to soon; I imagine it trades speed for strength, which is nice.

I'm A in splat-zones and A+ in the other two and have never had the chance to play league before.

Use a MicroSD card and save it directly from the data management in the settings; it accepts FAT, so I didn't even need to have the system format it. It will create a Nintendo folder in the root.

Brella - you've certainly got some good blocks in there. I liked the strafe matching, and the double team answer.
I have a couple brella specific questions.
If you stand in front of a friend (while facing away from that friend) and block an enemies attack with the brella, can your friend's fire go through your brella (assuming you aren't blocking their fire with your body)?
What are the best circumstances to launch the brella? Is it ever practical as a detached moving shield? Should one avoid launching the brella regardless of situation?

I don't know, but I'm inclined to believe that's not the case. From the way it looks, ink saturates the brella and I wouldn't expect this to change from that, but it may help add life to it before it breaks.

I believe they may have added that mechanic to prevent an easier shield. I've only ever launched it once or twice for fun or at the very beginning of a match when I didn't need it, to help spread some ink. The larger brella seems much more useful for this, as it's apparently a one-hit splat and much harder to break, so I expect to do this more with that one. Just last match I was pushed back by this brella being launched at me; I had to destroy it before it reached me and I could progress, but it certainly cost me time, although I could've tried going around it, but I didn't.

I should have just done this from the get go, but I believe I have answered the question on this, which if so, I think this adds a clear benefit for the brella and ability to protect teammates.

Is this game more worth getting into than the last? Do I need to have had a personal connection with Callie and Marie to understand the one's disappearance?

Well, Splatoon 1 is effectively dead. No splatfests, no updates, nothing. Splatoon 2 has a new game mode, Salmon Run, which Splatoon 1 doesn't have, and the squids here really like it. There's also another game mode coming in like two weeks.

No. All you need to know is that Callie and Marie hosted everything in the first game. They were very popular pop icons canonically, and it should technically be a big deal that Callie is missing, but nobody in Inkopolis really seems to mention it other than Marie. The story for Splatoon isn't particularly deep unless you read the scrolls, and you won't suffer because you didn't play the first game.

yep. its real useful when in a firefight. but i think it blocks your pal's vision which sucks. but if the enemy is close enough for that to be the case, you can donk them with the shield for adequate damage.

the only thing that doesnt go trough an umbrella is bubbles. at least your own bubbles. havent tested it out with others bubbles.

which of course leads to an interesting combo the big brella has.
1) release brella
2) run behind it while activating and firing the bubble special
3)then shoot at it once or twice.

works better with object shredder (pops faster) and special power up (bigger bubbles) and a few special charge up subs (or special saver if you die a lot) for spicyness.

can basically instantly cap the point on many maps in splatzone and generally clears out an area real easy with little threat to you unless they are right up on ya already.

The "% Pay Grade" is a general measure of enemy intensity / difficulty level, and your current employee title affects how many Golden Eggs you're expected to get per round / who you get paired with in online matchmaking.
When you play public Salmon Run at the top rank (Profreshional), people have an average pay grade of 175% - 225%, and I think the game allows it to go as high as 1000%.
As a newbie, you've just got to power through the lower tiers, until you reach the good shit at the top.

You'll max out at 999 I believe but your pay grade % won't get that high. Your pay grade % gets passed by the other number somewhere in the 200s and doesn't catch back up

I believe the tag stays yellow regardless of ink color. I distinctly remember Splatoon 1 having shoes where the socks change color, but that definitely doesn't seem to be the case in Splatoon 2, as I'm a huge fan of the strapping whites and strapping reds, and they definitely don't change color.

That's why the flank route you highlighted has to be contested, if you let them have the flank route they can control that higher area with immunity. As you take on the flank route, there is cover you can use to take refuge from the other team, and this cover has a ramp for you. If you can distract them this way then a teammate can even climb up two different walls on the other side and attack that way. Or you can detour up to the grated platform and flank from above, if that would help more, though you must watch for them shooting you off the wall. Moray Towers is cool, lots of different heights and vantages, lots of cover, walls to climb, flank routes, rails. There's always options. You just need to recognize your options.

the orange/brown route you mean? cause I can see that point but the problem arises that the ramp is still a long sightline where range completely dominates. it's one long downhill sightline even with the cover at the bottom.

Not to mention that the sniper still has coverage on you on your way there, just like he does on the wire and on the quarterpipe->wall route.

It fosters a situation where, if there's a sniper perched on the map, it is every player's sole duty on the opposing team to take care of that sniper. The sniper wields far too much power due to having unchecked sightlines and very few means to be flanked and eliminated.

Sometimes the best thing to do when you think a weapon has too much of an advantage on a map is to use that weapon on that map and see how others deal with you

this is probably true, though I'm a slosherfag who compensates for poor aim with wide hitboxes and burst damage

kinda a gameplay habit I developed over years of playing TF2, I cant aim precise weapons for the life of me (at least on console, on M&KB I can use pretty much anything consistently but snipers)

the wire now has two bends, making it harder for chargers to keep a reticle on a squid who's riding it. there's no longer a gap between the quarterpipe and the wall route, and the conditioning unit has a grate attached to the side so it's easier to climb onto. the ramp next to the wire attaches to the quarterpipe, meaning yo ucan go straight from the ramp to the wall flank while keeping relatively out of the sniper's sightline.

I'm of the understanding that speed increases are more useless in this game, correct me if I'm wrong. You may do better to focus on ink resistance instead of run speed but get another opinion on that
