There's a lot of seemingly pointless weapons in the 3rd ed. p&p D&D. the real difference in these examples is that the light versions are more concealable which is irrelevant in a game that doesn't deal with concealing weapons.

nwn was pure shit, the underdark expansion was the only good campaign biowar made for it.

If they could actually improve NWN what would they do now anyway? Update the graphics maybe, but to be honest, NWN doesn't need an 'Enhanced Edition' it needs a modern successor that does the original justice. NWN 2 wasn't bad but the UI was dogshit by comparison and it's still badly optimized to this day.

I'll never understand how "HD" rereleases became a thing on PC. It's not like console where they lock you out of each previous generation. You even have mods already made and downloadable right now to spruce up the textures and things probably more than beamdog will bother.

Low level D&D 2E is very unfair. It gets more manageable once you get to level 4 because you finally have some hit points.
