I have almost all of my games cracked. I remember back in the day when most games required you to have your CD in your CD tray for the game to start. Since I was too forgetful to remember where I put them I just cracked all of my installed games.

It probably is very difficult for them to do tbh. In all my years, I Have met a handful of PC gamers who were legitimately unable to enjoy playing on older 2005 hardware (like the Xbox 360, or even PC builds from that year), let alone the classic Nintendo 64 from 1996. Although the N64 has gone on to become one of the most popular retrogaming consoles today (even after over 20 years since its launch), it's often difficult to get modern PC gamers to play on old PC/console hardware from 1996.

Even so, the original N64 is still fun play on imo. Whenever guests come over, we still have a blast with multiplayer games even after all these years.

You're missing all the shit that went inside Sega, where they essentially killed their Western sections and markets that made them successful outside Japan in the first place, which meant that during the few years before Saturn, Mega Drive and Genesis saw Japanese side taking over and deciding what should be done and pushed certain kind of games that the Sega of Japan preferred. This mismanagement is why you still don't have new entries, proper remakes, just ports of games that were popular in the West, and even then the likes of Eternal Champions are all but completely forgotten.

Different in a whole lot of ways FFVII probably would have been an N64 game with no FMVs but eventually the vidya industry would have started making too much money for its own good and been consumed by happy merchants like it is now. It would've been a slower process, though.

Players in Destiny 2 just recently discovered that the game gimps your exp gains at max level while displaying fake exp numbers. After max level, your "level ups" gave you a lootbox instead, the system was so aggressive that by the end of a mission your exp could literally only actually be 5% of what the game is telling you you're getting, all so you'd be more likely to buy lootboxes.

After it was found out, it took Actiblizz like 4 hours to go full damage control and say the exp system wasn't working as intended.
