I played the first one on the vive and it was complete garbage. You can't suck them and shoot them at the same time but sucking them stuns pretty much everyone on screen so you just pull trigger and wait. I hope they fixed that in the new version.

Anyways, a major issue with the PC verison of Double Peace is some finicky glitch early on that comes up for some but not for others, to say nothing of the game crashing when getting a game over (as in, is inaccessible) unless you alt+tab or something. A shame, I don't otherwise hate the game but I still wouldn't drop $40+ on it.

Sadly, the developers or whoever have been silent on the "1-2" crash. Personally, that never happened to me but there's a similar crash much later in the game which did happen to me. Considering it took me over 2 hours to get to that point, it was a good thing I didn't pay for it. Fortunately, the DLC came with the torrent too. Yes, including the $100 one which is basically just a souped-up version of the x-ray specs purchasable in-game (before anyone asks, no nipples). Granted, the girls are always in their underwear during Doki-Doki Mode.

The thing that pisses me off the most about these is that they actually could be a decent game. The concept is certainly to my liking, and it's not like you can't do rail shooters or VNs in a good way. They've utterly failed to do so though.

The vacuum gun is the main gimmick of Gal Gun VR, available on Steam and which can be played entirely without any headset. It causes a stun effect and sucks in little devils, it's not much but still helps making the game a bit more varied. As the problem with GalGun is that there's absolutely zero progression, and basic shot is more than enough for everything.

I gave Gal Gun double peace a shot and came to the realization that the port is dog shit. No wonder autistic faggots screeched about how shit it looks, because the models are still the same ones they used on the Vita version. I have never seen such a shit cel shading outside of Gun Grave and Jet Set Radio. Speaking of Vita: It clearly shows that it is from that system. The levels are very short. Its probably also the reason why the music repeats. Gameplay is not that much to write home about and I am not going to check out if it does get indeed better. Where the game shines is the lewdness though. If you are into disgusting moe sex, get it on Vita, I say.

Oh man. That version. The framerates are awful even with the overclocking plugin. It also has ridiculous load times. The only good things are that it's portable, and for having touch controls. Also as bad as the visuals are I prefer them to the cluttered mess that is VR.

There's a lot of small details that they did that were kind of cool.
Unfortunately they neglected the more important parts like the shooting sections, the lewd rubbing games, the bosses, level design, music, etc. Also the fantasize mode is way too limited, I want more ways to interact with them, and degeneracy you know the sort.

The level of characterization the developers were able to add to the girls was borderline fanatic for how large the supporting cast was.

Of the 76 girls in the game, only 6 were non-standard/story related. The other 70 were found throughout the various levels as common enemies. A student handbook can be found for each of the 70 girls providing various details on them such as what year/faculty they're in and what their personality is like (Ranging from student council members, class presidents, arts club members, video game club members, music club members, photography club members, curry enthusiasts, wrestling enthusiasts, the resident chuuni, the foreign exchange students, the girl that got held back a year, the resident ghost of the school, etc.) All 70 of them had a unique game over quote relating to their personality if you died to them. All 70 of them also had an additional different game over quote if you died to their demon possessed variant. Additionally, all 70 of these common encounter girls each had a short one or two line ending in the destiny route. Each of the 70 girls have 2 unique lines for their yell attack (ranging from proclamations of love, asking if you want to eat candy together, meowing at you like a cat, yelling "HANDGRENADE!", addressing you from a teacher-student perspective, etc.) and also had additional voice lines for their demon possessed self (usually either sadistic, bullying, or opposite of what their normal personality is).

Many of the girls are returning girls from the original Gal Gun game which took place a year ago when each girl was in the previous year (except for the one that got held back a year).

Perhaps now that they have all the characters flushed out, they'll have a bit more time to develop the gameplay and difficulty.

I suppose they're fine for how many there are but still, their descriptions are like 2-3 sentences and for quite a few it defines their in-game personality. The MCs are a bit better.

I want what that other user said a while ago. Sporty girls being fast and nimble targets, creepy girls hexing you and taking you by surprise, shy girls staying away and flusteredly confessing at a distance, etc. There's plenty of room for creative shooter gameplay if they can work in lewd x-ray vision and cuddles.

It's a damn shame too. It reminds me of Sword Art Online Hollow Realization. Ultimate hand holding simulator coupled with some great combat. Yet held back by a forgettable story, boring enemies to fight, and a copy paste world with copy paste quests. With some more time and budget, I think they could make something great. Same with Galgun, but I don't think they want to make an actual rail shooter that's difficult combined with unique level design. A school setting could definitely lead to some good level design if the guys got creative. And with many rail shooters, you can create many different situations by just having unique enemies and place them in certain groups.
