DMC HD

About to play through the DMC games 1-4. I've played 3 and 4 quite a bit but only made it through half of 1 as a kid and never touched 2. Just figured I'd ask some questions before I started.

-is there anything like cancelling combos or neat ways to break the game in the name of cuhrayzee?
-same as the question for DMC 1
-is this game even worth playing? I've heard it was complete garbage but that was before DmC came out and maybe put it into perspective

DMC2 is easy as shit, but I'd say it's worth a playthrough on whatever the hardest default difficulty is. Even DMD mode is pathetic. I wouldn't go out of my way to obtain a copy, but if you have the HD collection, there is no reason not to give it a whirl.

Slash-canceling can be done with a quick analog rotation, it lets you reset your initial slash twice as quickly as normal.
Jump-canceling is possible with the shotgun.
If you're a pussy you'll make your way through the game by grenade-rolling, which is the granddaddy of the Kilgore Glitch.

You're not going to need most of this until Dante Must Die! anyway, and even then you should try to go without it.
If only so you can tell other people that it isn't, sure.

It's like they never played the games.

DMC1 has the best atmosphere and style out of the franchise, it's a beautiful game that still looks great and even watching the cutscenes you can tell that a lot of love went into it.
The controls are unlike DMC3, it's a slower game that clearly inherits some stuff from its RE roots, its fun and challenging but it also ain't no DMC3. My personal favorite of the series. Also Dante is a pretty cool alpha dude and his character makes numales feel uncomfortable.

Sounds like 2 is worth playing one way or another.

And I appreciate the tips on 1. Might stay away from gernade rolling for at least one play through if it's that op, but that slash/jump cancelling sounds neat.

For sure. It's where the best parts of RE 3.5 went, the rest went to haunting ground which I hear isn't to shabby either.

Isn't pizza bad for dogs?

...

And what is wrong with mushroom on a pizza, you god damn degenerate?

At least it isn't pineapple.
