Overgrowth

So has anyone plundered and played it yet?

Yeah, it's ok. Really fucking short, and the jump kick still kills everything.

Yiffe!

Yeah, look here's some gameplay I recorded. likecommentsubscribe

...

did it actually finish?
i really liked the engine team's blogs that died last year.

Yes, as the prophecy fortold.
Also it's shit.

It's painfully mediocre. Way too short and the combat is ruined because the jumping kick is the most fun attack to use while also being insanely OP.

I bought it 5 years ago
And never played it

Maybe I should

Top quality prophets, right there.

We waited so long for this game we shifted to an entirely separate website and the release was so uneventful I didn't even know it happened.

game does not finish, it ends with "that's the story so far" which is embarassing considering that there is no voice acting, no scene animations, and the most animation in the cutscenes is when the main character faints. the story should have been completed since they set the bar so low

personally i enjoyed the parkour segments of the game the most. the mechanics overall are enjoyable for an indie game. it has potential to get its money worth if the modding community carries it.
the engine itself is great, maybe they can license it. compared to assassin creed, or gta, it could do well if it had a good creative team

i thought the dev rage quit years ago, what the fuck happened?

well i wanted to but for god knows what reason they changed the renderer and now i can't run the game because my toaster doesn't support opengl
i tried overgrowth maybe two years ago and it worked fine

He kept at it with minor updates. Ended up releaseing it.

I did, doesn't feel like a proper game at all, it's still a buggy tech demo with 5 minute long levels that take a weirdly long time to load. This game is not just unfinished, it's not even started, it's an engine with a collection of presets and the engine is not even that impressive anymore after so many years.

Mods will fix it! And by that I mean the furry ghettos will get together to provide the ultimate virtual yiff experience that nobody else asked for.

As the ancient tapestry foretold, memes are never wrong

So it's MGSV with ugly rabbit characters? That's a total CQC ripoff.

So it's a stealth game? Looks kinda awful considering how long it took to make.

It has very basic stealth mechanics, it's not a stealth game. As I said, it's a tech demo with some very short preset levels to test out stealth, combat and platforming mechanics without even a semblance of proper game design.

how many years did it take again? 10? 11 years? Just pathetic.

He is a furfag.

A furfag SJW who went full retard protecting m'lady from mean tweets during gamergate.

I would have spent money on it if the Dev didn't go full autismo on Twitter.
You can look it up if you don't believe me, I don't have it on hand right now unfortunately.

Actually wow nevermind, I found it again pretty quickly.

kek, what a cuck

BEHOLD
SCANDOLOVS PORTRAIT OF SUCH BEASTS!

YIFFE!

Rabbits are fucking weird.

Playing overgrowth there's a request I'd like to make.
Are there any melee games where the character your playing is so mobile?
Let me explain, usually regardless of movement options combat has you standing still or not relying on speed or mobility, for example as relatively fast you can go in MGRR you're still standing still whenever you're actually attacking. I really enjoyed this idea of an attack that relies on your movement as well as serving as a movement option itself, and that's why I think the leg cannon is so fun to use in spite of being pretty OP.
The other example I can think of is Ys Origin's Toal Fact and that's about it.

so… is this basically furry porn?

Only thing that comes to mind is the attack on titan fangame, or the kekmo one if you're a casul.

tbh that procedural animation system the dev uses is pretty cool, but that's about the only good thing I saw from this game. you know besides the YIFFE!

It sucks. Feels like an alpha.

NOT ALL ALPHAS

I don't suppose anyone ever got around to making a windows port of Lightning's Shadow did they?

It also has been industry standard for a while now

Anyone else remember a quickie demo Rosen made using Lugaru's engine, where you played as a robot in 1st person, and damage caused limbs on you or your opponents to be paralyzed? The sensation of jumping and landing was exhilarating. If he combined that with Revolver-style gun handling, and a splash of his great tactile FPS feel from Black Shades, he could make the game Mirror's Edge should've been.

Yes, there's an entire (mostly deceased) genre of PC hack & slash games with Overgrowth's FPS-esque control scheme.
