Wild West & World war 1
Underused settings in vyda
The Franco-Prussian War.
I want to say Egypt and Egyptian mythology, but this year kinda is fucking that up a bit with Ever Oasis, AssCreed, and Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy being ported. Still, I want a good one. But I'm with you OP, The amount of good Western and WWI games is disgusting. I want a game where I can hunt, drink whiskey, live off the land, and visit the Indian rendezvous and sell my hides. I want to raise a family in a valley. Fuck OP, you got me playing my old shit, thanks.
I want a ninja game without anime bullshit
Why am I having a hard time attaching multiple images? I wish I wasn't retarded.
It's like devs don't want my money at all.
fantasy elements in a realistic setting.
Dystopia. Not the old ass Gibson stuff, that shit needs to be revamped for CY+2. Also, gameplay during ancient ayy timelines instead of just a backstory.
me too
There aren't nearly enough games like Urban Chaos or Manhunt portraying a decayed city.
I'll just do it the old fashioned way with one last image. I seriously need to go out to the shack inna woods and watch some old movies in between hunting.
WW2 Eastern Front that's not Stalingrad, Leningrad or Kursk. Especially with the non-german Waffen-SS units or allied armies.
French Indochina war.
Korean War.
OP I thought you combined the two for a second.
That sounds cool as fuck.
will we live to play the next great war, or will it be PC cucked to hell? they probably already have one and are just waiting to change team names in multiplayer huh
Spanish Civil War
Any period in history after the widespread military adoption of firearms, but before the widespread adoption of automatic rifles.
Not many Aztec themed games.
I want to play as an Aztec Warrior qt
Arabian Nights type settings.
Not shitty boring mudslime bullshit, I want the classic fantasy version of the middle east. Give me mysticism, magic lamps, cruel lords, bandit kings, shifting sand dunes, brown qt3.14s, ancient treasure, desert gods, ancient temples, fortune tellers, the works.
The lack of good urban post-apocalyptic games is depressing. Fallout is the most significant one, but all I ever wanted was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. combined with Gone with the Blastwave.
Are you sure OP? :/
Australia in general.
...
weird
17th century France, I wanna play as a musketeers (play as D'Artagnan and cuck the king)
yugoslav wars
Here's something similar where you can liberate the shit out of filthy sushi throwers
I want a Wild West game where you hunt cryptids, supernatural and mythological beings with blackpowder guns. Each kind of monster has either a specific way to hunt or are easier to hunt using a specific approach. Stalk them, bait them, smoke them out, unleash the dogs on them etc. Some need symbols, rituals, specific materials like silver bullets and those kinds of things to be killed, or can only be killed during a certain moon phase, hour of the day or whatever, while others just need some good old lead. It could be like a hardcore version of "The Hunter" or something more RPG-like with whatever other systems thrown in that would make sense for it.
It's a damn good album. I usually keep it near me in some way.
I want a trigun vidya, with levels where you explore derelict starships and shit.
Wouldn't it basically be like wild guns?
Navigating entrigue in the imperial court, out maneuvering enemies and forcing them to commit Seppuku. The closest we have is a DLC for one of the Paradox GRand strategy sims, Europa Universalis 3 I believe?
there's a sniper elite game set during the yugoslav wars
Manhunt is edgy and I love it for that
...
Cyber punk
Proper fantasy steampunk like arcanum
...
God, I love this fucking game.
Subterranea.
A game where you fight against Islam. Mohammad is the penultimate boss and Allah is the final showdown.
that's not a setting.
You mean an alternate history where the Sikhs aren't the Jews of India?
In Mecca
Fixed that for you
I never seen a game where you take the role of proud mujaheeden and send the kuffr back to jahannam
I want a western game and a pirate game. Closet I ever gotten was Sid Mier's Pirates! and Assassin Creed: Black Flag.
I never got to play GUN or Red Dead Revolver. I played Redemption and it scratched that itch but not enough. New Vegas was fun as a cowboy but I want more.
OP is a cool dude for posting Rifleman
Try the first "Port Royal"
I loved it as a kid
I want open world rpg in roman setting similar to tyranny or age of decadence, but with historical accuracy and ability to play as "barbarians", especially gauls and celts. Truly underrepresented timeline.
This one comes damn close
Post-natural disaster city. Only thing to really do it as more than a stage is the 絶体絶命都市 series, and those are mid-disaster.
Police are gone, gangs run wild, supplies are scarce. The only one you can depend on is yourself. Escape or return order to your home.
Tactics Ogre is basically the yugoslav wars with magic and shit.
Not enough games with Hindu mythology.
I concur.
Digital Devil Saga… and that's pretty much it.
To be honest, a lot of these settings would be amazing to see, but I think also require at least a good understanding of their history to be enjoyable, which I can see a lot of devs fuck up badly. Especially mythology based settings.
So you fags going to show for the Fistful of Frags gamenight?
If we have one, then yeah sure.
n-no!
Would want to see this as well.
Apply yourself.
The rifleman a legit good show.
imfdb.org
Swan Song is a VN in that type of setting. It was okay. Might tickle your fancy.
There Naruto magic in the later games
There was that commando type game that came out last year
C'mon son it's like you don't want to enjoy the game. Play it without using items and you'll get your vanilla ninja experience or close enough as long as you ignore certain bosses.
That was extremely enjoyable. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
If Battlefield one was historically accurate and not filled with hamfisted diversity, 'muh good guys' and other instances of historical revisionism, I would probably have bought it and been sorely displeased with the sheer amount of bugs and probable lack of trench warfare.
I didn't know I wanted this so much
I want to bang aztec warrior qts as a spaniard
it's this weekend
I guess you can blame normalfags for not being educated and thus not caring about the setting.
neat
How can authentic trench warfare in a FPS possibly be fun?
How would the game actually work?
Japan in the build up to WW2, so not WW2 itself but the moments of Japan beefing up could be for an interesting setting.
What not fun about ww1 FPS?
Sure it can be, look at (alpha) Ace of Spades for a proof of concept.
Verdun was fun for what is it. Nothing like fucking someone up with an Enfield Obrez.
The thing about BF1 is that there's a game mode called Back to Basics where only the bolt action weapons are allowed but the servers are dead because Dice has refused to promote the game mode.
I just want a game where I can be the moral law of the land and help those in need. I tried in New Vegas, but accidentally selected the wrong chat option once so I went on a killing spree throughout the entire game.
Early colonial America
plays as a Trapper/hunter protecting various settlements from witches, sasquatches, skin-walkers and many other native folklore monsters.
Boring and retarded, both of them
That's true. At least 62% of the casualties during the battle of the Somme were from soldiers dying of boredom.
...
...
Imaginative cities with scary architecture like Gotham City in Batman '89 or Yharnam in Bloodborne. I love cities like that, I wish I could live in one.
...
b-but that's my idea
This setting, whatever it is
WW1 is pretty god tier
I'd like to see a game about an immortal living post-humanity, but not yet at the heat death. Could be doing things like exploring the universe, meeting other lifeforms, discovering what happened to the last of humanity or if there are any humans left, and working to prevent said heat death.
Balkan wars.
Unlike other wars, the Balkans fight each other not for resources or Jewish interests. They fight each other because they fucking hate each other. Despite their small armies compared to other nations, the Balkans always manage to commit the most horrible warcrimes and biggest genocides.
Why is there not a good game about removing kebab is beyond me.
Seems to me like some kind of persistent front game would be best for it, bit like Planetside in mechanics or something akin to that.
Depends how autistically in depth you go with it I suppose.
Minecraft with guns?
I think the problem there was that it was called Back to basics, and it only seemingly addresses the issue of the bolt action and nothing else.
They can't die quick enough at this point.
I'd also like to add that it feels like there aren't enough games depicting war crimes/more terrible for the men fighting in it theatres of war such as World war 1 and Vietnam.
More handguns, axes, hunting shotguns, grenades and frankly tooth and nails.
Also no WW1 naval game where you can fend off boarders with mugs of hot cocoa
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH good one, you faggot
The Book of Apocalypse/Revelations.
Someone should just do it.
You're clearly not from around here faggot. I know my history and culture better than you ever will.
The Balkans always hated each other and always will. Even if the kikes gave the spark to the wars, it was still a war where every soldier wanted to fight in. Because everyone here is told from a young age that his neighbors are absolute subhumans and need to be wiped out.
While the West fights against their own brothers just because the Jew told them to, only to have their soldier regret their actions a decade later, here in the Balkans the people lust for war and lowkey feel proud of their warcrimes because to them their enemies deserved it all.
...
All of you got reamed by the happy merchant the last time around.
Trash games :^)
I just remember I Am Alive having that kind of setting. i also remember it being a bad game
...
Meh, it would probably just be one of those flash games where you're in charge of tossing unworthy souls into the Lake of Fire with Happy Wheels physics.
Correction: I'd like to live in a city like Burton's Gotham except without the ghetto trash, liberals, and gun control.
As says, Aztec stuff, or more generally Mesoamerica or even more generally the Precolumbian Americas as a whole.
Also, to that user, and just so other anons are aware: The first image in is an actually historically accurate series of images of the Aztec capital and surrounding districts, but as you can imagine the other image of the female warrior isn't accurate at all.
Pic related is an actually accurate series of examples of Aztec (or at least Tenochtitlan's/the captial's attire, the Aztec empire wasn't imperial but was rather hegemonic, so other cities, especially ones not in the Valley of Mexico, preserved their own cultural practices for the most part and would have different ones to some extent), along with a few other images of various shit from the Aztec captial and a map of the overall region, though it excludes the indivual Maya territories and instead of just has any area controlled by a Maya group listed as "Maya", which is really not great since the Maya never unified and always were a bunch of seperate city states and kingdoms.
I have a seperate map that shows each Maya state but I've used up all my files for this post and have other shit tot do
Play expeditions conquistador
Its like you don't god.
strawberry roan and they're hanging me tonight are also good. Its just too good to all be on one album.
Stone Age.
Fuck Far Cry Primal.
AMC has back to back episodes of this show every weekend. I love it.
To our present standards, every mediterranean and european country has been its own different planet for over 2000 years. We are completely set apart from each other, and all these stories are worthwhile.
It's the homogenization that came with the USA, that required a new narrative to claim history was shared.
Imagine something like SCP gone wrong, but with less of the supernatural stuff and more biological horror and inmates that hate your guts.
I need to pick that up again. Is it still ongoing?
at least stone age gets SOME stuff every once in a blue moon, anything after the dinosaurs, but before the ice age may as well not exist to media
I just want to play as a terror bird god dammit
I want to see more games in abandoned shopping centers. As in totally destitute, with signs torn off, graffiti, ransacked stores, food courts full of vermin, etc. The only game I can think of that has such a setting is Dead Center in Left 4 Dead 2.
I want a Total War game but with intelligent dinosaurs instead of humans. That would be so fucking rad. Or a nice, peaceful point-and-click adventure and diplomacy game set in Dinotopia, which would be equally as rad. Or a new Primal Rage game. Or a kart racing game with dinosaurs. Or Roller Coaster Tycoon: Jurassic Park.
Fuck it, I'll settle for pretty much any game with dinosaurs in it at this point.
The Russian Civil War.
The 70s
Rhodesia too but I think that might be a sore subject.
Doesn't it seem a bit weird that in the recent trend of survival and crafting games we haven't gotten a stone age game yet, when the setting would be perfect for it?
>by crafting actually shaping the material such as wood branches to form spear points or stones for flint knifes/axes
I don't know why you've never heard of Nethergate, but go play it.
That's not really true, Yugoslavia disintegrated because Germany, Britain, and the United States all played sides and made sure it happened. The idea of a successful socialist experiment was unacceptable to the neoliberal world and they made sure it was crushed.
Ancient Mesopotamia doesn't get nearly enough attention. Mythical beasts, ziggurats, magicians, city-states and huge empires. There's a lot to work with.
Everybody needs to play 1916 - Der Unbekannte Krieg. It's a WW1 themed remake of 3D Monster Maze. Which you would remember as one of the best games ever, if you had had a ZX81 in the 80's.
I hope this link is legit, because the original pages is down. indiedb.com
steampunk
and lets not forget the music they had
No, it crashed because expecting Croats and Bosniaks and Serbs to all live together in one nation was fucking retarded from day 1 and only strongman Tito really kept it together.
Go back to Holla Forums.
Goddamn Secret World was such a clusterfuck but I loved it
Sadly, most of the things you described exist in a Minecraft mod called Terrafirmacraft (the only thing that makes minecraft worth playing) and it takes it through from the stone age to copper, bronze, and iron age with autismal levels of metallurgy the further up you go (which is why I don't really pass the bronze age when I play it).
a game set during or right after the meiji restoration would be fun
How about this?
Honestly I wish Kaiju stuff would come back in force for both Japan and the US. It's a really dry market in current years and practically anyone can jump into it with an idea that would be original.
Why doesn't this exist?
Kenshi
I feel like Africa would be a gold mine for fun (or DEEP) games but no one wants to touch it since it seems like A-ticket to getting SJWs on your ass.
is that nigger wielding an AK-47 in his wedding dress?
They have some weird ass beliefs there. I think he's wearing a wedding dress because they think that dressing as a woman will confuse the bullets from hitting them.
The list goes on and on about dumb shit they believe in terms of guns and firefights.
Well Godzilla got a reboot in each country, American Godzilla is going to have King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan (all in one movie, possibly with Mecha Godzilla in there) and Godzilla vs King Kong to usher in its MonsterVerse cinematic universe, the Japanese Godzilla has a trilogy of anime Godzilla films coming out and a Gamera reboot still in the works following the vastly cooler Shin Godzilla movie that blows the American one out of the water. To add to that fucking Rampage of all things is getting a movie adaption, and there was that bland Power Rangers film that came out. Plus the constant rumours of an Ultraman cinematic universe to boot.
I'm sure we'll see a few such games come out in the next 10 years.
Which is ironic, because a game set in Africa would demonstrate how bad Africans have it.
It would demonstrate how bad they have it and also justify the crazy outfits in combat thing FPSs love to do. It also might scratch the 'guerrilla warfare' itch for some people.
Fuck just give me a game during the Congo Crisis and we'll be good. They had tons of fighting, mercs who practically didn't give a fuck and only kept fighting because they wanted to, potential for it to be a straight action game or some deepest story shit.
You had one job.
You're right, developers would be free to do shit that would otherwise trigger /k/ autists since it would make sense that all of the combatants would have no idea what they're doing.
Some Warlords would give their Child Soldiers toy AKs, hunks of wood carved out to resemble an AK and tell them something about invisible bullets that could be fired from it.
Said child usually would die in a firefight from believing that shit.
...
You might appreciate , Aztecs had pretty Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and Minoan (so bronze age in general) esque architecture
He said "underused," not never.
Fuck you for reminding me of Lost Planet.
AND FUCK YOU CUCKCOM FOR STILL NOT FIXING IT
Is that a M72 Law on his back?
I want capcom to hurry up and die
Just finished watching the first season of Trude Detective. Hadn't seen it since it first aired. Would love more (or any, really) games that capture the perfectly atmosphere of that show.
Imagine a cross between LA Noire and Resident Evil 7.
Investigating crimes with occult and drug psychosis undertones, with an over-arching government/religious conspiracy threading its way through each case. Yes please.
You can have settings that are never used that aren't underused.
It's actually an RPG-18
First Gulf War and War in Donbass.
I want more games like Ace Attorney if you can call an interactive 16-bit movie a game that takes boring ass mundane shit like court, and make it epic or exciting in some way. The cornered themes in AA make me so fucking hard.
Ninja lore is like 99% myths about people being able to run on water and transform into rats and hypnotize people with hand gestures, so it makes sense that it really lends itself to anime bullshit, but I get what you mean.
I'll do ya one better than Wild West and say The Frontier
I feel like RDR2 will be more like that, judging by the trailers, but since it has to do with Dutch's game still, I'm guessin it'll be late 1800s tho.
Also Industrial Revolution UK
Syndicate wasnt as good as Unity, but it was still more fun than the usual AAA trash
I'm getting a vision of gigantic calvaries, Hot air balloons, dynamite being hurled around canyons and other similar things.
there are two options:
BF1 style REIMAGINED action explosion WWI
Verdun style "IT'S REALISTIC" boring and poorly executed indie games with shit animations and controls and gameplay in general
Kenshi doesn't even have guns
So the African and Middle Eastern front of WW1?
All I want is Day of Infamy with WWI… is that too much to ask…
Don't even start, there are already 2 or 3 new games coming out next year that are WWI and possibly another Western and at this rate just putting it out there will get those two settings run into the ground. What would be cool is if you had some shit set during the Arab Revolt or the Mexican American war.
Fug
Just filter him.
I wouldn't mind seeing more abandoned ice bases like penumbra and more megastructure stuff like Blame!
Why live?
Literally Necrovision.
And some Call of Cthulhu mobile game.
I was hoping for more of a strategy titel.
...
Asura's Wrath
Way of the Samurai 1+4
Raidou Kuzunoha 1+2
I'd love to see a Manchurian campaign video game that showed the Chinese as infighting barbarians.
It certainly wouldn't lack for factions.
Any word on Prince of Persia?
Ever play that one hack'n'slash set in about the present?
its called sengoku its stand alone game. i am not sure how far it goes but you can make your enemies commmit sudoku
Ever oasis isn't egypt though its just set in a fantasy desert. Great game though still.
OT: I really want some games set in Yugoslavia, don't think I have ever seen it and considering how much Slavs love killing each other it seems like the perfect fit for a game.
That guy on the left in the red cloak, i want a game about him.
