Why did the Kojima/the writers/whoever hate the Emmerichs so much? Everything seems to end very badly for them, the only time Otacon got a break was when it was decided that MGS4 should end happily instead of depressingly like it was originally intended to.

It's very competent but it really doesn't have whatever it is that makes Hotel Dusk and Last Window so good. I get the feeling that's true of pretty much all of Cing's other games and probably that new downloadable game too.

Which admittedly isn't much - Ashley is teenage, her father is still a dork who tries to make it a nice vacation, this kid shows up and ropes us into an intensely easy quest through some bard. Yeah, it is obviously aimed at kids. Still I liked the idea of playing as a kid during the summer holidays going on adventures. That carefree atmosphere was really nostalgic. I remember playing it during hot summer nights when I couldn't sleep and drinking my flatmates expensive whiskey(he never touched it and never complained about its absence once I'd finished it, so it was probably okay).

And while I'm here, I'll clarify why Noah is underrated.
Juno's ending lines here seem to ring to Noah, as he does have someone he cares for, but he wants to be distant.
The ending seems to fall in line with him avoiding relationships, but it also has him start to realize he could die at a moments notice. He knew before, but he only now actually grasps it.
This one is really great for both parties, but for Noah it's him kind of accepting that this is just life for him and the people of Ilia. Kind of. He seems to still be uncertain.
This one makes Noah truly realize where his life is heading without some sort of meaningful relationship. It's also cool because it kind of explains why Noah has a higher sword ranking than any other cav.

This isn't actually that good of a support really, but it's a nice conclusion for Noah's characters.
I would write about Treck as well, since he's also incredibly underrated his character is pretty much just gondola, but I'm worn out for now.

I don't know if Garcian is underrated around Holla Forums, but I never see discussion about the ending(s) of Killer7, only the same few screenshots and cutscenes. He's one of those characters you can relate to, and then the rug gets pulled out from under you.

in general, the generic classes dont get enough love from the fans. it was so cool when you started getting options to pick from different personalities for them.

with iris the fairy, shes your encyclopedia fairy, and sometimes fighting companion! but you can end up having funny conversations with her that poke fun at the game.
one topic that springs to mind is how a spear can attack from a distance that would take 15 minutes to walk.

i think time seems faster because less is happening, theres just less worth remembering. the years have been uneventful and disappointing. we are being led astray from our true purpose. you might not realize or believe this, but exploring fiction and stretching the imagination is one of the reasons we exist.

Otacon is still seen as the successor to the bosses will, and the true heir to the boss, alongside David. He had a hard life, but he made an impressive one out of it. As for Emmerich, personally I think he was set up by Miller/Ocelot because Miller hated him and wanted someone to blame for the fucked up shit he was doing behind the scenes and Ocelot is a sadist, who also needed a fall guy for the suspicious shit going on, as he was most likely working for cipher. Worse yet, everything is from Big Boss's point of view, and he's not only been heavily medicated with the mechanical cigars, but he has a litany of psychological and phsyical issues making it near impossible to get a clear picture of what's actually going the fuck on.

Solid is easily the character who hurts the most, that makes him the viewpoint character of the series IMO. If Kojima wasn't such a fucking hack you would've played as BB in V and you would've been building Outer Heaven instead Mother Base. You would've gotten odd reports that didn't quite make sense like Otacon mentioning missing optical camouflage prototypes in MSG1. Xenogears. The story is it's draw but the combat is pretty unique for a jrpg in that you create a combo instead of pressing attack and some combos end with special attacks you unlock by grinding out specific button combinations. Also, there is mechs. They control similar to ground combat but you need to worry about fuel consumption. Some monsters actually take that into account so you end up with enemies that can drain or cut your fuel.
