I’ll start with mine

That's not a well-formed game idea. The failure of this idea is, of course, in the details of the implementation.
really? how? exactly? Because when I read this all I hear is a wiki with about 9 entries in it to have open on the second screen.

OK, now then. Here is my bad idea for a video game: It's a sneaking game. It's a 3D game, first person view. You play as a heat resistant jumping cockroach. Your goal is to shit in as many people's tomato soups as possible. The can skitter left/right (strafe), do a fast-dash under napkins and the like, climb spoons and other 3D objects. You submerge in the soup and shit. Then on to the next bowl of soup. Bonus points for shitting on the spoon. Of course you can swim through the soup. Peaking out to check for danger is a key mechanic. Clutching the underside of the spoon for a free ride is a valid tactic. When the action gets hot though you have to dodge hammerfists and run for deep cover.

It's actually an Holla Forums terminal client

start by watching the fucking movie, you dumbshit spaz.

...

I had that idea shortly. I could never quite bring myself to go through with it for whatever reason.

A multiplayer shooter styled like a bargain bin hunting game but the creatures you have to hunt progressively get more and more wild. You start by killing deer, then bears, then you swear you see a fucking chupacabra in the corner of your eye. After baiting and shooting some more bucks, you see a fucking monster suck blood out of one of your fresh kills on your way down the tree stand. You kill that and bag it too. eventually you get enough cash to buy rare bait to hunt sasquatches. It goes good until fucking aliens beam down and you get to headshot their grey faggot faces and bait them with retard brains. Watch out for skinwalkers and wraiths, because the aliens came here to activate a high-tech ancient portal to hell. Now you're hunting demons and craft Mythic Tier overalls out of devil pelts because this game also has an RPG gear system. As all this crazy shit happens, the multiplayer mode lets you shoot other hunters too if you're careful not to get caught, so every server inevitably disintegrates into a sniper bloodbath somewhere in the west coast country. you can even mount your friend's head on your cabin wall in the multiplayer social hub cabin system where you invite people in your friend's list to your tricked out crib and show off all your trophies while downing cheap shitty beer because that's a keybind.

some thing like that already happened

Here is mine.

A simple pet raising/battling game that generates a hash based on data from your mobile phone. Something similar to like Megaman BN or Accel World. Google Glasses compatible but not required.

Where my AR monster battling games at?

guys
i have a crazy idea
okay
how about a game
that's fun

So get this, make a generic rpg BUT get animu girls with this exact same face under different color palettes!
There's also jiggle physics.

Shit OP, I saw a game like you are describing, indie shit, probably will never get out of early access and it's terrible wanky….was on a jewtuber streamnortherlion
Here's the game half dead

> If you manage to beat the Russia level, the game ends with a cinematic of Russia and the Uncucked States of America becoming allies to cooperatively glass all of the Middle East, Turkroachistan, and all other Sandnigger infestations with the biggest fuckin nukes they have. The End

The Elder Scrolls, but good.

I would Kickstart this.

the inverse of fargoy V where you play AS the christian cult and you go full Branch Davidian BundyBros on the government and the niggers. It plays like mount and blade where you have the over world and the battles, but it's played like a shooter.

...

A game that's like Zelda, except it controls like God Hand when you lock on to enemy.

Sorry user, that wouldn't be very profitable in this market.

Holy shit OP, that's not pitching a game idea. You just literally made a "this movie a game, huh?". What the hell is wrong with you? Did you just template thread or what? Goddamn.

Here is my pitch: The game starts by asking a bunch of questions, like making a character, but in the background it actually encrypts your whole user folder and all hard drives. Then the game gives you a random file or folder and you play a random flash-tier minigame to get it back or lose it forever.
"Dark Souls of meta games". Fuck you.

...

There's a few maps in Sven Co-op that are based on this idea, although they aren't as well designed.

A 2hu fighting game that isn't in the air

Detective game that starts out seemingly normal but weird and unexplained stuff starts happening. Game opens with what seems to be a typical murder case but evidence and witness testimony you collect starts to get weird. Suddenly you're reassigned to a different case and the case you were on gets shelved, or handed to somebody you don't' trust. You have to go under the radar and continue the investigation yourself. Over time it gradually turns into X-Files/DeusEx-style conspiracy game where you uncover all sorts of secret shit, try to infiltrate government facilities, get contacted by shadowy figures who feed you bits of information, etc. Gameplay has some combat but focuses mostly on stealth, deduction and problem-solving.

I'd play this

That'd be rad.

You literally just described deus ex.

Really can't stress that last part enough

Yes I guess I did. In my head it was more like Paranormal LA Noire but then I kept adding shit and didn't stop to realize it was just Deus Ex again.
WH40k?

...

somebody already made this like 100 times in minecraft
here's my idea based off your idea

A few

Cube 2 and 3 sucked ass
If it were based on cube 1 the retarded math genius is a must.

horror game that has nothing that can harm you at first, but little things change over time in a relatively large environment you are at (let's say a neighborhood with several accessible houses), sometimes lights go on and off, mannequins appear in windows and change positions, creepy sounds from unaccessible areas and the player is expected to complete some hard puzzle. THe longer you take to complete the puzzle, the game starts changing in more drastic ways until eventually you start taking damage by ie. a random plate hitting you from the back. This goes on until some monsters manifest and begin loosely following you like slenderman.

...

...

and a significantly shittier one too at that

A Ubisoft game

You wasted pools of semen, what we need is fun gameplay. Updating graphics with stale gameplay and fad difficulties are killing gaming.

Kill yourself OP. My idea is so awesome that it makes Kojima look like a fucking amateur. And I will turn it into the best video game of the century. No one is stealing it from me.

SPILL THE BEANS ASSHOLE
YOU CANNOT HIDE YOUR IDEA FROM KHAMEN RA FOREVER

I've only seen Cube 2, is it really that bad in comparison to the first?

The only thing you need to know is that it's based on the Old Testament

I remember how the Game Design class in my high school made a board game that was pretty fun based off of that.
Sage for off topic.

It's another jews game

TELL ME MOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE

You're too young to browse here.

I've said enough.

Well closest thing I know to cube is this. It captured being locked up in some fucked up testing.
Now I think about it Portal could have been excellent cube game if not for the fact they went with "lol so random".

Yes it is basically Saw movies. First one had idea for itself and managed to do it well. Rest are shitty horror movies.

an actual open-level detective game without any handholding

...

...

That mod is pretty good

Shoo shoo!

You play a monster hunter sent from the church
except instead of using swords, or blessed spells, or whatever the fuck
You wrap your hands in two crucifixes and punch/kick/wrestle the shit out of monsters and demons
The game ends on piledriving Satan after a brutal hand to hand fight

So like reverse bayonetta an instead of guns on your hands and feet it's crosss?

There's a source mod with a cube inspired map OP, it has almost everything you describe. I think it was either on synergy or obsidian conflict.

I just want a DMC-like where you punch and wrestle people around.

Came here to post this. I could never get it working though.

Honestly I thought you were going for a superhero origin story until that last bit. I kind of wish there was a game that had you doing real gritty detective work until the last fifth of the game where it flips the script and turns into a superhero beat em up when you've finally had enough bullshit.

This thread is on Holla Forums, user
stop making me want to watch this leaf film again

So a more literal god hand?

isn't this basically castlevania lords of shadow, you don't punch people but you have a cross shaped whip

...

yiff in hell furfag

...

hmmmmmmm
I mean, is it not weebshitty enough for ya? Ok how about this then?

i was going more for the remake angle
does being undead count as a superpower?

I want an Xcom mod where the Thin Men are replaced with anime girls

Isnt that the "nods respectfully" faggot?

That's all I got for now. Haven't decided if I'm going to use a traditional leveling system or use artifacts for temporary stat boosts and perks you sell at the end of adventure a la Crystal Chronicles.

Here's a game that I've been mulling about in my head for a few years now.

Albemics, mortars and pestles, stoves, texts

Mine would be a twist on the stale FPS genre.

Could be the idea that would net you more money and recognition than you can handle

That's great!

Will it have melee combat that's as good as Hotline Miami's? That game's essentially Grand Theft Auto 2 with no driving or open world.

Cool shit, user. There aren't enough games where the player becomes stronger through experimentation instead of just buying skills. TES games with their spellmaking/enchanting systems probably come closest.

Crazy enough to work?

Rainblood chronicles:mirage

How do you feel about this?

>Old and weak any security guard can easily manhandle you out of the building, but intelligent
>The twist is that you are a red team pen tester the entire time.

A JRPG where you actually roleplay like classic CRPGs.

It looks like a normal hack n slash to me.

skip to 2:46

...

I had a similar idea

You're kinda talking about Darkest of Days

I just want a good modern gladiator game.

Kill yourself goon

basically metal slug in korea

Is that what you tell yourself every night to keep yourself happy?

Don't bother, you will end up banned. Mark is a turboweeb himself and can't handle any criticism.

...

Fuck off then.

Lemme explain:
< you also have a sweet loving waifu that you can interact with at home. forming a loving relationship along the way
< her responses and animations are all rng-based, so her reactions are never exactly alike in subsequent playthroughs
< without that money, you can't buy stuff for your waifu or take her on fancy vacations. places like beach resorts or casinos or other exotic locales
< missing out on any activities you and your waifu can be doing at those unlockable locations
< but even if you don't unlock anything, she'll still love you no matter what. she's just that sweet and loving and caring
< you love her very much too
< you want to make her as happy as possible. to give her all the luxuries this world has to offer

Many guys can relate to this. a lot of us perform very difficult jobs, just so we can financially provide for the one we love most. using the money to take em to fancy restaurants and other things like that. My game idea is just an overt expression of that

No heh, i'm here to make your life living hell kid…

I love this idea. My waifu is the only reason I can get through my high-paying but incredibly shitty job.

What's the name of the lucky gal?

A problem is the battle mechanics, with pokemon go you could just walk around town and pick up monsters in less than a minute. A turn based battle would only be able to happen when you’re idle.

sounds basically like monster hunter, but emphasis on crafting? It might work if you could get a team to kill monsters for you.

Interesting, but, puzzles aren’t always suspenseful. Doing a crossword while getting beaned in the head isn’t exactly fun. So you would have to emphasize puzzles that deal with mobility and awareness.

So Four Swords but with actual wireless coop now. Online matchmaking would probably be frustrating, so the game would probably just be a dungeon rush. Good idea though.

A metroidvania fps would be interesting, but complicating a game for the sake of complicity just seems needlessly antagonistic. It’s better to invite players with things they are comfortable with, then surprise them with difficult gameplay.

You should include an alternate mode where a North Korean assasin has to fight through America to kill the devil president.

An RTS where you are allowed to fail and has a completely dynamic campaign with storyline.

This is an idea I've been meaning to get started on for a while, but I've got no idea if its good. pls r8

That's actually really bad game design, if the clues are obscure to the point you need to use autistic calculus to crack the code then nobody is going to play it.

Sounds sorta similar to FFXII. I would suggest all characters sharing a pool of actions, and you can only perform so many actions in a turn. So you would want inexpensive, reactionary characters on reserve, and would have to wait a few turns for expensive character combos.

The beauty is that only one person has to be good at solving the clues. In fact that person might not even be the one who notices how to solve them. Even if you are completely useless, your group can use you as bait for the next room.

The idea was to avoid turn-based combat (thus the side-scrolling combat) and instead make the combos more time or resource consuming. So a mage casting a levitate spell strong enough to lift a human up to where he needed to go would not only use a large amount of stamina, but also leave them open to attack while the spell is out. Each character would have to have a stamina bar that drains quick enough to require swapping out characters at least once per notable encounter, even for a skilled player. There would also have to be enemies that are weak to certain types of weapons that only specific characters are skilled with.

So you've never played any team based multiplayer games whatsoever, it's dead in the water.

I don't really know what the money would actually be used for, but I think it has potential.

GOTYAY

So it's a game about being a retard?

Alright, mine is nothing special but it's something that l believe would be worthy of trying out

That's pretty much what l had in mind, a soulsborne clone done the right way

How is that going to work in the game? Are you making the character voiced? Can they even speak?

Meh, why does it have to be a soulsclone?
How about a more interesting mix of genres? You play as a plague doctor helping people with their sick relatives. You gotta mix your own medicine by collecting herbs and shit, during travel you fight bandits and or creepy monsters/animals, you transport corpses towards pest mass graves, all the while making sure you don't get infected yourself. In a side mechanic you have to slowly heal and defend villages from the pest and help them get healthy and productive again, which gets you items and herbs that the peasants plant for you. As you progress you move to more noble patients and bigger cities etc, till you finally have to heal the queen.

(in regards to )
You don't fight the monsters at all. You only make the gear.

Basically like starting off with a deprived class in dark souls, but being relevant to the story progression, as in learning about the world and the game's lore at the same pace the main character is figuring things out too.
Not really, a lot would be left to the player's own interpretations, l even thought about the art style favoring characters concealing their face, or with very minimal facial traits like in Darkest Dungeon.
I would prefer to handle dialog like in the Zelda early 3D games (OoT,MM) where you can interact with the environment in a reasonable way but you won't heard the main character's voice.

Well, experimenting is not off the table, but l had in mind a soulsborne clone as the foundation for the idea, and yes, a plague doctor could very much be a different playable class, I suppose
One thing that l thought for a while was making the main character a crucifixion victim that somehow survived and introducing some specific mechanics where they have to spend the early stages of the game treating their wounds and adding the extra pressure of surviving in their crippling state until they can find help.

I actually like this idea a lot, I might actually take a stab at making a game like this!

If you do, post about it here. I'd love to see it in action.

Well not so much Four Swords, just a deeper couch co-op game. However I haven't thought much about online match making because I'm still focusing on combat. The game has no PVP at all. So I'm not worried about matchmaking. For online a lobby could work (and most likely using the Switch Online App for voice chat).

As for leveleling up it could be like Monster Hunter and Crystal Chronicles where your stats are mostly determined by gear or artifacts you win at the end of each mission. In this kind of game I don't see experience points being as useful since it's action based. Having points that determine rank with every dungeon you complete or fail could be how you unlock more missions.

Speaking of Switch online app, I want to make that thing useful for once. Not for voice chat, but for managing in-game mail boxes, inventory back stock, crafting, trades, etc. with those in the lobby and with friends outside.

And lastly I want to make a mercenary system where you can hire other people's avatars who have locked equipment to go on missions for you to harvest materials temporarily in offline mode like hired hunters with Street Pass. You can also hire mercs as NPCs for offline games as well. Though their ranks and gear could lock them out of certain difficulties of missions.

For gameplay, I'm imagining Cooking Mama-esque minigames for the various parts of forging weapons and armor.

Too bad something like this needs a strong art style and direction to do well probably.

I was hoping for more realistic craftsworking/ butchery, but I'd still be interested. As long as it isn't one of those idle games everyone keeps making.

Why are idea man threads a complete fucking joke? there aren't any good ideas here. Why are so much of these ideas story first, or x plus y? even for idea guys you are fucking trash.

The Isotower guy took mine, but I'd still like a full 3D tower sim. Isotower is in isometric view.

Very accurate

There aren't enough Diablo clones and most of the ones that exist are not very good. Here's my idea:

I will probably start making it once I release the game I am currently working on.

I'd go for it, especially if there's no "select a class" screen before the game starts.

Metroidvania with random items like binding of isaac

New Game from the menu would take you straight to the intro and then into the game itself. No classes as such, but class archetypes would loosely exist within the chassis/parts combos available to you. For example, you could make a 'tank' build by going for one of the heavy chassis and using hardpoints for mounting extra armor and shield modules. You can spec for crowd control or single target damage by mounting appropriate weapon types. You would start the game with nothing and acquire everything as you go.

Sounds like fun. It's a shame nothing where you play as a non human looking (ex. Megaman) robot sells well since normalfags can't project themselves onto the robot.

Thanks fam. Everything I have ever made has been niche stuff for autists like myself anyway. I make things that I want to experience.

Gameplay

Alternate campaign

It wasn't very good anyways.

A 2D platformer game with sand physics

The cube would make a good game. I imagine it would play kinda like The Thing where some people are traitors or insane and others can't really help you much.

I like this. Character death/resurrection could be adequately explained by the story, too.
Different types of chassis could also open up different routes/locations/interactions. A hovercraft chassis could take you over a swamp or quicksand safely, a standard humanoid chassis could gain trust of a purist faction, a heavy duty manipulator could open jammed doors, etc.

This is one of the coolest sci-fi settings ever. I love it.

You mean like this?

I would buy it.

Chapter 1: Game starts as typical WWII shooter. Nazis are the bad guys. You're doing Allied soldier things in Europe, using historically accurate weaponry to fight nazis and shit. Over the course of 8-10 hours, you fight your way across Europe, into Germany, and right into the Fuhrer bunker where you personally kill Hitler.
The credits roll in an unskippable cutscene. The protagonist goes home to the girl of his dreams. In snapshots and short cinematics we see them get married, move into a new house, have 2 kids with a third on the way. This all happens over about 3 or 4 years. Then, at the very end of the credits, we see a zombified hand reach out of the ground as Chapter 2 fades in.
The Nazis have risen as zombies and are rapidly retaking Europe. Being the premier Allied soldier who personally murdered Hitler, you're sent back into battle, and the nazis were really looking forward to that. Their new, zombified constitution makes them more difficult to kill with bullets, but their fervent bloodlust and undead rage has caused many to resort to close range combat and melee weaponry. You're still using historically appropriate weaponry, but the game has more focus on running and shooting since most of the nazi zombies are using long knives. You make your way to historical Auschwitz (remember the 6 million btw) through hordes of zombies, to reach a secret Fuhrer bunker believed to be beneath Auschwitz. You actually find a gladiatorial pit, with nazi zombies in the crowd and Zombie Hitler presiding over the arena. You fight some nazis in the pit, respawning in smaller numbers through gates and in the crowd. The player is expected to take a potshot at Hitler amidst the battles. This pisses Hitler off, and he jumps into the fray to fight you while the nazis all get frenzied. Large amounts of nazi zombies are constantly spawning and you have to fight your way over, under, and through them while Hitler is mingling in the crowd, occasionally leaping out to stab you and shrink back.
Upon killing zombie Hitler, a horrible screech is heard. Demonic limbs reach out from the ground to grab Hitler and the Nazi Zombies. In his rage, Hitler rips open a portal to Hell and sucks you in with him and his followers. There is horrible screeching, burning, and other hellish noise as the screen fades to black with you sinking into hell. Chapter 3 is displayed.
Arriving to Hell you discover that the nazis have taken over the place. While you spent the last 3-4 years fuckin your lovely wife, the Nazis were busy conquering Hell and subjugating the demons and Satan himself. At this point you have to go full Doomguy with 1949 weapons, emptying absurd amounts of human rage as you fight your way through the nein circles of Nazi Hell. The final circle is another battle pit, with the final boss immobile in the center. He is frozen from the waist down like in dante's inferno or whoever it was that came up with the circles and Satan being frozen in the bottom of hell. Nazis, Demons, and Nazi Demons swarm you while you are locked in final combat with the ultimate Hitlucifer, with his spinning, burning swastikas and other shit. Also most of the demons look like Jews. This is because the nazis have imprisoned the demons not because Jews are demons, okay? I'm just remembering the 6 million, that's all.
You defeat Hitlucifer, put an end to the nazis once and for all, and are ejected from the now completely normal Satan-controlled Hell. This time the credits start rolling, and they are skippable. But these are the real credits where you get to see like 500 fucking names of useless shitters you won't remember over 15 like minutes. The Chapter 1 credits were abridged and only contained important people, so it was a reasonable cutscene but long enough to fake you out as being real, but now you get to see special thanks about cats and other shit.
There is no Chapter 4.

Thanks fam.
Yep, that's the idea.
I hadn't considered this but I really like it. Thanks user!

Thanks for the insight. I think it's auspicious of you to say that, particularly the needlessly antagonistic part, because it would complement the tone of the game's story as well.

But I wouldn't go so far as to call it that because that's precisely what the tutorial is for anyway: to ease people into its unconventional game-play; I mean, I make it sound bad but I don't expect people to play through the tutorial every time they start a new game. In fact, that's why the tutorial is optional in the first place and why this game would have an arcade mode, unlocked after beating the game, with abridged cutscenes that has the characters quickly relay the most pertinent information so they know what's going on and why: so that it's easier for second time players.

Don't get me wrong: your method is good but it's not the right fit for my game.

I am surprised that no one has made a Moonman game or any significant mods other than the Doom one. I would totally work on a Moonman mod for Hatred if other anons were interested.

The last pie in the sky idea I have for this is a dungeon builder where you can make and build dungeons via simplified level editor. There are some AND/OR/XOR/ statements you can use for switches and certain variables like enemies remaining in room/floor. You can also customize a mob's stats and actions/perks as well as behaviors related to some variables to make them like mini bosses. You can have boss rooms in place of floor exits, invisible/destroyable walls, etc. Again, pie in the sky.

As for custom dungeons you'll be restricted who and what equipment you can have relative to dungeon. There's a mode you can play other player's random dungeons to earn cash. ompleting other player's dungeons you earn currency once per day per difficulty. Or you can search dungeons yourself. You can also get friends to co-edit your dungeons where you both become builders on the level.

...

Oh, and god help you if your car runs out of fuel while you're in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. There might be gas cans nearby, but there also might be entirely different things nearby.

You put the benis in the bagina.

Were you in the driving based horror thread a while back?

I'm gonna bite the bait
PLEASE FUCKING EXPLAIN TO ME HOW PORTAL IS A BAD GAME!

A sim game where you manage a snuff film studio.

It's not, he's just a reactionary shit head who lets imageboards think for him.

I just want an orc recruiting, commanding and breeding simulator.

The shadow of mordor games have you covered on two of those fronts.

Action game like DMC, specifically Nero, where you have his EX-Act and MAX-Act, but you can time it on literally every single possible action.

But you don't play as an orc.

Besides, it is filled with jewry.

You never said you wanted to.

Oh sorry, it was implied.

But yeah, I want a game where you start as a low slave orc and slowly rise yourself up, defeating heroes and other orcs and even breeding with the heroes you defeat to make even more powerful orcs.

Defiler wings is like that by with dragons

With that name… I guess is a porn game?

Yes. If it has breeding how would it not be?

Of all my idea guy ideas, I have maybe three that are the silliest and most worth sharing:

Have you considered learning the skills required to turn these ideas into reality?

>Main objective: Sent in to retrieve a VIP like character who is in a forbidden zone
>Same thing applies to allies and the VIP, you could complete the objective of bring the VIP back who could be near death or dead, nothing saying the VIP had to be brought back alive just retrieved

Monster Hunter, but Kids Next Door themed. Beat up on beasts like school lunch abominations and closet monsters as well as humanoid enemies like Count Spankula and Father. Run scavenging missions to collect material to build 2x4 weapons and gear with, and incorporate adult parts/tech in as you gather them from defeated enemies. Customize your kid, and have access to a variety of spammable gestures, including the traditional KND team pose from the series.

Cyberpunk pseudo-citybuilder mixed with a GSG
