Boredom. You get bored enough and you'll binge read any Webcomic. I read Kevin and Kell mostly for the bragging rights of having read the longest running Webcomic out of sheer boredom. It's honestly… mostly harmless. It's slightly more furry than Zootopia is, and it did get more liberal at around the 2010 era, but mostly it was just the day to day life of these characters. There's stuff that's far more pozzed or shitty out there.
And Jack, Jack is the Archetype of bad furry Webcomics, which makes it so great. It's practically The Room of bad furry webcomics. It's literal Furry Hell with Furry Christianity and the Furry Bible, yet it's also a future version of earth… It's like watching a car full of cats crash into a bus.

Weird, I didn't notice a lot of errors in the translation. The climax with Phoenix and Edgeworth in the fake trial was pretty amazing, though, I'll definitely give it credit for that.

Well, since we seem to be going this way anyway, here's probably the best worst piece of airplane erotica out there.

Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Final Fantasy XIV had a few good moments of absurdist humor. Not to turn this into east vs. west faggotry, but it seems like there's a greater nuance in comedy and delivery with Japanese devs, and they fully embrace and welcome the absurd and abstract.

Western devs on the other hand, simply try too hard, or they are reliant on other peoples' content as a substitute for comedy. References, memes, and absurdity for the sake of empty absurdity. Gearbox and R* games come to mind.

Black Isle had some pretty funny points in their games, and by extension, so did Obsidian. New Vegas had some prop-driven comedy, where you connect the dots yourself, and realize the situations that resulted in what you see. I liked little touches like that.

Larian has a few bouts of absurdity, but their comedy is extremely subjective since the tone is so generally jovial anyway. I'd like to see more games with some authentic British humor though, without using Monty Python as a crutch.

Early TF2 was hilarious for its time. Even the Portal games were genuinely funny before they got memed out and became Reddit games.

Thinking on it all, though; most games have given me a sensible chuckle. Nothing has really ever made me break out laughing from writing/narrative, every time a game has made me fall over laughing, has been solely from unintended consequences. (Emergent gameplay, glitches, multiplayer fuckery, etc.)

If anyone knows games that are truly, genuinely hilarious though, I'd be more than willing to give them a go. I've largely resigned myself to the notion that genuine comedy and video games just can't go together. Either because game writers and programmers are unfunny pieces of shit, or the humor is dumbed down so hard to grasp at fellow kids that it just falls flat.

Two words: Sengoku Rance.
Rance 4 was pretty funny at times, too. I suggest playing them for some good laughs, if not for the fap material and good gameplay.
If they aren't your style, the Sam & Max games got a few laughs out of me, particularly S1 and S2. Hit the Road was funny, as well, but some of the jokes are really dated and won't land for some younger audiences.

I've never played a Rance game. Always thought it was just a rapey VN and that's it, but I'm all for checking it out if there's some laughs to be had.

I forgot entirely about Sam & Max. I loved Hit the Road when it had come out, but dated humor doesn't bother me. Probably because my own sense of humor is pretty dated too.

The Bulletstorm devs put out a Call of Duty parody a few years ago, but it doesn't really have any proper gameplay. Would it be possible to make something like this into a real game?

The game, much like it's predecessor, is worn out shit written by hacks user.

I played SR4 as a busty redhead with the male cockney accent and I'm guessing it was much funnier than it might have been otherwise just for that.

The shoehorning of stand-up sets into GTA 4 show exactly why stand-up doesn't work in the medium. If you don't need comic timing then slow burners, whacky stacks building over time, visual gags, tightly scripted cutscenes can work but relaying wit via games is something I've yet to see done right.
