I just now figured out how to use Nova: it's all about stacking your abilities. Which is kind of shit when you think about it:
Nova is a very squishy frame, but excels at taking out larger groups of people.
Her 1 needs people in her own proximity.
Her 2 is pretty hard to utilize without the syndicate mod, but is an AoE bomb.
Her 3 is only useful for teammates, you can't make enemies port into cliffs afaik.
And her 4th ability I like to call "The Triggering", needs large hordes of enemies in a (surprisingly) small space to be effective.

I really want to like her, but she's not making it easy.

dump strength, go for duration and range, use molecular prime
3 is for speedruns or annoying teammates, and while 1 is up you have damage reduction
she's mostly for making defense easier

You find them during syndicate missons, click the hexigon symbol on the navigation bar to start them.

You do syndicate missions.
Each syndicate has its own scattered around randomly.
Get animal instinct or loot radar to make finding them easier.

Does shield damage count? Either way Frost is mandatory for that challenge.

Before you start doing syndicate missions go to the wiki and see what each syndicate offers and what items you want from them, when you raise rep for one you lower the rep of another.

And if you're not part of any Syndicate yet, there's an interface next to the navigation panel. Use it and pick a syndicate of your choosing to work with. Pick the ones whos rewards you like.

Kala-azar on Eris, me and another user did it earlier today. He used Equinox and a lot of Energy Recharges, so I'm guessing you could do the same with any AoE frame like Ember or something. I didn't even do anything, he wrecked the place. You could also bring Frost, Nova, Vauban and Excalibur (dps and blind) for complete area denial.

Bear in mind that you can technically be on good terms with four syndicates but it caution and it's easy to work for three.

Those are pretty good actually. Rakta cernos and Braton prime are good guns. The cernos one is definitely the better of the two, braton I'd reroll because impact isn't great and I don't think the braton even does majority impact.

Her 3 is just for getting around. Her 4 is great. A massive slow (75%) and all enemies affected take double damage. Just build for duration and you'll see.

You nigs seem to be a bit confused here, allow me to clarify:

To enter the Derelict missions you need a "Derelict Mission Key" like "Orokin Derelict Defense key" for a defense mission.
That key is consumed when used an only the person who initiates the mission needs one.
They are also dirt cheap to make and the blueprints for them can be bought from the market.

Also, every mission other than Assassination & Defense also spawns what is known as "Orokin Vault". This vault requires one of the 4 "Dragon Keys" to open, and it is always random which one. Opening the vault and grabbing the thing inside will award a random corrupted mod at the end of the mission.
You can also only have one of the 4 "Dragon Keys" equipped and all of them have their own negative effects (slow, damage reduction, no shields, ect).

If you are going for the octavia piece it can drop from survival at 20,40,60, min mark.

You do not need the dragon keys unless you are going for the vault. (And you should run capture missions for those, not survival)

The only thing they did was add 6000 kuva to the sortie rewards which just dilutes the pool more.

They already said that a few old weapons like Snipetron are coming back and it's bringing Infested Zaws. I don't know whether Infested Zaws are going to be event-only or are going to be permanent.

So I actually just don't have a primary for level 80+ content. Soma prime carried me for awhile but I don't think there's a way to build it to do anything in the late game without a riven. My twin grakatas have killed just about everything that I have come across but there isn't enough ammo in the world to run them by themselves.

It's more exclusive mastery coming back to the game. Snipetron has been retired from the game for a long period of time (replaced with the Lanka) and has only been brought back a couple times for tac alerts. I'm hoping they find somewhere to tuck it like they did with the Gorgon and Boar after they removed them from the market.

They cost too much currently in that everyone started at 0% progress in PoE. People are afraid to experiment with them because of this, and no one has outright come out and said "this this and this are the best of the best of Zaws, without a doubt." Infested Zaws have the potential to have innate Toxin, Viral, or Corrosive if you take the current infested weapons in the game like Caustacyst/Dual Ichors as reference, so they could have a much higher starting point, and more return on investment.

What's interesting about the zaws is that so few people are using them so their rivens have extremely good disposition compared to their stats, probably some of the highest ratios in the game.

Tenora is a good weapon and that riven will turn it into a status monster, armor will melt in seconds if you mod for corrosive.

Eh, Soma Prime is considered to be one of the if not the strongest weapon ingame currently.

If it is not destroying stuff fast, then it's just not modded properly.

i built a second zaw first one was with tier 1 parts and turned out to be a staff, not my favorite weapon category by a long shot using stuff from tier 2 and tier 3. i went with the "heavy blade" looking fucker at tier 3 and did what i could to guarantee i would get a 1h sword and i did.

i then went for a damage/crit-focused counterweight, and what seemed to be a mid-road link, for a total of heavy damage/slow attack speed on the blade, damage/crit on the CW at the expense of status/speed, and no obvious modifiers on the link. ended up with a slowish 1h sword that has a cumulative total of ~300 base melee damage unbuffed 100ish slash, 80ish puncture, 30ish impact on top of 10% status and a native 32% crit after gilding.

with primed fury and berserker, the attack speed becomes pretty quick and the damage starts to ramp up pretty easily. i only have Vengeful Revenant for a V stance right now, but i imagine with Crimson Dervish this thing would probably be sortie-worthy the way it is now.

clap another forma or 2 on it, use critical delay. or grab heavy caliber. either way, you're losing out on roughly 1/8 of it's total potential by having that empty slot. i like critical delay better because the lower fire rate helps with ammo economy and helps to make sure you make every shot count.

You could try the akvasto. It's not quite as accurate as the lex at long ranges, but it's firerate is 5x higher and has decent riven disposition.

That's the Vaykor Marelok, which is also a hard-hitting hitscan secondary that can crit. I'd also recommend the Pandero and regular Vasto Prime since its buff. Depends where you are MR-wise.

If the whole point is to maximize STATUS then you don't leave much space for raw damage mods. Besides, guns with high firerate and large mags can be used as utility to inflict status and run away/leave someone else who maxed their damage to take care of the enemies.

You can grab Lex Prime as early as MR5 with some mild relic farming, and it really holds up as a secondary throughout the game. Vaykor Marelok you need MR6 and a high standing with Steel Meridian or you can trade for it. Pandero is MR7 and Vasto Prime is MR0.

Why would you want to maximize status though ?
Most of the bosses are immune to status effects and everyone with a proper build will have any status they need already on their weapon.

Appearance AND mechanics. She looks like shit, the glass elements look like they were slapped on at the last moment, and her design comes off as if someone wanted to start as a samurai but stopped halfway down. Also that ugly brown color just doesn't look good at all. It's unpleasant to look at.
Mechanically the lash is just junk. The knockback is there to make it even slightly relevant because they're starting to learn that just damage isn't going to make anything worthwhile.
The armor buff is alright. Not great but not terrible.
The mirrors' area is so small and the synergy with splinterstorm seems more like a second thought than anything intentional.

Dual Skana IS NOT liked by people, at least according to the people of wikia and the fact that it has the highest riven mod disposition. With that riven mod alone, it deals cca 9850 damage per slash, finisher damage is rarely used outside of specialized frames or you're jumping all over the place. The negative crit chance on slide is not that big of a deal, assuming there was a deal to begin with.
That Hind mod is complete shite as well. It's all luck based anyway. I've got one of mine for Ignis and I'm still 4 mastery ranks away, and the Boltor one is sort of a still born for me too because I want it on a Primed Boltor, but the BP can cost anywhere between 35 and 200 plat.

Actually fuck it, adding onto this. All the clan frames are worth your time, but it's mostly volt and banshee. Zephyr is pretty niche, and nezha is a discount rhino so I'd hold off on getting him until you want the mastery or are just collecting all the frames.

Like the other user said, banshee is an amazing damage buffer, but she needs team mates to back her up or she'll get annihilated. Zephyr is a good "tank" frame and has some interesting movement. She also has a niche with any projectile weapon, as she has an augment that increases her movement and projectile speed. Nezha is an okay starter tank, but again you'd be better off with rhino.

Well Zephyr sounds a lot more interesting when you put it that way, since I don't really want to trust random pugs to keep a Banshee alive

I don't mean to sell banshee short, as from a "meta" point of view she's miles ahead of zephyr, but she has no way of mitigating damage, so if you want something more survivable I'd pick her.

you gotta start adding forma to stuff bro. for reference, my Lex P has 5 forma on it 4 were for a normal pre-riven build, the 5th was added cause i got a solid riven for it so in all honesty you're looking at 2-3 forma at least to get your Lex to sortie-levels. i had 4 because i was using two primed mods (target cracker and gambit).

So i was looking up what i need to get in order to build mesa and i am a bit shocked.
Am i being retarded or is it a huge grind to even get to the boss that drops her parts? You need to do the most annoying type of mission to have not even a five percent chance to get the nav coordinate in the last cache that you need to find on top of finishing the mission or get to round 15 in the survival which probably takes even longer. You need 3 of those to craft the key to the boss and even assuming you find 3 other people so you can share keys you can expect to do this at least twice.

Mesa is something you need to "background grind". You're gonna go nuts trying to get her if you are just running derelict over and over. Grind some other stuff, put some formas on, and just slowly get the nav coordinates. You'll have enough keys soon, and it won't be hard to find people to key share in recruiting chat once you do.

You do realize that you could take off Rifle Aptitude, max Malignant Force, and have the same net Status chance and have 8 capacity to spare? Going Status on a weapon usually means using a couple or all 4 of the dual stat mods like Malignant Force, which I know you don't have all of them yet, but Rifle Aptitude is only giving you around 1.5% for 9 fucking capacity dude. This isn't even min/maxing autism, it's just a worthless mod.

Also, no one uses Status Duration mods in any builds that I am aware of. On your build in particular it is exceptionally useless because Corrosive procs are permanent. Prolonging status ailments in general is rarely useful since enemies will be dead before they wear out anyways.

Glad you learned your lesson. Though a couple dual stat mods on a high fire rate weapon still isn't too bad since it doesn't matter if you only proc 30% of the time when you fire several bullets a second. A weapon should be powerful enough to kill, and if it can't then the status can carry you the extra mile.

R. Cernos because charge time is fast, so I don't have to worry about firing a half-damage shot every now and then.

Playing with a dread I found myself having to fire multiple shots to kill anything, and charging for a moderate amount of time each shot. At least the daikyu kills shit in 1~2 arrows
