Minecraft

Which version was objectively the best? I'm more nostalgic for Alpha, but Beta at least added some nice features until it shat itself at 1.8.
if anyone cares we have a Alpha 1.2.6 server at 13.55.19.140

Don't be silly. If you play the latest version on Xbox One™ you can enjoy all your favorite mods and skinpacks.

If the adventure update was the only thing during the beta that ruined Minecraft for you, go with 1.7.3. However, if you're looking for an alpha-esque experience, I'd go with 1.2

no version is the best version

all i needed was a bed

1.7.10 is the best if you plan to play modded. There's some good stuff for later versions, but forge is even worse on those versions, on top of there being way fewer mods. Vanilla went to shit as soon as hunger and their first attempt to improve combat happened.

The last time I played Minecraft was its 1.2.5 release, so enlighten me; what the hell even is adventure mode in the first place?

Not "adventure mode", the adventure update.
minecraft.gamepedia.com/Adventure_Update
It's the update that added the hunger system. It's basically the point where it became apparent that Mojang was just going to add half-assed features to say they were doing something, without ever making major changes or improvements to the actual game. What they did with combat was basically bandaids over a gaping axe wound.

Fuck creativity, someone should just copy paste dark souls combat mechanics into a minecraft/test mod. They can add better player physics (weight, inertia, momentum, etc.) while they're at it for a completely fresh spring clean fuckin' game.

Damn, I'm fucking stupid. I've been thinking they added some storyline or something this entire time, and you schmuks are just talking about hunger. Oh well

There is an adventure mode, but all it really does is limit how you can break blocks, so people can build maps without the player being able to break everything. People were already making adventure maps before the mode was implemented, though. There's also that Telltale game stupidly called "story mode", but I'm sure you already know about that.

Any commands to see who's online?

Or Monster Hunter, though I've never played, but want to. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic combat, or that directional blocking and attacking from… what was it… some medieval shit. I don't know it just needs one redeeming branch of gaming to go full platinum star of cumming gold to be GOTY

No need to be specific.
Any sort of attack animations would make a severe, positive difference.
Right now, there's no attack anamations, attacks are just instantaneous hitscan, for players and monsters alike.
No way to dodge anything, and player attacks have no weight, just attack, only way to affect it it is by changing it's damage or effects on the hit enemy.

I'm wondering about something.

Does the recent Minecraft updates include dual wielding? It's one of few mods for the base game that I thought it would be pretty useful for facility back when it was alpha and beta stages.

I do not know of a way to kill yourself that's gruesome enough to recommend to you right now.

Yes, using a modpack like FTB 1.12 is actually pretty fun when the modders decide to include shit like riot shields which work great dual wielded.

Vanilla was always garbage, so whichever version offers the best mods.

go write your own, faggot
wiki.vg/Server_List_Ping

Cool. Got a crack for it?

This pretty much sums up my opinions on Minecraft nowadays.

There was some Russian teen who killed himself with a handheld circular saw recently

Combat update kinda added it but failed miserably.
Some mods allow for it, pre and after combat update.

1.7.10 is the best version.

This has been bothering me for a while now but, why the hell has Minecraft never bothered with actual furniture for houses? I mean, even the mods for the things are few and far between although I do remember one mod that had furniture that actually did all sorts of neat little things it just always bothered me. Like what the hell is the point of making a study in your cozy mountain fortress if you have never to use for studying?

No one is going to join you're server

This post.
I endured until the combat update which required you to time your swings, so you just stand there like an asshat waiting for your attack to "recharge" while the AI doesn't change and 20 zombies still bumrush you down.

You can put items in your off-hand, including shields, but I don't think there's any functional dual wielding.

Like I said previously, 1.7.10 is best for modded. It, by far, has the most mods. However, 1.10 and up have some really cool mods, plus updates for old mods that aren't on 1.7.10. The major issue with 1.10+, aside from the lack of mods, is that forge was made terribly unoptimized and the memory usage per mod shoots through the roof, so much you'll have issues in 1.10 without even half the number of mods you could have on 1.7.10. The lead (and pretty much solo) dev of forge is an egotistical asshat who doesn't care, because his absurdly expensive rig doesn't have issues with it, so, obviously, it's everyone else's fault for not having powerful enough PCs. For Minecraft.

Players found ways to imitate furniture using stairs, signs, fences, and pressure plates, because they didn't have any actual furniture to use. Notch and Mojang, being the lazy devs they are, simply made that method the "official" way to do furniture, as can be seen in the game's villages.

I remember my first dirt house. I remember not ransacking villages because I thought they were player houses like the little dipshit dumbass I was back then. Oh man. I miss those days. I want them back.

...

You kind of have to be 18 to post here, user.

I couldn't afford a PC and I saw my uncle paying it. I didn't even know what the internet held.

I was 13 in 2012 when I first started playing. That was 5 years ago.

Does that mean until this year you were browsing here ILLEGALLY?

...

The rules don't say anything about lurking, friend.

shut up pops I've been browsing Holla Forums since 1998 when I was only 6

Well yeah? Well I've been browsing it since before OP came out as a faggot.

The early twenties are the new underage

...

But that's impossible…. OP is, was, and always will be a faggot.
STOP IT DON'T YOU SEE YOU'LL DESTROY THE SPACE TIME CONTINUUM IF YOU KEEP THIS UP!!!

The only way to avert this fate is to check my dubs.

one day, there'll may people browsing here who weren't alive before the PS3 came out
some of them might be here right now

Friendly reminder
The minecraft Dev team literally slapped a hunger meter in because don't starve had one.
And that is literally the only reason.
The entire utterly retarded mechanic that makes actually playing the game a chore was added because they were asshurt over another dev getting popular.

tbh it's better than instantly shoving pork chops in your face for huge health restores and makes producing food a necessity, which is something to add to an otherwise more lifeless and pointless game

No it's not, making cows and pigs not respawn makes it a fucking chore. Having the first priority to be to grow crops is a chore too, you have to stand still for way too long to get bread. It fucked over the game

eat shit fuck off retard
Minecraft is not a fucking farming game which is why they had to nerf bread like 10 fucking times

It's just like my Japanese animes.

Have they reverted that yet? That was the stupidest thing they've done in a long history of stupid decisions.

I like how Terraria went in the exact opposite direction and gave complete furniture sets for every biome in the game. In some cases multiple sets per biome.

tbqh I'm pretty sure almost every feature added after like 2012 was unnecessary and the devs could've easily added shit like more progression, end-game goals, optimizations, a "crafting" system that was actually modular instead of the crafting table basically being an interactive UI that could be replaced by a drop-down box, etc.
I remember shit like tinkerer's construct and the technic pack being fun as hell though

there are people browsing here who are already dead

then play creative, the game was devoid of features so breeding and shit added something to do

you don't have to wait for bread and getting food in general is easy as fuck, it's supposed to be a survival game so I don't really see how it's a step in the wrong direction

...

Nigger.
That's like saying oh hey we know we broke the fucking game, here's LITERALLY THE ALPHA in the new engine pls don't be mad

You are going to have to wait for bread otherwise you starve, this involves standing still to not make the hunger bar go lower.

...

literally play the mods because vanilla isn't worth a penny, play a more fleshed out autism machinery sim or a more fleshed out survival sim like terraniggercraft

the fuck is this argument? you can get stockpiles of food by killing animals and monsters and gathering mushrooms in caves

They dont respawn

Oh and mushrooms are too rare to count on every time

...

I played for a good while after the hunger update and you could easily amass tons of food to last until you could grow, fish or breed more. Anyhow I don't think the concept of hunger is a problem but the list of changes included with the update, like completely fucking up the worldgen to be boring as fuck with no cool deformations, adding XP and all flavors of gay shit, so people instinctively hate hunger because it came with all that.
Seriously how the fuck can one starve to death in that game, unless they've radically changed it or you're playing multiplayer with hostile destructive players, or you're so bad you forget the hunger bar exists until you're dying.

...

Nope, pretty sure they have not. There's too many kiddos with pic related as their skin playing brown bricks game for microjew to change it.
I literally just typed "minecraft cool teen skin" into google and got that. Pardon me while I vomit.

So edgy it fucking hurts.

...

And its a nigger cyborg.

Cyborg has always been a nigger.

I think the most fun I had with it was in beta 1.2, I had some cool modpack that came with shit like seasons, an early version of that village mod, randomly generated dungeons like volcanoes and pirate ships, ran like shit on my toaster but I could spend hours playing with it. I think back them the actually interesting seeds like gargamel still worked too.

...

Never underestimate the power of autism.

I don't think that game was even conceived at the time the hunger meter was added.

The problem with hunger is that it affects the player in all the wrong ways.
1. hunger impedes the player's ability to regen, but regen itself reduces the saturation variable causing the player to hunger faster, forcing the player to stop and eat and eat and eat so they regain full health at a snails pace
2. hunger itself becomes a death sentence once saturation is reduced to zero, killing the player within a short time span without inflicting any other penalties beforehand, it would make more sense for hunger to cause slowness and weakness debuffs, and only becoming fatal after a day or two of fasting
3. regen shouldn't be tied to hunger at all, if they want to impede the player healing, they should just remove regen and force the player to use potions, or only impede regen when player has starved for a couple days with damage that outweighs their regen
(4 maybe) I might be wrong on this because I only played modded, but I recall there being idle hunger, causing many a player deaths simply by idling in a chunk full of machines because so many mods are just time-sinks (do X then wait Y minutes until Z).

Give me the version you think would be best to mod, I want to see what it would take to unfuck the game without forge.

I've seen minecraft porn better than this.

THAT IS SO FUCKING EDGY
Holy fucking autism, batman.
That robot skin is pretty cool though.

But user, its a minecraft themed animatronics.

This reminds of naruto AMVs with linkin park.

Is that a song specifically written about the FNaF series?

Yeah I know. That was the only good thing about that. The edge still fucking hurts.

Exactly. Its just those naruto and gta loving kids stepped down for generation of minecraft, fnaf, roblox and jacksepticeye loving kids to arise.

You know what they say, the more things change the more they stay the same.

One thing is some shitty anime and open world sandboxes with mature elements. The other is being a fan of colored hair nu-males.

If you hate it then play in creative mode

you

faggot

Mods, can you please delete this thread? It's already deeply embarrassed me as a human being, so there's no reason as to why this autism being posted should be allowed to continue.

It's my main motivator in terms of self-improvement.

Niggers

But user, we only just started.

Right now I'm playing skyfactory 3.0 and its fun as all heck. I'd love to see what Holla Forums does on one of those servers.

…How much of this shit do you have saved?

Depends how much you want, baby.

is that basically sky block survival, but you have mods and have to grind for shit to fill a quest book?

I'm impressed he took the time to not just download those, but also encode them to fit on here.

Why are there so many to begin with? Are they all just animated in the same program or is there some faggot who is just really prolific at it?

Blender. All of them done in blender. There's a lot of prefabs made by autistic children with minecraft and fnaf models to animate.

Yeah, right now I'm getting close to mid/end game. I still haven't figured out how to make my own dimensions yet, but I do have a dark soularium jetpack, a nuclear reactor, a shit ton of chickens, refined storage, a mob grinder and a wither cage.

I still need to work on my crop automation and a bunch of other stuff, but it is rewarding figuring out things on your own and seeing just how far you can make things. I've made a fort down in the beneath with a lava moat to keep away the Grue, and in the beginning before I figured out the reactor had 2 level 10 coal chickens powering 2 generators so I could get materials faster. I had to work out a filter system to separate the feathers, shit and eggs into a trash chest while the coal went into each generator.

But i know you don't want something quality, you want something like this.

God fucking dammit, I could handle the rest but that one is really grating on me.

This is horrifically horrible.

There are people who have a series running with some teenager kid roleplaying as markiplier in minecraft, but i won't convert that since its 22 minutes long each episode.

Have this instead.

I could convert some useful political videos in batches instead of this shit.

Nah, I'll take minecrap and streamer autism over political flavor.

Well, i guess its an insight on what newest generation of children likes to make. Useful for psychoanalitic research.

I dislike those modpacks because I already know they're going to throw enough shit at me that will make it a breeze to get through the quest book, it's just that everything takes a huge initial time-sink to start and then it switches to hoarding where you have to stock up on so much of food/liquids/whatever to pass the quests.
If you pay attention to what you're doing, there's really no fucking it up, and there's no encroaching danger like a time limit to rush through anything.

A million years of evolution, and it has all been leading up to this. The pinnacle of human achievement. The blood of kings paved the road of progress that has brought us to this point.

Almost 3 million views on youtube. Maybe its worth something.

It's not like MORE content is going to make your shitty non-game any fucking worse.

That being said, good luck making the game even slightly fun without downloading and tweaking a shitton of mods to add difficulty and purpose to playing it.

This is the worst one yet simply because nothing fucking happens and that music trap loops forever. Why

You want gay shit with youtubers instead?

This has 14 million views on jewtube. I'd webm but my computer crashes when I try to make webms

Cringing is sort of entertaining, it's better than being outright bored

The only way to compensate is to go backwards in time. You must become a board game elitist. Atari and NES are new and trash babby shit. 3 tier chess is THE FUTURE. AD&D is weekly. Arcane mind fuck analog games are TECHNOLOGY and UNDER THE ICEBERG in THE DEEP.

Anyone who uses a custom skin they didn't make themselves is a supreme faggot.

user, the whole point why i make webms is to not give them any views.

I know, that's why I explained why I couldn't webm

You know you can link shit through hooktube to keep from giving channels views, and keep out of jewgle's tracking?
You just replace youtube.com with hooktube.com in the url.
Watch: hooktube.com/watch?v=pzBt4KZrWCY

Well, your shit is 40 minutes anyway, can't webm that even if i wanted.

...

I was going to try but holy fuck it's 42 minutes long.

wasn`t these guys the ones that made that minecraft porn video and they actually uploaded it into youtube for a few hours?

People have webm'd 90 minute long movies back when the filesize limit was 8mb. You just have to believe, user.

To be fair, it's not even worth the effort

I wonder if kung pow with 16 mb limit can be improved in quality today.

I am pretty sure i can find minecraft porn video on youtube without problems anyway.

shit taste

Talking about attack on titan.

This one is even better.

...

This is the gayest thing I've seen since

You don't think this one was left unpozzed, right?

Do you just have nothing better to do than trawl the internet for shorty minecraft videos?

*shitty

...

You right, i don't. But i guess lets end this on this note.

Wow user, I'm impressed

I feel empty

remember to use only ffmpeg, xmedia recode is a mistake

Why?

Also I'm incapable of encoding webms at the moment, due to shit hardware overheating and shutting down whenever I try to encode but I'm always looking to learn more about it, I had been using xmedia recode in the past though

Maybe you should build something of your life then. Weight lift 3x a week, read a book for 30 minutes 4x a week, meditate for 30 min 5x a week, and practice a specific skill the hard way for 45 min 5x a week. Play high quality games, eat high quality food, drink high quality liquids, think high quality thoughts, feel high quality feelings, and share/have high quality moments with others. Wear fresh clean clothes in the morning, vacuum, scrub and organize your home twice a month, change your sheets and pillow case weekly, brush your teeth in the morning and at night (before coffee), floss at night,

If you literally do just those things, you won't feel empty ((which if we want to get arcane, and to give your mind something to play around with, would be void >> air vs light >> fire && blood(??) >> water && metal >> earth; aka recognized as a mechanical, spiritual, animating force and substance in and of itself, and definitely not an unfamiliar one. Consider the east asian use of void)).You can do whatever and expand on your regimen later.

What are you, a monk?

...

We have a lot to learn from monks, and monkeys too. A lot of mental stimulation and optionality there. I wouldn't even separate the two; put them in the same boat. Monks and monkeys.
If I were to equate the elements to a (brain) chemical predisposition, based on this Braverman type test, I would say

The Light, Void, Blood, Metal stuff is an extension and sophistication of its root element. I included some medical alchemicy zodiac stuff since it's also what I'm interested in, plumbing it for insight, wisdom and perspective. I check out all the esoteric or philosophical stuff, skimming it usually. In my own life I employ more zen/buddhist monk and basic element stuff than anything. I use the chinese 5 element system for qi gong/internal movements though. I haven't used the medical astrology for qi gong besides the four temperaments, but that'll be fun once I do.

And I have a high level of neuro-physiological control, compared to your average joe. My grandmother was a Buddhist and owned a temple at some point, so it was deeply impressed upon me that even adults think they can control some arcane spiritual animus aescetic shit, and they're considered superior and mature for it. I recommend and you find a philosophical (psycho-spiritual) system and become initiated into it. They're a way to unique and purposeful self and community cultivation.

Ah the Graf Zahl of Minecraft modding.

Learn to encode your shit when you post this degeneracy

The thing is, thanks to Microsoft's purchase, you can kiss goodbye to making a profitable game with a " first person cube/grid based world", because you would be sued to death, and also thanks to their connections with the media, you would be shunned to death too for plagiarism.

I think your sister needs an intervention.

I didn't bother to encode it at all, that's straight from the source. Apparently the other videos from the source are all 1080 and between 64-400mb, I'm not even going to waste cycles to bring those down to 16mb.
But seriously, what fucking version of this shitpile should I examine with mcp and try unfucking the game?

Theperson who made this has talent, they're just wasting it on fucking Minecraft. My biggest fucking gripe about anything is wasted potential.

Why?

user you can do the same animation if you're dedicated enough. Animating in anything is 10% knowledge (which you can learn from the internet) and the rest if practice.

...

I remember it so well. Jayisgames had a little thing going on back during the summer of 2009 where you could write a review for one of three games and the most detailed and thorough reviews would get posted on the site. The games they had were Upgrade Complete, Lights, and Minecraft. For whatever reason, Minecraft sounded interesting based off of the little one paragraph note. The last sentence was "If you're up for something a little different, try it out."

The first taste of it was really fun. Even if I just bumbled around on some single player maps for a while, barely building anything, it still seemed fun. Messed around on all sorts of servers, flatgrass, lava survival, and The Archives. It was so fun when I finally set up my first server for my friends. We would come back every so often and play on a new map. Eventually Classic turned into indev, infdev, alpha. Perhaps one of the most fun times I had with them was when school got snowed in for a week, and we spent most of it building a giant house tower, before razing a few beaches to make a giant glass sky bridge.

Every so often we take another look, set up a server, have some fun. But Classic always holds a special place in my heart.

Which in turn reminds me of DBZ AMVs with linkin park.

I'm 20 now, but I've been browsing chans since I was 12.

...

for me i had a realy rough childhood with a bad pc, minecraft was quite the low end game so it was good

this game was alot of times my biggest escape. it wasn't about getting the best gear building the biggest golden penises, but about just walking and enjoying the great peace that was minecraft the soundtrack was good and the game made my mind at peace, if i felt scared angry or sad.

I know what it's like with a bad PC. I had to play classic with the render fog set to 3.

1.2.5, becouse Tekkit Classic is still best modpack ever released

That's because Notch can't code for shit. I played some of the Alpha versions with minimum draw distance and still couldn't get double digit fps. Same PC runs 1.12 at full speed

Not Alpha, Classic.
It was because the computer we had at home was actual shit.

I remember the minecraft. It was a passion project of a swedish literal nobody that got out of hand. Then he got overwhelmed by the success and in the end sold his magnum opus to MS. Now it's an educational platform to make kids smarternot really, but maybe more easily influenced through community control.

Fun times. Play the new Tech-mod, With the powerplants, fully MP and fun as fuck.

Because xmedia recode is fucking gay. ffmpeg is the ABSOLUTE BEST and is the backbone of a lot of good programs as well anyways.

...

When I was little, my computer could barely play Minecraft on lowest settings and very near view distance. Now, my computer can't even play Minecraft. I've downgraded. Luckily someone is letting me borrow their laptop.

Whatever update(s) added these killed the game.

THE GAY COMMUNITY

kikes aren't allowed on Holla Forumsolk.
get out

You must be at least 18 to post here.
fuck off memer beaners

Remove squeaker.

Vanilla is boring and always has been. The only reason you like older versions is because of the mystery and lack of experience you had back then, once you know how things work it becomes extremely boring.

If you want a flat, objective improvement to the game, get the technic launcher and play tekkit classic. More building options, more objectives, cool machines, and it still feels like the same game.

It also makes hunger not such a pain in the ass to work with, because you can automate farming down to a science or use magic to replicate stacks of food. You have higher objectives than just "survive". Would recommend, it's the autistically technical experience that minecraft should be.

go back to making web comics you gay

I didn't expect to feel this feel.

...

Damn it guys.
What version of minecraft would be worth trying to unfuck? I want to see what MCP can do but it entirely depends on the version.

When I was an edgy teen, it was DBZ AMV's, downloading on dialup.

Honestly I want to run all the universal electricity mods because they had conveyors and ICBM, but I can't find any of the files. I remember at one point they got nommed by voltz, which got nommed by technic. Only one I ever played with was ICBM, fun though.

How many mods do you want? You'll be able to have a lot more on 1.7.10 and previous versions than you can on 1.10 and up, even with things like foamfix. Do you want the newest mods and updates, or do you want the most options of mods to choose from? Do you really want Thaumcraft? What version you should play is highly dependent on the mods you want.

I think I tried looking for that a while back because conveyors are cool, but the project got taken down because of some legal bullshit between devs of other shit.

It's not about having more mods, it's about trying to fix the base issues with minecraft. MCP is what enables you to modify the deobfuscated source. That's why I'm asking what version would be worth trying to straighten out the bag of snakes. 1.10 would require reverting the entire combat update.

Sorry, thought you meant MCA.

It was shown off at a game show in a very basic form at that point.
I think it was still a Chrome Game.

Well, that's a less painful combination.

I don't understand why both Notch and Microsoft refused to fire the talentless hacks and use their vasts amount of money to hire a talented russian team to remake the gameplay and remake Minecraft's engine to work even on a Pentium 2.

...

day 4 of nofap, why did i think of jerking off to this?

I mean good job on doing nofap, keep it up… but really, dog porn?

Minetest is better

Honestly the minecraft models are the most offensive thing about it.

Notch originally designed minecraft to run on really shit systems, but at that point pentium 4 was about as shit as it could handle, I should know, I ran a server off an old dell with a pentium 4.
And honestly, vanilla minecraft can still run on pretty shit systems, it's when you add forge that the duct tape holding minecraft together bursts into flames and all the spaghetti falls out.

Maybe the autism is spreading through the air?

Is it over? Can i save him?
Or the best thing i can do is just putting him out of the misery?

Notch was a fucking retard that decided to write Minecraft in Java and somehow expect it to work on Shitboxes.

Minecraft CAN run on a Pentium 3 potentially, just not the current Java Engine. Minecraft Pocket Edition was written in C++. Hence why it runs fine on shitty phones. They were originally going to merge the superior Pocket Edition Engine with the PC engine but decided not too because it would break PC mod compatibility

You know, the thing with mining a block and it reappearing right. They really fucked up

...

So did that fat fuck ever honor his promise to give everyone who bought the alpha every version of the game or did he welsh on that?

You have every pc patch ever released, goy. : ^ )

I'm afraid it may be too late to save his soul.

I haven't actually played vanilla, probably since before betterthanwolves was a thing, so I can't speak from experience with block update lag, but I know I got it frequently in modpacks.
I think it got worse when they merged the client/server code.

>The tits are square, but for labia she has no labia, because it's actually a ballsack.

...

4K VERSION
It's still cracking me up. I've missed half E3 because i couldn't stop laughing

they added custom map generation that allowed you to make flaot

When?

Hey teenagers are little. I was just being congenial.

Seriously dude, who fucking thought this was a good idea hahahaha

Like almost two years ago

This game was fucked from the start because of the idiots in charge of it and anyone who was around for Notch blatantly stealing and failing to properly implement mods knew this

It would take a time machine and a well composed Java course.

I'm not sorry

Why would you even go through the effort of encoding that?
I've seen them all already.

I can still download MCP for any version of minecraft, so it's a matter of finding one and sticking to it.

I ripped it straight from naughty machinima.

That's honestly not as awful as I thought that would be but still pretty horrible.

Oh I see. The source is a ridiculous filesize that would take like, an hour to re-encode.

...

If I play, I play on the update just before beds were introduced. Beta 1.2_03 or something, beds remove half the fun.

Singleplayer is just a local server now. You click the open to lan button to make it into a listen server.

probably the sound tbh

Yes, but its not too functional.
Whatever is in your offhand can only right click, so its main use is placing blocks while holding a tool in your main hand. Can't change it on the fly either, a slot in the inventory screen you have to move items into whenever you need to switch.
Mainly added for the shield in the 'combat' update which basically makes you invincible while its up. Other features of the update made switching items very slow to come to your hand, and whenever you swing it awkwardly looks like its being pulled out very slowly again with a very annoying bar showing you how 'drawn' the item is.

Friendly reminder there is now an entire generation with basically this as a fetish. Instead of just furries we'll have people with a fetish for cube based creatures, in about 10-20 years they'll be 'cube-suits' being made just like fursuits.

Same shit happened because of Disney and animal mascots. Gonna happen here.

fucking casuals here can't be assed to make a 3x3 farm plot for food in minecraft? what the fuck do you play where some minimal form of maintenance isn't required?

It's scary how closely this resembles my experiences. I remember taking turns playing creative mode in browser with my friends when we first heard about the game. I think there was even a server up that was essentially split between people desperately trying to build and other people immediately destroying everything. I miss those times.

Not enough to survive with unless you also build a mob farm for bones which is a whole another ordeal.

...

Why the fuck does this exist

A basic darkbox mob farm that can be built in a few hours can be set up pretty much anywhere, and get you more bones and arrows and gunpowder than you'll know what the fuck to do with. As for farming, just nick a browncoat from the nearest village, and stuff him into an enclosed farm. There's ways to automate collection by having him throw food to another villager that is just out of reach, but even just having him plant while you harvest saves a lot of time. Or just make an automatic chicken-cooker, and have more chicken than you can eat.

Most of the satisfaction of the game is automating absolutely everything that can be automated. The only problem is that it trivializes the entire "survival" aspect, and the only grindy thing you still have to do is mining or you can just exploit the fact that they STILL HAVE NOT PATCHED OUT hopper dupers and drown yourself in diamonds.

What was that mod that was like factorio before factorio came out? You could automate shit, there were pipes items wnet through that were transparent and you could see them move inside them.
I know it's a shit description but I had a concussion and don't remember much from my childhood

buildcraft probably, which was always paired with forestry
but then everyone tried doing better so more mods added pipes or conduits or whatever

Is a mess. I started Minecraft with 1.3 or what ever version it was befor the build the beds. That was actually all i wanted. Just the beds, that's it. Everything else i could mod in and it was ok. But than there was the red stone community who pushed more and more bullcrap in later updates in. Stuff that nobody needed and it made minecraft more and more to a mess. What was this retarded stone which could push other stones around? What the hell was that? Never used and was just for the retarded autist building mini computer and shit. Meanwhile the game suffers under lag spikes and bad antialys. Tried the fancy mod to force far view and AA in but the builds where so fast updated that everytime the mod broke and you had to wate until the modder updatet his mod. You where forced to follow the community for updates and so it became even more of a mess. All i wanted was a bed. Damn this retarded community.

On top of this, java is shit. Minecraft never used more than one core and the lags never got better. I switched to minetest, c++, mods that don't breake and les of a messy community.

Explain?

Anything before the adventure update. I'm with you user. That shit ruined everything

… is this going to be to Generation Zyklon what Newgrounds was to us?

...

No, that option only works for layer-based generation (as in, y:0,-10 all stone, y:-11, -20 all lava, etc.). And the "supersized" option for world generation, but you never achieve what the picture portrays.

Simple. When you have a loop of hoppers (can be as simple as two pointing toward each other), any items put inside will move continuously between the hoppers. However, any time the game saves the world (which will happen frequently and automatically on servers) a glitch can happen where, should a single item be right at the exact moment of moving between one hopper and another, it'll "save" inside both hoppers, thus being duplicated, or "duped" in game-speak.

One can increase the chances of this happening by placing the loop of hoppers (I usually just use four) halfway across a chunk boundary (press F3 and G to see them) and of course sticking the contraption near spawn so it's always loaded. The more items you put into the system, the faster they will duplicate (as more will be in the state of transfer when saves happen), so the amount of items will increase exponentially. Stick a couple diamond blocks in there to start, and you should have two or three stacks of them within a week, depending on sever activity.

In any case, the reason this is important is less because of duping, and more because anyone who relies on hopper-clocks to power redstone contraptions will eventually have their timings fuck up as the items inside the hoppers increase from what was originally intended. Considering hopper-clocks are the simplest method of making timing circuits that function somewhere between "a few seconds" and "a full Minecraft day", many auto farms typically use them.

Giving me stick-figure-porn flashbacks, dude.

Right, I usually just played singleplayer in creative for the benefit of not having lag on my redstone.

Jesus that's worse than when inventory was shared between server/client, because then you had to swap items fast enough between your inventory and a chest and it would duplicate the item the same way, but it required you to do it by hand and if you had the timing wrong you could lose the items you were duping.
I spent hours perfecting that method so that I could build a pyramid out of gold before mods were really used on servers (except bukkit plugins).

Yeah, I don't understand why duping machines are such a big deal, when it seems as if this method has worked literally since hoppers were introduced. They've tried to fix it, but always end up breaking the hopper's actual functionality, and so have to revert. I don't see a solution ever coming, honestly.

Forgot to mention: in case you still don't have enough diamonds, hoppers can also dupe shulker boxes, as well as EVERYTHING INSIDE THEM.

To prevent hopper duping why not just prevent their output side from accepting items? I see no reason why that wouldn't work, but it would break hopper clocks.

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Am I remembering a different game, or was it true that very early on inventories were client side so you could just edit a file and have anything?

Output slots accepting items isn't the issue. The issue is that there's a small time period during each transfer, from the output of one to the input of the other, where the item exists in both slots, due to how computers work. If the world saves at that exact moment, then it saves both copies of the item.

Because maybe some hoppers LIKE anal? Gosh, did you ever think about that?? Jerk.

This is bait.

That's not performance related. That's whatever retarded update decided to turn SP into a local server.

How is it bait, aside from assuming Russia is the best place to go? Java Minecraft's current devs are total shit. One of the devs was hired for the creation of a modding API, and that's nowhere to be found. Instead he made wolves, one of the most pointless features of the game. They shifted the hue of a few block textures in photoshop and considered that the front end feature of a major update. Their next "major" update is going to add a single new creature out of four potential ones. Seriously, they have concepts for four new enemies drawn up, but they're so lazy/incompetent that they're only making one of them and are putting it to a vote which one they make. What's worse is that their incompetence is continuing to fracture the modding community, as each update breaks compatibility, meaning some mods move on to new versions while others never get updated to newer versions, either from author abandonment or preferable to stay on an older version, and forge's massive performance drop post 1.7.10 makes it even worse. Mojang is awful, only exists still because that was part of the agreement for Notch selling Minecraft, and doesn't do anything with the game besides slowly add half-assed features to justify their continued existence.

She proceeds to get fucked by a ghast, a pigman zombie, and then a horse while unconscious, and then again while conscious. Every single one includes cum inflation.

I don't remember people being able to do that, so maybe something different, as far as I know the server would save a player's inventory upon leaving and check it against the client's copy on next join.

That's definitely not how it should work at all, the server should always remove the item from hopper A before putting item into hopper B. What the fuck kind of logic are they using that it has item in hopper A, checks hopper B for valid slot, then copies item to slot in hopper B before destroying item in hopper A?
It should store the item in memory then destruct it in hopper A before copying it to hopper B, and for how many mods never had this issue, I assume that's what they're doing with pipes and conduits.

On the plus side we may have discovered what causes the Fermi paradox.

Anyone have the rest of the FLAOT photos?

Okay, memes and degenerate porn aside, is it still worth playing? I'm thinking of shelling the shekels to join some vanilla survival servers I THINK they still exist, anyway.

I like Beta 1.8, 1.8.1 added the hunger bar and I hated it.

...

I had some fun times on 1.6.4, but 1.7.4 was also nice.

Where's shadow of israphel?

Pick one.

FUCK YOU I remember that.

I've seen people in Minecraft rebuild Minas Fucking Tirith and a real-size Starship Enterprise. There is no reason someone can't take these pictures and make a perfect, block-by-block recreation of this exact terrain.

Or you could just use hacks to modify the client inventory. The server didn't care.

The issue is that Minecraft doesn't generate that terrain by itself, though.

no community is kill

all good people left the game for good

might be able to make it in minetest, there are some pretty odd mapgen mods out there, either that or could be made as a C++ mapgen. pic related is a mod that makes some skylands inbetween Y=700 and the top of the world.

...

Best version of minecraft was the one just before the infinite generation nonsense. When you could make a wonderful 512x512 floating cube of world with custom generation parameters like hell world or flaot.

The worldgen in infinite is just so bland and shitty that it's depressing to play.

Also that was back before he turned water into blue jelly. It used to flow as far as its volume allowed and flood places insanely fast, making blind underground mining into a drowning hazard.
But now water is just kind of an ugly annoyance instead of a threat and carefully managed feature.

All thought and care was removed from the game to make room for infinite sameness.

Ahh Minetest. How goes you my old friend?

Laggy, glitchy and ugly to boot. Not to mention the community full of autistic faggots begging in the forums like it's a drawthread, only with no delivery. You're required to give up ALL your rights to the mods and texture packs you work so hard on only for the community to put in their own shitty* artistic touch to it, thus driving away the best artists. Listening to the same ol' Minetest didn't copy nothin defense forces and constant reminder it's written in C++ *I wonder what their argument is now that Minecraft is currently C++ They can't even get the shitty Nyaancat right!

Also the fattest jew helped develop this monstrosity.

I tell you man, normalfags really ruin everything. I remember when they first came up with shit like skyblock and hunger games, I thought it was cool, but I never expected it to take over the main game.

dear god

The way Alpha inventory worked in MP was that your inventory was saved on the server, but the client informed the server of any changes. The server did not track inventory updates, so it just accepted whatever the client said its inventory was. When you move items fast enough on a vanilla client, you're basically trying to have the item be read in 2 slots simultaneously so it dupes. Of course, if you mess it up, you also potentially have the item read in no slots during the transfer which meant you could also lose it. I got good with the timing so I was successful almost every time.
A client-side mod or external program like CheatEngine could also modify values in the inventory to spawn any blocks (like bedrock) and the server would accept it. Because MP was so new and hMod (the only server mod I know that existed at the time) didn't have any anti-cheat plugins I was aware of, it was very easy to cheat. (Look at the Alpha server in the OP if you need any proof. I doubt the admin spawned in those items.)
Some hMod servers had WorldEdit/WorldGuard yes, the same plugin by the same author still used today if anyone gives a shit that could do regional protections and edits, and limit certain block placements, but it wasn't the same as a proper anti-cheat measure. Also, even if a server did disable bedrock placement (which most servers didn't) it was still easy enough to just dupe obsidian which was legal to obtain and possible, but tedious to remove. One server I played on had a world border, but it was really easy to just unplug your internet, walk forward 10-20 blocks to place some signs or diamond blocks, then reconnect internet before the server sends you back.

Despite being a broken mess it was fun to play with others, but a better game would have made a huge difference. I'd love if there were more servers like the Alpha servers I used to play on (invincible, no monsters, could build almost anywhere, warps for certain towns built from scratch by players, roads between said cities built by players and not some pre-made path using WorldEdit, etc) with later features and bug-fixes but the nostalgia would probably wear off quickly. People would rather do peaceful building in creative with fly mode and infinite blocks, and without a survival aspect you'd easily run out of stuff to do once you finish building the things you want with little holding you back.

I remember when spleef was the biggest minigame in Minecraft. I never expected it to die off. I also remember wanting optional flight in Creative when it was added because it would make spleef games a lot easier than using shovels and snow blocks in survival. (at least that's how the servers I played on did it, but this was early beta at the latest)
These game modes people came up with probably wouldn't have picked up in popularity so much if Notch ever finished the ones he promised to add (Capture the Flag anyone?). Minecraft always lacked in gameplay but I mistakenly bought it in Alpha under the assumption that the base gameplay would be improved upon. (That, and I fell for the 50% off Alpha price thinking it would go up soon. It didn't even go Beta until 4-5 months later.) 7 years later I still wonder if it was worth the $13 I paid.

I remember making regenerating spleef arenas on old serbs. Good times… the only gimmick with those was that because it was cobble, you needed high tier picks to play.

torrented the latest version
why are they so focused on trying to kill me. the game was perfectly fine with monsters that spawn in the dark, but now even digging is potentially suicidal

You built on the only fucking place where silverfish naturally occur. Only in mountain biomes will stone sometimes contain silverfish, because it's the same place where emeralds abundant and they want to discourage you from strip mining mountains by throwing mud in your eye otherwise it would be too easy to trade with villagers, because that's so useful.

Don't forget
YOGSVENTURES

Don't forget this, too. Hell, let's just remember how much of a egotistical faggot Simon ended up being.

Daily reminder water and fire nerfs were made for whiny faggots crying about MUH GRIEFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING, just like the removal of enderman stealing blocks.

Explain? I don't remember either of those. But I'm pretty sure Simon somehow got his faggot ass into a car commercial because I remember someone that looked exactly like him yelling exactly like him in the back of a convertible in it.

Simon was added to Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing Transformed as dlc. People were already a bit peeved about Danica Patrick being a character, but she was necessary for the game to have the budget it did. Simon was completely unnecessary and only done to bring attention to a charity.

Is that the NASCAR tranny?

No, if she was a man she'd actually be able to drive.

If a man pumps himself full of estrogen would he start driving as badly as a real woman? Or would it just impair him?

WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?
Now I'll have to employ more humans for my snow golem sweatshops.. ugh… damn government regulations.

It honestly depends on the level of brain maturity. Anything before 25 we can be sure it would, to varying degrees. After, I have no idea.

You don't fool me, I can see it's Todd Howard behind the moustache.

The only thing that was ever good about it was mods and you're fucking retarded if you still think otherwise

I'm 18 and I started browsing in 2014
I'm actually honestly surprised I'm not an oldfag because when I read old caps I notice anons are talking about or in games and places I always frequented when I was a kid, and I have always watched non-shounen anime because my older brother introduced me to it

They only steal basic blocks like dirt, stone, and pumpkins and TNT now.

phew, safe. You can set up piston feeds for snow, and grow pumpkins– endermen in minecarts on tracks will nigger the pumpkins and sometimes place them on the snow, for golems. Just need someone to place the snow.

Hunger always irked me for those reasons, and because it really bogged down exploration. If you want to go somewhere new, or into a dungeon/structure/cave, you had to take a fuckton of food with you. And if you settled somewhere new, you better start food production right away. It's no longer as viable and carefree to walk a thousand blocks in one direction and build shelter as needed. It's just too slow and tedious on all aspects.

pic not? related

any good mods for 1.7.2? ideally biomes
i've got the nocubes mod working, and i got some biome mod but it seems bugged since water doesn't entirely reach islands and the islands are severely lacking in wood/dirt

You sure? It turns out there's entire websites and communities dedicated to vanilla. I want to relive some old Xcocks 369 days.

Anything can be fun with the right group of people, even inane boring shit like watching football and getting drunk. That's why the multiplayer gaming community is so full of cancerous, shitty games. Only autistic kids liked played with Legos by themselves; same concept applies, here.

I won't deny the possibility that I'm autistic, but I don't think that's entirely true.

Well… and introverts, too, I guess. The two overlap often enough, though, especially when it's less "introverted" and more "does NOT play well with other children".
