As an American, I never normally come across the "ash" (æ) in normal life, but I always assumed having a full "ae" next to eachother was used as a substitute and would be pronounced "Ah" (like Apple). So when people spell Demon Daemon I always read it as "Dah-mon" which sounds retarded

I would pronounce it exactly like I would in my mother tongue, since German coincidentially had its pronunciation standardized by a bunch of Romaboos, but the spelling sounds like a trick question. Probably in allcaps with a v replacing the u.

I was always under the impression that since Latin had no "u" that a proper spelling would rather be a v regardless of case but I never considered the fact Latin lower case letters were pretty much just small versions of upper case letters. Perhaps Vᴀʟᴇɴᴛɪɴɪᴀɴᴠs is the more proper spelling but most keyboards don't do smallcaps.

To be honest, I don't know. There are various pronunciations depending on the language, but I think the most common amongst English-speaking countries are Classical Latin and Church Latin. Personally I like the "pronounce all letters" kind (Classical?).
