I didn't mind the Hyrule Warriors combat as much, but it may have been the solid number of characters and large amount of battles. I also was a bit too busy making head canon scenarios for the adventure mode maps, because I felt like they wanted to make actual descriptions for every scenario, but never got the chance for it. At least that's what it feels like when there's one where you play as Cia with Link as an ally and fight off every other female protagonist

That being said it'd be kind of cool if someone used the engine to make a Zelda specific adventure with her own style of fighting or if Nintendo got off their lazy asses and did it

The warriors games certainly don't appeal to everyone, If you had the fucking misfortune of BUYING BERSERK AND THE BAND OF THE HAWK GOD FUCKING DAMN IT you'd see the games can be hit and miss, but if you don't mind the combat and gameplay I'd say look up some gameplay vids and pick it up if it looks decent. A word of warning, leveling up will actually make a difference once you start doing scenario maps, along with various abilities (I'll say it now that although you can choose when to unlock your priority is really to unlock everything) especially if you haven't crafted weapons for that character, but they generally let you play through everyone and have plenty of "choose any character" maps to get them ready for the tougher things.
